well about 4 months ago i brought what i thought was gonna be the last pram i was ever gonna buy, well tonight my brain kicked in and realised -- omg we're gonna need another stinkin pram!, the deal is ds will be about 12 months old when our next baby comes along, we have a 3 wheeler with a toddler seat attachment (got a almost 3 year old dd too) and it has been great for these too now but im thinking ds will want to still lie down when the new baby comes along, thus concluding the toddler seat will be usless! so my question is, what is the best pram for this situation??
thanks

There are two options that i would reccomend. Firstly Graco makes a tandem stroller (front and back) which, although it is long, is slim enough to get through the isles of a checkout. When folded it's actually remarkably small and back seat completely reclines for a newborn. The front seat is suitable for an older baby and has a semi recline position.
I personally would'nt reccommend the side by side three wheelers as they are very large and would pose many problems when shopping.
Other than that i would probably reccomend the childcare or mclaren brand side by side strollers which have various postitions and accomadate a newborn... As they are about as narrow as your going to get for a side by side.
The websites for each company should have a bit more info if needed. Hope i've helped a bit.

I have a Childcare side by side pram for my twins and at first I hated it! It is hard to navigate thru doorways and checkouts. BUT since trying out a couple of others at twins groups and the like, I have found that it is by far the best! Now I just need to work out what to do now that I am pregnant with number 3 while the first two have only just turned 1!

I've got the valco twin runabout pram for my twins. Even though it was a bit more expansive than some other twin prams it is fantastic. I haven't found a doorway yet that I can't get it through, its very easy to push, turn etc to the only problem I have in shops is the kids reaching out and grabbing things. It has four reclining positions and the kids can use it until they're about 4 (assuming they still want to sit in it then). Having seen some other twin prams in my twin group I think this is the best value.

I've been tandem/double pram shopping for ages now (trying to make an informed decision so it's the last pram I every buy ). I tried out the Phil & Teds and thought it was really good, very light weight and compact, but the toddler seats are in a fixed position, some of the parts seem a little flimsy and it's darn expensive. If I can come up with the money and nothing else grabs my fancy then it might be the one we go with.
Then I looked at the BabyLove Tribute Tandem Jogger at ToysRUs. I was quite surprised by how compact this was. It handled well, folded down well, wasn't too heavy (heavier than the Phil & Ted's though). The things I didn't like about it were that the back seat had a fixed foot rest in it so when the bubbas are older the child in the back seat can't hang their feet through, they're stuck with their knees up around their head. Also, the front seat is no higher than a normal toddler seat so they can't lay back and go to sleep when they get a bit taller (my son could just lay back in it with his head supported and he's 75.5cm). Also, it seemed rather easy to tip over.
I stopped a couple in the supermarket the other day and asked them what they thought of the tandem pram they had. They loved it and couldn't praise it enough. It was a BabyLove, they weren't sure which one, but it looked to me like the tandem lite stroller. The front seat was full height so an older bub can recline with head support and sleep. They said it cornered really well and was easy to handle. I asked the woman how she went with getting it in and out of the boot and she said it was no drama at all they had a normal sized sedan and the pram fit in the boot easily and it wasn't too heavy.
So there is my experience so far. I would recommend stopping people on the street or in the shops who have tandems and asking them what they think. Ask what the best and worst points are.

My oldest was 12 months, 10 days when ds2 came along, and we first bought a babylove tandem lite limo...I liked it at first, but it gets very hard to steer with a bigger baby in the front seat (ds1 is a big boy lol). Although the front seat does recline...i find that the baby in the back seat usually just kicks it back up again, as he is left with little legroom. It's nearly impossible to get anything in the basket when the back seat is fully reclined. But it does fold up very compactly, and it fits through the normal checkouts.
A few weeks ago we went out and bought a babylove duolite tandem. It's a side by side one with 3 wheels. So far i cannot praise it high enough! Both the seats can fully recline, and you can still put stuff in the basket. It's dead easy to steer. Obviously it's wider than your average pram, so you need to use the disabled aisles at the checkout...but it fits through every doorway i've come across so far. It is quite big when folded, so you'd have to check that out...But it fits into my sedan, as long as you put it in the right way lol. it's not too expensive either (around $350 if you get it on special).

This is the pram I am going to purchase. I love the MB's (have an Urban myself), but the double just looks too wide to manouvre around shopping centres. I have enough problems in some stores now.

With you older DD I think the valco runabout twin is the best option as it can take a toddler seat too.. DSS 4.5 fits in the toddler seat no problem and hes certainly not small for his age.. this is what we use ...we will have a similar age gap between our youngest. and DS will be 'upgraded' to the toddler seat when our new DD arrives so we have the two babies in the back, DS in the toddler seat and DSS walking.
Its very easy to push, folds up quite compactly for a twin... etc etc I love it :D

alright oscar's mum, where did you get yours from and what did it cost??
lol It was just under $600 with the doubles attachment. Babies Galore sell them but at the time they didn't have a red one so I rung around a few places till I found one!:p
E-bay has a few at the moment too and they tend to go alot cheaper and you usually get a few things added extra like the sheepskin or UV cover etc! I will try and find a link to them and give it to you later today!;)

I looked at the site and it dosn't seem much cheaper  what is their postage too? I couldn't find that?
I just checked the Babies Galore website and the pram isn't on sale at the moment but you can get the double for $640. Where that site you can get the double for $630.
So you probably better off waiting for a sale at Babies Galore or another baby store. ;)

They say free postage for metro areas. I'll take a look at Babies Galore also. I'm defintely going to get the Phil and Teds. It just looks so practical.
