I was was just wondering if anyone has ever cut terry towelling nappies to fit a newborn better. My DD was born at 36 weeks and is tiny. I really want to put her in cloth nappies and had planned to just use terry towelling nappies however they are just too big and bulking to even put on her. I was thinking if I cut some in half they would work better. My main concern is washing them and if they would wash ok.
they would fray unfortunately. Do you know anyone with a sewing machine or overlocker?
If you hadnt already purchased them a lot of the ladies on here get nappy flannalette from spotlight by the metre and cut it to size. It seems to work really well. But does also need to be overlocked or zig zag stitched.
My little boy was born at full term and I still found terry towelling nappies too bulky until he was about 4 weeks old. We just got some flannelette from spotlight and zigzagged the edges. About 45-50cm squares worked well until the terries were usable :)
