I wasn't dilated at all, but because my waters had burst, they wanted me to go in. After 55 mins of being in the hospital, I was fully dilated and had a baby 10 mins after that.

With DS - 5cm
With DD - 2cm, was sure I would of been further.

When I got to the hospital the 1st time I was only 1cm also with a prosterior baby and then the second time after 15hrs of labour and contractions 3mins apart all the way a long I was 3cm!!!!! :eek:
26Hrs later and no drugs our beautiful baby girl decided to enter the world!

Hmm first time i went in i was 1-2cm. 12 hours later went in again still 1-2cm. Another 12 hours later i was 3-4cm. Bubs was born 4 and half hours later.

hmmmm when I got to hospital I wasn't dilated at all ... although my waters had broken (same as KM :) ) - so they wanted me to stay ...

12 hours of labour... and I was only 1 cm dilated.,... after an epidural .. I relaxed to a huge 2 cms dilated... bubs went into distress and voila :eek: - emergency c-section...

I wouldn't know what dilated feels like :rolleyes:

That's almost my story too veve! I went in after my waters broke at 38wks and cutting a long story short...42 hours after my waters broke I dilated to a huge 4cm...and yep an hour later DD was born by emergency c-section!!:yelclap:

i was 5cm they said it was lucjy i came in at that time over the phone they just kept sayin wait wait and i was like hell no

I was 9cm when I went to hospital in labor with DS...he was born 55mins later.

I was induced with DD...I think I was about 1cm when they put the gel in.

Hello All ... I was 6cm after 4hrs of contractions at home. They had been telling me to stay at home too when I rang them but when the contractions were 2 mins apart for an hour I just went in.

When i was 39 weeks with dd i was booked in for induction and was 4cm dialated 16hrs later dd entered the world.

I hadnt dilated at all by the time I got to hospital. :crying: Id been in labour for hours before hand too! I was 37 weeks pregnant.

I was 2cm dilated when i got to hospital. My cervix took its time to dilate. I was fully dilated 27hrs after i arrived at hospital!! :eek:

With my DD I have no idea but I was there for 9 hours so I'm guessing not much.

With my DS I was in the waiting room for 30 mins and when they finally put me in a room I was already fully dilated. DS was born 20 mins later.

With first had to be induced so nothing!!!
With 2nd went to drs on thursday and was already 4cm without even knowing anything. Went home and had to wait until the saturday afternoon before she decided to come naturally and was only in the hospital 1 hour and she was born. So pretty much fully dialated when I got there.

Yay hope this one is as easy as the last:fingerscrossed:

5cms with my first, then 9cms with my second - I basically got there and pushed him out, and no I didn't expect to be that dilated!!! So now I figure I can just do that at home, in water ;) Can't wait.

Second births are very different to firsts though ;) Often when you hear about babies born on the doorstep it's a second baby.

Hi everyone,

When I got to hospital, I was 5cm dilated, struggling away with a posterior labour. Before I gave birth, one of the midwives said that the girl in the next room had come in at 9cms dilated, and had popped out a baby girl (while I was STILL stuck there waiting to push!!) Wow! :eek:

Hmmmmm....... :detective: Are you sure you didn't have him in Adelaide?? When I went in I was 9 cms and went straight to the delivery room. On the way I passed another girl who'd been there longer than me. Eden came about 2 hrs. later and this other girl was still waiting. Poor thing.

I was 3cm with DS. It would have been more but I had my show when my waters broke and they were green so I knew something was wrong. DS had passed mecconium so good thing I got there when I did.

I'm not sure how far along I was when I first got there (because they didn't check me straight away) but when they did check me 30 mins or so later I was fully dilated. My whole labour was 3.5 hours in total though, so hardly normal for a first timer!

Nan - just wanted to comment on your daughter's beautiful name, my DS was going to be 'Eden Willow' if he was a girl :)

1st time to hospital - 1am - 3cm
Sent me home at 4am without another check as contractions werent overley regular in their opinion (though 2-3mins apart) and said Id be 'hours'
2nd time - 6am - Fully Dialated and had her at 8.37

With DD i wasn't dilated at all and was induced at 40 weeks with the gel, then next morning i was 2-3 cms when they broke my waters.
DS- I was 3 cms when i went in to be induced this time no gel just waters broken.

I am in pain and in labour
don't need any attention there!
When I have the baby I know i was about 10 cm!

Seven cms and bubs was borns 4 hours later, but in my defence, I had been having quite significant prelabour contractions for 3 weeks prior:(

Hi there I was 3cms dilated...But my contractions didnt stop in between they peaked and then start again peak and start again constantly...They are just the worst things ever.... 2 hours later I was 8cms and 4 hours after arriving at the hospital my DS was born

Fully dilated!!! When I rang the hospital at 5am they said to stay at home and get comfortable and ring back at about 8am. By 6.30 I rang back to say I wanted to come in and they said, sure if you need pain relief come in. Lo and behold I had to start pushing when I got there (they had to break my waters). Lucky I listened to my instincts!

mum2james - I was the same - contracting constantly at 5cm! I was getting a bit irrational, so the midwife thought I might be ready to push!! (Not to be - DS was born 9 hours later!!)

I wasn't dilating when I arrived at hospital - my waters had broken so I had to go in.

I went in at 6.00 pm and was fully dilated and ready to push by 11.00 pm although nobody believed me and they refused to examine me for fear of introducing an infection :mad: Apparently I was coping 'too well' so they didn't think I was more than 1 or 2cm dilated.

When the midwife finally checked she got a bit of a shock to feel the baby's head (and no cervix)!

I was 4cm when i first went in, then they let me go home until i needed drugs (only live down the road) went back in a few hours later for drugs and had bub about 4 hours later.

hey....
i went to the hospital 4 a induction at 1pm and was 2cm and stayed like that for 7 hours then had a epidual.....{witch i didnt want}

at about 8;24pm my doctor wallked in to the room and said "Emergency C-section"
"it should have been done hours ago....."

and then at 8:45pm hayden was born

only just realised a few hours before hand that i was truely in labour :D
