I've fainted three times in the last 5 days, and am constantly dizzy. My head swims when I move it, my eyes are having a lot of difficulty adjusting to movement and I just don't feel right.

My GP said it was postural hypotension, but I'm dizzy now even when sitting or lying down.

I don't see my ob for another couple of weeks, but I'm just wondering if I should call him tomorrow. I'm scared to drive anywhere for fear of fainting again, and my poor son doesn't know what to think of me!

I know that fainting in early pregnancy is common, but this seems really extreme. Has anyone else had this problem, or got any suggestions to help me out? I'm keeping myself really well hydrated and eating small amounts constantly, so I don't think it's a blood sugar problem. I just feel wrong in my body, I can't even describe it.

Any suggestions?

Hi

I haven't had it to that extreme, but with my first pregnancy I almost fainted a few times and was told it was because of my low iron so was put on Fefol for the rest of that pregnancy. I haven't had it with this pregnancy so far, but I have had a lot of lightheadedness (almost constant) that I didn't have first time around. I'm finding it a bit hard to cope with as being on my feet for about 15 mins I get like this and my dr just seems to think that it's normal:rolleyes:.

If I were you though I would definitely be calling my dr tomorrow and telling them the extent of it and how it's really affecting you.

Hi :)

I'm 5 weeks pregnant, and have been feeling quite dizzy too, mostly lightheaded though. Which is extremely annoying, constantly feel like i have to lay down. But I hear it's quite normal, if you have any concerns, best to be on the safe side and call you Ob!

Best of luck :hugs:

I used to get that alot in the first 20wks of my pregnancies

was due to being on my feet too long, low sugars and was probably a little dehydrated

something sweet and lots of water would usually fix the problem for me
