Is this normal or not??

Hi there,

I have a 5 week old baby boy who is breastfed.

He has not done a poo for 2 days and I am a little concerned. Is it possible for him to be constipated???

He is very wet at each nappy change so I know he is definately getting plenty of milk.

Please tell me this is not completely unusual??

breast fed babies can go up to 10 days (some a little longer) without doing a poo

Yes, that is normal!

My DD would go after almost every feed I reckon, but my sisters DD wouldnt go for over a week or more.... Lucky thing!!!

My daughter is now 7 months and she is a 'once a week' girl....she tends to only poo when we are out shopping or something,,and after a week,, well you can just imagine,,half a pack of wipes or a bath is needed :laughing:

My friend's 4 month old just went more than 2 weeks between poos!! She was pretty worried but it wasn't really that bad - I mean it was big, but nothing to call the firemen out with their big hoses. Don't forget that their burning up heaps of the energy, and doing lots of growing too - so it's not like it's all just getting stored up!
