Hi there!
I have also just moved to the bay. Am originally from Maryborough but have been away for a few years. My hubby works away for 3 weeks out of the month so I am also looking to make some new friends. I have a 6 month old little boy called Jack and I have just enrolled him in swimming lessons. Would love to meet up if you're keen! Was actually thinking about starting up or joining a mothers group but not sure where to start.

HI all. I don't live in Hervey Bay but I am interested in the area. I hope you dont mind if I ask a few questions? What is it like to live there? What suburbs are nice and child-friendly? What are the schools like?
I will be moving there in the next few weeks. I'm looking for friends also. :)
Hi Kristyr, Alicia and Happymamma
Awesome would love to organise a get together in a few weeks, I'm up there from next week but won't have internet immediatly. So when I'm back on line we can chat and organise a met up when Alicia is there as well. Kristy where did you enrol Jack in swimming? Alicia when will you be in HB? Thanks for replying girls its nice to know there are others out there in the same boat !! Very overwhelming moving somewhere were you know no-one !! Happymamma, sorry as have not moved to HB yet can't answer any of your questions, maybe will be able to in a month or so.
Talk to you all soon
Gabe
Just a quick reply. I'll be moving there on Tuesday, but I'd like to wait until I'm settled in before meeting anyone. I won't be able to drive anywhere (I'm a tad nervous about driving in Hervey Bay!) for a little while :)
Hi Gabe and Alicia and HappyMom
Gabe...there are basically two pools in Hervey bay. One is the aquatic centre which is the big one and has bbq's etc. The other one is Elders Swim Centre at Pialba which is just a 25 metre pool. I enrolled Jack at Elders because its closer to where I live and he is booked in for a course of ten lessons on Monday mornings starting after the school holidays. The aquatic centre also has them though. There are also "Baby Music Classes" which I just took Jack to last week and it starts again after the holidays. He seemed to really enjoy all of the different instruments and songs and the teacher really involved him in everything even though he's only 7 months old.
Alicia.....if you have any questions just ask me and all you need to know about the Bay is how to drive around round abouts because there are plenty of them! Where are you coming from?
Happy Mumma....
I've lived in maryborugh for most of my life but am pretty new to the Bay. It has really changed a lot in the last few years. As Jack is only 7 months I don't really know about schools/daycare etc but along the esplanade is a really nice place for kids with lots of play equipment and a nice safe beach for swimming. I am really loving living here and am sooo looking foward to having my own little group of "mummy" friends as we've moved around so much over the last few years. talk again soon
Kristy

Hello Ladies,
I live in Hervey Bay and I have for my whole life (20yrs), if you have any questions let me know and I will be happy to help you all out where I can.
I would love to meet up with people, but I don't have a bubby yet, my hubby and I are currently TTC #1, hopefully soon it will be my turn.
Would love to meet up with you ladies and your bubbys. Just remember any questions I will try and answer for you.
Jennie
Hi girls,
I'd love to meet up with you too!
I have been living in Hervey Bay since Dec and have joined playgroups, swimming and gym but am yet to find a close network of friends so would love to meet up if you are interested.
I have a nearly 2yo daughter and a 5mth old boy. My DH works from home so I would love to be able to introduce him to some mates too.
Let me know if you are interested, it'd be great to catch up.
Lisa
Hi Lisa
Would love to meet up sometime. Are you a SAHM? Where are your kids doing swimming lessons? Have just enrolled Jack at the pool in Pialba for after the holidays...can't wait to see him splashing his little chubby legs around!
Nice to meet you!
Hello!
Would love to meet up with you. Probably good to hang around girls with babies.....it might be catching. Think I might try and set a date for a get together as there are quite a few people interested. Talk to you soon
What does everyone think about maybe setting a date for a little get together for about 3 weeks time when everyone arrives? I was thinking we could meet down on the esplanade somewhere where there is some play equipment for those of you with older kids. There seems to be quite a few of us interested so might be best if we just set the date and I'm sure we'll do it again soon after that for those who can't make it this time. What do you all think? I don't have a calender with me but what about around the 18th of October (not sure what day that is)
I just wrote a message but not quite sure where it went! Anyway was just saying that since there are so many of us interested in getting together maybe we should just set a date for about 3 weeks time(maybe around the 18th) and maybe on the esplanade where there is some play equipment for the older kids. I'd say this will be a bit of a regular event so no probs is someone can't make it this time What do you all think?:yelclap:
Stupid me...my message was on the next page...aarrrggg I hate computers!!

Hey there,
Thats cool, I would love to meet up with you ladies. The 18th is a Sat and would suit me perfectly as I am looking for work hopefully will have started a job by then.
I hope that hanging out with mums with bubs is catching.
Esplanade sounds great, heaps of parks along there, I might even get my friend to come along with her lil boy (he's just over 1) she doesnt come on bubhub but im sure she would love to meet some mummies too.
I look forward to the meet up.

Hi there!
Would love you to come! the more the merrier I say! Just waiting to hear back from a few more people about whether the 18th would suit or whether a week day would be better and then shall post an announcement I think.:D
Hi girls,
that would be great!
we went walking along esplanade recently and i stopped to read the sign in front of that place, think it is a political statement about the development along the esplanade it says for sale 5,000,000!
kristy, DH takes our 22mth old swimming on a saturday morning at elders. We were doing monday morning but since having number 2 its a bit hard. it's great there, i should really start taking DS too.
so you're in HVB already? did you want to meet up before the 18th?
Hi all
I would love to me up on the 18th, would this just for girls or for hubby's and partners as well ?? Thanks for the info on swimming classes will enrol my girls when we get there. Looking forward to meeting you all soon,
Cheers
Gabe
