Hi Again,
I'd just like to ask you all a question I have been pondering for quiet some time now. My question is When do you know when your family is complete? How do you know when you have enough children?
I ask this because I have 2 girls and at this point in time our family feels like a whole, I dont feel the need for another child and neither does hubbie. I have been thinking about perminent contraception but I dont want to have it done and then feel that I want more later on down the track.
Any opinions will be a huge help:)

Growing up I always thought I would have only two children and now that I have two children (1 nearly here) I still want one more but I am sure that will be my last. I never really wanted an odd number but I personally feel my life is not complete without one more. I think I will regret not having another one and then my hubby will get the snip. We both would love a little girl but won't care if we have three boys. Children are brought to you as a gift and they come how they come and we can't change that. I look forward to having a family of 5.
You will decide on what is best for you, you may choose a contraceptive that is not permanent if you feel like you may change your mind.
Goodluck.

I think you just 'know'. Just as I know mine is not yet complete, that may change when I have this bub but I have always wanted four of my own children so I think that 'need' is still going to be there for me.
At least I hope I just know and the need doesnt just grow and grow and grow cos I love being a mummy so much lol
Hi. My dh & I also have 2 kids (dd 6 & ds 3) and thought we were done. We figured an equal number was a good place to keep things. Just recently we both got that feeling that our family was "missing" something and that there was room for one more. We actually sat down together and made a pros/cons list of ttc #3(may sound silly, but it really clarified things for us).
When my son was younger, I couldn't imagine being able to handle a third because my ds is a handful already. However, as he has gotten older (and yes, somewhat easier and more independent) I got that baby itch again.
If you think there is a remote chance of a #3, maybe try contraception that is not permanent, but just longer term:) Either way, it sounds like you are already blessed with two beautiful kids that probably fill up your days with lots of love.
Good Luck,
Erica

I have two with 1 due in July
I have a 6 yo ds and 4 yo dd and we thought that we would only have two butas they are gettin more independant and going off to school and kinder I go the itch again and after talking to dh we thought why not???
I know all kids have their bad days but mine are pretty well behaved and thats what makes the decision even easier as they don't climb the walls and get into things their not suppose to.
The only thing that annoys me is because we have 1 of each people say "Why are you going back again?" It p's me off when people make these comments.
We will have how many kids we want not what other people want or expect us to have!!!
I wouldn't do anything too drastic until you are 100% sure that you have as many kids as you feel right for your family
Good luck:thumbsup:

Oh, we got that question all the time, too.....u have one of each, why go again...or the worst was...my BIL who laughed hysterically cos we'd "had an accident"...WTF????..i dont think so......after our 3rd, when he was about 7 weeks, i said to DH, i think I am done...i just want to concentrate on giving these 3 the best we can give them.....then, just before he turned 3, DH brings up having another and it got me thinking...but then he changed his mind...but i am still thinking...lol....but too scared to bring it up....lol

I think u know when ur family's complete when you look at your kid(s) playing, check your bank account and see you still have a few $$ left and you look at your body in the mirror & think to yourself "I am content".

I think when i'm done i will just know, right now i have the itch again, i've always wanted 3 though, so one more would be perfect. I honestly think if i had 1 more more i'd be content and know that that was enough for me!
