:p Hi all,
3 weeks ago our lovely little girl Ashley was born and allready the time has flown. It strange to think that this little girl we know so well and love so much has only been with us for 3 weeks. Her birth was entirely different to her sisters (labour ward, uneccessary medical entervention , 6 day hospital stay ) This time around we were at the birth centre and able to develop a trust in our midwife, I wish this could be a possibiity for everyone. So the story goes................ at about 5 o'clock
I went for a walk hopeing to get labour started (5 days overdue) at 7 o'clock iregular
contractions started and continued til 10 when they became regular . At 11 we rang our midwife and she said we should come in soon and by 12midnight we reached the birth centre. My contactions became iregular again and I still had my doubts that I was really in labour so our midwife deciced to check, probably so I'd stop asking "is this really labour?" . Hurrah! I was 5cm! so I jumped in the shower
and turned it as hot as it would go, lovely. Then I got in the bath, it was so nice to feel so weightless. TRANSITION  started around 4am and wonderful partner and midwife kept me going, told me "yes you can do this" that went on for two hours! problem was the contractions still wern't regular and the one's close togeter weren't
to bad but when there had been a big gap when it hit it felt like I was dying :( . eventually I got out of the bath and ended up on my side on the floor with the gas  (we'd planed a water birth). At 6:37am on the 21st of may Ashley
was born healthy and fairly calm, our beautiful little chubby bub with huge cheeks and a thick mop of hair, 3.95kgs (8lb 11oz) . DD1 (lilly 7) came into the room sraight after and was so excited she threw up! We rested for a couple of hrs
and then went home and have since been savouring every moment. :)
