My DS is 9 months old and crawling big time. Now when I change him on the change table he sometimes rolls over onto his front and tries to crawl. Even though I never leave him unattended whilst changing, I'm worried he will fall over the edge if I can't control/hold him well enough.
What have other mums done to avoid this?
I do give him toys etc to keep him occupied but often this doesn't work.
Should I do away with using the change table? Is there a harness or strap thing I can buy to stop him rolling onto his front/crawling whilst changing him?

I have the same problem with my 9 mth old as well.
* Mobile over the change mat
* Singing a song
* Letting him read a book
* Have a couple of toys on hand that are just for change time
* Play peek-a-boo with a bib (place it lightly on their face and let them pull it off) Laughs galore with this one.
* They are turning over as they want to play with what you are "playing" with. Maybe give him a nappy wipe to look and feel.
If you are concerned about him falling off try changing him on the floor or the bed.
Good luck - they do grow out of it eventually.

I usually just change DD on the floor now, shes 9 months as well and crawls all over the place. although shes just taken her first steps so now shes going to be running away from me soon....
but yeah doesnt ur change table come with a buckle on it?
Once Bug got to this stage I just started changing her on a towel on the floor. I didnt want to risk not being strong enough to stop her if she escaped out of my hold (I had NO strength at the time as a result of pneumonia so she couldve easily shaken me off and rolled off the change table) She didnt mind the change, and my change table then became a storage seat for her teddies :laughing:
