View Full Version : Melbourne/VIC mums'n'bubs (July-Aug-Sep)
Note everyone I have changed the title to include all mums from July-Aug-Sep (and of course if you had your baby a bit early and they arrived in June :D )
I was wondering whether any mums from Melbourne or nearby would be interested in meeting up for get together one day soon?
It would be wonderful to meet you all in person and of course all of your gorgeous babies!
Ok so I say again- I would love to meet some more friends.....lol.... I will start maybe by saying I am in the eastern suburbs inthe knox area, if that helps in starting to think about where we are all going to meet. But I am mobile, have a car and love to drive. I have a 6yo at school, so school hours are ok, as long as I am back by 3:30 to pick her up. Saturdays are great too, as DH works so I am free. Ok so these are my details, but won't be able to do these school holidays.
Hope something happens soon, it would be so lovely to see all those cute bubs.
I just posted in the other thread, but this looks like the go! I'm interested too...love to meet you all. I'm in Berwick (not too far from Knox!) in the South Eastern suburbs. I'll go out on a limb and suggest a shopping centre...Chadstone or Fountain Gate? Or maybe a cafe or park somewhere? I'm pretty free as far as time goes.
Ellie - I've PM'd you
OK so far we have
Alison, Ellie, Tracey (tlsmum), Lissa7, Melmc, Lyglc :D
Thinking of where best to go is going to be the challenge :detective: The weather lately has been so unpredictable maybe we should go somewhere indoors??
Those are good suggestions Mel.

Hi All,
I am from the western subs, DF & i went to Albert Park Lake last weekend & it was so nice i was thinking if we pick a nice day there would be great. The weather is getting better now and Albert Park is probably central (near the city without being in the thick of it).
But Al you are right if it is an unpredictable day indoors is probably better.
Anyone else got any ideas?
Cheers,
I am in the east, and would be happy to come along too. I have a 2 YO and 4 YO as well as Joel (2mo)

Hi All,
I am in the western suburbs and would be interested i meeting up too.
I just have my 3 week old bubba and am very interested in meeting new friends.
I am too mobile so could drive anywhere
Does anyone know any play centre near the city- so we could accomodate for those with kids that are a bit older??? I know there is one near Glenferrie (I think) called Lollipop- it has cafe and play area for kids. Any other suggestions- feel free- just an idea.
But I won't be able to make it during the holdays at all.....but after I am all for it.
OK. Maybe we will hold off until after the school holidays. That will give us some time to think about the place we want to go
Ellie - I'm not originally from Melbourne so I don't know the city very well but I can read a road map and get where I want to go. A play centre is definitely a good option for those of us with older children :)
Tracey - Albert Park sounds lovely too. Are there any coffee shops around the park in case the weather turns nasty??
I have been to a nice coffee shop (just back from the beach) in Elwood which has a fenced playground attached. Something like that would be a good place to meet.
Lets keep tossing up some ideas and in the meantime we might get some more takers :p
I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you! It should be fun :goodvibes:

I did not really look at cafe's at the time, so i don't know if they have children friendly cafes around Albert Park.
As i am a new mum, i have not really paid any attention to places that have play area's for older kiddies sorry. I know there are 3 in my area, but that is too far for all the eastern mums.
The Elwood one sounds good. Does it have room for all of our prams?
When do school holidays finish?
***bump***
The school holidays finish at the end of this week I think.
Just bumping up this thread to see if anyone else is interested in joining us????
The cafe in Elwood (Beach house cafe) has some tables outside, some under cover from memory, that have room for prams but I think the cafe inside is probably not easy for a lot of prams.
I think once we decide on a place (any more suggestions??) we will then decide on a day and time by PM. :)
Cheers, Al.
Guys,
Here is the link to the cafe I was talking about.
What do you think??

That looks lovely, and the outdoor part would be good for me having 2 older boys! Although if we could make the meet on a Tuesday i would only have to bring the eldest and youngest, would make it much easier on me!
I'm in and the cafe looks good...the only time I CAN'T do is Tues afternoon - mum's group.
Looking forward to it!
OK I have sent out PMs to everyone who replied to this thread :)
If you didn't recieve a PM and would like to come, please let me know. I hope the group PM worked OK.
If anyone else would like to come please also send me a PM and we will include you
Cheers, Alison.
We have now decided on a place, day and time :yelclap:
If you would like to come please let me know and I will send you the info.
We would love to see you all there!:D
Cheers, Al.

Hope everyone is still ok to make it tomorrow.
Mel - i read in the other post that you are looking forward to it.
Lissa7 - Have you decided if you can make it?
Alison - Hope Lizzy is ok, and that it is just a 24hr bug, and lets hope that poor little Henry does not get this cold.
