Well, we put our house on the market a couple of the days ago and have made the first step to getting to the Sunny Coast! I have to admit it all feels pretty surreal and I'm freaking out a little!

We are coming up there for a visit November 27 and hope to catch the Christmas Boat Lights while we are there. Cherie reckons La Balsa Park is the best vantage point; what do you guys think?

We still haven't decided on a hotel yet. Has anyone got any suggestions?

We are hoping to see a few houses while we are there. We are mainly concentrating in Mountain Creek/Buderim/Sippy Downs/Currimundi areas. I have also contacted Mountain Creek school and will be going for a tour. So, we know we have to be in the zone for that school if we want Brookelin to go there. We will just have to wait and see how much we get for our house. :fingerscrossed: we get a quick sale up the high end of our asking price!

Are there any restaurants we should check out? Neither Paul or I eat fish but we really want to learn to like it, so where do you think we can get the best fish and chips?

Can't wait to come for a visit. Not looking forward to flying though!

You lucky thing you are closer than us, we are going up for a look in November (spending 2 1/2 weeks there) not sure we we are staying yet either, will probably try to get a house in caloundra (with a pool of course :yelclap:) then drive around looking at the places to see where we like. I think we are going to rent our house out then rent somewhere up there for 12 months, that way we can well and truly work out where we want to live before we buy.

Good luck and hope you get top dollar for your house

also if anyone can suggest accom for a couple of weeks? I have been trying the holiday rentals all the good ones are booked

Thanks! It's our first open today and it is especially scary. It feels like the point of no return now lol!

We don't want to book accommodation yet as we may have to cancel our return flight should we get an offer with a short settlement. I hate not having that crystal ball! We also want to get into the market before we get priced out of it.

I realise now that our flights get us there during schoolies week. Is it really full-on in that week?

Anyway, best go and keep cleaning!
