So far I have been lucky to find tins of the 'old' Nurture in chemists and so on (I just don't like the new Nurture, so frothy and difficult to mix ) but now that DD is almost 6 months, I have to change formula anyway to the follow-on one and I guess it will become harder each time to find the old tins...so I want to find an alternative...Any suggestions please? I heard of the organic formula but I have no idea how much it is and I can't really afford a very expensive formula...has anyone switched to another formula successfully?

hiya hun.... just to let you know that although there are follow on formulas you don't have to change over.... the main change in follow on is the casein/whey ratio and 'can' assist them when they are eventually weaned onto cows milk.... There is some slight increase in nutrients etc but as 6 months is the recommended age to introduce solids bubs will get the extra from these....
Just thought i'd ramble a bit sorry!!!
As for an alternative to Heinz? I have heard also that the new makeup seems different and i have a friend also who has decided to change over and has gone with the 'normal' karicare which i think is pretty good in price... not that much different at my local Big W in Vic (not sure where you are hun. Also just to mention is some chemists sell formula at a very reduced price compared to supermarkets etc.... I have a chemist around the corner that sells karicare much cheaper that supermarkets...
Also why not consider a 'chemist' brand... They are excellent and from what i understand very similar to Heinz nurture...
As for problems changing her over.... there shouldnt be any hun 6 months is a good age if you are concidering this. Her insides have matured and should be able to take the change really well.... I never had any issues either...
Good luck!!!

THanks Essjau, I didn't realize you don't need to change to a follow on formula...but I still don't think I'll be lucky enough to keep finding the old tin for the next 6 months or so...I'll give karicare a go. I tried Amcal and my baby loved the taste but it made her very spewy and windy but that was a newborn, might tried that one again if karicare is not good....thanks for your reply
