advice needed re formula taste

Hi

I’m tying to introduce my 3 month old bubs to formula but having problems. I bought the S26 Gold but he seems to hate the flavour. Can anyone recommend which brand they found their bubs took to or which is meant to be similar to breast milk. Any advice/tips much appreciated.

Hi i use karicare a couple of other mums said it is a bit sweeter than s26 hope it helps

i had the exact problem when i switched my DS from boob to bottle at 6 months...

He hated s26...

I tried Heinz Nurture Gold and he loved it, though just a note, I started by giving it to him warm, as this is how they are used to boobie juice...

Now he scoffs it down cold and loves it, and much easier and safer than heating it up!

I really dont think there is that much difference in "flavour" with different formulas.
When I firt started to introduce formula to DD I spent $$$'s on different brands because she refused to drink it.
Soon realised that no matter formula it was she just didnt want it:no:.
Took me several weeks to get her to drink it, even then it was only in a sippy cup:).

Nan HA Gold is said to be closest to breastmilk as it is partially broken down so more easily digested but I don't know if it is closest in taste. I tried my DD on S26 Gold when weaning from the breast and she wouldn't have a bar of it but drank the Nan HA Gold with no problems.

Has your DS had a bottle b4? With EBM? As if he's never had a bottle b4 it could just be that he doesn't like bottles. It took me months to get my DD to take a bottle, no matter what was in it. Then one day at 8 months she took formula (S26 Gold) and she's now weaned to formula during the day but still bf morning and night. She seems to be loving it.

If he hasn't had a bottle b4, maybe try EBM first, so there is something familar in the unfamilar bottle, then once he's okay with that, try formula.

It is very frustrating I know. Hope it works out for you.

My son HATED s26, he gagged it up as soon as he tasted.

I heard that Heinz is good for picky babies, so i tried that and he guzzled it down like breast milk

kaybee- he'll take EBM, but can be really fussy with the bottle, i've been using AVENT but have just bought Tomme Tippee to see if he prefers that.
