Hi all,

I hope you are all well, having a great time here with my parents, it's so nice to see them again. I have been trying to find a list of the foods to avoid whilst breast feeding, but I can't find one. I know someone posted a list or a link to one a couple of months ago and wondered if they still had it.

Would really appreciate it if you could post it again. Thank you so much. I don't have time to sit searching  and Maddison is really suffering so I need to be very careful what I eat.

Hi Jenna,

Just PM me your email address and I will send you a scanned copy of the list I am working off (anyone else who wants it just let me know too) - I completely changed my diet to work with Sam's reflux and thankfully it has been working a treat! It lists all the do's as well as the don't's - much better than just getting what NOT to eat!

Talk soon! :flowerz:

Actually, don't worry about it - I just realised I could upload the scanned list to PhotoBucket. Here's the link:

I just saw the list. Did you have dairy? Did that cause any problems with the reflux?

Fiona,

Thanks for that, I pm'ed you before reading your second post sorry. Ignore it, don't worry about emailing the list to me, thanks.

morganj I have been told to cut out dairy or at least significantly reduce it to help, so I am sure it would help with reflux also.

No mangoes??! I read some research lately on how eating a broad a range of foods when breastfeeding helps prevent fussy eating in older children. Different flavours of milk give them variety. They had women eat bananas and aniseed etc and measured how long it took to flavour the milk, about an hour, I think, and a couple of hours to wear off. They suggested that formula feeders vary their formula too, to stop the babies becoming too accustomed to a bland diet. I don't imagine cows have that varied a diet, though, so it probably isn't the same.

Yeah it's so hard to indulge isn't it! Particularly with a reflux bub!
