Has anyone had experience doing this or working for these guys? I have been offered a job with them but need to know if it'll be worth the energy! don't mind if i don't make a fortune, just don't want to get ripped off (although there's no fees or anything)
ta :)

the people who do it in geelong make zero money as there is that many people doing it. and now not many people buy the stuff coz they get that many brochers for it
i would say ask them where the nearest other home care person is to you. if they are really close pass it up

there's not many people around here doing it so i think it might be ok (for a while at least!) i've got a meeting with the regional co-ordinator guy on tuesday so i'll let everyone know how it goes. and mummy sam, i'll find out info for melbourne for you if i can :)

my sister did work for them, did not really like it, it was commision based, and involved too much work for too little money.

I did homecare for 3 mths end of last year/beg in this one. Wasn't too bad. Depending on the area you're given it can be alot of walking but I dropped a fair bit of weight in the process so it was good. :D You need to drop catcalogues and then collect twice each week so a fair few hours to do, but I always got at least $20/wk. Sometimes would have a great week and get $100+. No outlay which is good, just your time. I have 2 DS so loading them into stroller along with 200+ catalogues was tough and found that the only time which was good to go walking was also the best time for housework, so house was constantly a mess. If you're organised it would be good. Having said all that my youngest DS was only 4mths or so, so would have to bf him, pack up, head out, and get back before next bf. My 2yo DS liked to help (although it slowed me down!) and found he picked up his numbers really quickly and exhausted him for a good sleep in the arvo. :smiliedance:
All I can say is go for it and if you find it too hard then you can stop anyway. Good discount on products and incentives to sell more. No pushy selling which was also good. Feel free to pm me if you have more specifc q's. I'm not in anymore though so can only share my experience)

My family did homecare for a while many years ago. From what I remember there was little money for LOTS of work.

We'd all line up in the garage and pack the items into their bags, it took forever and was a pain in the butt!

I remember a lot of white plastic :D

well I have started and it seems to be ok so far. i do loads of wlaking anyway and time my pick up/drop offs around ozzy's naps so he isn't going too stir crazy in the pram. 100 catalogues fit perfectly in the basket bit :) i'm going to be an area manager so will make a bit more money and hopefully end up with about 10-15 people working for me across the area.
it's nice just to think i'm doing something to help the finances, although as k15s said it does seem to be at the best time to do the housework that you end up doing the work so the house is a mess!
(already :o )
