My son did this to at about 12 months old. He did it for about a week or so then stopped.
I don't really have any advise for you cos I only noticed he did it after there was chew marks at the end of his cot one day. He 's a little woody wood pecker!
you can purchase cot teething rails so they dont bite into the wood.
hahahaha DS did this aswell, then i put the base down to the lowest (i then read the warning that your suppose to do it when bubs starts sitting...he went from lying to standing...no sitting inbetween)
anyways i have teeth marks all over the cot. Please watch out coz DS was standing in his cot one day and i was on the floor talking to him, he lost balance and hit his mouth on the cot. he had blood p***ing out of his mouth ... i thought he had lost one of his teeth...but it was jsut a little nick. thats when the base went down.
very scarey.....

i dont have much advice as my DS only did it twice. cot must not have been tasty  and he has moved on to biting me:thumbsdown: lol
if you are worried about damage to the cot get the teething rails. and if you are worried about damage to DD maybe get a dentist to give her a check up to make sure she hasnt damaged her mouth

Ahhh yes !
I would advise to get the guards you put over the rails but also make sure you do drop the base down for her safety otherwise she may learn to climb that little bit quicker  that would be fun wouldnt it !!!!!
Im lucky that bubs only does it when teething but his rail is bare wood so we dont have to worry about chemicals from paint or the likes & i figure this gets me new cot when i decide to have another bub lol terrible i know its a long story !
My cousin did this & my aunty thought if she changed to a metal cot it would stop him cause of the taste ! Pffft lol he sank his teeth into the metal & took chunks out ! She got her hands on some foam & covered it with strong material & covered the rail & that worked a treat.
Good luck hopefully Bailey just decides to stop on her own :)

I went to babies galore to get the covers but apparently you cant buy them separately u can only get them if the cot has them with it. and of course Bailey's cot doesnt have any,
I;m gonna get my mum to make a cover to go over the edge of the cot.
Her cot base is as far down as it can go. she thinks she is great cos she can stand up. her cot faces her builtin wardrobe that has a mirror and she always looks at herself and giggles!!!!

Bailey sounds so cute. Even though its a pain what they do sometimes, you can't help but laugh on the inside! I never heard of the rail guards. Luckily Ben did it a couple of times and that was that. A couple of chunks missing every time I look at it I think little bugger and laugh.

She's a nutcase!! I love it when i go in to get her in the mornings and she is standing up waiting and she put her arms out for me. it makes my heart melt everytime. Moments like that make all the bad things in the world go away.
