View Full Version : May 08 - They're here...Now What Do We Do With Them? #3
hay guys i was just wondering if i could join your thread i was in the magic may babies thread for a little while and remember some of you guys sorry hope im not intruding.
Welcome back Kristy - it really is lovely to have new people to chat to....you just have to make sure you come back and chat cause we seem to scare off most of the newies (ie pop in to say g'day then don't come back :()...you're definitely not intruding!
Your poor little man - I don't envy what you're about to go through, but am sure that the better quality of life he will have after the surgery is a worthy pay off! How did they discover that? Is he otherwise a happy boy....I'm sure that having to deal with all of this means he gets lots and lots of cuddles!! Some :hugs: to all of you...would love to be kept up to date
Kayla - glad you got the night off... it was a bit sad last night being the sober mature one (but I guess you need one of those at a 21st to make sure everyone gets fed!! And better me since I was driving and feeding so that all of the immediate family could just relax and have a blast).
I'm actually a little worried for next weekend as we have a school reunion on Sat night, and I tried M with some expressed milk and he just didn't know what to do with it - just chews on the nipple - I plan on feeding him at 6 as per usually, and then heading off, but just wanted to leave Mum with a feeding option in case he wakes before midnight...any suggestions?? Am hoping I haven't left my run too late, but am starting to think so

hey guys
OOOh Kristy, welcome back. So sorry to hear about the dramas your little bub is going through. I hope there is light at the end of the tunnel for you both. :hugs: Keep us updated with the progress! :)
Kayla: sounds like you had a good birthday! Yar hangovers are horrible when you haven't had them in over a year eh?! My head is still throbbing from when i went out the other weekend... haha well it's not, but i want to remember how gross i felt so i don't do it again soon!
Amanda: Maybe you should try offering a little expressed milk each day leading up to the reunion to see if he takes it. Or perhaps get your hubby to try to give it to him so he gets used to it?
My DP sits on the floor cross legged and has T lay across his legs and feeds him that way. T usually looks at it funny but eventually when he realizes milk is coming out he takes it!
Well it's stinking hot today and it's making me dread summer all over again! I can't stand the heat and the headaches that come with it!
need to get some air-con happening pronto!
OOOH and DP and i are all good now too...HOORAY! I hate it when things are bad between us
Mel- The meet was in Hastings at punkydiva's (bubhub members house).
I met Punkydiva when she came to QLD to visit her sis, she is such a lovely lady!:) I hope your birthday was a good one.
Amanda - My assignment is due tomorrow so hopefully will get it done and next week just got Joshy to daycare on Wed, Thurs meeting up with a friend and Fri Josh at daycare again. So let us know what you guys are thinking :)
Kirsty - So sorry to hear about your little man's heart condition, i hope you are coping ok and that he is going to be eating better for you soon. :hugs:
HBP - You are so cute, glad you and your DP are good again, i know its frustrating when they don't get what you're saying, men really are strange creatures! And yeah i second bringing on the air-con geez, going to be a hot summer!
Better get back to studying, mum and dad came to take Josh out he's going to the zoo and to the beach, so that should be fun for him, and i better get majority of my assignment done so it's not all in vain! lol
Have a great weekend everyone! :flowerz: :sunshine:

happybunnypony- its been crazy hot here today as well still is got every window open and its sticky, went to the beach today the water was great now we are getting a storm oh i love those summer storms at the end of the day.
amandaw- i have no advice for you on the expressing as i never had to do it sorry hope you find out how you can make it work i think offering it to him everyday is a good option so he might get used to it goodluck.
kayla- thanks sweety glad you had a good birthday and hope you didnt get to much of a hangover.

Must be lasagne night HBP (and feeling p!ssed off at DH night...mine decided that I didn't need to come to drinks tonight (last day of school...and yes, while I wouldn't have actually drunk, I had already organised snacks and stuff for the kids and was looking foward to getting out of the house when he rang and said xyz was going to give him a lift and didn't give me a chance to say that I wanted to come ) and then didn't get in till after the dinner, bath, PJ hour...gee thanks
Feel free to crash!! How's everything going at your end??
Hi Amandaw,
All going well thanks. A stint in sleep school got us all back on track LOL:laughing: Have been travelling a bit so now am all settled back home and catching up on the goss!!!
Everyone sounds like they are doing really well. Lovin the pics, all the babies are just gorgeous. Can you believe their all around the 4 month mark now??? Its hard to believe, I feel like it was just yesterday I brought her home from the hospital and now she's already in 00's, cooing and giggling and grabbing for everything. I have to say that this is such a great age, they just get more fun everyday.....anyway will stop going on....hope you all had a great weekend. Weather improved a bit down here in Melb for Sunday but I do miss the brissy weather - where we moved from : - (
Have been travelling a bit so now am all settled back home and catching up on the goss!!!
Lucky girl!!!
I didn't realise you were a Brisbanite too (well ex now) - there is quite a few of us up this way, though 2 seemed to have dropped off, HBP has moved (only to the coast though) and Issacsmummy is like you and in Canberra now...I wouldn't be missing the Brisbane weather too much...it's meant to be 34 on Sunday  Time to find someone with a swimming pool to invite ourselves to :D . I agree though it does pass quickly and it does get better...I think with DD if I'd waited to go back to work at 12 months (which was the plan, but then DH send me back to work at 7-8 months for some sanity and he stayed home) then I wouldn't have been able to leave - once they start to become these independent little beings it's just amazing!!
V - good luck on getting that assignment finished - hope the 2 of them (well 3 with your DH ) behave themselves so you can concentrate for a few more hours
Us - am feeling a bit nostalgic this morning...a bit like that last bf that you give a baby (when you've decided to make the switch to bottle, not them) - Charlotte had her first night in a bed last night...made her look so teeny tiny all over again...am glad for bed rails though..she was smooshed up against it when I went to check on her last night, so I imagine she would have been on the floor otherwise
Anywho shall go...is the first day of holidays for DH but he's up at school putting the year 12 verification together...who says teachers only work 9-3 40 weeks a year  - hopefully he'll be home by lunch time though

Im taking him to see dorothy the dinosaur on friday too.

heeey guys!
yar i agree with amanda, i wouldn't be missing the brissy weather at all! it's not that great! And amanda, the house we just left had a massive pool... wanna buy our house, it's for sale?! hehee
I was thinking this morning about how long i want to bf T for... initially i thought, gawd if i can make it to 6 weeks i'll be happy, then if i can just make it to 3 months i'd be super stoked... now we are rolling with the b/feeding and i actually enjoy it - im thinking i'd like to maybe make it till a year... obviously i'd be feeding less and less because of solids, but i just find it convenient for us particularly because i'm lazy! haha
Also i've discovered T seems to sleep longer for naps when he's rolled over on his tummy and i leave him. Previously i pop him on his back to sleep and he cries and rolls over and i kept going back in to turn him back and it would take aages for him to go to sleep - and then only wake after 45 mins. I decided i would leave him if he rolled and fell asleep and check on him regularly... seems he likes it and has so far had two 2 hour sleeps that way!
I haven't told my DP i'm doing this, because he will freak, but if T is happy then i'm thinking it might not be a bad idea.
happybirthday Dylan!! YAY!! That's great he is all good after his operation! :)
Vee: good luck with the assignment! i hope you got most of it done! :)

Thought i would do an update on Jaylen seeings as i havent for a while. Jay will be 5 mths on the 3rd of next mth, he can say "arr boo" which i think is pretty amazing, he can actually say the word clearly not just making the sound, his not yet rolling, his sleeping through the night, still in 000s, drinking 150ml bottles, has 3 to 4 one hour naps a day, his a very happy little boy, talks, smiles and laughs all the time, he has his unsettled times but there getting fewer and fewer.
I normally dont like posting pics on here as i have a slaker but i want to show off my gorjus boy to you all-

ooooh new thread :smiliedance: Hopefully I can keep up now
happybirthday to Dylan for today and happybirthday to Kayla for Friday.
Hi PJ. And all of the new/returning mummies. Stop in and catch up often - I love reading about everyone else's little ones.
Such gorgeous photos everyone posted!! Our babies are pretty cute :D Not biased or anything :p I have some of Miss C but I'm attempting to type one handed so will pop back in later to upload them. Love your new avs Amanda and Vee!! Spunky boys.
We're doing pretty well down here - the sun has finally come out in Canberra and we've had some lovely warm weather. Having said that it's raining and cooooollld again today!! I've been trying to stay off bubhub and get some packing done, but I'm not succeeding very well. I just can't be bothered packing stuff when we don't have anywhere to move yet! LOL! Two weeks ago Charlotte discovered her voice. She's been talking for ages, but one day it just clicked that she can squeal and shout at us - and she's been doing it ever since!!!! LOL!!! There's no keeping her quiet any more!!
Hoping to get up to Qld in two weeks! YAY!! Though it seems to be so disgustingly hot up there I think I may melt!! Char doesn't have any summer-y clothes that fit her yet, she's still in 000 and all of her 000 stuff is winter stuff! Good excuse to go shopping if ever I had one!
So question for all of you mummies still breastfeeding - how many times a day are your little ones feeding now? And for how long?
And a question for everyone - how long does your little one sleep for through the day, and how many times does he/she go down for a nap?
Isn't it terrible that I don't remember very well what Isaac was like at this age and it wasn't all that long ago! Charlotte is completely different to Isaac in all respects though, so that's probably why I don't get why she doesn't feed that much and for that long.
Hoping to get up to Qld in two weeks! YAY!!
So question for all of you mummies still breastfeeding - how many times a day are your little ones feeding now? And for how long?
And a question for everyone - how long does your little one sleep for through the day, and how many times does he/she go down for a nap?
Is it just a quick trip or would there be time for a coffee (not that I drink it, but a thickshake will do me just dandy )? We could fit it in with our idea to catch up before RM's back at work...that would be exciting :yelclap:
Feeding - I was actually starting to get a bit worried about M too cause it can sometimes seem forever between feeds - his are between 5-10 mins long, and either 5 or 6 in a 24hr period depending on how long his bigger sleeps are at night. And he usually has 2-3 sleeps a day when we're at home...about 2 hrs after a feed and usually for 1.5-2 hrs....other days it's 57 catnaps when we're getting in and out of the car

I miss being a part of this thread, but I've just been having such a hard time lately. Wont go into it, but things aren't good, I'm pretty sure I have hives from too much stress.
Rory is doing well, Jasmine is pretty upset about having to move, and she's acting up because of it. I'm so all over the place I couldn't even tell you how many times I BF a day, I think my milk is starting to dry up she seems to have more formula these days.
She laughs and giggles a lot, loves bath time. She starts to giggle every time you undress her. She the one blessing amongst all the bad....

awww pj... i wondered what had happened to you... i hope things start going good for u soon. lucky rory sounds like she's giving you some light! :)
Re: Breasfeeding
I usually breastfeed every 2-3 hours during the day, then night time just depends on T waking up etc. He feeds sometimes about 10-30 minutes sometimes longer. I usually try to keep him on me for a while after he has pulled off as he likes to suck here and there and i worry he hasn't taken enough in the short feeds.
Napping: I try to get T down after 1hour and 45 mins of being awake... sometimes longer or sometimes shorter. However he usually only naps for 45 mins... with occasional hour and half nap here and there!
I really feel like potatoes, but i have none :( wahhh

Thanks HBP, somehow, someway we always manage to get through. DP got that money back that centrelink illegally took from him, so at least we have money to move! its just finding a place thats the problem, I'm sending him off to look at a good one I've just seen 4 bedrooms, dishwasher etc for $250 :fingerscrossed: we get it.
We can go 4-6 hours between feeds during the day, but at night and in the mornings its every 3 hours still. Its strange she has 200ml of formula easy, but with the breast I don't think she drinks as much...Silly question, but is breast milk more filling than formula? We tried farex this week, first time she was too cranky to really try it (duh, should have fed her booby then tried it). Gave her more yesterday and she ate the whole lot, not much got spat back out. She's not a messy eater like her big sister was! Wasn't really sure about starting on solids, just thought I'd give it a go. We started Jasmine on solids when she was barely 3 months (which was fine for her), but you know...each kid is different. I'm looking forward to starting the solids and easing up on the breast feeds, I'd like to continue with the breast feeding as long as I can when its down to 2 or 3 times a day I'll be happier I think.
She sleeps through pretty much... but she's a really noisy sleeper which keeps me awake (I'm finding it hard to sleep latey anyway). I still haven't managed to get to Knox to pick up the photo's, they've been waiting for a month now.
Amertrine- Sorry to hear about your loss, and sorry I didn't get on sooner to say that. :hugs:
As soon as we get settled, I'd like to invite you all over for a BBQ or something to say thanks for putting up with me!
One of my friends had her 3rd miscarriage the other week :(...my other friend is 16 weeks pregnant with twins and doing well so far providing pre-eclampsia doesn't develop (most like will). The hospital is going to try a vaginal delivery which she's a little nervous about. We're all hoping she has a boy and a girl ;)
Well, I've managed to get nothing done today...better get off.

lol. ur welcome!!! the things we do 2 make them laugh!
I really feel like potatoes, but i have none

I had to read this 4 times to get it in my head  what a random statement HBP :p
So you didn't end up with that other place PJ?? At least the positive is that you've got some money up your sleeve to move - takes some of the pressure off. Usually they say that formula fills more, but I would imagine that the creamier hindmilk actually keeps a baby sated longer, and the foremilk is what quenches their thirst
...and it's not putting up with you PJ - it's a place where we have our bubs in common and it's great to feel supported through that (and we can all have our outs without having to discuss it all in real life when we need ;)) - I've made some great friends on the hub over the last 3 years, some of whom I haven't yet actually met IRL, but would love to one day
Oh and HBP - realised I forgot to say I have no idea how long I'll bf...for C I got to 7 months and then started to slowly drop feeds once I was back at work (too hard to keep expressing...I think we got to 8 1/2 months before she was completely on formula), but I won't be back till 9 months with M, and even then only 3 days a week max...I had a little thought on the weekend (when I had to be the mature sober one :p) that it would be nice to have a few drinkies over christmas, but realistically with 2 kids around it's not like I can really relax too much anyway, and I'm not much of a drinker at the best of times...I think it's just the idea that I COULD if I wasn't feeding that sounds like freedom...I think I'll get to the 7-8 month mark and reevaluate - I'll see how he goes on solids in 6 weeks or so (don't want to subject his tummy to too much change at once) and think about it more in Jan when the back to work prep will be going on...I say if it's working for you, stay with it - certainly beats having to pay for formula and the pain of preparing and cleaning bottles...and if you're really lucky he might slip straight to a sippy cup by then :yelclap:...and all of this for a boy who was making his Mummy's life very ouchy for a long while there!!!
HBP - Love your randomness - Potatoes!
Kayla - Loved the pics of Jay he is super gorgeous!! Look how big he is now.
Amanda - Loving the new av pic luvvy. :)
Cassie - That video was just gorgeous, gee she has big eyes doesn't she, just beautiful!
IM - Yay for coming up here, would love to meet you Is and Char, it is quite hot though already and storm season too.
I submitted my assignment 30 mins before it was due! haha, now i can do housework and socialise since it's done now! Hooray!
Catch up with you all again soon i'm going to  now.
Oh and a special mention to PJ, i hope everything is ok, i know you are having a tough time again but we really do miss you, and it's great that you popped in again, i hope it becomes more regular again. :hugs: :hugs:

So question for all of you mummies still breastfeeding - how many times a day are your little ones feeding now? And for how long?
And a question for everyone - how long does your little one sleep for through the day, and how many times does he/she go down for a nap?
Hi IM. S is having 6 feeds a day, similarly to Amanda and M, she feeds for about 5-10 minutes. I give her a formula top up after her last feed of about 120mls and have started supplimenting a lunchtime feed with formula on most days as I am doing a partial wean in preparation for returning to work. I still plan to breastfeed at night and in the morning when I go back, also the odd day feed (as she will be in childcare 3 days per week) and am expressing bottles of EBM as well. I have started her on some Farex in the late afternoon as well to help her sleep longer.
We're out and about a lot but S generally goes down for her naps at 5am (won't sleep in her bed past dawn ) until 7, 10 for about 45 mins, 12 for about 30 mins, 2:30 for about an hour and 6ish for about 30 mins.
Silly question, but is breast milk more filling than formula? I think that formula is more 'filling' as it's harder to digest but that doesn't make it better iykwim. S was a 3 hourly waker at night. Only since I've been giving her a formula top up, has she started sleeping for a decent stretch. She now goes for between 5-6 hours plus another 3 so no complaints from me.
Welcome back too PJ, as the others say, it's lovely to have you back here :hugs:
at 5am (won't sleep in her bed past dawn )
That'll explain your post at silly hours then ..I was awake (we've got a dawnish riser too....I'm sort of okay about that though because it generally means that I can ave M fed before C wants up and breaky), but nothing could have physically dragged me out of bed then!!!

Thanks for you replies everyone. Even though she's my second baby, I don't stress any less  I swear, there's days if I didn't sit her down and force my boob in her mouth, that she'd be quite happy not to feed!! She's just so little, but I guess that probably pays a part in it too - her tummy is only so little and can only hold so much.
I'm also sooo thankful I'm not the only one with a cat-napper. I know I should probably try and get her to sleep longer for one sleep cycle - but it's fairly impossible most days!! She's great when we're out and about though, she'll have nice long sleeps, so I'm not too concerned.
I can't complain, she's such a lovely placid little thing, generally so happy to go with the flow. And she's back to having fairly good long stints of sleep of a night time - though last night she dirtied her nappy which kept her awake and a bit grumbly. Fingers crossed it's back to normal tonight, I'm wrecked after being awake so often
Amanda - we're planning on coming up for a little over a week, if DH can get work sorted out. They've just gotten busy, so he's hoping to finish as much as he can this week and next week so we can get away for a while. Most of our family still haven't met Charlotte so it'll be nice to able to show her off a little :p And would love to catch up with you lovely ladies, but don't organise a meet just for me. Do whatever suits you all, and if it's at a time I'm up there and I can make it, I'll just invite myself along :D
Isaac is being totally cute at the moment (which is nice because two weeks ago I was ready to put him out the front with a "free to good home" sign) and has started saying "I loike kiss Charlotte" :D It's sooo adorable. Whenever he kisses her, or we help her to kiss him he says it! Cracks us up.
Well, I really need to get off my big fat bottom and do some housework. We have someone coming through to look at the house tonight so should make it half presentable I suppose
And would love to catch up with you lovely ladies, but don't organise a meet just for me. Do whatever suits you all, and if it's at a time I'm up there and I can make it, I'll just invite myself along :D
Yeah, but at least if we knoe you're coming we'll probably get off our bums and do it  And if it's only a week or so away, then it will take us that long to organise something :p...once it's all sorted, let me know what dates you're up and we can go from there - would be really nice to meet you
Hi Girls
just wanted to say Hello. It's a bit quieter in here today than usual!
Nothing much to report. I still lurk around this thread a bit, but more often than not, I get summoned for immediate attention from one small person before I get the chance to post!
Hope you're all having a great day
Ciao!
Cindye...I know you're out there.... Love your new av! Come in and let us know how you're both going...
Just quickly popping in to say that the jolly jumper got a big thumbs up (or rather Irish jig) from M last night :yelclap:
  you posted while I was typing!
Bella loves the Jolly Jumper too!
She's pretty good, although waking at least once, sometimes twice a night for feeds lately. She was sleeping all night from 6 weeks until 14 weeks, so I think it must be a growth spurt. I've started her on Farex and she loves sucking on a rusk. We're trying what seems like every lotion and potion on the planet to get her eczema under control. Her skin can look great one day, then terrible the next with no obvious reason! So frustrating!
Are you back to work soon amandaw?
Guess what- crying bub! have to go....
Not until school starts back next year (so end of Jan)...there are days I can't wait and days that I dread the thought of trying to fit something else in! Not too worried about the 'leaving babies' thing as I love C's FDCer and M is all booked, ready to start
Still waiting to see what what % I'm back, and what days - hopefully they start working on the timetable soon so that we have a bit more certainty in the household....How about you??

hey gaaals!
i finally printed off loads of photos of T today! Have to send them off to the Grandparents that don't get to see him often, they will get a kick out of it!
I also bought some paint today... i'm planning on painting T's room, i've got a few ideas on what to do, just have to get the time and my butt into gear and hurry up!
Hey Cindye  how are things going for you>?
OOH we got our kitty back today too, mum has been looking after her while we settled into the new place. It's good having her back, but i want to try and keep her outside as much as possible because i don't want the cat hair everywhere... i feel so mean doing that though :(
amanda: is it your reunion tonight? have you tried M on the bottle again?

ooh shoot amanda, don't mind me... i thought today was saturday for a second! i don't know why i thought your reunion was tonight! LOL!
ALSO are jolly jumpers really good? I wonder if T would like one? He gets jack of his swing after about 10 minutes, but he does like playing aeroplanes in the air! lol !
mmmm rusks... where do i get these from? I should be able to give T rusks he's 4 and a half months now!

I'll answer these in order...we're actually skipping out of the reunion now...was only going to be a very casual thing, and while I was looking foward to going, DH wasn't so much, and 4 nights down the coast was a much better offer
We got our jolly jumper off a mate, but both kids have loved it...I'll be taking ours down the coast, so T can 'try before you buy' if you like!
You can get rusks from any woolies/coles..we had a bad experience with rusks (ie Charlotte could demolish them in a flash and actually ended up with big sodden masses in her mouth and choked)...we'll just stick with the damp face cloths personally

:crying: My little baby girl got sunburnt :crying: We had a meet at a park today for a first birthday of a fellow bubhubber. I thought the pram would be cover enough, and it probably was, but obviously when I was holding her and cuddling her back to sleep the sun got on her little cheekies and her arms and they're all red :( Bad, bad mummy moment.
Have learnt my lesson though, and am off to the shops tomorrow to buy a pretty pink hat :p Maybe a couple of pretty pink hats!! And am on a mission to find which nappy bag I put the baby sunscreen in! LOL!
HBP - you're so good printing out photos to send to the grandparents. I really should do that. I'm lazy though, and just send people the links to my facebook photos :p I did get a gold membership at rabbit photos the other week though, so I should use it to print out some photos and do some brag books for the oldies!! We have a tigger jumpy swing thing - so cheaper version of a jolly jumper, and it's a winner here too. Charlotte is still a little bit little for me to leave her in it for very long, and at the moment Isaac thinks the game is to spin her around and let her go to see how fast she spins back around  So it's been packed back in the box until we move.
All this talk of rusks. And other things food related. I don't want to think of my baby eating and sucking and chewing on things. We used the wet facewashers for Isaac too - the rusks ended up in little gross wet soggy pieces all over us, the baby, the floor, etc. Good once he was older, and even now if he has sore teeth he likes to chew on them, but they were yukky to start with!! Can you tell I'm not the biggest fan of yukky gross wet soggy food on me!!
I have sore eyes. Stupid sun. We haven't had any for so long, you forget that you need glasses, a hat and sunscreen when you go out into it.
Where is everyone? It's so quiet in here lately. Which is good - easy for me to catch up - but so lonely....!
 That makes me laugh because that's basically what I said in my other birthgroup thread tonight  ... I even used a few of :hissy: about everyone else having lives LOL
Lots and lots of moisturizer tomorrow!!! I have to go sunshirt shopping tomorrow - don't think DH will let me put Charlotte's pink ones from last year on Mitchell!!! Even though I know how important and necessary they are, I hate that they have to ear them... Chalotte has got THE cutest little pink bikini (my Mum gave it to her for christma - all frilly ruffles on top and bum) and it has to be all covered up to keep her safe :-(
We haven't had the spin around yet.. Charlote just 'helps' him bounce - I actually think she really wants a go, because she loved it - can't wait for her to see her trampoline at christmas!! M's only had 2 5 min goes n there yet, but we'll increase it out as he gets more used to it
Oh and if you want speccy brag books, Big W have got their softcover photobooks on special again tomorrow (only $10...normally $22) - we got some made up a few weeks ago and they are fantatsic - have had so many good comments...just take photos on a CD to one of their photobooths and you slect backgrounds, text, colour changes...it's geat!
Hi guys we are still here sienna had a bad accident put her teeth through her lip so havent been on much.. will take her to the chemist this morning to see if they can giver her any thing

Hi ladies,
Haven't been on in .... geez, such a long time but thought I'd pop in briefly to say hi. I'm finding it really hard just to find 30 mins where I can sit down, read the posts and reply :hair: and I've been a bit stressed, tired, emotional (you know the drill, lol) etc lately so haven't felt like chatting but I think I'm on the road to recovery!!
Before I go any further I have to wish Kayla a happy belated birthday for last Friday, and Dylan too for last week - hope they were great!!
And I briefly read about Kirsty's little boy, that must be so heartbreakingly hard for you and I hope everything turns out ok!
There are so many things that have been said in my absense that I wanted to reply to, but can't remember them all now but here's a few personals for now!
ALSO are jolly jumpers really good?
Emily absolutely loved her jolly jumper, so much so that she would have happily stayed in it ALL day if I'd let her, and they're so good because you can just cart them from room to room while you tidy up or fold washing, whatever! Linc isn't too sure about it, but he happily stands around in it while dribbling so he'll get the hang of it eventually.
My little baby girl got sunburnt!
Oh dear IM, it can happen so easily. You're not a bad mummy :hugs:! I was just saying to Em this morning that next time we're at Target we'll have to get L a couple of sun hats and glasses, wouldn't take much to burn his gorgeous little bald head!
Hi guys we are still here sienna had a bad accident put her teeth through her lip so havent been on much
Hope S is ok Bel, the poor love!
Oh, amanda, what's the story with those photo books from BigW? I know that they're $10 atm, but is that just for the book, does it cost extra for each photo you add to the book, or what happens there??
We've been really busy and L has been having power naps during the day, which makes trying to get anything done virtually impossible. He had his 4 month old check up the other day, which went well and the nurse said he is 'just fabulous' :D. You might recall that I'd been looking for my good son who used to sleep heaps last time I posted. Well, the health nurse mentioned that it can take up to 6 weeks for a baby to get over gastro because the lining of the tummy needs to repair itself so that could be the reason he's not sleeping as well as he used to. He's slowly getting better but I just feel SO tired all the time - anyone else feeling exhausted?? Perhaps I need vitamins, or I should start taking Elevit again.
Beautiful day today, we've been to the park, the library and shopping today - then had a picnic in our backyard when we got home. We're off to the pools tomorrow. At what age can you take a baby swimming? I've forgotten! 6 months??
:wave:to everyone, and wb to some of the people who have popped in recently who we haven't seen for ages!
Well I'd better go and play with E. She has accosted the cat and is trying to play 'skippy' with it

 at the kangaroo cat:laughing:
No extra for the photos....you can have up to 140, though of the 3 we did last time, the ones with 80ish photos were best - the one I did for my parents looked a little busy (I had up to 6 photos a page..about 110 photos). You just upload the photos (my tip...put them in the order you want them and rename the file 1,2,3,4 or a b c, because otherwise it might sort them a little oddly), pick which one/ones you want on the cover, pick a 'style' - borders or not, whole page photos with others inset etc etc, pick a background, and then it'll do an auto make up...You can then go through and switch and move photos around (on the page and to different pages), add text to the pages, and play with the colouring of the photos (eg make black and white/sepia etc) .... They get printed up like a little magazine, and my parents have had nothing but fabulous comments about theirs... Make sure you've got a little while free though (but then again, that may be because I had to do some major sorting and culling...DH did 2 books in about 45 min, I took an hour for 1 :o Glad M slept at my feet!).....sorry for the big spiel - can you tell I was happy with it  (am actually going to go back and do some ones of our wedding for my parents...they have 100's of loose photos, but I can't see them ever making it to an album!!!)
Oh - and I wish I'd been taking my Elevit the whole way through - certainly has made a difference

ooh that sounds interesting about the photo books! i wish i knew about them before i just printed a whole stack up for the grandparents! I'll do that next time perhaps!
heeey mel! I was wondering where you had been! Bummer to hear you have been emo, tired, stressed etc! I totally know that drill! LOL!
awesome about the jolly jumper too! I can't wait for T to try out amandas! Although we have open plan unit too soooo if i get him one he'll only get to use it in the bedrooms! LOL!
I was going to ask what the best breastfeeding vitamins to take are... i'm still on the blackmores (when i remember!) but not sure if it's helping at all? I might investigate this Elevit!
OOOOH and i took T to a check-up because we haven't had one in aaages, and good news is he is great with weight and height! :yelclap: So i don't have to worry about his weight gain, which is a relief because i remember i felt like a looser when i was told he wasn't thriving.
Just got back from my oldies place too... i bought them a computer for helping renovate the unit i live in and helping us move too! They were sooo angry but i think happy too! hehe
OK gotta go...
Hiya to everyone else!
ust tell them now they can view 700 million photos of T and they'll be all okay with it

sorry for the big spiel - can you tell I was happy with it
Don't be sorry luvvy, that's great  you told me everything I needed to know. I'm thinking of doing a 'our family' album and a seperate 1 for E and a seperate 1 for L. :D I had to laugh at your comment 'make sure you've got a little while free', yeah right - so perhaps I'll do these books when both kids have moved out of home  I'll just have to give E heaps of food, and maybe do it right after a feed and hopefully L will doze off in the pram!!
i remember i felt like a looser when i was told he wasn't thriving.
Glad to hear little T man is doing well, and that was lovely of you to buy your folks a computer! Forgive my pathetic memory these days, but where exactly have you moved to and how far are you away from the other brissie girls now?

 Kayla, I forgot to say earlier what a cool dude J is, loved the photos you put up a few days ago. You dress him very trendy(ish), I still put L in little wondersuits alot because I think he looks too old and grown up in jeans, tops, overalls etc., I'm trying to make him look like a baby for as long as possible
If you check out the BigW website and look at the current catalogue those photo books are in there. You can do them at the photo section at Big W

Mel- Going to look at the big W site now! thanks! and thanks for the comments on Jays photos, hehe i cant help but dress him up its FUN, i do go for alot of baby looking outfits aswell as the cool little jeans, shorts, tops and overalls, who eva said dressing boys isnt fun is so wrong? Jay as too many clothes coz i cant stop buying them .
Jarvis doent fit into many baby clothes we are almost shopping in the big boy section because of some of the brands.. i find target size 0 still fit him but best n less i would compare the 0's & 1's....
Mel what size is L?
As for the photo books i did one of sienna's 1st year..

L is in 00's and 0's atm, at his check up last week he weighed 7.965kgs and was 64.5cms long. Big boys we have
happybunnypony

holy moly mel! he is a big boy!
T is only 6.2kg and 62cm .. but he was born teeny tiny so that might make a difference!
ooh i thought i replied last night about where we moved to but most of shut it down before sending! We have moved to the GoldCoast which is about an hour and a bit away from brissy mums! :)
havent weighed jarvis lately but at 3 mths he was 7.9kg and 64.5cm should weigh him again
I must have a giant here at Jacobs appointment at the hospital on Wednesday he measured 68cms and 6.3 kilos.
Will write more later as its hard to eat lunch and type
Bel- How did the results go with Jarvis' tests?
M was 6.9kg at his 4 month immunisations - will weigh hime again in another week or so
Just had to share (cause I can't tell anyone else yet...)
I just got a phone call (which I've been waiting for for AAGGGEEESSS) from my best friend, who's OS....and she's engaged :smiliedance::goodvibes: So can't wait to see her when she's here for christmas :goodvibes:
Oh and forgot to say earlier...found a new free way to entertain toddlers (for those who went with the playdough and bubbles)...also from FDC (knew I sent Charlotte there to train me to be a better Mum )
Give them a paint brush and a container of water and let them paint a wooden fence...Charlotte had an absolute ball for an hour  today!

Em does this constantly, she paints the house, the fence, the trees, the trampoline, her cubby house, the cat  etc
I forgot to mention that my MCHN told me not to start L on foods until 6 months, not 4 months like yours told you Kayla. She also said that babies shouldn't be given rusks until at least 6 months, and that they should be off bottles by 12 months and on to cows milk in a sipper cup . I'm guessing that continuing to breast feed is fine, but no more formula after 12 months apparently!! Also, water can be given to them from any time now. I'm going to try L on water in the next few weeks.
Go the hawks!!

mmmm hadn't thought about giving T water yet though. when when should i try water? Instead of a breastfeed or just as a snack?

Howdy Mel  Nice to see you back here. I thought my posting may have scared everyone away  Linc sounds like he's doing soooo well. That's really interesting what the MCHN said about how long it takes for babies to recover from gastro - I'll have to keep that in mind. Char hasn't had gastro, but man alive, her good sleeping has gone out the window. I'm a soooo tired  Though she went five hours last night, so getting back to normal hopefully.
Oh and forgot to say earlier...found a new free way to entertain toddlers (for those who went with the playdough and bubbles)...also from FDC (knew I sent Charlotte there to train me to be a better Mum)

Amanda I love you! You're so full of AWESOME ideas!! Isaac loves painting. But it's a little too messy for my liking most days. So this, is, well PERFECT!! I'm going to let him go to town while I'm out hanging the washing later on this morning. Thanks for the info on the photo books too - I did some hardcover ones through Snapfish last year when they had a free promotion, so I might go have a looksee at the Big W ones. Is the promotion available online, or just instore? Cause, like Mel, I'm going to have to wait til the kids have left home to do them
Congrats on your bestie getting engaged too! That's veeerrrry exciting. I love weddings!
mmmm hadn't thought about giving T water yet though. when when should i try water? Instead of a breastfeed or just as a snack?
I haven't given Charlotte any water yet, and Isaac didn't have water until he was about oh, um, maybe 9 months - actually, probably later than that. But if you're going to start giving it to T, I'd start doing it in between feeds. Maybe see if that stretches his feeds out a little?
And well - I don't really care who wins the AFL grand final. The Lions didn't even come close :crying:
All of your babies sound so BIG compared to Charlotte. I don't think she's even 6kg yet!! I'll have to weigh her next week. She is a month younger than some of the May babies though, so has a bit of catching up to do!
It's party weekend this weekend for us. Isaac is 2 on Monday :hissy: My little boy is getting so grown up. So because DH is working on Monday we're eating lots of naughty things and just playing and being silly and not doing any housework (except the washing!) all weekend! Were going to go to Taronga Zoo tomorrow, but it's meant to be 30 degrees, so don't know if we'll brave it or not with the two little ones in such hot weather.
Have lost a post twice so unfortunately this little one will have to do now :p
Just want to say an early happybirthday to Mr Issac - hope Toronga is great and your 2nd birthday is a blast
(Just didn't want to miss it and we're off to the coast for 4 days :yelclap:)
Well re post the rest when I get back
Hey girlies..
From day one H has had cooled boiled water the hospital said that it was good for him as he is a bottle baby not a boobie babe. Water doesnt fill babies up at all they said.....
My health nurse said the same thing start foods at 6 months not 4 im just like ok (seeings though i have already given him foods ) ohwell H is ready so i dont care... i have a midget H is 5.8kg and 59 cm :)
One more thing:
GO THE HAWKERS WOOT WOOT
I gave Cam some water the other day, just put it in the cap of my drink bottle and he licked it and had a bit of a drink. Didn't even think to have it cool boiled, whoops!
Amanda, hope you are having fun at the coast, i'm at the coast too at my folks going home tomorrow though.
Josh was eating sushi at this age that Cam is now  But by sushi i mean like a tiny bit of rice or avocado. I am definately holding Cam off and i'm not going to give him food if he can't eat it himself i.e not spoon feeding him, Josh hated being fed he wanted to hold the spoon from early on, so i just let him. Though he is a pretty poor eater now, but ahwell.
Anyways, going to enjoy the sunshine, take care all. :)
Vee
So question for all of you mummies still breastfeeding - how many times a day are your little ones feeding now? And for how long?
And a question for everyone - how long does your little one sleep for through the day, and how many times does he/she go down for a nap?
Umm well my Ds wakes up at about 8am.. feeds every 3 hours till about 8pm.. then I bath him feed him and put him down and he wakes at about 8am next day.. he flat out refuses to sleep more than 10 minutes during the day tho.. he gets so cranky and I try everything..
Sorry haven't been on in a while,.. the boys a handful.. booked into Trecsillian for the 14th.....

Morning ladies,
I am thrilled that the hawks won the grand final yesterday :smiliedance: (sorry Kayla :p) We had a great day at a friend's place yesterday, L was awesomely well behaved and E had so much fun playing with her friends. So much fun, in fact, that she decided to sleep over at her friend's house, felt very strange coming home without her and I missed her :crying: but we're meeting up with those same friends for lunch today at a winery so I'll get my girl back then :D (can't wait)!
L is asleep and I actually have some time to myself, which is lovely, so might go and have a long shower and tidy up a bit - the top 100 80's songs are playing on Foxtel (MTV) atm so I'm lovin' that. I made lasagne, coleslaw and caramel slice yesterday morning before we went out, so tonight's dinner is all taken care of.
We have moved to the GoldCoast which is about an hour and a bit away from brissy mums!
Ah yes, lovely, we usually holiday at Broadbeach, or in our family unit in Tweed Heads south (on the border of Coollangatta).
when when should i try water?
I will be starting to offer it to L between feeds in the next few weeks.
I thought my posting may have scared everyone away
Never IM, I love reading your posts and am rapt that you're posting alot more lately. I hope C has had a good few nights sleep and a massive happybirthdayto I. I hope he has a wonderful birthday. Did you end up going to Taronga Zoo? It's scary how quickly they grow up isn't it?? E will be 5 in January  and I can remember the first day I bought her home like it was yesterday. A front tooth of hers is loose and will come out soon I think and that just makes me want to cry because soon she will have one of those 'big girl toothless grins' which is totally adorable but at the same time scary as he!! because it's just another indicator that she is growing up (way too fast), and I don't want her too!! boo hoo
Anyway, better dash! Hope amanda and Vee have had a nice time up the coast and that everyone else has had a lovely weekend. RM, you still with us? Haven't heard from you for awhile! Bye

haaaaay may mummie gals!
Not much to report here..other than T has been soo cute lately! I think 4 and a half months is the cutest age everrrr! Do they keep getting cuter? Cause i just don't know if it's possible!
Whoah Xanthia, that's awesome your DS sleeps from 8 to 8! I am jealous, although i understand how frustrating that must be with the bad daytime sleeps. Good luck with Tressilian, let us know how you go!
Vee: LOL @ josh having sushi at this age! I can't imagine T chowing into some sushi or anything really!
Mel: Awww that's soo cute how you miss Em after a sleep over! You guys have such a great relationship. I imagine how protective i am going to be over T when he starts dating girls and having 'other women' in his life!! grrrr i can tell i'm going to be scrutinizing them top to bottom! lol

Hey Everyone
HBP - Geez you're a laugh! lol Could imagine you with T man's girlfriends i couldn't imagine you being harsh ever you are way to lovely!
Xanthia - Goodluck at tressillian i hope you get some relief.
Whoever asked about breastfeeding (sorry can't remember who) i feed Cam whenever, so he feeds pretty frequently. Whenever he cries he gets boob pretty much.
Cassie - Hope Dylan had a great birthday will take a look at the piccies later on.
IM - Hope Isaac has a great birthday too. :)
Emsmum - Gosh you are organised with dinner etc, sounds great, mmmm caramel slice! Em will be 5 nooo gosh that's such a big girl! Scary huh? I can't believe Josh is 3 next month, wow, gotta start organising his party.
Josh has an ear infection first time ever and he's almost three so that's not doing too bad, so he's a bit out of sorts, plus this heat, gosh! I still don't have any summer clothes that fit, i had to go and some new stuff on the weekend but it's in the wash so i'm wearing jeans and a long maternity top and i'm roasting, have to go to the shops soon thank god it's aircon'd in there.
Cam is going well, such a trooper, he has got a runny nose and teething badly but he is generally pretty good.
Anyways, better go, sorry for lack of personals.
Take care all :D
I must have a giant here at Jacobs appointment at the hospital on Wednesday he measured 68cms and 6.3 kilos.

Havent measure J or weighed him since 3 months will do that soon.. as i said he was 64.5 & 7.9kg so im curious now... he is longer then the change table now...
As for the tests we still have the DMSA to go but the others were clear..... how is Jacob ??
sorry guys have had a bad week will write later....

Vee! LOL! Yeah your right, i wouldn't be harsh... but inside i might seethe for a bit if i don't like the girl! But that is YEARS away, i can't believe i'm paranoid about it already! hehee
mmmm i hear ya about not having clothes that fit! My body shape is all out of whack! My t-shirts are pretty tight up top because my boobs are soo massive now... i never really wear clothes that um fitted lol! I think DP likes it though!
T and i hung out with Amanda and Mitchell today! It was soo great, i've got some pics, i'll upload later on! It's really good seeing bubs the same age together play... well i wouldn't really call it playing, but more hanging out! haha
Not much else to report... i made risotto tonight, and am having some of the 'cooking wine' with it! I never have a drink unless i'm with someone else... i'm home alone and it's actually not bad! :o:laughing:
Isaac's Mummy
30-09-2008, 08:05
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes for Isaac. He had a great day yesterday, met up with some other bubhubbers for a picnic in the park and a run around at the playground. He was so spoilt by all the other lovely Canberra mummies. He was sooo exhausted by the end of the day though!! We didn't end up going to Taronga - with a forecast of 33 degress on Sunday, we didn't think either of the kiddies would like it too much (not to mention mummy and daddy ).
Amanda hope you had a fabulous break down on the coast.
This is just really quick - coming back to read properly and reply to everyone this arvo - but I need to know:
What on earth do I need to pack for Charlotte to wear for our trip to Qld ?? :p:smiliedance:
YAYYYYYY!!! We're driving up this weekend. Leaving at some crazy hour of the morning on Saturday (maybe even Friday night if we're feeling okay) and will be up for a week. It's still cool enough down here to be wearing jeans and wondersuits and stuff. And all of her summery stuff is 00 size, and it's too big
Anyway, gotta go clean up disaster central (the lounge room which is covered in paper and streamers and baloons and too many toys to mention) and do some washing so we're all up to date before we leave!!
Amanda I love you! You're so full of AWESOME ideas!! Isaac loves painting. But it's a little too messy for my liking most days. So this, is, well PERFECT!!
Then it's my Family Day Carer you need to love then :p I always say that I send Charlotte to FDC to make me a better Mummy!
L is asleep and I actually have some time to myself, which is lovely, so might go and have a long shower and tidy up a bit
You're doing what  Isn't funny that we see 'free time' as a good time to tidy up...a bit of a sad reality with 2 littlies though!
Vee! LOL! Yeah your right, i wouldn't be harsh... but inside i might seethe for a bit if i don't like the girl! But that is YEARS away, i can't believe i'm paranoid about it already! hehee
T and i hung out with Amanda and Mitchell today! It was soo great, i've got some pics, i'll upload later on! It's really good seeing bubs the same age together play... well i wouldn't really call it playing, but more hanging out! haha
I'm sure her parents will be feeling the same way! My DH has requested a rocking chair and shorgun for C's 14 birthday ...and I have no doubt T is going to attract the ladies...he's like a little Nordic dude...ice blonde, with beautiful clear skin and icy blue eyes - just :cloud9: - was wonderful to see you yesterday HBP, and amazed to see that they did interact a bit even at this stage...a few wayward smiles at each other, and M muscling in to eat T's blanket ....as HBP saw, M's into putting anything into his mouth that he can...and I mean anything - you have to make sure anything paper is out of his reach (or a big diameter cause he inches his way to it)...he's taken to eating (well slobbering to death) junkmail and books...weird boy
Amanda hope you had a fabulous break down on the coast.

You are soooo brave driving!! 3 hrs in the car to MIL's place is plenty for us...we'll fly if we go further!!! The weather is so odd - yesterday it was 35  in Brisbane and today it's overcast (though still warm - high 20's)....but then it gets really breezy and a touch chilly????!?!? During the day M is in shorts and t shirts (C's currently wearing a pinafore and T shirt) though at night he is in a wondersuit/longs (though no layers underneath)...I'd say if all her clothes really are too big, it may be worth investing in just a couple of cheap t shirts and the likes...I'd say you'd get away with long bottoms if she had little tops on (or sleeves if she had a skirt/shorts on) but then again, she may really feel the heat since she's not used to it
IM - am about to pm you!
Our break was great..as well as getting to see HBP and T, we managed to score a boat trip out to South Straddie (a friend of the family turned 60 and my parents were going...they rang to wish him happy birthday and mentioned they were staying with us and we were invited along because they'd had 2 people pull out late and figured since it was already paid for it was no point having empty seats) to Hideaway Place (which was excellent), ate lots, caught up with my brother, swam and shopped - big thumbs up
we are in brisbane and the gold coast in Nov... i say pack summer clothes but a couple jackets and jumpers... gee she must be small still.. im umming and ahhring about 0's or 1's.....
Oh i didnt say happy birthday isaac you might pass us we are driving to port mac i think...
Forgot to add.. my baby girl is taking lots of steps on her own she may walk before she is 2!!

I imagine how protective i am going to be over T when he starts dating girls and having 'other women' in his life!! grrrr i can tell i'm going to be scrutinizing them top to bottom!
Oh yeah, me too ..... cause I am going to raise the 'perfect man' - manly, sporty, excellent communicator, funny, caring, good listener, compassionate, romantic, looks after himself, wears great aftershave, knows how to cook, can do his own washing/ironing if need be, has a great job AND tidies up after himself. So not 'any' woman can have him, she has to be super dooper special
I can't believe Josh is 3 next month, wow, gotta start organising his party.
Feels like just yesterday that he had his 2nd birthday, boy how times flies . Hope Josh is feeling better with his ear infection (they can be just awful, Em's had a couple in her lifetime and they really wear her out), and that Cam's gums aren't too sore. I hear ya about the clothes - I feel like a big ol' frumpy whale atm. I don't have a 'muffin top', I have a whole cake there and am feeling very self conscious (note to self: start walking and stop eating lollies). I seriously need new clothes, but every time I go shopping I buy the kids things instead :hair:. I'm dreading summer because we only have a/c in the lounge and the rest of the house gets SO hot, not fun at all!!
am having some of the 'cooking wine' with it! I never have a drink unless i'm with someone else
oh yeah, sure hbp  closet alco?? he he
He had a great day yesterday, met up with some other bubhubbers for a picnic in the park and a run around at the playground.
I'm glad I had a great birthday IM. Have a great time in Qld. You're game driving all the way from Canberra. I'm dreading driving 10 hours to Sydney at Christmas time. We'll also be leaving at some ungodly hour in the morning so the kids will, hopefully, sleep at least 1/2 of the way.
Sounds like you had a great few days away amanda.
Loved your photos cassie, you have 2 very cute kids and I'm glad to hear that Dylan enjoyed his birthday!
Not much to report here ... took E to the Art Factory on Monday, she made a beautiful jewelled mirror and a princess hat and had an absolute ball! We caught up with friends today at the park, then E and I are taking L for his very first swim on Friday - that should be interesting trying to get both of them dry and dressed, but at least E is big enough to stay in the kids pool while I get L out, dry and dress him while still being able to supervise E. Should be a challenge, but fun :yelclap:
Where is everyone?? It's so quiet in here lately!
Off to cook dinner now, bangers & mash with gravy!!
So how will he feel about an older woman...That sounds just about the sort of man DH and I will accept for Charlotte  :p....and she's pretty cute and cuddly to boot
And Bel - yeah on the stepping....I have no doubt she'll walk before 2...that a whole 8 months away!

Where is everyone?? It's so quiet in here lately!
It is quiet, isn't it Mel??!! Very, very quiet! Hellooooooo??!!
Sounds like Linc is gonna be quite a catch. Now keep Charlotte in mind for him, okay?!!
The art factory sounds like so much fun! I can't wait til Isaac is old enough to be able to do things like that. Swimming on Friday will be great too!! I bet Linc will love the water - and it's starting to be GREAT weather for jumping in the pool.
And I think the 13 hour drive to Queensland from Canberra is quite the ridiculous idea. But DH thinks it'll be a breeze. Okay honey. We'll see  Hopefully we can get the first half of the trip over and done with while the kids are still sleeping, so that should make the rest of the trip, hopefully, a little less stressful. I just don't think he realises that the kids are going to need to be fed and go to the toilet, and need to get out and not sit for 6 hours straight!! We may be doing the trip home in two days!!
Thanks for the clothing tip Amanda. I'll have to dig through Isaac's 000 stuff, and find a couple of little shorts and shirts that aren't too boyish that'll last her the week. She has some dresses, so I'll take them and some tights and a couple of long sleeve things, just in case the weather is still crazy.
It sounds like you had a fabulous time away Amanda. I'm so looking forward to coming to Qld, to get a bit of a break, to catch up with people, and to hopefully, get some SLEEP!!! Nothing like being able to palm the kids off onto doting grandparents/aunties/uncles/extended family for a couple of hours and have some MEEEEE time!
Charlotte had her 4 month needles today - a couple of days early, but didn't want to get them the day before we leave. She was such a star. No crying, no screaming, not even a whimper. It was amazing! Even the nurse was blown away. She did give the nurse a "what the heck did you just do that to me for" look after the first needle, so we thought she'd scream when the second one went in, but nothing!! How I love my little girl! I'm just so thankful, because Isaac is a bit off colour, and if she'd started screaming or crying, I don't have any doubts that he would have too.
So my little bubba is 5.75kg (sooooo little - Isaac was over 6kg at 3 months!!) and is, um, I think about 62.5 cm long. She's sound asleep now and has been for a little while, so I hope she'll have a good night tonight and just sleep off any pain or discomfort.
Gotta make the little man some dinner, and then I need to wii fit it!! Nothing like catching up with the family to inspire you to exercise! Not to mention, want to look semi-decent if I meet up Amanda and maybe the other Brissy ladies
Kyra and Jarvis had a play date today
And I think the 13 hour drive to Queensland from Canberra is quite the ridiculous idea.
I'm sure it will be fine, I don't envy you ... but I'm sure it will be lots of fun :D. Nothing like a dose of reality for your hubby. I hope the kids are good and sleep alot of the way. Yeah, a 13 hour trip could easily turn into a 15-16 hour trip with littlies, hope you don't have to stop too often. I remember driving down from Sydney to Melbourne (when we moved here), on my own as DH drove the truck down the day before, when E was 4 months old. I stopped 4 times - 3 to feed, and 1 to put her on her play mat for a look around and some fresh air. It was a pretty cruisy trip so hopefully C will be good, and I too. I hope you get to have lots of time to yourself while you're away.
Glad C handled her needles well, what a star. L will be having his next week and I'm nervous already, ha ha! Nah, he'll be fine!
Loved the pic of K & J Bel. J has beautiful blue eyes

how are you?

Give them a paint brush and a container of water and let them paint a wooden fence...Charlotte had an absolute ball for an hour  today!
I have many fond memories of my grandfather doing that for me...
yar my doc said no food until 6 months too. didn't know that about the rusks though.
Pfft I've been told food from 4 months is fine, and I've also been told NO WAY until 6 months....tell that to Rory who gets very frustrated watching everyone else eat because she wants some too! We've had her on the farex once a day for the last week and a half, she loves eating!! As soon as she sees the spoon full of Farex she opens her mouth wide and starts kicking her legs and eats every last spoonful.
happybirthday to Isaac!
I'm a really bad mother, I have no idea how much Rory weighs, I haven't taken any photo's for weeks, she's late for her injections and has been in the same outfit for two days...things have been so stressful around here I've barely had any time for her at all.
I nearly lost my milk from stress, but we're still managing to BF 3 or 4 times a day. Hopefully now I can get things back to some sort of normal.
DP is working again (HA don't know for how long), car still unregistered (about to get myself in more debt to fix it).
We got a place! Its small and has no yard, but its tidy has ducted heating and new air con, best of all the landlord doesn't mind pets! Its in a good location across the road from a vet clinic and a pub, and two doors down from the telephone exchange so I get superfast internet, and there is a primary school close by. The beach is 5 minute drive away (walking distance). So we're moving to Seaford, SOO glad we didn't end up in Frankston North (the place is seriously a hole).
Not sure when we're moving as the tenant is still there sometime in the next couple of weeks. The current tenant was there to show us through and obviousy put in a good word for us. Thanks Damien!!
Take care all!
Can you believe I STILL haven't picked up the photo's I had done back in August!!

That's good news PJ. Although it's small with no yard, at least it sounds like it has some perks - a/c, ducted heating, pub across the road  what more could you want . Seaford's a nice area, and having the beach nearby will be great for the girls. Hopefully you can try and relax to keep your milk so you can continue to feed rory. Also, she will be picking up on your stress. Is she a good baby, does she cry much? I've heard that a baby can be really restless and cry alot if the mummy is stressed, or worried about things (apparently, so my hubby was telling me yesterday, a baby has the ability to scan your pupils every 60 seconds or so, hence the ability to pick up on how you are feeling due to the size of your pupils - he saw it on the Today Show). I hope J is being a good girl and coping well with being a big sister.
L has started watching the food that I'm eating, so he might be ready for food earlier than 6 months. Em and I are taking him for his first swim this morning, should be fun :smiliedance:

PJ- glad to hear u found a place and that ur hubby is working again.
I was told to wait till 6 months to try food on nat.
emsmum- sorry i didnt get back to u about the vacuums, i called my mum and she was very busy at the time and said she would call me back and she didnt, so i forgot too. just remembered now. Did u manage to get into a godfreys store?
Kayla - Its bittersweet they are growing up hey! Soooo cute and more fun now they are more little people than little tiny babies it amazing how quick it happens!
Cassie - I was told to wait until 6 months too but i havent he like his food and eats well and what my health nurse doent know wont hurt her! I dont like most of the advise she gives me anyway. Hope you and your kidlets are well!
Mel - I need to book Hunter in for swimming lessons hope yous have fun!!! We definatly need to do lessons as we have a feature pool which means no fences.... MIL is thinking of getting fences done and self closers on the doors as it is right at the back door in the courtyard - it s a massive spanish house on lots of acres with a dam also so lessons are a definate need here!
PJ - I think we all have down days i know it must be hard with 2 and trying to find a place at the same time but im glad you got a place now it should get easier for you!
Well best be off crystyanne (a GF) is here
Much love xxx
PJ show us pics when you move in....
we looked at a house last week im still very undecided.....
kayla.. do you need clothes for J?
I have to weigh Jarvis again as i will have to turn him in the car soon he is too big... he is 4mths now but just getting too big sienna hopefully isnt to far off walking so im trying to squeeze him into the capsule for a couple more week

Wow Jaylen is 5 months aready! Time does go fast...
Do you rent Bel, or are you looking at buying? We're hoping that property drops with all the stuff going on in America, it may be our only chance to buy. Not that either of us can get a loan, inheritance is the only way we'll ever own a home.
Every open house we went to, there was at least 10-20 other families applying for the same house. We just found out we can't move until the 30th so we now have to pay another month for this place. I'd say the rent here will be going from $270 to $320 after they renovate. I think we'll be signing a 2 year lease so Jasmine may be going to Belvedere Park Primary, its about 4 blocks away. At least if there is anything wrong with the cats we only have to take them across the road to the vet! I'm thinking about getting a casual job, a few hours a day or something. Shane will be home until 3pm so it gives me the oppurtunity to either return to study at TAFE, or go work.
Mel- Rory seems to be fine, she's been sleeping longer at night and still smiling heaps. Things have been calmer this week.
DP is doing afternoon shift so wont be around in the evenings which makes things a bit hard for me. I just have to be more organised I guess. He's off to Albury and back tonigth so probably wont be home before 1am.
I was just looking into schools....what do these Like ratings mean?? Apparently a Like 8 school is for low socio-economic and low ESL...ok thats something that is going to require some research.
Shesus - it has been VERY quiet in here!!!
Kayla - Its bittersweet they are growing up hey!
Yep! And I have to sadly (well not really) announce that we have a rocker  What happened to my helpless little baby :crying: !! M has always been a strong boy, but as of yesterday he's on on his hands and knees and madly rocking away (quite funny actually as he looks like he's madly humping everything )...Charlotte was still 2 months away from this last time!! Very very sad that he's not 'little' even though he's very proud of his new trick
I'm thinking about getting a casual job, a few hours a day or something. Shane will be home until 3pm so it gives me the oppurtunity to either return to study at TAFE, or go work.

I think that would be a wonderful opportunity for you to do soemthing for you PJ - if there's something you'd love to look at for the future, the study would be great, but even if you could get a casual 10 hours a week somewhere would give you a gew hours to yourself (getting to talk to real adults :yelclap: LOL) as well as having some extra cash, and giving you a break from your girls so that you are recharged and ready to spend time with them
Can't be 100% sure, but here in QLD, 'Like' schools refer to the group of schools that have the same sort of factors (eg size of schools, facilities on offer, subjects offered, no of teachers, background of parents etc etc), the low ESL, will be the fact that there are a low % of students who have English as their second language (so most kids at school speak English primarily ... less immigrants in the area/school)
Hey everyone
Amanda, that's so cute about Mitchell, i could just imagine what it would look like, too funny!
Cam is good, some days i hardly hear a peep out of him, he's so quiet most of the time lately, just really content and happy, he's so luffly.
Not sure how much he weighs either, but close to 7kg i reckon.
Anyways, it's getting late and better get to bed.
Sorry haven't been in here in a while, my life is very boring at the moment and have nothing to share really! lol
Forgot to add earlier
Emsmum (and IM though I do know you may or may not read this in time..and probably not workable since you won't have all your photos) - Big W Online has the photobooks on special this week - so much more child friendly for you....they're 9.98 until midnight on Wednesday (9th) :fingerscrossed: you get some time between now and then (I think I might have to have a go and see if it's easier or harder to do online - just for future reference)
And V8 and Rynosmum....have seen you both around, but not in here - hope all is well...Will be in touch with you both if IM gets in touch with me to say that she has a little spare time, just to see if you're free to catch up as well
 Sorry V - I was obviously typing while you posted - Good to see you around
Hello Girls
I havent been writing much lately so thought i would drop in to say hello and tell you what has been happening in my life lately....
Last time i logged on and wrote to you i forgot to tell you my most exciting news my best friend had her baby!
She had a boy he was 7pd 10 51.5cm long with a HC of 34. he is a little cutie his name is Ryder he was born on the 1st October yay hunter has a play mate!!!
Hmm other than that nothing exciting has been going on that was my main news my GF Crystyanne is coming over this afternoon as she is going back home today she lives in Wagga Wagga NSW
Im just uploading pics to facebook and myspace at the moment Hunter is watching Mickey Mouse haha he loves it
My little update on Hunter he is very happy noisy little baby he is constantly cooing away to himself its funny how many different noises he can make lol but he is quite happy to sit there talking to himself while i am cleaning or on here lol he can now roll from his back to his tummy aswell as tummy to back its crazy how quickly they grow up

emsmum- sorry i didnt get back to u about the vacuums
That's ok, I ended up just getting a $200 vacuum from Kmart for now. I'm pretty happy with it
it s a massive spanish house on lots of acres with a dam also so lessons are a definate need here!
The place you live at sounds gorgeous! Definately get Hunter into swimming lessons if you have an unsecured pool, and the dam. L liked swimming the other day, but it was quite challenging getting both of them dressed afterwards (although Em is relatively self sufficient these days). Glad to hear that your friend had her baby, cute name!
I was just looking into schools....what do these Like ratings mean??
I have no idea .... never even heard of it, sorry!
Yep! And I have to sadly (well not really) announce that we have a rocker
 OMG, really? L hasn't even rolled over yet and he's nearly 4.5 months. We give him heaps of tummy time, put toys just out of his reach so he'll hopefully try to grab them but all he wants to do is put his fist into his gob .
Emsmum (and IM though I do know you may or may not read this in time..and probably not workable since you won't have all your photos) - Big W Online has the photobooks on special this week - so much more child friendly for you
Yes, I did see that but thanks for letting me know amanda. I've managed to arrange the photos I want to do for Lincoln's album, now I have to upload them all and that's the time consuming part when you have to load 1 photo at a time  It will be much easier to do it at home because when I did one at the store last week L cracked a wobbly and E needed to go to the toilet after about 5 mins, so I wasn't happy!! Now, I just have to try and find a spare 40 mins or so to do it at home. When E's at kinder, or when they're both in bed at night time will be the only time I can get to do it because I feel guilty being on the computer all the time when E's home. I only have her home with me for a few more months then she'll be off at school :hissy:, but hopefully I'll get some time if I get all the company tax stuff done first. Dilemna's, dilemna's, dilemna's!! I seriously need more hours in the day.
 OMG, really?
but all he wants to do is put his fist into his gob .
Yes :crying: it's not meant to happen yet!!! And we get the gob sucking for the other 23 hours a day!

I agree with needing more hours and taking advantage of sleep time - it's the only way we get anything done around here!

HII EVERYONE!
havnt been on here in a while, although it doesnt seem like much is happening here anyways.
just a quick update on Kyra.
She is now just over 4 months and shes getting bigger now. shes nearly 6kg and 62cm long.
i have started her on solids as her weight isnt exactly what it should be(although now she is back up to the 50 percentile) and the paed and my gp both said it was the best thing to do. and i tell ya what... she loves her food! shes doing so well, was a little unsure about it at first, but shes great with it. shes having about a teaspoon and a half. tonight i am starting to mix puree into the farex so we will see how she goes.
please dont judge!
you guys were talking about rusks... i honestly think if Ky had one, she would force it down her throat. shes chews on everything she gets her hand on... she was chewing my cheek yesterday. haha
we had a bit of a mess happen the otherday... we were going out to dinner and just as we turned up, i was just about to get ky out of the car seat and she decided she wanted to projectile vommit all over it. so she was covered in vommit and so was the carseat! grrr what a mess... AND DP REFUSED TO CLEAN IT. so i had to. ewwww it was gross!
umm, DP is going back to work at the end of this week i think, going to work for his uncle, so the money will be great for us. lets just hope it all pans out!
just a couple of pics for you guys!

hope all is well!
Great pics Lauren, she is so cute. Good to hear she is enjoying her solids, i think whatever works for you you know? I am only hesitant to introduce solids as im suspicious Cam already has allergies sensitivities due to his excema. But he is also thriving still being breastfed so i can hold off a few more months still i think.
Can't believe our bubs will be 5 months old this month, well some are already. :smiliedance: So cute! Feels like ages ago that we were pregnant.
Cam is a bit snotty, and coughing, has been for a week but docs said it's viral nothing you can do for it, poor love. Think we are all run down i needed a nanna nap this arvo after taking Josh to a playcentre.
Amanda - If you catch IM that would be awesome, have you been to Chipmunks at Lawnton yet? It's amazing, we went there today with Josh. Actually need to PM you an idea i had for the 4th of Nov (Joshy's 3rd birthday). How hot is it getting hey?? Boy oh boy! Pools and indoor centres will be my friend this summer!
Mel - Oh gosh, you poor thing not long now till little E will be at school, glad you got swimming organised with the two, you are amazing.
Anywho, in the middle of cooking dinner, best go and check on it.
Should share some pics later, just gotta see if i got any good ones.

Cam is a bit snotty, and coughing, has been for a week but docs said it's viral nothing you can do for it, poor love.
We had that last week - C did end up on Antibiotics (got worse), but we managed to keep M's at bay
Am hoping IM does have some free time, especially since she's likely to be out our way (but as I said to her, I completely understand what it's like to do the family trip)...I just hope they managed to survive the car trip  I'll let you know if I hear from her. No haven't been there (not even sure where it is), or Juggling (Jiggling??) Jacks - though C has been there twice with Family Day Carer.
It is hot (but worse, very still) - I still don't know if I've dressed M appropriately tonight! I don't want him getting cold either. We had some friends over yesterday and DH set up a 'slip and slide' in the backyard, lots of detergent and a few buckets of water...probably doesn't strictly fit under the water restrictions, but we're good otherwise, and more importantly the kids (and the Dad's ) had a ball. I just wish we knew someone out here with a pool - there's one in my parents and good friends apartments, but they're a bit far to travel to, and my SIL has one, but she also has random housemates, so I don't feel comfortable just rocking up....will have to work on that one :p
And great photos of Ky!
Took some video of the rocking today, so once DH sticks it up, I'll post it and give you all a good giggle
Chipmunks is on Gympie road Lawnton, i drove up and down and ended up in Strathpine cause it was that hard to find! Basically because the road veers to the right yet there are still shops if you go straight, so it's past Jiggling Jacks and on that side of the road, you just gotta follow it near to the end. It was massive and amazing, never seen anything like it!
Saw it today as I dropped DH at work...only 100m apart from JJ which seems odd to me ..have you been to JJ's as well...which one's better? I've only ever taken C to the one at Chermside where Joshy played the first day we all met, so I'm sure pretty much all of them are more advanced than that
Amanda - We've been to both JJ's and now Chipmunks, and it really depends i guess on the child and what they are into, the playground at JJ's has basically the same apparatus as what they have at Chermside, they also have a small jumping castle and some little toys and things, it's good for little kids or ones who aren't confident climbing etc. Also JJ's don't do food but you are allowed to bring your own. Chipmunks has a cafe but you have to pay obviously and also the climbing things are like 3 stories high, they have this massive big blow up slide aswell as 3 really long slides (like 2-3 levels high). They have a play area for real littles, an area for under 5's and then the rest of the joint is just a massive maze of play equipment. It's great but you really have to have a confident kid that you can just let go and play and climb and things like that, or just try and get them to stick in the under 5 area. They also had this padded piano so you can jump all over the keys and play music, it was so cool, big kids can have fun too ;) haha!
Do you rent Bel, or are you looking at buying? We're hoping that property drops with all the stuff going on in America, it may be our only chance to buy. Not that either of us can get a loan, inheritance is the only way we'll ever own a home. .
We own our home just looking at a bigger one.... it has an extra study and an extra living room..... but you have plenty of time to buy.
Lauren by the way my high chair still smells.. any idea how to get the smell out ive been told to try a citrus based cleaning product.... will put the photos up later of Ky and her 1st foods minus the chucking up part
I hope we don't have a repeat of last night, Cam hasn't been interested in feeding, and screamed pretty much all night, we'd get about 15min sleeps out of him then he'd wake screaming again, it was awful. He is not his normal happy chappy self and it's sad, he is just so precious i don't like him being in pain. Only got about an hours sleep.

Hellooooooo lovely ladies
We survived the drive to Queensland :D The kids were both awesome, so it was really great. I'm still exhausted from the drive though - I've been taking advantage of being able to   through the day the last couple of days while I've had someone else to look after the little ones!!
Amanda and Vee, we're looking at coming up to Petrie on Sunday, but being a weekend, and knowing how important family time is for everyone, if you guys are busy, totally understand. I'm not sure at this stage whether we're driving ourselves in, or getting a lift with the in-laws. If we're driving ourselves, I'll have the car and will be able to escape for an hour or two!! I'm trying to convince hubby to drive up on the Saturday, and stay the night somewhere up there, that way I have a better chance of being able to take off for a little while and hopefully meet up with you girls
Can't believe M is rocking  That is soooo scary!! Charlotte has started the whole bum in the air, legs going up under her when she's on her tummy trying to move around. Not liking it one bit! LOL! You're my baby, stop trying to grow up too quickly!!!
Haven't had a chance to look at any of the pictures that have been posted of the May babies lately, the internet connection here is soooo slow I want to poke myself in the eye trying to log on!! Thanks for the tip about the photobooks too Amanda. We brought the laptop with us, so I actually have a ridiculous amount of pictures here, we're going into Bris today to see Dad, so might excuse myself for an hour, borrow his internet connection and try and get a couple done!! Hi Dad, nice to see you, excuse me while I borrow your internet, feel free to play with the kids!!!
Okay, well gotta get the little ones ready for the drive.
Hi to everyone else, sorry for no real personals, Isaac is driving his car on the keyboard and driving me bananas, so I'm thinking he probably wants some attention!!
Issac's Mummy - do still let me know (I'll text this to you if I don't see you on between now and the weekend)... My DH is at a State Cricket Carnival from Sat-Tuesday, so it'l be no issue at all for me..already trying to work out what I'm going to do to occupy myself!
V - if you haven't already, I'd go and check him out for an ear infection....that's exactly how I would have described Charlotte when she had one as a baby...and if not, it'll be good to at least clear it as an option
Bec you're so sweet thinking that we have 'family time' hehe ahhh nope we spend 24/7 together weekends aint anything special here! Would love to catch up with you guys if you are heading up to Petrie, Amanda might have some good ideas of where to meet! lol
Amanda - Cheers for that too i think i should ring the doc again just incase as last week he didn't have an ear infection (Josh did though) and now he isn't unsettled but just sleepy and quiet, poor thing, should try and get him seen tomorrow or something.

Hi everyone!
Had to share, I just had a real estate agent knock on my door and ask me when I'm moving....and its not the agent we currently rent with. We called our agent and let her know, she was very intrigued as to why an agent from another real estate was knocking on our door. I suspect the landlord aren't renovating at all and are just using that as en excuse, hence they are going through another agent...we shall see.
Will update on Rory later, I've been flat out cleaning for the last 4 days, I don't think I've worked so hard in a while!

That sounds a little mysterious! :detective:....isn't it so disheartening to spend so much time cleaning somewhere that you're not staying! But I guess you just have to hope that the effort is being put into the place you're moving into too (and more importantly that you get your whole bond back)
BTW - I didn't repost the 'like' schools info in your other thread...hope you saw it in here
V - it's probably not that then if he has already been cleared of a ear infection - hope it's been a better day. I actually went to the docs today - I've got a sinus infection (never had one before) and it KILLLLLSSSSS I've been trying just to hold out and see if it got better, but last night I had to prop myself up with pillows cause it killed me to lie down, so figured I better get it sorted...am on antibiotics now - sounded completelty paranoid asking him 3 times if they were compatible with breast feeding ...hope they kick in soon, cause I'm spending tomorrow night dancing on tables up at our Year 11 camp (can't wait...I've done it for 5 years now, and love it...looking foward to seeing my Dance kids too! Just hope Mitchell stays asleep and easy for mum, as I'm still not convinced by him and EBM)

I know, the cleaning is depressing, but at least I know the current RE wont complain! I think she's sort of on our side now, after being told about the other RE knocking on my door. Thanks, I didn't realise it was you that replied, LOL I'm on another planet lately. As for the nasal infection, OMG they are so painful! I had one years ago, I was fine laying down but as soon as I sat up I would get the worst pain in my head. I feel for your! Hope you get better soon :hugs:
Yes Bel I got the name of the place, silly guy was wearing a jumper with the name written on it. Didn't take long to google the agent and there was a picture of him on the website. Since there are a few things that don't come under wear and tear, we've offered to give them part of the bond, we'd fix things ourselves but don't have the cash money to do it. Minor things really, the carpet we had to pull part of it up to replace the underlay (flooded the bath) so there is a seam in the carpet that needs stitching.
The carpet is at least 20 years old (you can tell by the date on the newspaper that is underneath the carpet in the kitchen), I've been told it has to be replaced every 10 or so years. I'll be happy once we finally move! I'm going to give the new place a good clean before I unpack everything, the guy had two very large dogs, there's always hair stuck somewhere. Hopefully the carpet was cleaned properly and the new place won't smell like wet dog! Pretty sure the current tenant was gay, gay guys are usually pretty clean I guess.
I've got some photo's to post later, but need to jump in the shower right now. I forgot my computer is still an hour behind!
Dh's uncle put her in the sand at the beach she hated it he then went and poured sand on her feet she made him take it off.....
Charlotte hates sand too! At FDC, she sits outside the sandbox, using tools to shovel sand into buckets/whatnot - doesn't like the feel of it on her anywhere obviously

Looks like I wont get a chance to post those pictures today...I'm so mad at DP right now. It doesn't matter what I do, or what I say he keeps spending money like it grows on trees. I've tried locking my card away, he gets mad. I've tried explaining, begging and compromising. Its all for nothing, he just goes ahead and does what he wants anyway. I'm fed up with it, its his fault we can't afford to fix the car or get is registered, so he keeps getting more fines that we can't pay.
What do I do? He just doesn't get it and I can't sleep at night because I'm constantly worrying about how we are going to pay off $2000 worth of bills and credit card debt, as well as come up with the first months rent for the new place in 3 weeks!!:hair:
Every time I get mad at him, he gets mad back and makes it all my fault, saying I make his life miserable etc, etc.
I really needed to vent...I have to do something because I just can't take this anymore. Its the same story every time, I'll change, I'll stop spending. I'm really at a loss as to what to do other than bide my time and put up with it until I'm in a position to get a place of my own and be able to support two kids. Only way I can do that is by finishing my degree. Sigh...
Some hugs PJ :hugs::hugs: Vent away!
Just a suggestion, is there any room in your budget for your other half to get an 'allowance' to spend as he wishes?? (even if not until after you move)
I only asked, because this has solved a lot of DH and my financial grating (I'm a saver and he likes his toys and golf :p)....when I went on leave for C, we came to the comprimise that we'd each get $100 a fortnight to use as we saw fit - so that was any take-away we ate (normal food done seperately), going out with mates, golf for him, clothes, presents for our families (so he still has to budget some), any fines (not that we've had any, touch wood) etc etc - at the time I saw it as extravagent, and knew that if things got tight it would disappear, but 2 years later we still do it. It's made me relax a bit about money and actually spend some on the occassional treat, and DH has got much better rationing his - and meant that we no longer stress each other out (though does look odd if we go to a fast food joint and we order seperately ) - just an idea anyway
Am looking foward topiccies when you do get a chance :hugs:

Hi All! Sorry I haven't been around too much - always seem to say that I want to come back and do a big post 'later' but later never seems to come..
Siana is growing up so fast. No rocking though (Holy heck Amanda!!!).
No guilt or judgements from me MJ, little Siana has been having food now for the past couple of weeks. Still mostly farex and formula but mixing it now with fruits/veges that I've pureed as well. She just had her dinner which was 3 ice-cubes of apple puree, a couple of tablespoons of farex plus formula - she polished off the bowl and wanted more:p Now she wants another breastfeed - she's a great eater.
She's worked out the rolling now but only does it on the odd occasion from back to front. She loves her big brother - he makes her laugh so much. Sleeping is still a challenge at night. Always at least one wakeup and up at 4am for the day but mostly 2 wakeups plus the 4am. It's okay though - I get a heap done in the morning now  She goes down easily enough though so I can't complain there.
Busy busy here - S's Christening is on the 19th and I go back to work on the 20th. Heaps to do - must go now!
S is napping now, Ry is running riot with his spiderman, DH is in the kitchen as one of his mates has invited himself to dinner
Might go and hang out the washing.
Cam was crawling on our bed today, went from one side to the other. :yelclap: He is so clever.
Both boys have ear infections, Josh has been vomiting and Cam also has a throat infection, they are both on antibiotics, i am also sick. :( Bugger!
Amanda - You poor thing, sinus infection sounds painful, my sinuses are so blocked up it's giving me a headache, i hate it, i hope you get better soon.
PJ - Gosh very stressful indeed, sounds like your DH hasn't learnt his lesson and still hasnt, how very frustrating. :hugs: :hugs:
Rynosmum - Wow busy indeed can't believe you have to return to work soon, geez that's come around quickly, i hope Siana's christening goes well. :hugs:
BBL - Josh wanting to get out of the bath.

It seems like forever since i have posted in here, im missing chatting to you all.
Here is an update on Jaylen and i:
Jaylen is a very talkive, happy, cheeky little boy, his always laughing and smiling, his also the biggest sook haha. Jay is sleeping through the night, having 3 to 4 naps a day, i can see 4 teeth in his gums which i wish would hurry up and come through, Jay has his good days and his bad days as most babies do. Im so inlove with him and enjoying everyday i spend with him. Jaylen is yet rolling or doing anything like that, which is sad and im always thinking umm wats wrong with him, im always asking my mum if his "normal" or if there is something wrong, his very advanced in talking tho he can say "arr boo", scream, and make amazing sounds. Jay isnt yet on soilds and not showing any signs of needing something other then milk, he doesnt drink much of his bottles only between 90 to 120mls 5 times a day, i wish he would drink more, not sure if i will start solids at 6 mths or wait longer as im already worried about the amount his drinking.
Well better stop there im probley boring you all, sorry for no personals, i havent been reading the thread but will go back and have a read now.
Hope everyone is well.

Sorry the kids aren't feeling well Vee:hugs:
Kayla, Jaylan sounds like he is doing so well - that's great!
I forgot to say, yesterday S looked like she had a tooth coming through and it popped by lunchtime. Funny thing that the 2nd one looked close this morning and popped by this afternoon:eek: The first has pulled back a bit but definitely 2 little teeth there. I love her gummy smile though!:(

She's in the midst of teething at the moment, so we've had some very late nights. We're still on the farex, we've introduced a bit of banana but nothing else yet. Still not rolling or crawling, but I'm in not hurry for her to. I think she has finally gone off to sleep while I've been on here.Time to go to bed!
Hi Rynosmum long time no hear!!
Kayla.. we were told to start Jarvis on solids early as his GP was worried he wasnt drinking enough... Jarvis loves his food... he ate a roast dinner the other night... welll tiny cut up pieces..
Well it finally happened Jarvis is now legally too big for the capsule so we have to buy sienna a new car seat so he can have her one.... so i will hold him out another 2 weeks so i can turn him at 5 mths

Bel- I was told by my paed that every baby is different and not to worry about the amount Jay is drinking, my paed explained it that some people eat more then others, Jay is just a little bird feeder. He also said not to start soilds while his not drinking much as millk is the most important thing for 12 mths, u only start them at 6 mths or less to get them use to taste, texture and eating. Its funny how different doctors, child health nurses, paeds all tell u different things.
PJ- Rory is gorjus! would love to meet up with u both again when u r feeling upto it.
Rynosmum- Yay for S getting 2 teeth!!!
Forgot to ask you hows the whole problem with the birth certificate and Jaylens father going?
Oh and Jarvis' paed is the same he said not to start him until 6 mths... His Gp said no way start him now!!

Hi ladies,
I don't really have much time to chat or do personals because I'm 'supposed' to be working on our company's tax!!
I love her gummy smile though!
I know what you mean about lovin' the gummy smiles :D me too, I was only looking at a pic of L yesterday thinking 'I will miss that gummy smile'. We don't have any teeth yet but they musn't be too far away because L never has his fist out of his mouth these days! Love your new avatar pic of Miss S, gorgeous!! I hope her christening goes well and that you're not feeling too stressed.
Jarvis loves his food... he ate a roast dinner the other night... welll tiny cut up pieces..
 OMG, that is unreal. I couldn't even fathom the idea of giving L meat for at least another 6 months or so. Was the meat pureed or just cut up? That's amazing Bel.
When we had our capsule removed the guy who fitted it said it's best to keep the kids in their carseats, reversed, for as long as possible cause it still is the safest position for their little necks if you have an accident. I don't think we'll be turning L until about 9 months or so.
Vee, what a champ C is for crawling across the bed. Very clever!
L still isn't rolling, too busy sucking on his fists, but he does manage to do a full circle if you put him down on his back, and he has now started wriggling out of his wrap and thrashing his arms/legs about until he ends up down the other end of the cot, like M was doing awhile back amanda! If I say 'can I have a kiss Lincoln?' he opens his mouth wide, it's just way too cute! Still no food for L, only milk at this stage but he keeps watching me when I eat, he seems happy enough with just milk atm. He chats flat out and is very noisy. He's averaging about a 6.5hr night sleep, so sleeping from 8pm until 2.30(ish), then 3.30am until 6.30am so I'm pretty happy with that. We did have one night last week where he slept right through, 8pm until 5.30am but I think he was having a growth spurt. E is back to all her activities now that school hols are over so we are busy, busy, busy again. I just booked 2 tickets to see 'The Fairies' in December, so that should be fun.
Well I'd better run, just wanted to say hi and give a little update!
PJ - thanks for the piccies - very cute! The girls seem to look quite different from each other...is that the case IRL or just in the photo? M and C looked similar in baby photos, but look quite different now
Hi All!
Siana is growing up so fast. No rocking though (Holy heck Amanda!!!).
:wave:RM - that definitely is a good eater!! All 's hd so far is a few pages of a colouring book left in his reach  He is very active and makes his way across a room to get to something he wants...just shoves (commando style) and rolls till he gets there. I was thinking he was way ahead of Charlotte but when I went back and checked, she was on hand and knees at 22 weeks (he was 21 weeks) but she was also sitting unaided at 19  Must bred them strong around here (yet she didn't walk till 16 month...go figure??)
Do you think you'll have time for lunch/a cupa next week?
Both boys have ear infections, Josh has been vomiting and Cam also has a throat infection, they are both on antibiotics, i am also sick. :( Bugger!
.
Clever boy Cam! Bad news with the boys, but at least now you know and can treat so that all can go back to normal

! If I say 'can I have a kiss Lincoln?' he opens his mouth wide, it's just way too cute!
That's very very cute Mel! That's our plan for the car seat too. M's 7.5 kg, so still has a bit to go in the capsual (though is long, so is starting to look a little cramped). We'll then get C a new carseat and M will go into her's reversed for a few months (From memory her's was up till 10kg, so should see us till after christmas)
M's currently going off like a frog in a sock in his jolly jumper, but it's probably time to come out, so will go...hope everyone else is well

heey all... yar i haven't been on in a while either! beeen way too busy to do much chatting...
PJ: cuuuute pics! your girls are gorgeous... i hope you and your DP can work out some solution to the money dramas. It would be great if you guys could have some alone time maybe... get the relationship back on track :hugs:
RM: yar Tyler has at least one wake up but mostly always 2 or more during the night, however he doesn't start the day at 4am! you poor thing! During the night i always do lie down feeds with T and he drifts off laying down that way... maybe try that with S?
Kayla: sounds like Jaylen is right on track with everything... i'm sure he'll be rolling in no time, but i know what you mean about being concerned... totally understandable, but i'm sure he'll be doing it soon! My friends DS is over six months and not rolling so try not to worry too much :)
Vee: wow that's great Cam is crawling around the bed already! holy moly! :yelclap:
Amanda: HAHA my DP is the same with money! It's soo hard being the saver of the relationship. DP would spend every last penny on anything really! It's hard me not working, i want to take control of his money... but i don't want to be a haager i guess! That's great that M is doing comando style crawling!! woowoo!
Mel: awww soo cute about L and the kisses!!
We are still only boob feeding T too.... no food yet, i think i want to hold off till at least 6 months. He seems to be thriving well on just milk!
Bel: YIKESS i can't believe that about the roast!!
Things with T are going good! he's such a cutie pie! He's rolling around lots and i think he's wanting to start crawling soon... wont be long, but i don't mind that he isn't yet! He's getting antsy a fair bit lately and chomping down hard on things everyone thinks it's teething, so who knows... but i did buy some rusks yesterday for him and he seemed to enjoy it. I'm also putting him in the high chair after his floor play time and he loves it up there... it's great, i can pop him in it next to me and sit on the computer and get some work done! hehee
Gotta go, makin some satay chicken for lunch... well reheating leftovers! YUM!!
Mel.. lots to say but it 11.30pm i ate KK donuts and cant sleep but my kids will be up in a couple of hours :hair:
The roast.. it was torn up little tiny pieces of pork, chicken and silverside not alot just a bit and potato and pumpkin he loved it...
Sienna never ate pureed food just tiny cut up pieces of food just like jarvis... as in tear tiny pieces off
My friend gave him chocolate cake at the party the other day.. a crumb... hmm he is only 4 mths but he starred her down as he wanted more... no no......
As for the car seat.. Jarvis is only legally aloud to stay in the capsule until 70cm... which is now... sienna is getting a maxi rider which holds 8kg-26kg and jarvis will get her seat in 1.5weeks when he will be 5 mths ...
Today we were at Aldi and the lady asked if my cheese the laughing cow.. i love that cheese its soft as a spread and pieces depending how you like it... well she said does he like that is it for him.. i looked at her and said i didnt think kids could eat it.. she said yes my grandson loves them and i asked but how old is he??? she replied only 6 mths.. i said Jarvis is 4 mths she said he isnt is he.....

Amanda... Jarvis has the safe n sound capsule which only holds up to 9kg or 70cm.. thats why he has to come out!! If we had a car accident we wouldnt be legally insured as he is too big.. but scary as he is 4.5mths
Hi Girls
Just a quick post.
Cute pics PJ - your girls are just gorgeous!
amandaw - after my last post, you asked if I was heading back to work anytime soon. While we're interstate from all our families I'm going to be a SAHM. We'll revise if/when we move back to QLD.
hpb- Bella loves her rusks too.
EmsMum - Bella loves kisses too, she opens her mouth when I go to kiss her. If I kiss her all over her face and on her neck (if I can find it under the fat rolls!) she starts giggling - it's so cute.
Bel - I'm just amazed at how well Jarvis is eating. Bella only has pureed pumpkin, farex and cooked pureed apple at the moment.
Kayla - sounds like Jaylen is doing really well.
IM - Guess what? I was actually in Canberra last weekend, and you weren't there. How was your trip?
Vee - How's it going with Cam's skin? Any improvement?
A big Hi  to everyone I missed!
Last week was the worst we've ever had, but things are definitely much better now. It started with Gastro (Bella), then Mastitis (Me) and we've been struggling to get Bella's eczema under control for weeks. On Friday we saw a specialist and it turns out that my darling little girl has a severe dust mite allergy, and is also being tested for food allergies when we go back to the dermatologist in a month. So, she's on antibiotics for the infected skin, and also 2 different types of steroid creams, and we have a very strict list of how to bathe her, launder her clothes and linen, and how to minimise the environmental triggers. Looks like DH will be vacuuming every couple of days! Anyway, I'm pleased to report that I think I have my happy little camper back - we've seen such an improvement since Friday it's been incredible. It's going to be a challenge, but I'm just so glad to finally see an improvement after trying almost everything anyone suggested.
Anyway, hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!
Ciao!
That makes perfect sense Bel - though after seeing C sitting in a Maxirider yesterday (we just went to check them out, then I can get prices Mon for the best deal) at 13ish kg's I'd hate to see 6mo (8kg) in one - they just don't look all snuggled and safe
 Cindy - that sounds truely awful - for both of you (touch wood no mastitis here either time). I can say that I was so relieved when M's wasn't diagnosed as excema...after having such a laid back kid as Charlotte, I think one which required 'special work' would drive me nuts. At least I suppose you'll have the cleanest house around ...wanna send your DH my way after he's finished you place :p. The best thing though is that now you know the triggers (or will when they also check food ones) you can do your best to minimise your contact, and therefore make everyone's life easier
Hey mel...have seen one of your other posts...anythin you're not telling us :p

Hey mel...have seen one of your other posts...anythin you're not telling us :p
ooohhh i want to no haha :detective:
Oh what's the goss with Mel's post, have to go and search for it! lol
Cindy - Cam's skin is bad we have been bumped up at the Childrens hospy to get seen in 2 weeks, am interested to hear how they found out what Bella was allergic to or how they did it, i seem to think they won't do any allergy testing for Cam. The only thing that works is Cortizone cream every frikken day, otherwise even after one or two days it's red, inflamed and bumpy again, just awful for him. If we knew what triggered it we would be more the wiser of how to stop the outbreaks.
Bel - Wow Jarvis must be getting big, bit scary as he's only 4.5 months, he'll be overtaking Sienna soon! lol
Mel - Yeah can't believe he made his way over the other side of the bed. He really enjoys standing up too, we have to hold him obviously but he loves looking around. The highchair is also a bit of a favourite as he's our height then. :D
Anyways, ignoring my folks that are here and supposed to be cooking dinner (Vegetable lasagne) haven't made it since i was in high school so i hope it turns out ok.
BBL :)

Mel- r u pregnant? ;)
 sorry I created the stir Mel....no doesn't appear to be - just looking at contraception options
Mel we're in the same boat. DH is more than ready to go and get the snip (he says no more...and this is the same guy that faints at the sight of his ownm finger bleeding ) but I've asked him to at least wait till M turns 1 (which is when I fell with Charlotte...just to see if he's changed his mind.) My ob gave me a mini pill prescription at my 6 week check up, but I'd heard such average things about it that I never got it filled
Bugger about Cam V...I'd actually assumed he was on the mend since you hadn't said anything about it lately. Hopefuilly the next 2 weeks pass really quicly for you. Is it still just on his cheeks?
Kayangel

amandaw- the pill didnt work for me, Jay is proof of that and i have heard so many others getting pregnant on the mini pill.
Amanda - Yeah Cam's skin just isn't getting better, well not on it's own anyways, constantly having to use the steroid cream which is not good for him, so will be interesting to see what they have to say this time. Also re-contraception, i have no idea what to use, so i just don't do it! haha I'm too scared!
Im booked in for a mirena next week with my medical condition i cant have the pill etc.. my Ob wants me to try the mirena then decide if i want an Op he prefers when the kids are a little older so i can recover..
Cindy i hope this week is better for you.....:hugs:
Amanda - sienna has a safe n sound premier so just perfect for Jarvis.. the lady where we hired the 2 capsules from said she has seen people put 6mth olds in the maxi she thinks it crazy too.... perfect for sienna as she is only 12kg
Kayla... i asked before you may have not seen it.. hows the birth cert situation and J's Father going?

Kayla... i asked before you may have not seen it.. hows the birth cert situation and J's Father going?
Sorry Bel, i must have missed that.
I got Jaylens birth cert 3 weeks ago, it doesnt have Jays dads name on it as he wouldnt sign after being asked many times by me, my lawyer and BD&M's but when i get either a court order or DNA i will be getting his name put on it, all i need to do that is proof his the father, dont need him to sign it.
I went to court last wednesday but nothing much was done as the police or my lawyer couldnt find mathew to summons him, so it went to court to see if the judge would allow mathew to be summoned through his mother as linda (mathews mum) has admitted mathew goes to her house 2 to 3 times a week to collect his mail, the judge agreed to let us do this and the new court date is november 13th, if mathew turns up he will have to state why he thinks Jay isnt his and have to do a DNA test, if mathew doesnt turn up the court will order him as Jaylens father and it will all be over.
Sorry about the long post. Thank u for asking about this Bel, its nice to no someone cares :).
That's a big weight off your chest no doubt...I saw your post about the fact he couldn't be summons through his Mum  - at least by Christmas, you should have it all sorted (and even sooner if he can't be bothered rocking up!), so you can start the new year fresh :-)
Bel - that's sort of what the woman talking to another couple at the baby shop was hinting at - but she did say they'd been fully tested and done great, but they just look so tiny! I think we have/had the same seat for C currently - at the time it was a case of I can't believe I'm about to spent $500 on a carseat, but I was still in the process of getting my license (and horrified at the thought of transporting a baby anyway, just in case something stupid happened)....can't put a price on keeping them as safe as possible though hey

amandaw- What carseat are u getting? I got Jay the Safe-n-Sound AHR Platinum (http://www.babiesgalore.com.au/view_product_new.php?productid=688&returnUrl2=%2Fshow_product_search.php%3Fsearchtype %3Dcategory%26categoryid%3D52)which is top of the range, cost me $500 but so worth it. I would highly recommended it (if thats not wat ur getting), there so comfy, roomy, feel so soft, there so luxurious and most important there the most safe carseat and it has great head support.
That's what we currently have for C...so we'll pass that onto him and get the new AHR Maxirider for C....
Just be careful with that seat, to remove the padding a J gets older...we took one layer out when Charlotte was getting squishy, but I felt like a chastised child when we went to get M's capsual fitted, and the Ambo fitter ripped out the next layer too - apparently if they're too snug, they're not sitting deep enough in the chair, and therefore it's not as safe as it could be....now to go and hunt out all those extra layers to put nack in for M :detective:
we have the premier safe n sound... Jarvis i dont think will be in that for very long either.. we have my nephews as well so we have 2 of them as Leo got to big for the car seat too quickly... Jarvis is around the same size leo was...
Whats the difference with all the maxi riders?????
All i know is that the AHR one is the brand new one (only been out since our kidlets were born) and has the extra headpiece with wings in it (like the AHR carseat)....I'm not sure if it will be too squishy when C hits 5-7, but if so, we'll pass it on to M then, and get her just a general maxirider....as far as I
know, there's only the 2 types
Hmmm quiet in here with everything else - sorry to bore you all with carseat talk
Oh and V, some very big hugs for you, your family, and very particularly your Aunty - that is awful :hugs:

where is everyone? just when i come back everyone goes  haha wat does that tell me.
Kayla i came on just to type you a message haha...
Does that mean with the ex he will have to back pay you is that why he doesnt want any thing to do with it??
Has he not seen J at all?
Kayangel
14-10-2008, 16:30
Bel- Yes, the ex will have to backpay child support but i dont think i will see a cent from him as he wont agree to pay and i have heard its a long process to get there wage granised but as long as i get mathews name on Jays birth cert its all good, thats all i want. My ex wont admit Jays his or wont take the test as Mathew was back with his ex finance and trying for a baby with her when i fall pregnant, oops he got the wrong girlfriend pregnant, i didnt no at the time he was cheating on me and back with his ex, i found out when Jay was a mth old when i started getting calls from his girlfriend, so if he admits his Jays daddy she will know his a cheater which is he trying to hide. Mathew has never seen Jaylen :banghead:, he calls Jaylen his mistake and "it".

everytime i come on here to type, something happens at home and i have to go away from the comproota!
Kayla: :hugs: must be horrible for you, going through that stuff with jaylens dad. What an a-hole! I hope it gets sorted out soon and he gets found out to be the cheat that he is!! grrr
mmmm re: Carseats! I have no idea what to get... i didn't even realise that i would have to pull bits off a carseat or put them back on!? I kinda thought one size fits all - ohh how naive! :o
My friend gave me her seat to use as her daughter doesn't use it anymore because she is now in a booster seat, but now i'm wondering would a seat that a 1 and a half year old was using be suitable for a 6 month old buby? probably not!
T's been awesome lately, although the usual grizzlyness and still a few wake ups during the night, but that's okay... i forgive him cause he's soo adorable!
Amanda i'll still have to upload those pics from when he and M had their playdate! hehe How did yours turn out?
Well i've had an average day, got a bit poopy this morning... we are trying to sell our house and might have a buyer but they want us to fix too many things because of the building report! We don't have any money to fix it all up and i don't want to spend more on the house, i just want it sold 'as is' ! grrrr i wonder if they'll pull out if we refuse!?
Sorry i know that was totally not bubby related, but just had to vent off a bit!
How is everyone else doin?
HBP - it will (the car seat that is)...most of them go from 8 kgs (when they come out of their capsual) to about 18kgs (which is about 4yrs) - not all of them have bits and pieces to pull out, but the safe and sound one that Bel, Kayla and I have (from what I read) is one with 'extra' bits and pieces, so as a bub they can be more contained and padded, and then pulls out to give them more room as they grow. Is the one your gf gave you reversible?? If so, use it in that position for a few months (I think we turned C's at about 10kg's which was around the 9 month mark) as it's semi reclined, so they don't look quite so upright and out of control.
Would definitely love to see your photos - most of mine only have T looking at the camera...M was too busy eating T's blanket :laughing: We're on extra slow download at the moment (went over the limit) so I haven't had the patience to load any piccies, but I will once we hit Saturday
How good's the price that they're offering? When we sold our place, we did some of the easy to do things, but ended up dropping the price $2500 in lieu of doing the others (which I have no doubt are still not done)....mind you, we had been offered an awesome price (like $40 000 more than we were even dreaming about ) so we definitely didn't want them to run away!!! And I guess if worse comes to worse, if it were to go back on the market, the extra $'s in the pm's message today might actually help to boost the house prices .... still hope it goes through for you though :fingerscrossed: just to have that load off!
Hey All
Amanda - Thanks heaps about the message about my aunty, i hope she is doing ok, well as best as she can. Also how is your sinus infection going? I have had the worst sinus pain for a week now, today i have had constant pain it's like a permanant ice cream headache, it's making my eyes sore and funny, it sucks, so i bit the bullet and got the antibiotics, so i hope they kick in and i feel better soon, this really sucks. What was your infection like? Did you take Antibiotics are you better?
HBP - I was also thinking of what Amanda suggested like dropping the price a bit in lieu of doing any work. It's apparantly a buyers market not a sellers market, but who knows, it's so hard to tell what's happening with the economy.
Kayla - What a dumb@rse your ex sounds, especially denying Jay cause he would have to admit he was cheating on his now fiancee, what a d*ck, i hope he can never have any more kids just cause of karma! :hugs: For you that it's sorted soon.
That's all for now, my eyes are bugging me from this stupid darn sinus headache, shall get to bed and chat again soon. :)
V- it's all gone now thank goodness. I've never had anything like it!!! Ice Cream head ache is a great way to describe it - pain in the side of my nose and across under the eye, sore ear, painful top teeth and bad, bad headaches (which I never get)
I was on antibiotics and panadol - reminded the doc 3 times that I was breastfeeding exlusively, and he checked on some page...then when I went to the pharmacist, she asked if I was feeding, and if the doctor knew - made me very very worried! I asked why, and she said that he had prescribed a B1 category antibiotic (A is the safest apparently)...which meant that it hadn't been tested on 'x' number of pregnant/feeding women. I asked her opinion, and she said that if he knew and checked, she'd go with it, but I was still a bit worried. Got home and goggled, and there was a risk of irritability and diareah (I so can't spell that word ;)...and as if you can tell in a bf bub anyway ), but figured that it was killing me so much I had to take it! We had a couple of extra dirty nappies over the next few days, but other than that, no perceivable issues. Feel soooooo much better!

Morning everyone!
Havent been around much as hubby has been home the last couple of days as he was sick and so was i. But he has gone back to work today and we r both better. nat and dylan r both ok. Nat is starting to sleep better again which is good.
My hubby also went for the citizenship test yesterday and he failed so they let him do it again and he passed. so soon he will be applying for citizenship.
PJ- loved the pics, they r both so cute.
kayla- good to hear all the drama will be over soon about the name on the birth cert. at least his name will definatley get put on there, the cheating bast**d.
Vee- hopefully u will get some answers about cams skin soon. the poor thing. nat gets a little bit of excema on her face aswell, which i just use a cortisone cream on it and it helps.
well not much else from me, going to playzone with the kids soon!
have a good day everyone!!
Cindy - Cam's skin is bad we have been bumped up at the Childrens hospy to get seen in 2 weeks, am interested to hear how they found out what Bella was allergic to or how they did it,
Vee - it's so frustrating not knowing what causes it! We saw the GP on Thursday and she called everywhere until we got an appointment straight away - in our case, we had a long trip, but was worth it to see someone the next day.
I think that the dust mite allergy was diagnosed because the eczema was all over her body (including her eyelids) and not just the "usual" spots, and also because of how it looked. The doc thinks the food allergy because she had it around her mouth. As far as solids go, she hasn't had a huge variety, so food allergy tests in 4 weeks will let us know for sure if we need to avoid particular foods.
As far as her skin goes, we really don't have to do that much - 2 min lukewarm baths with alpha keri oil everyday, heavy sorbolene after the bath to lock in moisture and the steroid creams 2 times a day, for a max of 10 days (or earlier if it clears) then a 4 day break.
Most of all, for her, it is avoiding the triggers and irritants, so wearing only t-shirt like cotton clothes, avoiding carpets, sand, and the dust mites. We've ordered special covers for her cot mattress, but I think the most significant thing we've done is move her out of the bassinet we borrowed (which was probably full of dustmites!) and into her cot with the brand new mattress.
I hope that Cam's skin has a dramatic improvement like Bella's after your appointment. It's so terrible seeing your little one struggling.
Sorry for no more personal!
Hope everyone has a great day
Ciao!
V- it's all gone now thank goodness. I've never had anything like it!!! Ice Cream head ache is a great way to describe it - pain in the side of my nose and across under the eye, sore ear, painful top teeth and bad, bad headaches (which I never get)

Crikey, glad you are better then, i think i must have had a similar thing, had to take antibiotics and panadol yesterday, and am feeling better today it's still noticably painful but it's manageable. Thanks for that, it's awful huh? Oh yeah and diarrhoea is the worst word to spell ever, and even looking online people spell it so many different ways, even on medical sites, so who freakin knows!
Vee- the ex has been TTC with his girlfriend for a over a year and nothing lol. GO KARMA!!
Sorry for only a quick post gotta put Jay to bed and do some cleaning . Be back later!
Too funny! Sucked in buddy!
Cassie - Sorry to hear your household has been sick too, it totally aint fun. Glad your DH passed his citizen test.
Cindy - Thanks heaps for that, i appreciate it good to know at least the causes and you can minimise her exposure, i think i'm going to have to put my foot down and say do some testing this is ridiculous!
I better go and try and rest now since i'm home with just Cam at the moment.

All of this talk about carseats. Our capsule is due back on the 24th so I've pulled Ry's reversable carseat out of storage and found all the extra padded bits  so will be installing that over the weekend - looks too hard right now...
HBP, how did the buyer go - any luck? Some people just want to negotiate no matter what price you put on. If you had put $10K less, they probably would still be trying to get you to pay for stuff
Cindye, that excema sounds horrible. I hope that you get some help at the appointment :hugs:
Well yesterday it seems that my milk decided to start to dry up. I've been comping S for a few weeks now so that has been a part of it. I still can b/feed overnight but I know that there's not much there anymore:( Probably a blessing because she's using her 2 chomping teeth to latch on - ouchie!!
Thanks Amanda for your text on my birthday! It's lovely to be thought of:valentine:
Well, I'm back to work on Monday and even though I carefully made plans for the kids to go to the local daycare, I've had some ongoing reservations about the place which came to a head yesterday. Ry had a bad incident there on his trial morning and doesn't want to go back. He gets sad and cries when we talk about it. S doesn't qualify for a sibling entry (the normal wait is 18 months but siblings jump the list) if he doesn't go. I've finally had to bite the bullet and try to get her back into Ry's standard daycare which is further away and more expensive but walking in there yesterday just feels 'right'. They offered out their free baby spots just the day before so we're crossing fingers that somehow this will all work out. I have to call the local centre today and tell them that we won't be coming after all - they will hate us I'm sure but I hope they understand. I could never send Ry somewhere where he doesn't feel comfortable. The thought of him feeling sad or scared just kills me and I need to feel 100% confident about where S goes too.
Have to go - chat more later!
HBP - you can talk about any thing here doesnt always have to be bubby related...
we sold one of our house a couple of years ago i know what its like.. except we sold it in 2 days...
Been looking at a couple houses lately dont know what to do?????

bel: wow 2 days is awesome! i wish we had that luck!
yar some people just want the earth for dirt cheap. I was totally willing to negotiate on price... we just want it sold!
RM: good to hear from you! HAPPPY BIRTHDAY by the way! bummer about the milk drying up :( i hope mine doesn't go anytime soon, i'm too lazy to start dealing with bottles and food! haha It's amazing S has two teeth now! I keep looking at T's gums but nothing yet!
How is S with the sleeping now?
Vee: ooh i hope little Cams skin gets better... T has little bit of excema too, i put sorboline on it, but that does nothing really.
Amanda: oooh your sickness didn't sound good at all! Glad your feeling much better now!
Thanks for the carseat info... i spoke to my friend who lent us hers and she said it can face rear! YAY!! i'm verry happy about that. We can't afford to go out and get a new one, and i was worried about having T sitting upright in a carseat too early!
Cindy: wow thats great they picked up what was causing the bad skin! Least you know what triggers it now. We changed our laundry liquid a while ago to a softer baby friendly one... it's great, i love the smell of it too, can't remember the name though. I've heard of that Alpha keri oil, is that from the chemist?
Cassie: it's horrible when you and your hubby are both sick... good to hear he passed the test! whooo!
I got some pics uploaded too...
These are from the playdate with Mitchell (tyler is in the bright yellow. Amanda, i love how T looks annoyed that M is trying to take his blanket in that first shot!)

Hi ladies,
How are you all? I haven't been on for AGES because there's been so much going on!
I've been sick with the flu, we've been busy doing all our 'usual stuff', I've had to reconcile all our statements and get our company tax ready for the accountant, L hasn't been sleeping for more than about 30 mins during the day which makes getting anything done virtually impossible :banghead:, E's developed a bit of an attitude and has to argue with me about everything these days so I've been working on that and spending alot more quality time with her, and L had his immunisations on Monday and since then has gone feral again :crying:. He's grumpy, waking up every 2 hours or so (or like last night, every 30-45 mins) and wanting to feed for about 1 hour, so in the past 3 nights I think I've had about 10-12 hours broken sleep and I'm just totally exhausted. I can't get over this flu because I'm not getting any sleep. Hubby tried giving him some EBM one night so I could rest but he flat out refused, and went hysterical. I'm guessing it's because of the vaccinations? Could my supply be low or perhaps it's changed because I'm sick so that's why he wants to drink more? My MCHN isn't in the office until tomorrow. I have no idea, I'm so frustrated, so tired, so emotional AND to top it off my baby girl, that tiny little bundle who I gave birth to 4yrs & 9mths ago (today) lost her 1st tooth today :hissy: my big baby's growing up and I can't stop it happening. On the plus side, she has a wicked toothless grin now :)
Anyhoo, rant over! I just had to talk to SOMEONE!!
I haven't read through the previous posts, sorry ladies, but might pop back on later to do that and do some personals.
Before I go, happybirthdayto RM for last Monday. I hope you had a great day and were spoilt rotten. I left you a message on facebook, hope you got it!!
I'm getting a little tired of BH because whenever I start a thread seeking advice I hardly get any responses, but yet if I start a poll about 'do you think men in uniform or suits are sexier?' I'd get a massive response. Very frustrating when you're looking to get a little advice about something that you're concerned about. Oh sorry, there's another little rant.
I'll go now before I start on something else
Actually mel funny you say that as i was coming on here just to type you a message...
firstly ask your GP for mottillium if you think your supply is low.. if L still reacts like that later today i would have him checked again for side effects of the needles.. J is having his tomorrow....
what i was coming on to ask.. when Em had gastro what did you give her a friend of mine's little one has it and every one is saying bread because she is having so many accidents...
All of this talk about carseats. Our capsule is due back on the 24th
Well yesterday it seems that my milk decided to start to dry up. I've been comping S for a few weeks now so that has been a part of it. I still can b/feed overnight but I know that there's not much there anymore Probably a blessing because she's using her 2 chomping teeth to latch on - ouchie!!
Well, I'm back to work on Monday and even though I carefully made plans for the kids to go to the local daycare, I've had some ongoing reservations about the place which came to a head yesterday. !
Ours is officially due back too, but i sent back the letter asking for the one month extension....purely cause i didn't want to have to run out and buy C a seat ina hurry - but now that's all organised, so when I pick it up tomorrow (have to drive to the other side of Brisbane for it, but worth the $60 it's saving me) we can return the capsual (but a touch worried about that, because it's so convenient just to carry M in it for short trips, and just put him down by the car while I make sure C is safely in...not quite sure of who to put in first etc when the capsuals not in use )
:hugs: for the milk supply (and this is for you too Mel) - mine has actually felt really really low in the last few days, and even though M's attaching more frequently it doesn't seem to help....what did work for me (though M, I've heard what Bel suggested is very good, plus you are probably just a bit run down from your flu)....was having one of DH's beers last night - apparently the yeast is a fantastic thing (hence the brewers yeast in the lactation cookies), and I felt a huge boost about an hour later...girl's gott do what a girl's gotta do :p
And teeth - owwwww! I think M's are going to show their head soon. Really not great news about the daycare centre (I actually drove past it Monday and wondered if they were both there)....it sounded so good whne I was speaking to you last! How'd they take it? Have you got everything sorted now....not really what you needed to do in a last minute rush. Is your MIL able to help out a little in the interim
Oh and hope the weather clears up for the christening
These are from the playdate with Mitchell (tyler is in the bright yellow. Amanda, i love how T looks annoyed that M is trying to take his blanket in that first shot!)
I can't believe our little bubies are going to be 6 months soon!!
Very cute - I have a great one of T with a "I want that' look on his face as M is knawing on Tiggers' tail - will post soon
Yes, scarey isn't it. I actually made my first food purchase today (for in a couple of weeks - I'm a mean Mummy...you should have seen the look on M's face when he got a hold of my hot chocolate spoon this morning...and it didn't even have anything on it  priceless)....All of the Rafferty's Garden Organic cereals were on special at Woolies, so though we might give them a whirl...and once our new fridge/freezer arrives, I can start steaming and mashing all ready to go (still not looking foward to the nappies though :barf: )
And a special one just for you!
So has the tooth fairy visited yet? :D
Sounds like you need 300 of these :hugs: Mel!
You know what, I've found I get much better responses from asking in either C's birth month group (they're great, because there's lots of Mum's who were 2nd or 3rd time round already when the bubs were born...they also have very strong beliefs (all different) and are well researched and educated in their responses) or in here where we're all going through the same of thing (and I often respond to things I see 'out there' in here anyway)
Enough of my blah though...I was going to say that I think it might be something to do with the vaccination...as someone else who did reply to you said, they are given a controlled dose of the illness in order to build immunity to it.
In all honesty, I don't remember C being as affected by them...and I wonder if that is to do with the oral rotavirus (wasn't around 2 years ago). M was definitely more disgruntled for a week or so after, and then I was sick, so we're just starting to clear the woods now. If you do think it is supply, maybe try making up a batch of those lactation cookies, or getting a vitamin supplement, or having a beer....or even look at formula if you're ready for that (though as that same wise person said in your other thread, that won't help your supply) - just have to see how well he'll take to it though if he doesn't do expressed milk from a bottle
Also if you think he's teething, that might be playing a big part too - at the moment M is regularly calling out in his sleep, though does settle himself. Does he settle at all? Pulling at his ears? Have smelly breath....if there's issue there, it may be worth checking him out for either a throat or ear infection....I know that's what C was like when she had one when young
Even if you stick it to the big wide world of Bubhub....don't leave us!!! :goodvibes:

I could never send Ry somewhere where he doesn't feel comfortable. The thought of him feeling sad or scared just kills me and I need to feel 100% confident about where S goes too.
Completely understandable RM, hope it all works out ok and before I forget, I hope Siana's christening goes well on the weekend and I'll be thinking of you on Monday :hugs:
when Em had gastro what did you give her a friend of mine's little one has it and every one is saying bread because she is having so many accidents...
E couldn't eat much at all when she had gastro, but liked the hydralite icy poles and when DH and I had gastro they made us both feel 100% better too, so I highly recommend them. Other foods are bland foods like bananas, apples, plain toast or bread, pasta with no sauce etc.. Hope your friends little one gets better soon, it's awful!
So has the tooth fairy visited yet?
She is in transit as we speak :p, the worst part is that E appears to have swallowed her tooth during the night so now I won't have her first tooth to keep :crying:. Her dad had to give her one of his old teeth that he'd had pulled out years ago :barf:because E was so upset that she had no tooth to leave for the tooth fairy.
In all honesty, I don't remember C being as affected by them...and I wonder if that is to do with the oral rotavirus (wasn't around 2 years ago).
Also if you think he's teething, that might be playing a big part too
Does he settle at all?

Thanks for your lovely post amanda, ya big ol' sweetie :hugs: you made me feel much better. I was just thinking about the oral rotavirus this afternoon too because E was nowhere near as affected by her needles as L has been so I'm guessing it's that moreso than the needles. Didn't prevent him from getting gastro when we all had it a few weeks back anyway, different strain of it apparently, so what's the good of it?? And as you mentioned, someone said in the other thread I started about the babies being given a controlled dose of the virus and I hadn't even thought of it like that, silly me, so yeah it only stands to reason that they probably don't feel too flash for a cpl of days!
About starting to formula feed, I've decided to ride this out and continue to breast feed, it's best for him (especially with hubby's history of eczema) and hopefully he'll sort himself out in the next few days. I was just really tired & over it all when I posted. Poor E, she's been getting yelled at left, right and centre today - the poor darling, I'll have to make it up to her tomorrow. Thanks for the tip about drinking beer though, will definately keep that in mind.
L is definately teething ... fist is constantly in his mouth, dribbling, keeps sucking on his bottom lip so teething is a big part of it all too, probably coupled with the 4 month growth spurt and no wonder he's not a happy camper! It's a tough life being 4 months old!! Sometimes he settles himself during the night but he's still in our room so I usually jump straight up and get him so he doesn't wake up DH who has to get up at 5am for work. It will be heaps better when he's in his own room (must get on to that in the next cpl of weeks).
I'll always keep coming to this thread ... you're all such lovely ladies and I love chatting to you everyone!
mel: definitely suits are sexier!
Oh I beg to differ, give me a man in uniform any day (dog squad cop uniform is my fave, but I must admit I'm a sucker for a tradie too - well I used to be, he he)
Loved the pics of Tyler & Mitchell, cutey patooties!
Well I'm off to bed. Forgot to add that we just got a quote to fix our shower, the shower base (the part you stand on) has 2 cracks on it and needs to be fixed before they rot the boards underneath, $2300.00! Not happy Jan!!
Nighty nite!!

Mel: i do agree that when we put T in his own room, we started sleeping better too! I also was getting up at the littlest sign of a stir so DP wouldn't wake up.... which in turn was preventing T from getting himself back to sleep too.
Having said that, last night i was up at least 4 times still... although for one of them i listened to him and he was just grizzly and got back to sleep after 5 minutes. :yelclap: I normally go and feed at the first sign of a noise but now i am going to wait for at least a cry out.
I too am going to breast feed as long as possible because hubby has bad eczema (ha i just realised i spelt it with an x last time) and i don't want T going through that too. Have you tried the lactaction cookies? I do think they help... i had massive boobs for a few weeks i was living on about 10 a day! hahaa
LOL @ Dog Squad cop! That's hilarious!!! I've never looked at them like that before.
That's horrible about the shower too! grrrrr
I've noticed T has been coughing lately... not all the time, but just a few here and there, has anyone else encountered this? Should i be worried or is it all normal? He doesn't seem too phased by it.
we were up all night last night with sienna coughing... good luck!!! you can now get baby cough mixture but you need a script
[Oh I beg to differ, give me a man in uniform any day (dog squad cop uniform is my fave, he)
 I can support that - not quite dog squad, but DH's best mate is with the Crime Scene/Forensics team, and there's just something about those overalls :o ...but HPB, there's also something with a guy in a well fitted suit too (says me whose married to a shorts and polo phys ed teacher *sigh*)
... although for one of them i listened to him and he was just grizzly and got back to sleep after 5 minutes.
Yah for Tyler :yelclap:...and if it's a random dry cough, I wouldn't worry about it - he's probably just discovered that it feels sort of funny on his vocal cords (if it gets 'wet'/heavy or continuous though, there's nothing wrong with a docs visit)
A couple of piccies from me (including one to match HBP's one)
Hey...what you got there (Tyler and Mitchell) (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2485349030098657779uuUBqc)
Happy boy (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2782456900098657779sDXqCF)
And just to show M's quick to take advantage of a situation Skirt Shove (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2301102160098657779WwzQzn)... we were trying to convince Charlotte to have a photo taken, and Mitchell decided to take control and get some knawing time in
Anywho, that's all from me - only got in a midnight from a scrapbooking party, so I'm suprised I've even made it this far!

I wanted to know what was going on but didn't feel right about asking you...glad you got a good result.
.
PJ- Rory is gorjus! would love to meet up with u both again when u r feeling upto it.
For sure, I'll give you my address and you can drop by any time you want. We're in Seaford soon very close to Frankston dandenong road.
PJ - thanks for the piccies - very cute! The girls seem to look quite different from each other...is that the case IRL or just in the photo? M and C looked similar in baby photos, but look quite different now
They don't really look alike at all do they? (maybe Jasmine isn't DP's...we may never know, and don't really want to know)
Mum bought us a reversable car seat for Jasmine, you can use it right up until they go in the booster. Rory is in the forward facing position now.
Haven't had her injections yet, haven't had her weighed or measured since 8 weeks. She's just about to grow out of the bassinette i assume she must be around 7kg now.
We're still breast feeding but probably only 3 or 4 times a day now. She has formula and farex the rest of the time. We tried some mushy veges the other day, and its coming through the poo now!! no more runnies, they're all thick and smelly!!
I'm not really coping well mood wise (trying to keep it together) I've been a real cranky B lately. Have to do something about it before I start hating myself...I think it has a lot to do with sleep deprivation and all the stress in the last 12 months. I've been forced to quit smoking I'm doing ok so far but its killing me, I expect i'm going to be pretty cranky by tonight.
My computer has been down the last week or so, something went wrong with my hard drive and I lost EVERYTHING, all of the photo's of Jasmine since she was a baby. Luckily all the ones of Aurora are still on the camera and mum has 2 memory cards full of photos of jasmine from a baby. Its not a complete loss thankfully.
So it took me a week of stuffing around but I have a working computer again. All it cost me was $20!! Went to Carribean Gardens they had a trash and treasure auction, I got myself a new computer for $20. Its better than the one I had, all I had to do was put my existing HD in and re-installing windows and all the drivers. I know how to build my own computer now and will never pay someone to fix it again! Anyone need help in that department let me know...
Anyway had to quit the smokes since I'm getting my tonsils taken our on Thursday (typical good timing!). So i've got the rest of today and the next two days to finish packing and cleaning, whatever I don't get done DP will have to do himself. I'm meant to be on bed reast for 4 days and only light duties for the next 5. So I won't have to lift a finger when we move, just unpack it all when we get there.
Moving on the 31st, net will most likely be off this week or next. I've organised dial up (OMG sooooo......slow....) so will be able to check here occasionally when I have time to wait the 15 minutes for the page to load! lol
Its so much quieter in here when I"m not around filling up the thread with my useless jargon.....I'm sure you've all had a nice break from me!
PJ - Wow, that's full on moving house, and quitting smoking, are you going cold turkey or have you got nicorette gum or patches? DH was good we weaned him down in mg and then i made him have the gum, he probably used the gum for about 2 months and then he's basically smoke free and for someone like him that's huge, although he really was only a light smoker like max 10 a day, not a pack a day smoker, that would be a hard habit to kick. Goodluck with it, it's hard, and good luck with the move. Also getting your tonsils out sucks, i hated it, i had my adnoids and tonsils out a few years ago, not fun, enjoy the jelly and ice cream and custard! lol Also you have been through a massive amount of stuff in the last 12 months, you have cared for your mum after a stroke, had a baby, dealt with your DP's job losses and now moving house etc, you really are amazing, you need to give yourself some credit hun and don't be so hard on yourself. Also have a whinge as much as you like, you're entitled to it, i wouldn't begrudge you for it. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: Will look forward to hearing how the move went when you get back online and semi-settled. :)
We went to the hospy again for Cam's skin and we just have to try a different approach and kinda wean him off the celestone cream as that's pretty heavy and not recommended to be used more than 2 days at a time, so we will use it when it is flared up, otherwise will use a lighter dose steroid cream and that's fine to use more long term, but hopefully we will wean him off altogether and not have any more excema, we shall see. They don't think it's allergy related or anything like that which is good, so we shall see how we go when we introduce solids. Anyone not introduced solids yet? I'm still going to try and hold off another month at this stage, and i'm not going to bother wish mushy food just give it to him and watch him.
Anywho, Josh is crawling over my lap so can't type, chat again soon.

Amanda: lol @ the phiz ed uniform... mmm not really a turn on for me! haha How is M going with the crawling? is he doing it all over the place or just little bits here and there?
Hey PJ: whoah, you have been through a lot lately!! I hope things get better soon... like Vee says don't be soo hard on yourself! Your doing the best you can :) :hugs:
Vee: awww poor little cam and his skin :( it's hard when it can't be fixed.
We haven't done any solids yet... i'm trying to hold off too... he has a lifetime of solids so as long as he's happy on just mummy's milk then i'm going to keep him on it... although he'll be 6 months in 3 weeks time, so we might try just after that... see how we go :)
Not sure what i am going to start him on yet... either rice cereal or mushie vegies... have to investigate. I heard that babies start needing more iron after 6 months, so i'll try and find foods that are high in iron maybe?
We haven't done any food yet - have a few things in the cupboard ready for ina few weeks time, but will do his 6month immunisatiosn first, and then start the transfer over
Be back later.....am needed in the kitchen!

ooh that's a good idea...i might wait till after the immunisation too!
T has been doing the cutest noises lately! He was crying in his cot earlier today after i put him down for a nap - he wouldn't go to sleep so i picked him up and he instantly stopped crying and just made cuuuute sounds... totally melts my heart! :goodvibes:
I just want to have a little 5 month old baby with me all the time! LOL! I hope they stay just as cute for a few more years! Otherwise i'll just have to end up having more and more! LOL!
Does anyone else feel this way?
Forgot to say, loved the pics of T and M, they are so cute. And yeah HBP - I would have 10 million of Cameron, he is so cute, when we were at the hospital today he was letting out ripper farts while giving the doc these gorgeous cheeky grins it was so cute and funny, i love him so much, i would just love to freeze time, he's just been a pure joy since day one my little mister has. :bee:
:laughing::laughing: Knew you'd come around HBP :laughing::D:p
hey ive got a million things to say about your post PJ good luck with moving... dont have long as i think both kids are napping so i need to get stuff done...
Jarvis is 5 mths today.. rolling both ways attempting crawling doesnt get very far at the moment... turned him in the car will post a pic soon....

Vee, we're doing heaps of solids here. S will almost chew my arm off if I'm not fast enough  She has her two little chompers through properly now so has moved to a thicker, chunkier puree already. She gets three meals a day plus b/feed at night/morning and formula during the day. She's a big girl now!! Rolling back and forth too - such a happy laughy baby. HBP, you're right - it's an awesome age although it always seems like their age is perfect :-)
Here's a couple of photos:
S on her playmat (http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n5/klawrenc13/DSC_1122.jpg)
S exhausted after her Christening (http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n5/klawrenc13/DSC_0147.jpg)
Enjoy your move PJ!
Oh Amanda, I've been meaning to ask you something for ages. I went through my closet and did a clear out a while ago and found a beautiful chocolate brown suede jacket (it's longline with a sash-type belt) that I love but it has always been a little too tight around the waist so I've only worn it a couple of times. I reckon you'd fit it perfectly so if you're interested, it's yours. I know that I could have told you in Winter and all....sheez!:p
HBP, I think you asked how S is sleeping......3-4 hours at a time during the night. Yip Yah! and I started work yesterday so am buggered. On that note, I'm off to bed.
Oh and T-Bone and Mitchy are gorgeous!
Nighty night everyone!
Rynosmum - Oohh she is adorable, and look at the long little legs she has in the first pic! Love her dress too, hope her christening was a lovely day. :) She sounds like she's doing great on the solids, don't know how you are coping having to go back to work with a bubba that still wakes up through the night, hopefully she settles easily though. I actually ended up giving Cam some solids today after saying i'd hold off! lol
He basically lunged for my banana this morning and put it in his mouth and had a good suck on it, so i cut a bit off put it in a mesh feeder and he loved it. So we are going to just introduce things slowly, i still want him to have regular breastfeeds. Also last night he woke hourly just to suck and was a wee bit unsettled which wasn't fun, but i hope it was just a once off thing. Hoping it wasn't due to him being too hungry. But yeah, we shall see how we go and just play it by ear with the solids. I am sure he's more than ready to be honest, i just want him to feed himself! lol I really rate mesh feeders too, and it kept the mess to a minimum cause it was all in the bag rather than everywhere else! lol
Anywho, i should go to bed too. :)
 V - I swear, I was the only one in my other birth month group (well actually I think that there were 3 of us) who didn't have a mesh feeder...they were the 'it' thing, so onece one person raved, everyone went out and brought....I just figured that I'd be too lazy to clean it  and C jumped pretty quickly up to real food anyway. Am actually feeling bad that I'm holding out on M (cause he's so ready), but he is feeding beautifully and do want to wait till he's had those 6 month injections, which will only be next week, so we'll go from there
RM - was thinking of you Monday - how'd it all go?? And how did the centre switch go? (and did you get R's school "acceptance" form??)
That christening photo is beautiful...oh to have a girl to play dress ups with again - Charlotte was given the most divine dress for her first birthday (but a size 2)...and while she now fits it, I don't want her to ruin it with food and play so she hasn't worn it yet  - will have to find a happy medium there. S sounds really content - it is beautiful isn't it :cloud9:
And if you're definitely, 100% sure that you're not going to wear the jacket, it definitely sounds like a goer  Had to kill off my brown jacket because it got damaged when we moved, so sounds perfect
happybunnypony

RM: awwwwwwwwww what a cutie S is! Lovely eyes! I love the poooped out pic too! hahaha
Yar it must be full on being back at work too... but you do sound pretty organised so i'm sure that would help.
I'm doing some freelance work at home at the moment, which is great, but i haven't had a chance to get much done... really need to buckle down today and work.
Vee: yeah i started researching solid foods too... just to find the best ones to start on - i wouldn't mind trying to make my own rice cereal if i get time... see how i go though!
Amanda: hahah yeah i'm not sure about the mesh feeders too... i saw them the other day at the shops, i thought it seemed like more mess to me... but i might get one and try it!
T had a great sleep last night - from 10:30 to 5! Whoot!!
I need to get a new playmat for him though, the one we were using is too small for him now... i like the ikea one but it's about $60 is that normal price for them?
I think that is a fairly "normal" price, but then I don't buy anything baby unless it's on special  Toys R Us always have good specials
I personally wouldn't go too fancy though - give him another month or 2 and there's not a chance he'll be staying in the one spot long enough to justify a play mat :D
The mesh feeders are great in terms of being able to give them fresh fruit and not run the risk of chocking etc, but we use our steamer daily, so checking some fruit in there to do isn't a hassle for me (and my paranoia about food poisoning, if I don't wash the mesh well enough...yet the dirt on the floor doesn't both me...go figure ). We'll be going orange veges first (so not used to just the sweet fruit, but apparently orange ones are sweeter than other veges) then mix and match a whole pile of other things... a great book is Breast, Bottle, Bowl to help you in your research (a friend has my copy, so can't tell you who by, but will have to get it off her soon...about $20, but my local library has it too)
Anywaho, off to clean  while Charlotte is still entrance by In The Night Garden

Absolutely loved Siana's dress RM, she looked totally adorable, and totally knackered . L has the same playmat (well it was actually E's). So now that you're back at work are you and hubby sharing the night time feeds?? That's only fair isn't it?? I bet your answer to my question was a big fat no!! Men ... hrmpffff
Well I don't have a mesh feeder either amanda, and don't really intend on getting one either. They do look like they'd be hard to clean, but I know many people who swear by them. Who knows ... I could change my mind, anything's possible :D! I will start L on food in a month (he is 5 months today :smiliedance:) or so and would like to start him on vegies, cause once they get the taste for those yummy, sweet fruits there's no turning back with the bland ol' vegies. Maybe then he'll love his vegies, unlike his sister who will only eat potato, carrot and peas coated in potato
hbp, I agree about not spending too much on a playmat, he won't be on it for long now. Maybe invest in a jolly jumper (if you don't have one) instead.
L sleeps from about 8pm until 2am, then 3am until 6am with the odd shocker thrown in for good measure. Last night the power was out between 1am and 4am, so I had to sit in the dark for an hour (well I had a torch on), jeez THAT was fun (NOT). I've had a cold for over a week now, that I just can't shake. Thank goodness for Maybelline mineral foundation, my new life saver to cover the bags under my eyes!
Well, I'll be off. L just woke up.
Maybe then he'll love his vegies, unlike his sister who will only eat potato, carrot and peas coated in potato
Aren't bags the new black  I'm going up to school to watch out annual Dance Night tonight (will be soooo weird sitting in the audience), and I'm seriously hoping I can stay awake!!
Charlotte's going through a bit of an anti-vege moment too at the moment - will have potato, so we massh sweet potato in too, and has just decided she like carrots again..oh and tomato....loves her 'mato'. She's always been so good with veges too (I swear, brocolli was like chocolate to her) so I'm hoping it's just a phase. DH mixes the rest chopped up through mashed potato, so at least she's eating them, but would like it to be by her own free will again one day

Sorry I can't do any personals and didn't get to see the pictures I can only see what is on this page. It has just taken me 20 minutes just to log into bubhub and load this page, my internet has been shaped this month already so its slower than dial up...
and if you try to not load the images on the page the reply button won't show up, so of course I had to reload the page again!!!
I'm meant to be getting my tonsils out tomorrow,
but its just my luck to get sick with tonsilitis the day before!! I still have to go into the hospital in the morning, but there is a chance
the doctor will send me home because I'm not well enough to have the surgery....I've already been waiting 18 months for this surgery,
the whole propect of having to put up with this for another few months or more is really depressing. I'm so sick of being sick all the time and
constantly run down. I haven't been myself in years, I'm just so sick of it all. This is just too painful trying to load bubhub on such a slow connection,
I'll be back when the net gets put back on. May not be until next year the way things are looking at the moment...we were meant to be going to NZ in Feb, but
DP's mother went and booked tickets (since she offered to pay) leaving Dec 16th returning xmas day! didn't even ask if we wanted or could even take the flights, all I got was an email saying
have an early christmas with your mum I've booked the flights..this was after explaining to her we wont be in a financial position to come until Feb, not once but at least 3 times!! she still went ahead and did what she liked. DP lost it with her and now we're not talking to her at all...the whole idea was for us to come over and spend time with DP's grandfather who wont last the year, now it looks like we wont be going at all (at least not until we can afford to) Anyway sorry to bore you all with that dribble...I may not be back online for quite a while.
Remember to fill me in on these 'mesh feeder' things, never heard of them! I just use a blender or a fork. Not that we've moved past farex and mashed banana yet...i should go lay down and rest since i doubt I'm going to be getting much sleep over the next couple of days.

Well can you believe it? It's tough being back at work so the whole family is pitching in. Hubby has been doing most of the cooking and some cleaning, Ry has been cleaning up his own toys and dressing himself and Siana has.....wait for it....started sleeping through the night! I should have gone back months ago!!! She's going from 8pm - 4am at the moment and then back down until 5:30. I can't believe how much of a difference it makes.
The kids are home today and my MIL is here so I've been up and played a bit, cuddled them a lot and will take one of them when I need to drop some stuff off this afternoon - we're really lucky to have the setup that we have.
Vee, I have a mesh feeder but have never used it. What else do you put in there? S's teeth are getting so sharp, I don't want her to chew through it:laughing:
HBP, I did a whole heap of puree this morning - just steamed then blended with no additives. Apple and pear first and then butternut pumpkin - enough for a couple of weeks (in ice cube trays and soon to be in plastic bags in the freezer). I mix it with farex and a little formula powder and warm water (pre-boiled). She's also had a bit of corn and chicken. She really doesn't prefer any taste over any other - just food :-)
Thanks for the compliments on S's dress - it's gorgeous isn't it? One of my clients actually gave it to us when she was born - we had to book the Christening around her ability to fit into the dress:D
Okay, back to work!:p
and Siana has.....wait for it....started sleeping through the night! I should have gone back months ago!!!
we had to book the Christening around her ability to fit into the dress:D
I hope you said that out loud very very quietly RM  That's wonderful news....it's amazing what a good night (or 10's) sleep will do
We had the opposite last night - Iwent to my school's Dance Night - feed M at 6 and he was dead to the world when I left, so i left him here (figuring that he never wakes till 10.30 at the earliest and usually midnightish....anyway, I got 10 phone calls (but of course it was on silent and in my handbag) and 2 texts as M was going catatonic (in DH's words) and wouldn't settl at all - and it was only 9.30 - oops (I still enjoyed my night though - just had a guilty and zippy trip home!)
And :p at the Christening timing - we were so sidtracked with C that we combined it with her 1st birthday :o We had some notion of tieing M's in with DH's 30th since his family would be up, but have since decided that wouldn't be so great - is something we should think about sooner rather than later I suppose (my biggest issue will be getting DH to agree with going back to the same church...it's the one that we married in, and C was christened in, but Christenings are included in with a full mass, so an hour and a half later.....big ask for family and friends

Oh MY!!!!!!! That is my biggest dream and largest fear all rolled into one. How are you feeling!??! Congratulations!!!!:hugs:
I think my eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw that photo!

I know....I shouldn't have said anything but I'm SO hoping it stays as a regular thing. It makes such a massive difference.
M was CATATONIC?!? That can't be good:p 10 missed calls, he must have been so very pleased with you when he finally got you. My DH does the same thing. Heck if I missed the 1st 5 calls, it's a fair chance I'll miss the next 5! Good that you enjoyed yourself though.
Oh, and from a few posts ago, yep Ry is into his school. All is good there thankfully.
Oh and for Mel, no DH doesn't get up in the middle of the night but he does offer....once I'm up and out the door already:rolleyes:
Anyway....back to Cassie.....
oh my goodness Cassie - not quite as close as Bel, but not far off
:yelclap: Congratulations :cloud9: - was it a suprise for you or not really
Your beautiful DD is going to be a big sister :smiliedance:
ETA - opps, let it all out of the bag in one go didn't I :o (but that's alright, cause RM posted at the same time)
oh and we get the 'do you want me to get up' speil as I'm out too *groan*

lol amanda!!! Ooh yes that reminds me of when T was about 5 weeks old and i went to the shops for 10 MINUTES!! T went catatonic  on my DP too! I never heard the end of how i should never leave the house without leaving some EBM! LOL! I had even fed him just before i left... i just needed to get MYSELF some milk!
OOH and my DP used to get up in the night... but there really isn't any need now, i seem to have it sorted and all i do is a quick bf and he's down again. Luckily DP is good with changing nappies and usually does the ones in the morning before he goes to work! YAY!
RM: WHOOOO yay for S having a big sleep! that's awesome! I hope she keeps it up!
CASSIE: OMGGGGGGGGG!! wow! Congrats! How exciting! :yelclap: RM summed it up just how i would feel about it if it happened to me too! hehe
Kayla:
Mel: Does it take Linc and hour to feed at night? T usually takes about 15 mins at max... i just sit in his room in the darkness now! lol!

Cassie- OMG!!! congrats :hugs:.
Cassie congrats..... when are you due.....:yelclap:
I love my age gap.. except i now have 2 bubs moving!!!! and jarvis has only just gone 5mths i have sienna who only just started walking and jarvis already trying to crawl
Holy Moly Cassie - congrats! How do you feel about it?
Rynosmum - Glad that things are settling down and great to hear everyone pitching in to make things easier on you. I haven't also put anything other than banana in the mesh feeder as yet. Tried to give him some tonight and this morning but he wasn't interested. Sounds like Siana is getting right into solids, that's awesome.
Amanda - Oh it's terrible isn't it, i can usually time going out around Cam's feeds too and leave him home for a little while, he's usually pretty good and will sleep till i get back. Only once has he been really upset and waiting till i got home. Also i left both boys at the chrece at Northlakes for 2 hours on Tues and Cam was great, only cried for the last 5-10 mins till i got there to feed him. He's such a champ.
HBP - Good to hear things are going well with you too T man sounds so awesome and i loved the pic of him, such cute big blue eyes.
News on our front, Josh is doing my head in, i actually haven't been very proud of my behaviour towards him today, i actually told him i hated him. :o :( He woke Cam three times be screaming his head off for no reason, everytime we ask him what he wants he screams at us at the top of his voice, i was lying down with Cam feeding him for his afternoon nap and as soon as i moved he would wake, so i had to lay there with him, after 3 times of going through this and settling Cam and Josh screaming i lost it. :hair: :banghead: Not proud of myself for yelling and hitting him. I find when i'm tired i don't cope and also i seem to favour Cam over Josh, which is something i'm trying to work on, but Josh really is difficult and it's hard sometimes to like him. :( (I can't believe i just said that).
Anywho, better not go on i'm already upset and think i'll only get more upset thinking about it.
V - :hugs: I've got a friend who uses exactly that same sentiment "hard sometimes to like him"
She puts hers down all the way back to when she had to have an emergency C sect (after a 50hr labour) and all that she missed out on because of it. She also figures that they are too alike in personality, and therefore clash....her saving grace is that her DH sees number 2 as a complete sooky Mummy's boy and so would rather spend time with their very active DS1 - and she feels that she mothers him to the best of her ability, even if she doesn't 'like' him at times...she hasn't found a way to get over it (so I can't offer any advice there) but you are definitely not alone
And to be honest I think we all have days like that - when M's being particularly difficult, C seems like an angel and vice versa....and I imagine that Josh will seem wonderful and settled by the time Cam gets to be 2! I think part of it may be the difference between a 'learning to be independent and wanting to do things my own way, and being frustrated that I can't articulate it all clearly to you" Josh and a "squishy, totally reliant, happy as long as you keep feeding and carrying me" Cam
Some big :hugs: your way and enjoy the fact that today's daycare day (I think???)...
(speaking of which - we have a couple of weeks coming up where C is only going to be at FDC for 1 day a week as her carer has antenatal appointments on her days (well her new days, I actually switched a day with another parent, because while it is painful not giving her an out on those days, at least I'm not at work and desperately scrambling for a carer like the other mother would be...but back to the point :-P)...was wondering if you perhaps wanted to catch up and maybe go up to one of the playcentres on one of the days (or something) - let me know if you're keen

well it was really a shock. and it still is. was very unexpected. we dont know what we r going to do yet. my hubby most likely wants me to have an abortion cause it is to close for us. we havent really discussed it fully yet. im thinking that maybe i wont be able to cope with 3 under 3. but then dylan will nearly be 3 and will be able to help me more. we would have to get a bigger car and place, it would be hard to fit 3 kids into a 2 bedroom unit. hubby didnt want me to tell anyone yet, but i couldnt help it, its too bigger news not to share. and also my best freind is also preg and would be due about 1 and a half weeks before me and she wants us to go through preg together. i would be due around 20th June i think, i know i ovulated late cause i tested when my period was due and it was neg and then a few days later tested again and was still neg. then i had the old blood come which i normally get b4 af and it went for 6 days and stopped and no af, so i tested yesterday and got that +. af was due around 6th so it is very late. Nat will be just over 13months when it would be born. im hoping that Nat would be walking at that time as dylan was walking at 12 1/2 months and crawled at 9 months.
So im at that point where i dont know what to do, hubby and i have some talking to do.
Cassie can i say a few things...
I would love more then any thing for you to want this bub.. but if your not ready and dont want it is that good.???
Sienna didnt walk until 16/17mths my kids are 12 mths apart i love the gap and could have had 2 under 1 so the fact of 3 under 3 if they are walking it wont make a difference... sienna loves jarvis to bits and wont every remember a time with out him as he will have gone through almost all of her life with her..
saying that i couldnt live in a unit.... with 3 kids but if you can do it with 2.. then it might not be bad.. going through a pregnancy with your partner not wanting the baby and a little baby at home yourself would be hard....
Financially can you afford another????
In the end its up to what you want?? the age gap wouldnt scare me.. but as i said the fact sienna wasnt walking with a 2 storey house was annoying...
Can't add anything to your post Cassie, other than some big :hugs: for the time ahead - only you guys can decide what is best for you
cassie0011

i would love to have this bub, its just i dont know if we could cope. I really dont think i could go through with another abortion, i regret the first one so badly, but still dont know if we could cope with it. Dylan loves Nat too and im sure he would love the new bub too. Hubby said to me this morning that he would like to keep it and is saying pretty much the same things as i have about coping.
Bel- I really value ur opinion as u r in a similar situation. was it hard at first with ur 2 and sienna not walking? Did she demand ur attention alot at first and got used to having a brother? sorry for all the questions. any info would be great. thanks.
Cassie - I think you'd cope if you have to. I have absolutely no doubt that it would be hectic and there would be days that would feel just totally out of control, but if you go into it knowing that, you can deal so much better with it.
Obviously the housing situation would turn into and issue (if not immediately, sometime soon after I would imagine with active 3 and 1 year olds running around)...if you already know there are regrets from the past, there will probably always be that little somethig in the back of your mind. You may find that you need to "outsource" some care if you are willing (just to give you a bit of a break and keep Dylan (particularly) stimulated, but you sound like you've coped well this time through, so hopefully that would continue...my Mum had 4 under 5, and while I think she's a total nutter (said with lots of love) I completely understand why she did it that way - 6 years straight of nappies/feeding/whatever, but we're all great mates, involved with each other and family events are a ball - I' not sure that a huge age gap would have lead to the same (though i know that people plan it that way so that they can spend time getting to know and give all their kids the same attention that no 1 got)
anywho...back to sitting on the sideline
(since it was really bel you were asking )
Oh and IM - did you make it back okay?
cassie0011
24-10-2008, 08:48
amanda- thanks for ur input. it has helped. and it makes alot of sense to me. thank you.
Cassie ask away im happy to help....
In our situation it was hard for a while as you remember Jarvis was very sick.... so i spent days in appointments etc and at the childrens ward.. we dont have parents either so i couldnt ask them for help...
I had a horrible feeling i wouldnt bond with him and again i was right at first although i only had sienna i missed sienna so much being in hospital i had never left her... sienna didnt go to me one night in hospital only wanted DH i was so up set...
by the time jarvis was a month old.. i loved my little boy more then any thing... sienna loved helping doing lots of trips to the car is annoying but you get used to it when you have 2 not walking like some one said it was like twins for a while... now sienna is 17mths and jarvis has just gone 5 mths every thing is perfect sienna likes to put the dummy in his nose!! yep his nose she misses every time.. they are starting to fight for toys too jarvis can give a little now too....
sienna has her own special toys and she loved certain movies etc... I was told to BF & bottle which was too hard with sienna then J was put on lactose free so he had to be bottle feed any way that was the only hardest thing i think BFeeding... now sienna is walking every thing is perfect..
Would i do a 12mth age gap again if i had my time again.. yes for sure......

Sorry to rain of ur parade cassie but i have some news to share:
Mathew (Jays dad) has finally agreed to do a DNA test :goodvibes: which is wat i have been waiting for 6 long mths, im happy i finally get to prove his Jays dad but also scared about wat the future holds regarding his relationship with Jaylen. OH and the lieing ******* told his lawyer im the one who didnt want the test HELLO i have been asking and asking for it to be done since Jay was born and he also wants to me pay half the cost of the test :banghead: NO WAY  im not paying for something i already no the answer to.
Cassie- It would be really hard with 3 under 3 i find it hard with one  but i no u would be able to cope and i no u would be a great mummy :hugs:. Only u no wats best for ur family, its going to be a tough choice.
Bel- Hey Bel, i miss chatting to you :). How is Jarivs and Sienna going? i would love to come to sydney to meet u guys one day.
Amanda- Sounds like u have one clever little boy on ur hands.
Rynosmum- How r u finding being back at work? Sounds like Siena is being a angel for you.
Vee- Im always looking at ur pics on facebook, ur boys r gorjus and growing up so fast.
A big hello to Mel, Meegzz, Lauren and HBP!!!
That's great news for you Kayla - glad something is FINALLY going your way (had it got as far as court yet, or is he doing this to avoid it??...either way doesn't matter - it's being done :smiliedance:) - hope that this is all cleared up and then you can both get on with life :yelclap:
Amanda, you always have just the right words to say, thanks so much, i really appreciate that. :hugs: :hugs: I would love to catch up again but am super busy atm and i have an exam in 2 weeks that i have to study for, would love to meet Charlotte and see the young men play together. We are also going to Perth next month i really need the change of scenery.
Cassie - Having also had a termination i know that it leaves lasting emotional issues. I think Amanda gave some perfect advice, but it is up to you and your DH what you guys do. :hugs: :hugs:
Kayla - Stoked for you that he will do the DNA he's dreaming if he thinks you should pay half. Glad you like the pics on facebook and thank you for the sweet comments. :hugs:
Kayla thats excellent news....
I might see if i can come and see you.. just have to arrange some thing with the kids.... as you know i cant fly with 2 under 2.....

Cassie:hugs: I really don't envy your decision at all - there is so much for you both to think about it. I tend to agree with Amanda's thoughts - it would be a challenge now but having 3 kids so close would be great as they grew up. I hope that you and hubby get to have a good chat about it soon.
Vee, we've all had days like that so don't let it do your head in too much. You study, you have Josh and Cam AND you are there for Milo too. It's a HUGE job and no wonder you get stressed. It's those stressed days where our bigger kids can really try it on too. Ry was acting up recently as to be honest, I was struggling with balancing their bedtimes so was letting him stay up later until after S went to bed. I've now moved him back to 7:30 so I take S with me and we have a play on his bed for a while, then I come back out and feed S before putting her down. Ry's manners have changed dramatically - I think he needed that extra hour or so
Apart from that, I think sometimes we all need a break...somehow.:hugs:
Well, I would like to introduce you all to Siana the Sleeper! She has been sleeping through from 8 until 3/4 all week then last night, woke at 2:30 but by the time I got there she was back asleep again...until 5am! I really don't know what the change has been but I'm not questioning it. How nice that she had it coincide with my first week back at work - it has helped enormously. She had her 4 month injections yesterday (only 6 weeks late:o) and thankfully was still good.
Kayla, good to hear that all is working out on the DNA front.
It's a nice start to the weekend - S is asleep in her rocker, R is sitting on my lap watching cartoons (has he noticed how BIG he is these days??:p). I'm off to get the paper. Have a lovely one everyone!
Kayla Kayla before i forget..
tell Jaylens dad sure i will give you half.. take it out of the bill that you will owe me in backpay or half the doctors bills and ultrasounds that you needed for jaylen :laughing::laughing:

Thought i would give u all a update on Jaylen seeings as though i have in aaggeees!!!
Jaylen is now consistly sleeping though the night which is wonderful, his sleeping from 7:30pm till 8am then he goes back to bed at 9:30am and sleeps till 10:30am then he has another sleep around 1ish and another around 4ish his 1 and 4 nap last anywhere from 40 mintures to an hour. Jay is now drinking 150mls and isnt yet on solids, im thinking of delaying him till 7 mths as his not ready. Jay will be 6 mths on the 3rd of November!!!
Jay still isnt rolling  but he is trying pull his self up into the sitting postion and can sit up by his self for a couple of seconds, i think his going to miss rolling lol. Jays 2 bottom teeth are oh so close.
Well thats enough about my DS!
Bel- Good one, wonder wat he would say if i told him that. YAY come to Melbourne! it sucks how they wont let 2 infants fly with only one adult.
amanda- Its been to court once which he didnt no about but it was meant to go to court on november 13th which if he didnt show to that then the court would have ordered him Jays dad so his trying to keep it from going to court or else he will have to pay court costs, this is the "easy" way out for him.
Vee- How r ur gorjus boys going?
Rynosmum- Sounds like S is doing really well.

well we made the decision to terminate the pregnancy. we think that it is best. we r just not in the right position to keep it, even thou we want it. i am a bit upset as i never wanted to do an abortion again. but i feel that it is the right thing to do. we dont want to neglect dylan and nat because we have a new born. plus we would have to change alot of things around here. :crying:
Thanks everyone for all ur support. i am now in tears writing this.

I haven't been on for a few days and so much has happened in here!
Firstly, cassie I'm so sorry to hear of what you're going through. Excitement at being pregnant, and then the hard decision of whether to terminate or not. I totally get where you're coming from about not being able to enjoy Dylan and Nat if you had another baby. It think, for me personally, now that I have children of my own an abortion would be so, so hard but only you and your husband can decide on what is the best thing for your family and I'm sure you will make the right decision :hugs:
Vee, I just want to comend you for being so honest. Wow, I read your post and the first thing I thought to myself was good on you for admitting to the feelings that many, many women have from time to time. It doesn't make you love Josh any less, but when they play up and push all your buttons they do make it hard for us to tolerate them at times. Sometimes I say to my hubby, you deal with E and I'll deal with L - he doesn't answer back yet . Don't be so hard on yourself, you have alot to deal with - your hypermobility, DH's illness, 2 small kids, studying, avon etc etc., I think you're doing a remarkable job. I hope the trip to Perth will be the break that you need to re-charge the batteries :hugs:
RM, so glad to hear that S is sleeping through the night. What a sweetie to start doing that the week you start working. Now can you get her to give my son a call and tell him to pull his finger out and start sleeping properly please!! He is all over the shop at the moment and I had to start him on farex because I think he's hungry. Yesterday he had 3 tspns, 2 today.
Kayla, glad to hear that J's dad will finally be doing a paternity test. Sounds like J is doing wonderfully, so glad to hear that, you sound happy and I love your new avatar pic
Where is IM, she hasn't been on in ages? Did you catch up with her when she came to Qld amanda??
hbp, yes L feeds for about an hour, sometimes more, during the night. He has a feed for about 25 mins, then a nappy change, then another 20 min feed and sometimes, if I'm really lucky, he will be wide awake after that so I have the priviledge of having to rock him to sleep (because L is still sleeping in our room and I can't just put him into his cot as DH needs his sleep so he can get up early for work), in his rocker, when all I want to do is sleep  thankfully that doesn't happen much though! If I only fed him for 15 mins he would wake up an hour later again wanting more!!
Hi to everyone I've missed. Hope you are all well and that your babies are behaving themselves.
Not much to report on our front ... went to my bro's house last night as it was the 10 year anniversary of my nephew's birthday, very sad. There was alot of stories being told about him, alot of laughter etc., but every now and then I'd look over at my bro and he just looked so sad :(. Life is cruel sometimes!! My kids got lots of extra cuddles from me last night ... they were very well behaved, although E was tired as she had kinder yesterday morning, then prep transition and then the bbq last night so she was exhausted. L was great ... we got home at about 10.45pm so I fed him and he was asleep by 11.30pm but then woke at 2.30am for a feed :hair:. Mummy needs sleep!
Well I'd better go and see what E is up to outside, L is asleep and I might go and have a nap soon too!
Vee, we've all had days like that so don't let it do your head in too much. You study, you have Josh and Cam AND you are there for Milo too. It's a HUGE job and no wonder you get stressed. Apart from that, I think sometimes we all need a break...somehow.
Thanks heaps Rynosmum - Glad to know i'm not alone, it's a tough gig sometimes. That's so great that S and R are going along nicely, i love it when we have great days.
Kayla - Great to hear that Jay is doing so well, you are so lucky and such a wonderful mummy! :hugs: The boys are going well.
well we made the decision to terminate the pregnancy. we think that it is best. we r just not in the right position to keep iten thou we want it. i am a bit upset as i never wanted to do an abortion again. but i feel that it is the right thing to do. we dont want to neglect dylan and nat because we have a new born. plus we would have to change alot of things around here.

I am so sorry, i really don't envy you at all and understand what an absolutely traumatic and difficult decision you have had to make in the best interests of your family. Please take care. :hugs:

Thanks Mel, that was so lovely of you, i am seeing a counsellor finally after 4 years of dealing with Milo etc, and i think it's helping i was also pretty proud of myself even though somewhat ashamed but i opened up to her about it aswell and she was really good about it, so i am taking things day by day, i really wish i had of taken my rescue remedy or something before i got so agitated, but never in the moment did i think about that, it was so awful. We had a great day yesterday at the pool it was Cam's first proper swim and Joshy was great, i picked him up early from daycare while they were napping cause i just wanted to be with my little mister and we all had fun at the pool. Sounds like you guys have been super busy too, hope Lincoln gives you some extra long sleep times soon maybe once he starts eating a bit more too he will sleep longer. :)
I am also wondering how IM is, hope you are well Bec. :)
Cassie - just want to offer you some :hugs: for the big decision making process
Mel - nope didn't hear from IM while she was here - would have been lovely to meet her (and I and C), but I com[letely understand how hectic it can be doing the family stuff
Thinking it might be shower and bed time already - have had two 4.30 am mornings in a row (yesterday M fed at 4.30, but then lay in bed calling out, so woke Charlotte up before 5...and today was worse, C woke up a bit disoriented (we were up the coast at a friend unit) M woke at 4.50, and then by 5.40 the friends 2 boys were up too :dizzy: ...so for under 6 before 6am  ....needless to say, its been a LOOONNNGGG day (but just had to check in ;))
Hey Amanda - You poor thing, that is early, geez i don't know how you've lasted this long i would have had a nanna nap.
We have had a weirdish day today with Cam, he is not himself, he is really tired, feeds often and then just is a bit whingy, like a really sad cry, it breaks my heart, he's not having pain or anything like that just sooky little bubba cries, my little baby. :( He has basically slept all day long and not played today. I hope he is ok and i hope he sleeps tonight seeing as he slept so much today. Poor baby.

Thanks everyone. I am going to the doctor today about it and also i got a cold yesterday and feel like ****. I just want to get it over and done with so i dont have to think about it anymore. I was feeling very emotional on saturday. I havent been having many symptoms which helps me to think that im not preg and dont get to attached to being preg. ive only had cramping and feeling a little tired and thats about it. which is better than my last 2 pregnancies.
Thank you everyone for your advice. and have a really good day.
Cassie, will be thinking of you today, i hope if you have the flu it goes away soon too. :hugs: :hugs: Look after yourself. :hugs:
Just thought Id drop in and say Hi,as I havent been here in a while.
We are all getting over chest infections at the moment, I still feel crappy after having it for 3 weeks and not eating for 2.
Jacob is doing well, havent had anymore visits to the hospital and Im hope we wont anytime soon besides for his appointments.
I will be starting Jacob on solids this week not that he really seems interested though, but hes such a skinny little thing Im hoping he might like his food :D
Still no signs of rolling or teeth here yet.
Just wondering aswell what is everyone getting there little ones for Xmas? I have no idea what to get Jacob its kinda a tricky age 7 months:yes:

i am seeing a counsellor finally after 4 years of dealing with Milo etc, and i think it's helping
Well that will probably help you because it's great to be able to talk to someone about what you're going through rather than bottling it all up inside. That rescue remedy is great stuff isn't it? I'm glad that you had fun at the pool with your boys, I must take L again soon but need to get myself some new togs before I can as the old ones stretched when I was preggy and now look grosse and saggy!
Mel - nope didn't hear from IM while she was here
I hope she's ok, we haven't heard from her for weeks! IM, if you're reading this poke your head in and say g'day :D
so for under 6 before 6am
Hope you recovered from your lack of sleep amanda ... sleep deprivation is a terrible thing isn't it?? I know all about it atm!!
We have had a weirdish day today with Cam, he is not himself, he is really tired, feeds often and then just is a bit whingy, like a really sad cry, it breaks my heart
L had a day like that a few weeks ago, he basically just fed and slept ... health nurse said it was a growth spurt! Hope C's feeling better today.
I just want to get it over and done with so i dont have to think about it anymore.
:hugs: cass ... don't really know what else to say, but if I were in your situation and had made the decision to terminate then I'd want it to be done as quickly as possible too, completely understand that. We're all here for you if you need to talk!
Hi melly, I think there's been alot of chest infections/flus/colds etc going around because of the change in weather. Glad to hear that you're all on the tail end of it, and that Jacob is doing well. I won't be getting L much at this young age, probably just something age appropriate from fisher price and some clothes!!
L has been good the past 2 nights, both nights I've had a solid 5 hours, then 3 hours sleep and feel much better today :smiliedance:. E is at kinder, L is asleep now, the house is clean & quiet (it's amazing how I appreciate quietness these days) but there is SO much washing to fold, better go and do that: no-one has any jocks left in their drawers
Forgot to add, that L rolled 4 times on Sunday, and twice yesterday, from back to tummy, and I started him on Farex. He loved it the first day, had 2 tspns, but has spat it out ever since!!
Hi Guys
I hope you don't mind me jumping in and joining your conversations, its so good to have others with babies the same age. I have sooooooo much learning to do.
A little background on me/us:
I am Rachel and my hubby is Steve and we became Mum and Dad to Jordan at the end of June. Jordan is biologically our nephew (who was born on May 3rd 2008) and was taken from his parents by DHS and now lives with us and will forever live with us. The boy has had a rough start, he spent 6 of the first 12 weeks of life in hospital due to feeding issues and failure to thrive, all of which turned out to be due to a cyst at the very base of his tounge (this wasn't discovered until he had stopped breathing 3 times!!). He has issues with the protiens in dairy products so prescription formula it is (at a whopping $109.83!!) and now that he's eating solids we have issues with store bought foods!! This boy is keeping me on my toes I'll tell you that. Hubby and I have no other children, Jordy is our first, so I'm keen to learn all the tricks of the trade from you gals!!
I'm off to do some reading, 23 pages is a lot to read!! Thanx

Hey Damamma! Welcome to the thread! Glad to have you here! Wow! What a journey you have been on with Jordan!
This place is awesome, i have learnt so much from this group, as we all have bubs around same age... and it's great to just vent when things have turned upside down (or bubs just wont settle!)
Feel free to post any questions or queries and no doubt someone will have been through it.
My baby was born a day after Jordan so very similar age... we are going to introduce solids in about two weeks time after his 6 month injections... but i think i might make my own rice cereal to start with.
Cassie: ooh good luck today, we will be thinking of you. I do hope it all goes swiftly for you :hugs:
Vee: :hugs: sounds like you've had a rough trot lately too... you sure do have a lot going on, it builds up and then theres always an explosion of things said that aren't meant! It's such a common thing when so much is happening. Don't be too hard on yourself.
Mel: whooo it's great getting a good stint of sleep ey? 5 hours is great when you've been living on 3 hour stints!
We had the indy here on the weekend which is literally right down the road from where i live... sooo noisy and soo many loons around  made it hard for T to nap... need to sound proof his bedroom somehow... anyone else have this kind of trouble?

Before anything else....Cassie :hugs: reading what you've written I can't help but wonder if this really was your decision...I hope what ever happens you can move on and be happy.
Vee- What Amanda said there about your situation (sorry its pages back) I feel that way a lot too, I'm horrible to Jasmine at times and hate myself every day for it.
Thats great news Kayla!
Hi Guys
I hope you don't mind me jumping in and joining your conversations, its so good to have others with babies the same age. I have sooooooo much learning to do.
Congratulations and welcome! I'm the resident crazy woman don't mind me!! If you need advice you've come to the right place!
Me- I'm on some pretty hard core pain killers at the moment and feeling pretty out of it. Can't breast feed anymore and my milk is drying up so not too happy about that.
Surgery went ok, but I wont be normal again for another week and a bit. They make you eat normal food now instead of just ice cream and jelly. I didn't sleep at all when i was in the hospital and have barely slept since Wendesday, haven't done number 2's since (sorry TMI) then either because of all the meds...
I've pretty much come to breaking point this week, and really just can't go on anymore. I start some anti crazy meds as soon as I can find a new GP, lucky there is one just a block away from the new place, no excuse to not make an appointment and get myself sorted. I still probably wont end up getting anywhere though...there is always either no many to pay for counselling or the waiting list is too long by then I'm usually having a good period and nothing ever actually gets settled. I'm hoping we can come up with the money for at least a couple of sessions...I just can't keep this stuff in anymore and really can't talk to anyone I know. Sorry if that all sounds jumbled...
Just wanted to let you know I'm still alive...just and trying to sort myself out. Aurora had her 3 month injections today, she's pretty sleepy. Jasmine got more upset about the needles than she did.
I've had 2 real estate agents rock up here in the last few weeks asking us when we're moving (there is no for sale or rent sign out the front, so how do they know we are moving?). Landlord is adamant they haven't sent anyone around and says they must just be door knocking. LIES all lies....can't trust anyone these days. Our neighbours haven't been bothered by these agents, they come to the door and ask us when we're moving out...
catch ya's later....i'm pretty out of it today sorry....
Hey Melly - Good to see you in here again was wondering how Jacob has been with his operations etc. Goodluck with introducing solids, that's very exciting. With Christmas Cam is getting a few things from the grandparents, mainly fisher price stuff and also i think clothes.
Emsmum - Thanks so much sweetie, and yeah the counselling is going well. And with Cam i agree i think it was just a growth spurt, he was so cute though, just sooky and sleepy.
PJ - Appreciate that too, i can totally relate to what you mean. Sorry to hear you are having some stresses too, i hope the counselling and the medication helps, you really have been through so much. Can't believe the real estate agents are knocking on your door, that's so rude! Hope you are feeling better soon getting your tonsils out sucks majorly and i'm so sorry it means you have to stop breastfeeding. :hugs:
HBP - You're right how you explained i think it just builds up and builds up until something snaps. Not good though, need to direct the anger somewhere else not my poor little kid, even though he is the one that tests me the most at times! lol The indy would be fun to visit but not while you're living there that would be annoying, too many idiots around. As for soundproofing his room, no idea, but maybe putting a CD on in his room may counteract the outside noise?
Damamma - Welcome to our chatty thread, i hope all goes well with your little one Jordan how lucky he is to be placed with such a caring family, and what a difficult road he has had already poor thing. Hope you find a lot of help and info here. :)
Also just wanted to mention but hoping i don't jinx myself but we have found some cream that seems to be helping Cam's excema heaps, it's teatree oil antiseptic cream, read the back and it's suitable for excema and to use on babies, and his skin is looking much better, still there but not red and awful. So hopefully this may help at least with the flare ups. The other lower dose cortizone cream made his excema worse.
Hope everyone else who hasn't popped in in a while are going well.
Welcome Damamma - Certainly sounds like an exciting start to life for Jordan!! Will be lovely getting to know you all (and we are chatty...this 23 pages is in the 3rd lot since the bubs were all born in May ). Hope he becomes the sunshine in your life :sunshine: My May baby, Mitchell was born on the 5th, and he has a 2 year old big sister
EmsMum - sounds like you might be just using the farex as thickener then? I'm still holding out - though he's already proved that he loves to drink water from your glass...luckily we've got a purifier
HBP - no advice re soundproofing...we're in the middle of nowhere here! How disruptive is Indy! It used to be bad enough going to visit Mum and Dad at Carrara, let alone living in the thick of it!
V - fantstic that you've found something to at least take the top off it...and natural to boot. Hope that it heeps working for him...even if just to keep it at bay so that you only have to use the steroid cream sporadically. Good luck for your exam (i might just have to brave a playcentre by myself...C's only at FDC Monday, so it'll be a looooong week otherwise - am going to recruit my Mum into going with us to "the Corner" at the State Library one day - have heard fantastic things about it, just hope it's not all over C's head)
PJ - so when's the big move? My brother has just picked up the keys to his new place - poor bugger is having to do most of it cause my SIL is 32 weeks, so can't do a hell of a lot (and they have to be out of their rental by Friday, so most people are at work between now and then)
5 months is still lots longer than what you did think you were going to be able to do PJ, so that's definitly something to celebrate...and she'll start moving towards food soon, so that takes some of the reliance off milk as well. And if all of the meds help you to feel better about life, then you'll feel like a better mummy and while it's not completely what you want, it's probably more important than moving to formula at this stage :hugs: (though V probably said it better with a sorry :-) )
Sooooo disappointed that you didn't get the jelly and icecream treatment - I would have been chucking a tanty  My brother had tonsils and adnoids removed and grommits put in when he was 4...and he woke up demanding weetbix - odd odd boy

Oh you poor love! My dad used to live in Albert Park, about 5 mins away from where the Grand Prix was and it was just ridiculous .... so they rented their house out one time for a week and went to Hamilton Island  there you go, what a good option for you for next year!! They got mega bucks too for their 2 bedroom terrace house, something like $1200 for the week
we have found some cream that seems to be helping Cam's excema heaps, it's teatree oil antiseptic cream
That's great Vee ... my dad used to swear by teatree oil for anything and everything ... glad to hear that it's helping C and hopefully it continues to get better.
Welcome damamma ... looking forward to chatting to you more and congratulations on becoming a mummy! I'm Mel, I have a 4yo (5 in January) daughter, and my son Lincoln was born on 22 May. Was the cyst removed from the bottom of Jordan's tongue? I can't believe the price of prescription formula, good lord. Definately sounds like you will be kept on your toes, but I'm sure it will be all worth it!!
PJ, glad to hear that you're still with us. I hope that you do go through with seeing someone once you move, because as I said to Vee earlier bottling everything up inside you is not good ... I did this for many years when my mum died and almost had a nervous break down, I would definately urge you to talk to someone, find a way somehow!! Also, as amanda mentioned if you can get on the right medication you will be happier and enjoy your girls, and you managed 5 months of breastfeeding which is a great effort.
Anyhoo, I'm off to bed! Nighty nite!!
Thanx for the welcome girls!! Jordy definatly is the sunshine of my life, its like my heart has been removed from my body and I now get to hold it in my arms, such a special little guy.
He was removed from his parents because his bio Mum (BM), who is 23, doesn't know how to look after him, she would do things like hold him by his feet and neck, not feed him enough, and try to change him on her lap and his bio Dad (BD), who is my 25 year old brother, just isn't interested, would rather sleep than look after Jordy, would rather buy video games instead of formula that sort of stuff. Both of them have for quite some time, since he was about 5 weeks old, been trying to get him signed over to us. Neither one of them visited him unless they were taken to the hospital when he was there (even though they only lived a block and a half away), neither of them went to Melbourne (a 4 hour drive from here) when he went there via ambulance when he had to have surgery.
This whole thing breaks my heart, he is such an incredibly precious boy and they just can't be bothered. I guess I'm a little sensitive to it though as hubby and I can't have kids of our own.
We're in the process of getting permenant placement through the courts but the BM's mother is causing issues.:hair:
On a brighter note Jordy has learned to roll over. He's been doing it for a couple of weeks now. Only trouble is he HATES being on his belly, screams and screams and screams as soon as he rolls over. And he'll keep screaming until I finally give in and roll him back. I've tried laying with him, laying him on different surfaces, reading to him while hes on his tummy, giving him favorite toys, but nothing seems to work, any suggestions??
I thought I had it rough with the sleeping issue, but I have it wonderfully compared to some of you gals. Jordy goes to bed at 8pm, wakes for a bottle at 4:30-5:30ish and then goes back to sleep for at least another hour when I'm getting up for work anyways.
Hi girls
I'm from the June mums thread, but my DS was 7 weeks prem, so was born on the 8th May. Hope you don't mind me butting in.
Just wanted to ask those that are doing solids, how many meals a day are your babies having & how much do they eat?
He has issues with the protiens in dairy products so prescription formula it is (at a whopping $109.83!!)
My DS is the same & is also on prescription formula. Are you entitled to a health care card at all? If so, you'll get 8 tins for $5! It makes a mega difference. I've found my DS will eat pureed apple & pureed pear without a worry, but was no good with one that also had banana in. Good luck with everything. I think it's wonderful what you've done for him :goodvibes:
so they rented their house out one time for a week and went to Hamilton Island  there you go, what a good option for you for next year!! They got mega bucks too for their 2 bedroom terrace house, something like $1200 for the week

That sounds like a fantastic idea for you HBP - the unit that you came to visit us at, is was rented out for $3300 for the 4 days of Indy...and while it was right on the track, I wouldn't imagine you could have seen anything from the 2nd floor
Oh Damamma - your post made me want to :crying: - while it's an absolute tragedy, what a wonderful thing to have happen for you given your situation. While I don't envy her position I really REALLY hope that the BM doesn't step in the way of something that just sounds so perfect for all of you (and most of all, best for Jordy)....I have a great friend (my eldests godmother) who has some issues with fertility...IVF is looking like a reality, and if that doesn't work, I'd be sooo tempted to offer to help her out - they are the sort of couple who it would be a tragedy for them not to be able to become parents)
Can't help with the anti tummy time - both of mine have loved it, but I know Kayla was having some issues with J, so she may have some advice when she's on next...once he realises that tummy means mobility he'll settle into it (M loves his tummy, cause he now scoots across the floor...I sooo have to finish cleaning my house up :p)....and I think we all wish for a sleeper like that! M goes down abot 6, and then we do a feed sometime between 10 and midnight, and then 2 and 4 ... hoping that solids will fix that in a few weeks (so can't help you yet Katakai - sorry)

hi all
havnt popped in, in a while.
where to start...
i guess a little on us for the moment.
well, Kyra is doing really well, sleeping about 11hrs at night for us. we went through a few rough patches with her sleeping cause of teething. Ky has 3 teeth coming through, 1 has nearly cut through, thank god! shes now eating 2 meals a day( i must add, she loves pumpkin and sweet potato) and still having 5 bottles. rolls around everywhere, shes so cheeky. had her weighed today and she was just under 6.5 kg so we are getting there with putting on weight! yay. shes 5 months on sunday.her reflux is still really bad, so we are going back to the paed in 3 weeks to get it sorted... nothing seems to be working, its such a pain!
DP went back to work last week, and we are bit angry about the money he is earning after been promised soo much more! such a pain in the ***! but we will get it sorted out soon!
umm, me, im alright, sleeping really badly, only getting a few hours a night. ive been getting consistant headaches for the past 2 months, but the docs are hopeless and cant find out whats wrong. could just be stress.
other than that, not much else...
heres some personals!
kayla- so glad to hear jays dad has agreed to the DNA test. god i bet its a big weight off of your shoulders!! glad to hear the lil tyke is doing well.
cassie- so soory to hear of everything thats happening. keep strong an positive, i know exactly how hard it all is when making decisions like this. my love goes out to you and your DH. i know we havnt spoken much, but im here if you need me! =]
rachel- welcome to the thread, i was once a regular in here, but not soo much anymore. dont know why, just so much going on wit the little one. my daughter was actually born in june, but i was due in may so thats why im still in here talking to these lovely ladies. seems like you have your hands full with little jordan! glad he has found a loving home and such loving mummy and daddy! as far as tummy time goes, Ky used to hate it also, but, i started putting her on the bed and getting down to her level to take her mind off her being o her tummy, gradually for longer periods and now she loves it and rolls everywhere.
PJ- hope your feeling a lil better today, make sure you get to that doc hey. just try and relax, i know its hard. hun, through medicare, if you go to the doc, they can give you a referal for 6 free sessions to a psychologist if thats what your looking for, so you will not need the money. hth.
kotakai- my bub is nearly a month younger than yours, shes 5 months this coming sunday. she started solids at 4months and we just started off with farex, which she didnt realy like, but she is having 2 meals a day now, shes having pear and apple in the morning (about 2 tablespoons) and shes having pumpkin and swwet potato for dinner(about 3-4 tables spoons i guess) and still has 5 bottles a day(100mls each bottle roughly). now that shes getting the hang of eating, shes going really well! shes doing great! hth
:wave:amanda,HBP,RM, bel,mel,V8. and anyone else ive misssed!
take care everyone!

Before anything else....Cassie :hugs: reading what you've written I can't help but wonder if this really was your decision...I hope what ever happens you can move on and be happy.
PJ- it was both of ours decision. i did want to keep it but we just cant and i know that. we dont have the room. and nat is still so young. If nat was like closer to a year then we probably would of kept it and managed somehow. Hubby said to me that if we were living in sri lanka and with his parents then we would keep it casue i would have his mum to help me. but i dont have anyone else here to help me during the day. my mother works full time.
Well i went to the doctors and she gave me a referal to get a blood test first and a prescription for the pill. She is going to call the hospital i gave birth at to see if they do terminations cause she usually sends people to the Royal Womens Hospital. if they dont then i will be going to the Womens. She is going to send the referal once my blood test comes in 2moro. So hopefully buy the end of the week it will be gone or the start of next week.
Cassie :hugs:.... please dont let the age gap scare you its bigger then what i have, sienna was 3 mths when i was pregnant.. but i can understand where you are coming from
He has issues with the protiens in dairy products so prescription formula it is (at a whopping $109.83!!) and now that he's eating solids we have issues with store bought foods!! Hi  Jarvis is on prescription formula and i pay $31 for 5 tins.. no discounts or any thing its on the PBS what formula do you have to get?
kotakai - hi and welcome..
Mel you have told us before but what happened to your nephew????

Cassie :hugs:.... please dont let the age gap scare you its bigger then what i have, sienna was 3 mths when i was pregnant.. but i can understand where you are coming from
im not really scared of the age gap, we just dont have the room. and we r going to sri lanka in febuary next year and i would have to be so careful on what i would eat. it would be hard on all of us 3 kids in a 2 bedroom unit. we want to stay in this place until we get public housing which could be a year or more then when we r 30 we want to buy our own place. dyl and nat will share a room once nat grows out of the cradle but if we have the newborn and it grows out of the cradle where is it going to sleep. we can only fit 2 beds in the other room. we have so much stuff in this place that we dont have room for, we really need a bigger place already. so hopefully we can get a 3 bedroom place when we get into the public housing.
Cassie - It's not an easy decision and one i'm sure you have both agonised over, i truly wish you didn't have to make such a hard decision, but you have to do what's best for you and your family. :hugs:
Mummajugs - Good to see you again, glad to hear things with Ky are good even though you sound really busy. :) Sounds like she's loving her food and it's great to hear that she is putting on some weight. :)
Kotakai - I haven't started solids just yet, but a few others have so i'm sure they'll give you some great ideas. :)
Anywho, better get going have a few phone calls and errands to do today. :D (ohh and yeah study for my exam next week!) I'm such a procrastinator though!
Hi Jarvis is on prescription formula and i pay $31 for 5 tins.. no discounts or any thing its on the PBS what formula do you have to get?
Jordan is on Pepti Junior and I have tried to get a heath care card just for him but centrelink says that hubby and I earn too much. I did just go to the centrelink website and it says that we are eligble for a health care card for Jordan so I might just have to go back in..........I haven't had to deal with centrelink before Jordy but GRRRRRRRR!!
Cassie, I don't envy your position, whatever you decide I wish you luck.
Just wanted to ask those that are doing solids, how many meals a day are your babies having & how much do they eat?
Jordy has been having solids since he was 4 months (the pead. wanted us to start early to try and strengthen his jaw muscles (Jordy has a small lower jaw which makes his breathing noisy and dr's found that if you pull it forward the noise stops, so we were given the option of surgery to pull it forward, or we could watch and see if it develops and corrects itself). But right now he eats 2 or 3 meals a day. I prepare all his food and freeze it in ice-cube trays and he's eating usually between 4 and 6 cubes at a time. He usually has 1/2 a weetbix with some pureed apple in the morning and veg. at night. I'm just starting to toy with the idea of adding meat to his diet, but I'm not sure how or what or how much, so I'm going to do some more reading first.

Okay this won't work - I just went through and multiquoted and got about 12 posts!!! Okay, I'll try personals instead.
Melly! Good to hear that J is doing well. Sorry to hear that you aren't well though. Good to see you back!
I'm not sure what to get S for Christmas. Ry was born at the exact time of year she was so she already has a heap of toys to play with. She gets so excited when she sees something new - little arms and legs pump and eyes are wide - it's so gorgeous.
Mel, awesome that L is sleeping better. We went from no more than 3 hours straight to a consistent 6.5+ hours which has been pure bliss. She still gets up somewhere between 2:30 and 4 for a feed and is then up for the day between 4 and 5 but I'm fine with that after the first good stretch.
I use farex as a thickener. I've pureed the heck out of every fruit and vegetable in the house and freeze in ice cube trays and then move to plastic containers in the fridge. I have large containers of cubes of pureed corn, apple&pear, pumpkin and broccoli in the fridge at the moment. I just mix them with farex and a little formula powder and she gobbles it up:thumbsup:
Awesome about L rolling too - S is doing it heaps now as well and she laughs when she rolls over all the way - thinks it's hilarious:laughing:
Hi Damamma! Great to have you join us - it sounds like Jordan is so lucky to have you and your hubby to love and care for him.
I used store bought foods with my son as I was ill myself when he started solids and just never got out of the habit. I find it so much easier and reassuring now though to make it myself. I just cut it up, steam it in the microwave and blend it. A piece of butternut pumpkin will last for ages when you freeze it in ice cube trays. It's so quick and easy and you know exactly what goes into it. Actually, I put nothing else in - just the fruit or veg and the water that it steams with.
And you're a working Mum too! Me too - just since the beginning of last week. S had her first day at childcare today. She had a great time, slept well and was so happy. I cried my eyes out though - go figure:rolleyes:
PJ - sorry to hear that there's no ice cream or jelly. Ripped off!! I know what you mean about your milk drying up. I breastfeed once every couple of days at the moment. In one way though, I'm appreciating being rid of soggy breastpads but in the other way, I'm missing it.
S is now 7.6kgs though so she's not missing out:p
Vee - awesome news about the tea tree cream! Yay for natural remedies!!!
Hi Kotakai, our bubs were born on the same day so looking forward to sharing milestones with you! S is having 3 meals a day at the moment. I only moved her to a lunch meal a couple of weeks ago (when she started sleeping better at night - go figure....) but she has half a bowl at breakfast and dinner as well.
Cassie, you don't need to explain your decision. I'm sorry that it didn't work out but understand that you had to make up your own mind based on your own circumstances. After having lost 3 bubs, I don't know what decision I would have made but that's the thing, everyones situation is different. I hope you can move on from this - I started the full pill this week but could have just as easily been in your situation.
Better go. I did dinner in the slow cooker and DH is serving it up and 'claiming' the cooking as his own ... smells good though so I don't mind WHO claims it!

Cassie - It's not an easy decision and one i'm sure you have both agonised over, i truly wish you didn't have to make such a hard decision, but you have to do what's best for you and your family. :hugs:
Ditto, I couldn't think of how to put that but thats what I was trying to get across Cassie. Not an easy decision to make...:hugs:
sorry I haven't got much more to comment on, I'm still sooooo out of it, these painkillers really make me foggy.
MJ- have you though you may be a little depressed lately? i know I am at the moment and it sounds similar to what your describing. Take care of yourself, ok? we don't see you on here much, it sounds like you've had a bit of a hard time but you're doing really well.
DP cooked dinner, I'm so ungrateful, I hate stroganoff! its really hard for me to eat right now. It hurts!
Rory is still here and there with her sleep, its been hard the last week because DP has taken her every night so I'm not sure what her sleep pattern is at the moment to be honest. I'm still waiting for these teeth to appear, we've had weeks of unsettled nights and days but still no teeth!!
I'm about to mush up some carrot, good idea to use farex as thickener, too bad we have pear and banana flavour (I don't think that would go so well with carrot). I guess I'll just mix it with formula...
Hi Girls....
Cassie - I have been in this situation too not recently obviously and not with 2 children but before Hunter i had a termination (I got it done in Croydon - you can get a refferal from your doctor to go there, they were really good and looked after me so well) When i had the termination i did it as i thought it was what DP wanted and it was easier than facing reality it is the one thing that i seriously regret in my life which is a big thing as i dont believe in regreting but still somedays i think of it... in a way it was a blessing as if i had that one i wouldnt have the one i have now but then i also see it that maybe the one i have now came back to me and i could of already had him... its soooo hard i suffered severe depression after mine too i hated myself hated DP tried to leave him on many occassions and turned to alcohol as an escape so i didnt have to admit what i had done... i just think that you need to make sure this is really what your heart wants as i know all the people around me suffered really bad from my decision coz it is not what i really wanted (and i thought it was) im not in any way judging you as i have been there too and its not the most nicest thing in the world i too would be thinking a lot if we had no room it would be so hard!!!
:hugs: for you i really hope you are ok!
Kayla - Soooo glad that Jays dad has come round it will make it heaps easier for you now... pity he didnt save you the hassle at the start!
Vee - :hugs: you are doing great!
Lauren - Glas Kyra is thriving hope you get the reflux sorted must be a pain for all of you! Hope you get awnsers to your headaches do you wear glasses???
Rynosmum - I havent tried Hunter on broccoli yet he loves sweet potato and pumpkin and apples and pears i gave him beans today and he wasnt so fussed i will try him again tomorrow hopefully he grows to like them! I heard corn can cause constipation have you had any issues??
Hi Newbies glad you have joined us i hope you come and chat heaps more so we can get to know you!
PJ - How is the quitting smoking going?? You are definatly a stronger woman than me i dont think i could quit and especially not cold turkey!
Us - Hunter is growing nicely getting so big now im not sure how much he weighs just yet but he is nealry 5 months yay! He is such a sweetie gives me cuddles a lot and babbles soooo much he is slowly getting better in the car (thank god) he loves bikkis too i give him arrowroot ones and he loves them sooo much and it keeps him quiet, Daddy is giving him a bottle right now so he is happy! And in a minute it is bed time (he was meant to have a bath but decided he couldnt wait for his bottle so he can have a bath in the morning!)
Well one more thing my bestie who had her baby boy ryder 3 weeks ago has just been told he has cystic fibrosis which is really sad but they say he should have a normal happy life as long as she is quick with colds etc the saddest part is that cystic fibrosis sufferers have such a short lifespan of about 30 years :crying:. She is being really brave though and just taking oneday at a time which is good!
Well i better go the man is finished his bottle and now is crying again needs bed i think speak soon xx

thanks everyone!!!
pj- i was diagnosed with mild pnd, but i think im getting over that now, its more just cause im soo run down. i contacted a sleep school about ky sleeping during the day today. and they said that i can come in for a few days stay. so, its more just arranging it around whatever is happening atm. i think we may go at the end of next week or maybe the week after, when DP gets his job sorted out. thanks for caring. not alot of people do. means alot! =]
meegz- yeah i have glasses but i only wore them when i was pg(my eyes were real bad), although tonight i have started to wear them again, and i havnt had a headache, it could be my solution!
also, i was in your situation witht he termination.i had a termination 3 months before i fell pg with ky, also cause i thought that was what DP wanted. and honestly, you were saying you often think about it and regret it, i think about it EVERY day when i look at my lil girl. its soo hard to forget something like that. i feel your pain! its such a hard decision! =[
cassie- glad that your getting everything sorted out. you do whats best for you and DP! keep your chin up!
thats all from me, im off to bed!
hi to everyone else!

cough cough lauren i care... but i see you so often now i dont really write to you on here...:hugs:
MJ...I think the bravest thing is being able to admit it!:hugs:After seeing how I've reacted to M's birth/after, I have no doubt now that I did have a bout of PND with Charlotte :o - not severe (as in I could still function, which at it's worst I know people can't) but I wasn't able to enjoy it all and was struggling to "put on a brave face" when people saw me (then letting it all hang out afterwards). Hopefully some sleep will make it even better! (just out of interest, what is Ky's sleep like that you're looking at sleep school? We're still having at least 1 (and sometimes 2 feeds a night...admittedly he does go down at 6 which is earlier than most, but usually M's on a 4 hr feed cycle, with the occassional 6 hr gap for good measure - only positive is that he feeds and goes straight back down and self settles, so I don't actually mind feeding him)
And talking about feeding him...the boy wants food!! I walked in yesterday to see him just start to suck on an apple core that C had left on the floor...soon little man, soon (have needles tomorrow, so we'll go from there with food next week)...also found him outside yesterday  I was cleaning out the pantry and heard a wail....got up to find C sitting on the ledge watching M wiggle out the door  It's a little bit of a drop (only one brick side on height), but that might have been a good thing, otherwise I might have found him in the garden :p)

Is your little man crawling already Amanda? I think Rory rolled over the other day, no one was watching and we missed it!:o
We've started moving into the new place today. The RE had to get the locks changed since the tenant says he lost the keys...oh well at least we know the place is secure. A couple of little things that need fixing, a missing tile in the bathroom (seems to be a haven for grime and filth), bedroom door doesn't close and the kitchen cupboards where pretty greasy. Small things I guess, but it means I have to go around and clean before I start putting things away. One thing lacking is we have no pantry to store food!! Ducted heating and air con is going to be great in summer and Jasmine's room has its own ceiling fan. The girls rooms are nice they have blue and purple walls, Jasmine has the biggest room (lucky girl). The house is a little smaller but easier to maintain and soooo close to Aldis and the cheesecake shop!
I've decided to return to work after 4 years, nothing special just a sales position at Aldi's hopefully:fingerscrossed: (only 700meters away from home!!) and DP may stay at home or work part time its up to him. I'm just so sick of being the one *****ing about money, but not being able to contribute. I guess if I'm earning the money its going to be harder for him to get his hands on it!!
Feeling a lot better today now that rent is paid and we're all sorted.
You sound happy PJ which is wonderful....pain that the house wasn't pristine when you arrived, but lots of positive by the looks of it (but the pantry thing could be a killer...been cleaning mine out today and been looking at use by dates *shiver* - and there are definite positives of a smaller house - not as much room for stuff to build up!!
I did see your post yesterday about the job (resume) just had active children so didn't post - that sounds like a great idea if you're both up to it, and as you said, even part time would be extra $'s and oh so convenient (mind you my DH loved being a SAHD for the year, so yours might love it too!)
And as of yesterday he's got the command crawl down pat (both feet pushing off, not just one lopsided) and this morning I walked in to find him propped on one arm and playing with a block with the other hand, so I don't think sitting is far off either! Hope you catch Rory rolling soon!!

PJ: yeah the job prospect sounds great. if you and your DP can manage it, it could be a way to lift your spirits too... aswell as make some extra $$.
Amanda: Yar T is getting his crawl on too. He wont lie still anywhere everrr now! even when i'm feeding him he just wants to be on his tummy! The hardest part is trying to change him after his night bath into pj's... he's really squirmy!
I think Damamma asked about how to get better with tummy time... we struggled for a bit with T - he hated it too, but we just persisted. Straight after a nap, i would feed him then go down on the floor with him for tummy time... sometimes it only lasted 30 seconds sometimes a bit more... AND also do tummy time on yourself, if you lie in the couch and put bubs between your legs or halfway up your body so he can see your face might help?
Lauren: hope your feeling better now and things with Ky pick up with the daytime naps. It's soo hard when they just wont sleep... T has been like that all day yesterday and today too!
meegz: Hunter sounds like he's being adorable. that's great about the car... was he always hating on it before? ooh and verrry sad about your friends bub :(
RM: that's great about S being good in childcare. I imagine i would of balled my eyes out too!! How are you coping with being back at work? loving it or hating it?
Lauren - It is hard to get past hey but i think i am getting there just ended up crazy at the start - you know how it is!
You just gotta think you wouldn't of got the one you have today!
HBP - Yes Hunter screams in the car - i cannot wait for him to turn lol i just hope it gets better when he does turn as i hate driving anywhere with him!
Amanda - Hunter commando crawls too i just got it on tape just then as he decided he wassnt ready for bed but finally he is getting there DP is having a sleepy land war with him at the moment!
PJ - Yay so happy for you, you will learn to adjust to your new smaller home really easily im sure! Good luck with the work side of things too!
He Bel hope you Jarvis Sienna and DH are well!
Hi Kayla hope you and Jay are good!!!!
Hi other lovelies
