Hi there, just wondering how much success people have actually had with HPTs such as First Response that claim to pick up hCG 5 days before AF is due...

Hey luv, did you read NO REGRETS post? looks like she got a BFP 8 dpo however it doesnt go for everyone. When doing a early HPT only 60% of those who test early get a :bfp: even if they are PG.
When i tested when PG with DS2 i tested 4 days before AF was due and wollla :bfp: so dont be dishearten if you get a BFN as some ladies dont get one untill after AF is late and even longer.

Thank you :hugs: I just needed to hear that, because the box makes it sound like the majority of women should show positive at this point! It's not like I'm new to this, I shouldn't be so caught up in it all, but I'm feeling a bit fragile

Maybe1more is right! I did a HPT the day AF was due with my last bubba and got a BFN. Didn't get a BFP till 4 days later!

Hey hun!
See my thread here http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=206788

Today I'm 9dpo and I got my definite BFP using First Response and another brand that's new to my discount chemist - Assurance Plus+.
I found that for me my lines were much better in the afternoon than this morning. The test I did this morning wouldn't even photograph, but the lines at 2pm and 6pm were clear as a bell.

First Response are great but they're not the cheapest around. I also used Lullaby Conceptions ultra sensitive ones - they don't have them on their website at the moment but they should be available soon I think.

Good luck with it all! :babydust2:
