Just wanted to know if anyone else's bubs teethed early. My DS1 cut his first tooth at 15 weeks, my DS2 cut his first tooth at 14 weeks, and now my DD1 who is only 3 weeks old, looks like she is cutting her first tooth.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I would just like to know if anyone else has been through this and if so, how did you cope?

Thanks in advance.

Bonjella? can you give it to them at that age?

Otherwise I would say lots of coldness on their gums, maybe giving them a cool wet flannel to suck on?

I hope they cut quickly for both of you. Imagine, some babies are born with teeth! I wonder if it hurts them in utero when they are cutting?

Thanks Tash,

Bonjella is for 4 months up, so that's out of the question. The chemist said it was ok to give Panadol as she is only 1 week off 1 month, so we have given that to her twice already. Plus we went down town and bought a few cold teether's.

I'm hoping to hear from others who have been through it this early to find out how they coped.

Please keep the replies coming.

we used bonjella on DS at 2 months and it was fine. but i'm not telling u to go give her bonjella. he still hasnt cut any teeth but was in alot of pain over his teeth at one stage and nothing else worked.

maybe there are some natural alternatives u could try.

my DP told me about a very strange home rememdy his late grandfather had tried when he was alive. he took a length of leather and tied it around the babys neck, as a necklace sort of thing. they (DP and family) tell me it worked but i dunno, that just sounds to weird to me. we havent tried it yet.

speaking of being born with teeth, i was born with one tooth. had it pulled out at just a few days old because doctors thought i would suck on it and choke. but another grew in its place and of course it later fell out and i grew adult teeth.

anyways i hope u find something that works.

DS has been "teething" since 6-8 weeks and still hasnt cut a tooth yet and is now 5 months. he'd look so cute with a tooth too. i hope to get it over and done with soon...lol

My bubs was teething from the moment he was born but didnt cut them until he was 9mths oh how much fun that was !!!!!
We actually used Bonjella on him as of 6wks bad i know :o so im not saying for you to do the same but we were at our wits end & it was our lifesaver.
Otherwise as a few of the others have suggested a cold facewasher for bubs to suck on or the likes.
I also invested in two things which have been my other life lines.
A Gummy which you can buy at Big W not sure about anywhere else its a teething dummy so rather than a teat it has a rubbery type bit that bubs can bite down on. Once they get the hang of it its great & is also great for applying Bonjella. I also got a set of 3 "toothbrushes" which are to teach babies what they are about so the first one is like a stick for them to chew on so i used to make it a bit cold by rubbing it on an icecube then rubbing it on bubs gums again soon enough they will be sitting holding & chewing it themselves !
Anyways good luck i know its tough but try & hang in there :hugs:

Liam has started teething at 12 weeks. It's horrible. He spent last weekend crying and comfort nursing on my breast. For a few days I was one tired mama!

My little man cut his first tooth at 8wks, thankfully he wasn't in that much pain with it (and thanfully he was bottlefed). I used to rub his gums a lot, give him frozen face cloths to chew on and panadol. I actually found bonjella to be useless with my first 2 babies, it only gave them relief for a minute or two so I never brought it for Matthew.

Good luck!!

DS has been teething on and off for a month or two now, and I've found the Brauers Teething Relief really good. It helps settle him but doesn't seem to dope him up like panadol does (and I won't use panadol anymore because of the artificial sweeteners in it).

Good luck :)
