In relation to the two Tasmanian miners found...

Its great that they have found them and all and im really happy for the friends and family etc... BUT..yes there is a but hehehe....I just dont understand why the everyone is celebrating so much. I mean being thankful and everything that they are found and have food, water, blankets etc is really great, but IMO i dont think that they should be partying and carrying on because getting them out is definately going to be a very very dangerous operation. Anything could happen. Yes they are alive and well, but they are not safe!

If it was my Dad or partner i would be thankful that they are alive and everything and be hopeful but i wouldnt be partying on because anything could happen!
I mean, there are like a kilometre underground and the people getting them out would obviously be very experienced and know what they are doing, but how would they feel if there was a cave in and they did die? All that partying and then they just get their hopes shattered.

Dont take this the wrong way i would be damn happy if it was my family, but just wouldnt be partying when i would be worried as hell about them!!

Does anyone see where im coming from?

Jacinta - Yes, I certainly understand where you are coming from. But you have to understand that there has been a lot of praying going on re the recovery of the two miners; the fact that they have been located at all is miraculous in itself!

Your right - they're not safe yet; in fact they're possibly in even more danger now than they have been the last few days as the recovery team proceed to move earth in order to free them.

Through all this, hope remains; and it is this hope that the families and communities are clinging to. I think its good for Australia to rally around them and offer support and optimism about the safe recovery of their beloved friends and family members.

Definatly see where you are coming from.

I think they are just caught up in the moment of utter miracle excitement.

I too am worried until they bring them up to the surface and they are in the general ward of the hospital.

I can see where you are coming from too. The thought taht something could still go horribly wrong goes through my mind everytime i see a report on the news. It also reminds me of those miners in America whose families were told they were alive only to find out that was a miscommunication............I know, that is very different, but I still can't help thinking about it and that was the fist thing taht went through my mind when I saw the initial news flash.

All that aside, :fingerscrossed: for their safe recovery!

Yeah, i just heard that too. How terrible. He was still young.

His poor family, he was sent away for work & wont be coming home. Looks like the mine claimed another life, only indirectly.

Prayers & thoughts to Richards family

I can see where you are coming from but another point to consider is that perhaps they are just so jubilant because 2 have been found alive when the other was not so lucky. My thoughts and prayers go out to that miners family :hugs:

lot of mixed feelings going on down there that's for sure.

yes I heard about Richard as well - I made a thread before coming into this one - thought there might be more news about the miners in this thread.

thoughts and prayers to Richard's family as well :hugs: - very tragic time for all concerned in Tassie.
