Fundal height measuring at 31cm at 36 weeks pregnant

Hi not really sure if this is the right section for this, but i have just seen my midwife for my 36 weeks check and my fundal height measurement is only 31cms. I'm really worried because that is 5cms under my weeks. I had a growth scan at 30 weeks and my due date matched up, they said baby was a little bit small but nothing to worry about (aprox 3lb). My blood pressure has been up a little bit usually 140/85 but my dr doesn't seem to concerned. I'm really worried something is wrong with bub. Has anyone else had this happen and bub was born at a good weight?

I also had low fundal for the number of weeks, and developed a high BP around 35 weeks. I hope you don't have what I had - I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. My BP was 160/100, I had protein in my urine and alot of oedema in my face, ankles and hands. I had a scan at 32 weeks which showed a smaller baby. At birth (at 37 weeks) my baby was 2.1kg (4lb 11oz), now at 10.5 months he's 8.5kg.

I would call your midwife had have a good chat about your concerns. Go in for another appointment if you are worried.

what did your midwife have to say?

later in the pregnancy there are alot of reasons why you may measure slightly more or less than gestational age

one is position of bubs, another is the level of fluid, another is wether bubs is engaging or not

I wouldn't worry about it unless your midwife has said something, i'm sure every thing will be alright, and bubs will be fine :yes:

i had the same thing but at 35 weeks. Had an ultrasound and baby is perfectly normal. Small but still in the "normal" range. I think fundal measurement should be out-lawed cause its very inaccurate!!!! Even the midwife said if 10 midwives did a measurement they would all be different. I really wouldnt stress over it, it wasnt worth it for me. Im 6 weeks now and EVERYONE says i look tiny.
