Hi we are off for a holiday to Thailand in Nov and Emma will be 8 months old then. Does anyone have any advice in regards to food for her while we are away, I am not sure what I can take over there and what we can take in our carry on luggage for the trip over with all of the security restrictions.
What would you feed while away? I dont want to rely on cooked food over there and my preference would be to take food but I dont quite know how I will take enough - we are going for 2 weeks.
All the food for Emma I prefer to cook myself so far and havent used any pre prepared food so I dont know which are good or not.
We bought sunhats and rashi's for her on the weekend - so cute.... I cant wait...:sunshine:

How exciting! I was wondering the same thing about taking food OS. We leave in a week but my youngest is 15 months so a bit easier to feed as he eats most foods now. I don't think it matters so much what you take out of the country and prepared/tinned food would probably be the go as a back up for some meals.
I'm trying to remember back to 8 months and what they eat.
Will you need formula?
A packet of farex that you can mix with fruit when you are there.
Some tinned meals, pureed fruit/cereals( most in the baby isle are much of a muchness IMO. I did like the rafferty's kitchen squeeze packs though. They come in fruit and vegies varieties and are great on the run. If you have these with you then if you can't get hold of trutworthy food sources you could use them.
How many meals a day does you bub have?
I don't know much about Thailand and what food is available so can't offer much more than that. Have fun:D

Hello, yes i would be taking all tinned food they say the fruit over there is ok as long as you take the skin off. When we went to Bali they had suppermarkets like here with all that kind of baby foods (tinned) You'll be fine. Enjoy!

:yelclap: Thanks I went shopping today and had a look, I found a steriliser bag that I can put her bottles in to sterlise in the microwave. In food I got some different types to try to see if she likes them.
I'm very excited even though it is 2 months from now :sunshine:
I recommend you take some milton tablets with you for bottles and cleaning dishes for Emma.
Only use bottled water for making up her bottles, washing her dishes, etc. Make sure you keep bottled water on you at all times and wash fruit in that before handing it over.
Try the Rafferty's Garden pouches. The pouches won't break open in transit. The 10months+ food can be eaten when younger so long as she has tried everything in the meal and you give it a really thorough fork mash before feeding.
If you are flying Qantas, you can take what you like on the plane for Emma you just have to show it as you go through security. If you take some bottles with sterile water and formula separate, the liquid rules do not apply to those bottles but you may be asked to sip some of the water to demonstrate it isn't toxic. If you are flying with another airline, contact them and ask them what their regulations are.
Take 2 more bottles than you would ordinarily over the same period of time for the plane. They help enormously with take off and landing and babies get dehydrated like we do on planes.
And have a great time!

Hi,
They do have supermarkets there which sell baby food, alot of the types of foods they sell are the same as what we have here but branded differently. Other than that you can ask the people at the resort to make special stuff or even give you the ingredients so you can make it. They are extremely accomodating there and nothing is too much trouble.
Definately don't let your bub or yourself drink the water. Even reject ice, although you should be right at the resort if you are staying at a good one. We didn't really eat fruit either while we were there because of the fact it's watered with Thai water (gross) but I did see other people and kids eating the fruit.
Thailand is THE BOMB! We went last year and it was fantastic (although we did leave DD at home so we could run a muck)!
Have a great trip.
