I have found a pattern for a simple newborn soaker....but I'm not sure if it is going to be waaay too tiny! It says the finished measurements should be....
hip - 36cm
rise - 31cm
waist, stretched - 36cm
Does that sound about right?? When I look at those measurements on my tape measure they seem too small, but I don't know if I 've just forgotten how small newborns are!

not sure.. can you tell me which pattern it is?
I am mid way thru the punk knitters nb soaker and it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too small as I didn't realise that it was meant for 10 ply wool or something.. such a pain!

Nope, lol! I just jotted it down and didn't bookmark the page. I ended up knitting it anyway and as cute as it is it seemed pretty narrow in the crotch, so I pulled it out and am trying something else. Sucha pain when you don't have a baby to try it on yet!

GET OUT!!!! (sorry, just channeling Elaine from Seinfeld)
I love, love, LOVE that pattern, and make it bigger by using bigger needles (I've done up to 4mm and it works great) but haven't been able to work out a way to get it smaller (I'm not good at maths and don't like using too small a needle)
AND I'm on ravelry! this is the best day ever! :flowerz:
I'm going to go and find it now!

Oh no! can you scribe it down in shorthand?
My favourite knitting spot is in the backyard while ds runs around like a lunatic with the dog!
