Hi everyone

My 10 and a half week old son has had many issues with colic and reflux since his birth in late February, so while we are loving the laughs he brings to our day he is somewhat hard work! Probably due to stress, about 2 weeks ago my milk started drying up and as I am already struggling to get enough sleep we have put him on the bottle, which he takes really well (although feeds vary between 40ml and 250ml!)

Anyway, my question is around his bowel movements - while he is going at least once a day, there is persistent crying, a little red face and very jerky little legs on and off for a good 5 hours before he actually poos. He did become constipated when I first weaned him (only Coloxyl drops worked to help him) - could it be leading up to constipation again? His stools are still fairly runny so it's certainly not text book constipation.

Can anyone tell me if they've experienced similar? Our only saving grace is that he has been a fairly good sleeper considering his reflux, but this is getting worse as this latest problem progresses.

By the way, his formula is Karicare HA-AR

Thanks!

Not sure if my bubs has the same issues - she too goes very red faced and grunts and has some troubles doing no 2s, she did get constipated a couple of weeks ago (she's no 6 weeks), Parent helpline told me to give her 30mls of cooled boiled water with 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar in it 2-3 times per day until she gets better.

She was doing very well with only 1 a day, but the difference between my little one and yours is mine had pasty-hard no 2s.

Thanks Trix - he's since been three times so it mustn't be constipation, rather I think its just wind issues. Oh the joys!

Many thanks for your help
