smelly discharge??

but the last 2wks or so, i have noticed that i have being getting discharge that has a smell to it... even after a shower or bath it smells, it kinda reminds of cum kinda.... the discharge is white n thick.....


what could it mean? i forgot to mention it to the middie at my last app n my next app isnt or a wk or so

Thrush? Bacterial vaginosis? Probably good to get a swab if it's not normal for you. Vaginosis would be kinda offensive, thrush isn't usually offensive, just cottage cheese like.

they did a swab at my last check up for the strep b, dont no if they would test anything else........... dont think it would be thrush as im not itchy

I was reading somewhere when I was pg that this is common. Usually most women have more discharge than usual. Because it's wet and warm down there, bacteria can grow. (I know TMI :laughing:) Is your dr checking lukicites (sp?)?

ummm whats that?? i just no they did a swab for the 36wk check up for strep b or wat ever it is, wopuld they check other things as well or not

My dr made me pee in a specimen cup, then he would get those long thin strips that show up proteins and blood in the urine. Lukicites (sorry I'm nor sure of the spelling) shows bacteria.

oh ok... no havent had that.how do they test if it is my waters....... wouldnt it keep coming out but........ i hope its not cause if it is its being happening for 2wks or so

it's spelled Leukocytes, google it if you want. As for testing for fluid, they have a paper strip apparently (I've never had it done) that goes a certain colour in the presence of amniotic fluid. Being so close to the birth, this could be a real possibility.

they did a blood test something to do with white n red blood cells for 36wks as well i forgot lol, only cause i found out i have low iron(107)

I'm a couple of weeks behind you Tyrah, and I've noticed a rather marked increase in discharge..... :barf: Really quite gross - and is staining/bleaching my undies really bad!! Trying to remember last time, but nothing's coming. I guess as long as it's not itchy or anything I wouldn't stress too much - just ask the middie at your next appt if it's still there. Might just be normal for the last month or so.

It could be your mucus plug starting to come away, mine came away 3 weeks b4 I went into labour couldn't tell you if it had a smell or not as it fell into the toilet bowl.

Thanks everyone.... i no you get alot more discharge in the last part of ur pregnancy, (i remember it with claire had to wear a pad everyday) but i dont remember it being smelly... thats wat got me worried... mucus plug i remember everyone telling me about it but i dont remember getting it with claire as everyone says its a big blob with blood through it................

wouldnt have a clue as never had it with claire

oh well but will be here soon so hopefull that will stop the smelly discharge

hi i had the same at 32 weeks i was alittle concerned so i rang the maternity ward and told them and they asked me if it smelt like semen i said yes and they said to go up there cause it sounded like amnotic fluid and thats wat the baby was in. they did a scan to see if there was a hole and if the fluid was leaking but lucky there wasnt so they put it dwn to discharge. Hopefully i didnt worry you but u should ring the maternity ward or your midwife:flowerz:
