I as wondering if anyone else is NOT impressed with the new version of the Heinz Nurture? Since starting DS on it 2 months ago, we never had any issues, until last week when he started the Australian Made version instead of the NZ made version.

It's more frothy, has lots of air bubbles in it and DS has been incredibly fussy drinking it, filling him up with wind and will only take half feeds due to the froth in the bottle. What feeds he does take, he seems to be very chucky on it. Never was on the NZ version.

Im in the market for a new formula after a week of DS being like this, any suggestions?

Gee, I am glad my bubbas are off it now because their older. I used to give them this formula and I would get it from Big W for around $11 a tin. I liked Lactogen also.

It's just the normal one, not the Gold Stuff. Im so incredibly annoyed. The formula is alo a lot finer than the NZ made version too. Terrible to mix up now.

Bub's is 3 months old.

Hi

I share your pain!!!!!!!

My son started the chuck about 6 times per feed after I opened a new tin. I spook to Heinz and they couldnt see why he would but I know he is not the only one.

Have you looked around for old tins? I did a search and managed to get 18 tins which will last my little man until he is one. I only looked at Big W and didnt have to look else where for them.

I hate it when things change:banghead: but luckily I could find the old tins

I swear by Karicare... I believe it's New Zealand based also.... I had my bubs on Karicare gold + but the 'normal' one is great too.... It's more expensive than Heinz and other brands though.

I personally do not like the Heinz regular formula.

I would recommend S-26 Gold. My DS thrived on it. :)

I use Heinz Gold for DS from 10 months old when he self weaned. Ive never had a prob, maby try that?? instead of going to a whole diff brand...?

The gold is the same. I talked to them about it and they admitted it was different, but to try "rolling" it instead of shaking it. Does the trick for us.

At first I also found old tins, but for the past month or so she's been on the new stuff and had no probs.

We are now transitioning from gold to normal heinz nurture, and so far so good.

Hope you find something else that suits!

I've got 8 week old DD2 on Heinz Gold... I can't remember what it used to be like, but she is really spewy too. I thought it might just be her, but if theres a chance its the formula, I might try a new one - I am sick of washing!

Hi- I found DS to be very constipated on Heinz, i'm now using Bellamys Organic and he loves it !!! Also, his poo's are just like when he was breast feed

i had no problems at all with it, but i think my DS would drink anything and not care, as long as it was in a bottle!

i found it much easier to mix though???

anyway, we are getting the old normal stuff from kmart atm as its all they have and its only 12 a tin instead of 18 like in coles!

Thanks for all the replies! Im glad Im not the only one that thinks that the formula has turned to crappola!

Good news for us, I managed to find some old stock in a chemist and they let me buy the entire stock they had to last until he's 6 months and starting solids  I bought 12 tins  The lady totally understood where I was coming from and even the baby nurse said that she's not recommending the formula to anyone anymore

Why cant companies just leave things the way they are  They are upsetting a lot of bubba's!

So how do you know the difference? Do they have new tins for the new formula?

there is a few little changes on the tin, the lid is different etc, but the way i worked out it was a new tin to start with was when i opened it it had a different scoop.

The thing I hate is if i don't pay attention and she ends up switching back and forth between the old and new. Big W keeps changing the ones they have on their shelves and since I normally buy 2 or 3 at a time I normally get a mixture:no:.
Lucky for me theres only 2 more months I need to formula feed... so I'm just going to stick with them for now although i do hate the way the new one mixes.

So how do you know the difference? Do they have new tins for the new formula?

The new version says "Made in Australia" written on the tin, the old one has "Made in NZ'

I HATED the new scoop, it never went back in properly when the tin was full!

The way I could tell was under the ingredients it has about 7 or 8 under Minerals and the old one has 4 or 5.

Looking for where it is made is a good idea. I didnt think of that. I am glad I could find enough tins to last the next 5 months.

I had the same problem! :hair: Bub was doing really well & I was to the point of thinking I'd finally found a formula she wasn't so spewy on, and then this happens! :banghead: After the change, she was puking heaps of thin liquid, from the end of one feed until the start of the next. We've since changed her to SMA & she's doing great.

I as wondering if anyone else is NOT impressed with the new version of the Heinz Nurture?

Thanks for the heads up on the new "Australian" version of Heinz Nurture.

I have raided every local chemist and shopping center for the old Nurture as our little boy loves the stuff. After a bit of trouble finding a formula that actually agreed with him, I was pretty shattered hearing that it had been changed.

I wonder if Heinz will do anything?

I had basically decided to use Nurture if this bub doesn't take to BF (neither of my other kids did). Now I have no idea what we'd use, as I'm very wary now of trying the Heinz.

Thanks for the feedback!

I thought I would update my own thread

DS2 is doing MUCH better on the old version and back to drinking his normal bottles again. Luckily I managed to find 12 tins of the old version to last until he starts solids at 6 months, he is currently going through one tin a week and is 14 weeks old now so I should be right :fingerscrossed:
