I have used all different sterilizing methods did not like the miltons liquid it smelt bad I boiled for the middle two and would throw all the bottles teats etc in a big pot and boils for ten min I have a steam sterilizer this time and it is the best thing soooooo easy to use and so quick pop it all in and press a button!!! They are not to dear any more and a good investment if you plan to have more kids. or you can pick up the microwave steam sterilizers quiet cheap as well now. Good luck :D

I have thought about purchasing a steriliser but deffinately don't have the money at this stage & not planning to have more children for quite a few years either to make it worth while.

Does sterilising stop at 6months or 12months??

Whenever they get mobile enough to eat dirt and dust bunnies from the floor!

I threw everything in a big pot of water, brought it to the boil and let it boil for 5 minutes. It's a bit safer doing it that way compared to putting bottles into already boiling water and risking a burn.

i stopped with DD1 at 12 months and DD2 at 5.5 months. DD1 was my first so i worried a little and thought i had to do it for that long, DD2 logic kicked in and i figured she is crawling around and chewing on stuff (i tend to find her with my shoes sometimes :barf:) so thought there was really no point in doing it any longer.

you can put them in a pot and as said bring to the boil and boil for 5 min.

also just letting you know, now CHN and hospitals tell you it is not required. just a hot wash and rinse and your done.
a lot of people are doing it like this now. i didnt but that was becuase i already had an electic steriliser and figured i might as well use it..

if you were wanting one but don't have much spare cash you can get microwave ones fairly cheap i think

instead of buying a microwave steriliser - you can just buy a decore steaming container (bout $10 from woolies or coles) ... exactly the same.

Put water in the bottom, bottles and teats on the tray/rack bit and pop in microwave.
