I have a 15 month old daughter who has trouble, big trouble sleeping through the night. She goes to sleep by herself but wakes at least 2 times a night and won't go back to sleep unless given a milk bottle, even thou she isn't hungry. We have tried letting her cry it out, and tried waiting for time intervals where you leave ehr cry trhen go into the room and settle her without talking etc,but that only makes her worse. It has been a whole 15 months without a full nights sleep. HELP!

Not sure if you interested, but my entire family of mummies swears by the methods in the book "Save Our Sleep" by Tizzy Hall- kind of like controlled crying but based more on babies natural patterns and routines to match them. You have to be very strong at first (I cried a fair bit myself, as did my sisters at first!), and then it magically gets MUCH easier. I am using it too now I am a mum and it is amazing- we now get sleep! You can get copies on ebay if local bookshops have run out (it's pretty popular!). Good luck!

Hi Carleym
Just a quick one.... you're not alone. I have an 18mth old doing exactly the same thing.
Self-settles, has a day sleep, is not overtired and still wakes during the night....what is with that???????grrrrrrrrr.
Combined with his older brother's wakings over the past 18mths we are walking around like zombies!
A friend of mine has also just suggested the save-our-sleep book which i'm going to try. Let us know how you go- best wishes
Bec

My DD did this for ages too. We used to just give her a bottle of milk and she would go straight back to sleep but it was still annoying.
We eventually gave her really gross weak cordial instead of milk and within a week or two she stopped waking up - For a while! Then we were on to the next hurdle - it just keeps on going........

You know what we have been doing, is making sure she is very well hydrated before she goes to bed, and the past few nighta have actually been ok. She slept right thru last night, maybe we're onto something here.
