Kiralee sorry to hear you had such a bad day. Hope things get better for you soon :hugs: Try not to feel guilty about Aysha, its not your fault your having trouble with your gallstones. As for contraception im too much of a chicken to get the IUD or the thingy in the arm. So im on the mini-pill at the moment. Just hard remembering it even with my alarm set.

Congrats on Ariana being 10 weeks old and Charlie being 8 weeks!! Its all going so fast!!

As far as ironing goes i remember DH trying to get me to iron his uniform when we were engaged and i told him not as chance. Apparently if its not ironed properly he can get into trouble for it so i wasnt going to be responsible for that!

And tattoo's well i'd love to but first i'd have to find a spot that doesnt have stretch marks! :o And im also a chicken so i dont think i could handle the pain.

Jenna now you've done so much work try and enjoy having your visitors. Im tired just thinking about all that ironing and cleaning you did hehe.

Lachlan went to sleep at about 8pm and now im regretting not going to bed earlier. I was sure he'd be up by now...and im also about to burst! Poor little guy will be squirted when he does eventually wake up.

I also read on the ABA forums that camomile tea is good while breastfeeding as it has a calming effect. Quite a few of the mums have it before the last feed and it helps bub sleep apparently. Does anyone else drink it?

I send my ironing out, and it comes back pressed and on coat hangers! lovely!

I am hanging to get another tattoo aswell! I am thinking of getting:

scarlett.....jasper....rafferty

on the curve of my ribcage,...in a sort of henna colour,..

the only thing is that the studio I have been to before dont tattoo whilst you are breastfeeding,.. has anyone else come across this??

Hey,..I finally sent off for the baby bonus yesterday:o,...how long does it take to process??

Poor Gabby just got sent to school 45minutes late :crying: I didnt even realise until she had walked through the school yard and I was back home (we live 3 doors away).

I didnt have my glasses on and apparently my 5minute nap i had while Gab was eating breakfast was actually an hour

And to top it all off DH came home from work because we didnt answer the home phone and someone was waiting outside to check out our shower. So DH is now angry at me as well so when i was crying because i feel like a bad mum he says to me "just think how Gabby feels". :hair: Why else does he think im so upset?!?!

Not a good start to the day at all.

Hi guys, gotta make this short n sweet. So sorry for not coming in these past few weeks, Charlotte has me going 24/7 and with a 16 month old tot and 2 others my time is pretty limited these days.
C is now 7 weeks, she wakes on the hour 24 hrs a day to feed, so draining and I just dunno wot to do. Although last night we had a miracle lol, she slept from 10pm - 3am

We won't hold our breath tho lol

You guys are all chicken...you've been through child birth, a tattoo is nothing! I have a small one on my back and it hardly hurt and only took about 1/2 hour to do. I like the idea of having your baby's name tattooed, maybe I can talk DH into it too! And the implant hardly hurts either, they give you a local...it's fine, I had mine put in on Tuesday and I've just got a big bandaid and a little bruise! CHICKENS!

Had a good week with Mum, we're about to head to the health nurse to have Bridie weighed...I can't weight, hopefully she'll have hit 4kgs! (She was 3.5 last time!). She was eight weeks old on Monday...time has flown!

I had my appointment at the PND support place yesterday, it was good, they're really helpful. I'm feeling so much better now though and I can see how people have more than one child...I really couldn't understand it before! Bridie is so good though...I got about 10 hours sleep (in small blocks) last night, feeling good!

Anyway, better go put the pram in the car and get ready to go, have a great day!

I totally agree Melmc! I would rather get my whole body tattooed than go thru labour again! lol...I prolly will anyway(get my whole body tattooed). I got the implant yesterday and it doesnt hurt at all, besides the bruise.

SJR - Thats a wicked idea for your tat, love it.

Hi All,

I had been looking in the due in july thread an this thread for a while but hadn't posted yet.
My bub is 8 weeks old and had his needles today, he seems a bit upset- unsettled when isn't usually so I think he is going to have a bad night.

oopsdaisy- my ds was feeding every hr till about 12 -1 utill about 7 weeks too but has started feeding two hourly occasionally 3 hrs. He will sleep 3 or 4 hours through a feed but if awake wants to feed.

I am going to give him another week or so with the 2hrly then maybe introduce the dummy.

wow that was a long first post

Charlotte enjoys the dummy at times although she isn't dependant on it, it doesn't really soothe her to sleep like the boobs do!

 I've been MIA...it's Great Down Under Nappy Hunt time at the moment...

Ahhh you've got me thinking...I have our 6 week checkup booked and I'm in 2 minds what to do about contraception...
part of me wants to have the implanon put back in, but then I remember why I had it out in the first place...
I could take the mini-pill but needs to be taken same time every day & not sure I can count on being awake at the same time every day...(can't take the regular pill)
I told my other half he'll just have to go without...he seemed a bit upset by that idea...
Does anyone know anything about IUD's? I had one previously but was put in at the time of a D & C...normally, do they put them in just 'whenever'?

Riley has done 3 x 12 hour night sleeps in just over a week, and the last 2 were just recently being Monday and Wednesday night. Seems like a bit of trend happening here. Crossing fingers. Even if he gave me 7-10 hours, I wouldn't be complaining, but 12 is fantastic!

He doesn't sleep much thru the day though, only in the baby carrier on me. But today he made a liar out of me and had a good snooze in his bouncy. Must have been the weather for it though, been rather wet here today.

So sorry to hear you are still having issues with C kristy, but yay for the 5 hr sleep :fingerscrossed: she keeps it up for you...Those pics are so cute she is growing so fast...

Aspen is now 9 weeks old, gee it has flown, she is still sleeping really well 8-10hrs at night, and has stopped the hrly cluster feeds in the afternoon, they are now 2 hrly which is great, she has also started napping properly during the day also that is great too, as I get to spend time with DD1:D Aspen has to have her needles on Mon so not looking forward to that, its in the morning so hopefully wont disrupt her night.

Anyways have a great weekend girls

Hi everyone.
Well yesterday my psychologist has said that i actually have PND. :( I feel a bit better knowing that theres a reason for why i feel so down and not myself. It was very draining yesterday opening up all my feelings and life dramas.

Ariana is soo irritable today, shes definetly not herself. :no:She keeps crying and wants to be held all the time. Its very unusual for her. I dont know whether to worry about it or not cause she was like this last week when she had concussion.

Ill try and catch up with you all later after i do some study. :hugs:

:hugs:Naomi - glad you're getting help. I'm suffering too, or I was, I've had help from my gp, counsellors and my MCHN, and some medication...I'm feeling 1000% on before.

Hope things pick up for you soon xxx

Bridie had her immunisations this morning, she's a bit grumpy and sleepy but otherwise ok, so heartbreaking!

Sorry, have been slack again, but I will be bettre, I promis, as the August thread has moved here too, so I will have all he catching up to do in one spot.

How are you all lovely ladies???

Sorry to hear Jaydens mum that you ended up with PND- hope oyu'll feel better soon.... you can always chat to us.

And :hugs: for fellow gall stone suffrer- I had them with DD1- and it hurts like hell- was in hospital for 1 week.

Went to GP for my 6wk check up. All seems well, he gave me prescription for panadeine forte for the pain in my body- isn't sure what it is, so he send me for some blood tests, and I will go back to see him on tues. He also checked Bianca's eye and rash. He also wants to see her again on tuesday, to do a proper 6 wk check up- I didn't know they do one on bubs, as she sees the nurse regularly- he told me to massage the eye and see what happens, and that the rash is probably hormonal-or it could be a bit of exzema, as it has dry patches too.

So that was my busy morning, as Bianca got very upset with the doc checking her eye, than his computer was playing up- so we spend 1 hour in his room:(.

So I had to go to shops to get my meds.....and decided that Binaca needs a good rest in the pram, so I stayed in the shopping centre for the day- and spend way too much:p fo my budget.......

Than I went to get my eyebrows waxed, and as soon as I got there Bianca got really unsettled- so we solved it- I lied down on the bench, boob out, Bianca attached feeding, while my friend did the eyebrows......that's a first for me:laughing:.

Anyways- so after this humangous effort- I was so exhausted last nigh, but will have to do house work today, as we have in-laws comming for dinner- so I have to tidy the house, and get few things for nibbles- lucky Dh is cooking the dinner- he loves doing it- he loves the compliments- so if anyone is comming over- he always cooks to look good!!!!:chef:

Anyway- better go and have a shower, so I can start on the housework- was just waiting for the panadeine fort to work, so I can actually do stuff relatively pain free.

 Ellie, that's awesome :D Things we do to get things done!

How is everyone this morning? Ive just put Deek back to bed for his morning nap. He's 11 weeks old today. He's such a little boy now, spitting image of Wyatt too. Everyone in the street comments on how alike they are. Two totally different personalities though. Wyatt's the Free Spirit, Deek is the "Go with the Flow" kid :D

I had a shocking migraine over the last two days, it finally let up about 4pm yesterday, DH bless him, finished work at lunchtime and took the kids to Nanna's for the afternoon.

I coloured my hair yesterday a nice choccie brown colour, it's all one colour again. Since I completely chopped it back at the start of the year, it grew back a funny colour  Didn't know whether it wanted to be blonde or brown  It's grown so much too, almost to my shoulders again! So much healthier since doing it.

I got my eyebrows waxed today at a new salon, NEVER going back there, OUCH! She ripped so hard  She had the personality of doggy do!

What has everyone got planned tomorrow, Wy and I are making DH brekky in bed (bacon and eggs YUMMO!) It'll be his first father's day as a dad with two boys.

I have to share my excitement too! Im back to my pre-preggy weight!! Im so stoked! 55 kgs again!!!

Happy Father's Day to all the June/July/August Dad's and especially to all the first timers, have a great day!

shereejoy and poppet, what is your secret for those long sleeps at night?

jaydensmum and melmc, sorry to hear about your PND, but on the plus side, at least you know what was wrong and can manage it now

ellie13, sounds like you had an interesting time at the shopping centre! Good luck for your results on Tuesday

W&DsMama congratulations on regaining your prepreg weight..I'm loathe to check the scales as I don't see there would have been much change since last time I weighed myself, bring on my 6 week checkup, I say...so I can start doing something about it.
Sorry to hear about your migrane, good to hear its gone now, and that your DH helped you out.

Kiralee - I can't wait to see pictures of your tattoos, you and SJR have me thinking about getting another one...maybe Bridie's name in Chinese or something...I was thinking on my foot (I do think that would hurt! And I was calling everyone else a chicken!).

I'd love an alternative to Chinese if anyone has any suggestions, as we're not remotely of Chinese origin...it doesn't quite have the meaning I would want it to have.

We've had a great Father's Day, we've done big fat nought! Very relaxing. DH worked nightshift last night and is heading off again shortly, then he doesn't have to work til Friday. I had an anxiety attack just before he left last night, Bridie was really unsettled and had been for about 4 hours. Anyway, I managed to calm down and Bridie slept for 5 hour periods all night and just woke up at about 8:30am before her daddy got home. I got almost 11 hours sleep (in 4-5 hour blocks!).

We had Bridie weighed on Thursday...not sure if I added these details but she's put on another 400grams, she now weighs just under 4kgs...and she's 2 months old today!

Happy Father's Day to all the daddies! :hugs:

Oh no hun! Have you got insurance on it??

Hope every one had a Happy Father Day yesterday.

Get this.... we had lunch at the inlaws yesterday and Deacon was sitting on MIL's lap watching Wyatt tuck into the huge plate of fruit we had on the table. MIL says "Oh look, Deeky wants some too" Grabs his dummy, rubs it on a STRAWBERRY and shoves it in his mouth

JUST BECAUSE HE IS WATCHING YOU EAT, DOES NOT MEAN HE'S READY FOR SOLIDS!! He's not even 12 weeks old yet AND strawberry is the LAST thing I would give him, they are a high allergy risk for kids under 12 months old!

Deacon watches anything Wyatt does, it's called "Brotherly Love" not "Wanting to start solids" look

Morning all,

How was your weekend? I am just really enjoying spending time with mum and dad, we could have sat doing absolutely nothing and I would be happy!!

We have a new camera also so I am able to take lovely clear photographs of Maddison, they are coming out really clearly. I wish now that we had it before she was born as most of ours haven't come out very clearly. Oh well, at least I can capture the upcoming months/years well.

Kiralee sorry to hear about your laptop, is it insured? It may come under your home and contents insurance if you have that. Keeping my :fingerscrossed: that you have.

Beth that is so annoying, asking you first would have been preferable wouldn't it? At least then you would have had the chance to say no and explain why if she asked. Not that you should have to explain yourself by any means, I find I end up doing that though.

We had a lovely father's day thanks, Steve's first and he had a great time. It isn't father's day in England but said being as my dad was here he can be wished happy father's day also. :D

Sarah how are you feeling? It has been so long since we have heard from you so I hope you are happier and feeling like you are coping better now.

Sorry for the lack of personals, I am just about to head into the shower and go out with mum and dad. I will try to pop in regularly but sorry if I miss people.

Mel sorry to hear you had an anxiety attack recently, I hope you are feeling better today. You are doing so well and I hope that didn't make you feel that you couldn't cope. Take care of yourself and congratulations on Bridie's weight gain.

Speak to you all later.

Amira, I'm sorry you ad rotten day, and I agree your hubby could have been much more understanding, that would have been just as crushing as doing it on the first place.

SJR, I agree ribs sound ouchy!

Kiralee, shift work can be so hard on families hey? Bugger about the laptop, was it an accident?

Happy 2 months Bridie! (Gosh i just LOVE that name Mel)

Beth - OMG! I would have whacked her I think! How damn stupid!

Hi Jenna!! I was so excited for you on thurs when I knew your parents were coming! Hope you have a ball

We have had a good couple of days here, longest sleep at night is 4 hours... I could do with Riley's 12 I can tell ya! Getting the Losec into Millie can be a real drama, but she is so much better when we do, just got to dodge the projectile vomits if you give it too fast.

I got the first photo of both the kids smiling together and I lost the memory card on the way to the shops... I'm just devastated, hubby wasn't please either cause its an expensive card (for my pro camera not my regular didg)

Mill is summonning me, more soon

Hope everyone had a great Fathers day !!!!

Aysha's Mum- hope you have forgiven your Dh by now-lol- do you have insurance???

Badgers mum- I will have to look at playschool than-lol- I can't remember which one he is- DD has grown out if palyschool now- and Bianca is not into it yet. Hmmmm- might have to check it out.

Lahri-congrats on the new camera.

W&Dsmum- don't you love in-laws-grrrrr.

Us- well we had a nice fathers day. Dinner on sat went well, and we went to dinner with Dh's family again yesterday- cause Dh's niece is moving to Qld today, so it was farewell dinner. It was nice, I wasn't meant to go as it was meant to be at 7pm, and DD had to go to bed, cause it's school today- but than they rang that they moved it to 5pm, so we could go- which was nice.

Sad news- my friend did pass away on Saturday from breast cancer-so there will be a funeral on Saturday, very sad this is.

Otherwise, all is good. Bianca has her settled and unsettled times, sleeping pretty good. She does wake up every 3 hours or so for feed at night, but I just give her BB and she feeds and goes straight back to sleep, so that is good.

Anyways- I am trying to use wet chucks cloths atm for cleaning her bottom, as I was going through the nappie wipes like carzy-$$$$$- as she poos soooo much- so far I actually find them better for cleaning her bottom, than the wipes u buy- they seem to clean the bottom better, with less of them- hope it stays that way.

Ok I am stopping to make sence:rolleyes:..... u can tell I am tired, for some reason, eventhough I did have a good night sleep. DD came into bed with me and Bianca- and I fell asleep, and forgot, and when I woke up, I got a bit of a scare- who is this next to me- it took me a minute to realise it was DD.

Might try and catch up in here a bit later.

U all girls have a great day.:flowerz:

It has warranty but im not sure if it covers the screen being broken by some w@nker who thinks its ok to break my things he broke my phone last time and it had to get sent away. I can still use it just the screens broken. I'm making him pay for it either way he broke it so he should get it fixed.

omg i would have been so mad as well mils

Nope no accident he punched it.... probably didn't intend it to break but still not the point. He shouldn't be taking it out on me or my things

Hey all

Sorry for missing in action for the last week just gets so hectic round here. We are all great, went out and hung out with the other lady who shared with me in hospital who also had a c section and also had a little boy, it was her second and we had exchanged details and had been texting over the last few weeks but finally caught up so that was lovely, and both our boys also share the same birthday, so is really nice, and we have shared that whole experience, not many people get to do that so hopefully we will stay good friends and get to see the boys grow together.
Then friday had our mothers group at my house and in the afternoon our plasma had to get picked up because it died last monday!!! How annoying not even a year old, bought it for our anniversary last year and because it has to go back to the manufacturers which is in Victoria we probably wont have it for our anniversary this year!!! Silly...oh well
Saturday I was helping mil pack as she left for Europe yesterday so that day was a write off...and ended up being exhausted as Chrace had me up at 330 and when I crawled back into bed at 445 dh stirred and we ended up chatting and then just got back up at 530 as we were both wide awake and I didnt end up going back to bed til 1030 pm so 19hours straight..needless to say my eyes were falling out of my head!!!
Sunday was brekkie at friends and then helping mil in the afternoon and then mil and brother in law and his wife and their daughter all round for dinner, lovely day even if it was really busy, and yesterday drove mil round in the morning to get all her errands done then to the airport, and then I spent the afternoon in and out of the doctors (as I had had a god awful rash since sunday morning and turns out I have an allergic reaction to something, probably the cod liver oil capsules my doctor told me to take even though I am allergic to fish...severly!!!) and trying to clean up our trashed house (from having everyone for dinner and from being neglected over the weekend) So FINALLY today we are having a day at home, all threes kiddies are home but are all being great so far, not planning on doing much probably just the rest of the washing and then fold everything piled up and the ironing. Am so totally itchy I hope this medication the doc has given me starts working soon!!! driving me nuts

Jenna was thinking about you all day thursday hope that it is just divine having them here and that you enjoy yourself immensely. Is Maddison giving them lots of smiles??

SJR I think that sounds wicked where you want the tatt, probably going to hurt but all tatts do a little, just anywhere where a bone is close to the skins surface hurts more, I have mine along my spine but you just dont think about it, it is not going to hurt for that long. Oh and I had mine the day before Tahliah turned 1 and I was still breastfeeding and my tattoo guy said it was ok.

Mel what is your familys cultural background? You cant have your kiddies names done with that in mind? I have my daughters name done in japanese but that is only because I have studied it for many years and have lived there and love the culture and the look of the characters in the language. My girfriend is a Christian and she is getting her sons name tattooed in Hebrew. Yay on Bridies weight gain by the way, and sorry to hear about getting really anxious but sounds like you are getting better and better at handling it all the time...well done hon

Beth so glad that they were able to find your memory card for you !!! Will have to pay more attention to Reece in future...but I am spoilt as James has big biceps and has a pretty hot bod being a pt, then again i get to check him out anytime I want...hehehehe Hope Miss Mill is good today!

Ellie nice to know that dh cooks for you in those occasions even if he doesnt necessarily do it for all the right reasons...hehehehe Very sorry to hear about your friend. My Aunty is fighting it at the moment, if this bout of chemo doesnt work then the next step is a mastectomy...not nice, my thoughts are with you

Beth so sorry to hear about your crazy mil with the food thing.....oh my god I would have been furious!!! Did you say anything to her? Very difficult situation though isnt it! We find it hard with family and drinks say like beer, my step dad thinks it is funny when the littlies will be looking at his drink and he will say you want some matie and dip his finger it and shove it in their mouth!!!WTF? For one James doesnt drink and we certainly dont want any of our kids drinking yet being only 4.5, 1.5 and 8 weeks and secondly I dont know where his fingers have been!!! Silly silly people I am with you hon

Nicki I am so sorry to hear of your hubbys reaction! Sometimes they just dont think! Try to let it slide off of your back...just not a good morning all round hey! Hugs

Naomi, glad that you got a diagnosis. If you ever need to chat we are all hear for you.

Kirralee that sucks big time...I dont understand why some guys have to hit things in frustration, I must be very lucky to have a cool headed hubby. Lets hope that it is nothing too major and gets fixed quite easily. Big hugs. Sorry to hear about all the pain you have been in aswell, no good at all, hope that something happens so you can have your op sooner...more hugs!

Ok well sorry for the big email, trying to catch up and vent a little I spose. Hope that you are all well and sorry for anyone that I have missed and thinking about those of you who havent been on in a while Kara, Sarah, Jane etc....hugs

Just finished staining and oiling my outdoor furniture too so I am pretty chuffed just got to wait two days now til we can use it all...bring on summer!! (ok so yeah maybe I get a little more done than the average person hehehehe dont know how though) Alrightie off for our picnic outside whilst Chrace is asleep

OMG how infuriating! My boys both had intollerances to strawberries. Broke out in a rash from even a little bit. Nothing serious, but still! Joel won't be getting anything strawberry for a long time!

Sad news- my friend did pass away on Saturday from breast cancer-so there will be a funeral on Saturday, very sad this is.

:hugs: Sorry to hear about your friend.

How's everyone's bubs handling immunisations?
Joel slept for a day after his, just waking for feeds, but no worries. No temps or anything. He did great! We see the Health nurse tomorrow. I am sure he has packed on the weight... growing far too fast for my liking!

Yup that's him! see what i mean, I reckon he's a bad boy underneath all those nursery rhymes, that or gay ha ha! I have tried my darndest to get outside and get some gardening done today, the neighbors are starting to gather and point at the disaster that used to be our garden . Got about 1/8th done. I need to oil my furniture too, I've just noticed my beautiful veranda chair has moulded with the weks of rain we've had.... not sure how to get it off. Will have to ask DH's expertise. We have plans to mow, prune, plant and mulch on saturday I can't wait!

Anyway- got the phone call today that I really hope and pray none of you girls here ever get- u know how they do the screening blood test when bub is born, and if you don't hear from them all is good??? Well we heard from them today-:hissy::crying:, and Bianca has to go for tests tomorrow to see if she has Cystic Fybrosis(sp?)....as the screening test came back positive for this.....we will know on thursday the result:gloomy: I really, really pray that it will come back as nothing, and I mean really- thursday can't come fast enough ATM, so sorry, but I will leave it there, have to get packed, as we have the appt in the morning, so I better get organised.

I hear you on the kiddies growing far too fast for your liking Jane I am the same way.

Sounds great for the gardening etc on Saturday Beth, I am hoping that I will get a bit done myself actually. Want to borrow mils ladder and tighten our shade sails, prune some trees, clean out the gutters and scrub the fascia of the house...oh dear so much to do so little time, off to do the ironing I never got round to doing yesterday...then off to try and make something for dinner that hubby will actually like, gotten so fussy lately, it is either that there is too many carbs in it or last night it was "a peasants meal"....grrr it was frigging curried sausages...cant win! Still not speaking to him because of it, might sound totally silly but I work my butt off at home and just to think of something different to make every night is a challenge in itself let alone making it with 3 little ones hanging off of you....ok sorry for the rant just really annoyed at the whole thing...anyone who has yummy easy to make recipes I would love a couple of them thanks

Ellie that is no good at all. Dont know what to say big hugs to you and all the best for Thursday! Will be thinking of you! Take care

arrgghhh! Max is doing my head in...

he sleeps well at night (5 - 8hr blocks) but day naps are a nightmare...he is over tired, falls alseep then crys everytime I put him in bed...he just wants me to hold him all the time at the moment, which means I am getting nothing done!...and on top of that he has one clicky hips so we are off to the specialist in the morning! I have been up since 3.30am with him and had about 1.5hrs sleep since 12.30am (as my toddler was up too)...this is the second bad night in a row (yesterday was from 2am) and I am exhausted...if I can just get him to settle I can get a nap in!...ok, complaining done...:o

Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all well.

Kangaskipy - Jessica went through that stage at 6 weeks as well. She did not settle of a night sometimes until 1am then other times she would wake up at 3am and not go back to sleep. It lasted about 1 week and i had my eyeballs hanging out of my head. I had to move her into her bedroom so i could get some sleep, and i also tried very hard to get her into a bedtime routine, which has worked ever since.

Alisonp - just sent you a reply message, sorry i have not logged on for such a long time!!!

Just have a question for mums who know more than me... At what age do you start to put your bubs in high chairs?? (just working on Xmas pressie ideas for Jessica!!)

Thanks

Hi ladies

Ellie13 so sorry to hear about your test results :fingerscrossed: that it comes back that she just carries the gene, and does not have CF. :hugs: to you and will be thinking of you tomorrow.

tismum2b re highchairs, depends when you start solids, I started using mine when DD1 was about 5 months old, not to eat just to have her at our height while we ate, and to get her used to the chair.

HRJ with Immunisations Aspen was exactly the same slept the whole next day, was grizzly on the day of immunisations and vomited 1/2hr after we had them, but doc said she held it down long enough to work, but no temp or anything just tired.

We are plodding along nicely here, allthough the whole household has a cold so thats a bit of a bummer, but think we are on the upside now...we have a nice routine now, so thats great to have some structure to our day, but still don't have enough time to get everything done around the house argh its a battle, oh well it'll get done eventually, just hard while we are doing reno's as well, so i always feel the house is never in order:rolleyes:

i put will in his from 4 months as we started solids then.

I have my dentist appt tomorrow.:( i am not looking forward to it. I am only having an assessment, but it still erks me.
I am meeting my mum in town and she is taking the boys while i go. We are then going shopping for my outfit for my brothers wedding. It is in 11 days and i have a dress but want to wear a top and pants. Also we have will TT atm. He is doing so well, and i got my itti bittis (cloth nappies) yesterday so Charlie will be in those so we wont have to spend as much on sposies any more :smiliedance:.
Also i wanted to celebrate that i have been BFing for 9 weeks now!!! i cant believe i made it this far 3 times longer than i did with william.

I do get into trouble from DF sometimes that i am not getting much done around the house (i dont seem to be a very good Housewife - maybe thats why we arnt married yet!!!)

Ellie13 - sorry to hear of the test results, here's hoping that it all comes back fine.

Snapcracklepop - good luck at the dentist and congrats with the B/F well done. I seem to be going ok with it, but always seem to have more milk from one side and not much in the other (bit lopsided!!) Thanks for your reply about the highchair too.

Yay Libby, well done. I too am feel pretty stoked with our breastfeeding attempt! I got to 8 weeks with Lachlan when he finally refused my breast after fighting soooo much over it, expressed till 13 weeks and then tried to put him back on and he wouldn't have a bar of it. So I am pretty proud to have got to 11 weeks with only a few dramas but nothing that tells me we are stopping anytime soon........ Yay.......

Lib, congratulations on getting to 9 weeks. Awesome work hun!

Sorry I haven't been around for the last few days, DH has been working 14-15 hour days this week and is working all weekend too. Money is great, but Im in total awe of single parents, ho they do it. The kids have been fantastic, its just I dont have enough arms LOL!

DH got his results back from the snip that he had 7 weeks ago, IT DIDN'T WORK!! Im so freaking out now :o He has to go back in a month and give more "samples" and then they work out what to do next. He's not coming near me until I have it in writing that it's safe

He also has a growth on the inside of his throat and has to see a specialist, it's an overgrowth of scar tissue from coughing too much from these flus going around. Man I hope it'll be OK.

Im so sorry for the lack of personals girls. I will try and catch up on the goss in the next day or two.

Also, I pulled My DS out of preschool today, ongoing probs with bullies but hows this... when I picked him up today I asked if he'd had a good day and teacher said "no sleep, he was mucking around at rest time until I said I'd take ruggie off him" WHAT THE FRIG?? Ruggie is my son's security blanket, the only thing that settles him to sleep and his comfort when I am not there... how dare she threaten to take that off him! I was furious!! He might be 3 but he's still little, I have no problem with him having a ruggie (although he sucks on it in his sleep it can get a little soggy, they get washed in dettol all everyday). So pi$$ed. If she can't get kids to settledown without threatening them she needs to go back to school.

I reackon the more I feed Riley thru the day, the longer he sleeps at nite. So I feed anywhere from 2-4 hours. So my rule is generally 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, then when he wakes once thru the night. But I think he might be having a growth spurt cause last couple of days has been more regular then what I mentioned above too, and I have been going with it, cause he won't sleep thru the day and he is finally having a nap thru the day in last couple of days. So frustrating when they only go to sleep in ur arms and only after nursing and still won't sleep for long either. Tomorrow is another day, but gee I hope he continues to have a couple of hours atleast thru the day!

Gosh that is ordinary about that kindy teacher, I would be mad too!.

I hear you and I am not sure what the answer is. It is frustrating, but I guess we would be even more annoyed if they weren't sleeping at night! It is even a struggle to get our cherub down at night too. Can take 1-3 hours to get him to sleep, but once down he is down for the count! I responded to badgersmum re: what we are doing atm ie: last couple of days and seems to be working TOUCH WOOD!

Ellie, my thoughts are with you.

Kiralee, love the tatts, brave girl, why do you have to wait to have your gallbladder removed, are you going publicly, I hope you can start to manage to pain if you have to wait that long, really try to watch you fat intake, I go to a point I would not eat anything that had much fat in it, gave up chocolate, ice cream fast food, basically had a really boring diet but worth it not to be in pain.

As for me I had to come and tell you all that I have survived. Tonight was the first night my hubby has done afternoon shift and I have had to do all three kids at bed time and I have survived. I was dreading it as it is their (boys) daycare day and usually pretty tired, there was a few little fights but all in all it went smoothly, probably had Zoe in bed a little earlier then normal but I had to do what was best for me. I hope tomorrow night goes as well.

Congrats to all the girls bfeeding still.

W&D mumma - Bugger about you hubbies failed snip, I am glad I got my tubes tied and am now back on the pill the regulate my cycle so I have extra protection. Don't let him near you if you don't want any surprises.

Sorry to anyone I have missed, I have such a bad memory these days.

Thanks for that Lib, will check it out when I have a sec. Good luck with the dentist today, thinking of you I hate the dentist, but sometimes it is the lesser of two evils I guess.

Ellie I will also be thinking of you today too with fingers and arms and legs crossed for you! Big hugs.

Beth I reckon the feeding that Miss Mill is going through is just a growth spurt. They tend to do that, it wont last. That is total c$%p about your little mans teacher I totally agree!!! At Tahlis kindy if they dont have a sleep it doesnt matter as long as they have quiet time. But what was taking his blankie away going to do??? Only upset him more....stupid woman.

Tracey yeah Chrace does have a sleep through the day, he has one big one for about 4 sometimes 5 hours, but he has a huge feed beforehand and once he is awake in the afternoon he is up til he goes to bed, so I am able to get a bit done whilst Landon sleeps aswell, he is only for about and hour maybe two if I am lucky, but I am fortunate to have great kiddies that are happy to entertain themselves if I am busy doing something else which is great should I be making dinner...well they are good most of the time. I am pretty hard on myself though with the standard at home and I hate it being messy or unclean so it is me who cares, James doesnt even notice half the time as he just thinks it always looks the same. Hope your partner lightens up a little I would hate it if James was on at me for how little i had gotten done throughout the day, it is the opposite here actually hes on at me to not do so much, because they really dont know what we go through during the day with the kiddies. Big hugs to you hon

Juzzy well done on handling the kiddies all on your own with hubby doing afternoon shift. Glad that it all went along reasonably smoothly.

Kirralee nice tatts hon. Just makes me want to go and get my next one now...patience patience

Hey Beth I am hearing you on how single parents do it! On the long days that James has work and then pting I feel like a bit of a single parent because he is gone so early and then home once all the kiddies and sometimes myself are in bed, big days huh! Well at least the money is good. That sucks about your hubbys snip, that would totally freak me out as James is getting one after our last which will be this next one if we are lucky enough to have one more, but I wouldnt want more than 4 otherwise I would have to have another to even it out (I dont like odd numbers...weird I know) Good luck for his neck aswell, hope it is nothing too serious

Alrighite well Tahli is off to kindy today and I am taking the boys out for our mothers group...so should be a nice day out, although I am supposed to be eating healthily now and working out but mothers day wont be doing me any favours in the healthy food dept, oh well will just have to work out harder once I get home...have a great day all

ok,..sorry to be a downer guys,..but...I have mastitis again,.:(

sigh

feeding Rafferty up to every hour during the day,...and he will only sleep in the sling in the day,....sigh,.. sleeps well in his hammock at night though - which is good. I have heaps of milk - can express 200ml off one boob - AFTER feeding:eek:,.. which is probably why I have mastitis again. Off to get antibiotics today - I just dont have the time and energy to muck around with it. Feel so miserable and throbby... Guess I am just prone to it - this is my 3rd bout in 11weeks.

On a more positive front,. Jasper had a fabulous first week at preschool,..he loved it!!! And because he didnt sleep there, he was asleep at 6pm all 3 nights:D loving that!!! He has also taken to TT with a passion,.. all poo and some wee on the loo:yelclap: And he has only just turned 2:smiliedance:

SJR - Sorry to hear about the mastitis. I hope it clears up quickly. Sounds like you are so overstimulated it's not funny. Have you heard of block feeding? Basically you feed off the same breast for a couple of feeds in a row (in order to decrease the level of stimulation that swapping breasts each feed causes - especially if Rafferty is feeding every hour:o). I have had a few times lately where my breasts have been too full all day long and I tried this and things settled down again the next day. Also, try not to express if you can as tempting as it may be ((hugs))

Ellie - Thinking of you ((hugs)) I hope things turn out OK

W&Dsmum - Oh no! My DH is planning to have the snip in about 6mo time. What a shock it would be if it didn't work

Us - Well Henry had his vaccinations on tuesday. Everything went well except he was very grumpy come bedtime that night. We gave him a bit of panadol though and it worked a treat. Sorry to hear about everyone's non day sleepers. I am so lucky that Henry has a sleep regularly about 45min after each feed for an hour or so through the day although he doesn't like to miss his boobie so he doesn't have long naps in the daytime. His sleeping at night is pretty good too with usually about a 6 hour stretch after he goes to sleep at 7pm. I am wrapping him for all his sleeps and he settles himself in the cot. I can't believe how different he is to my daughter. She was the worst sleeper during the day!:o

See that Emelia! Babies do sleep during the day! lol. She has broken out in eczema and nappies are foul again, I obviously slipped up on the diet somewhere, poor girl, no wonder shes not sleeping.

SJR that sucks about the Mastitis, I can't believe how much milk you have! Raff must be becoming a pudding! Hope you get it sorted soon. Yea that Jasper had a good first week, I'm keeping Ash home I've decided and I'm freaking!!!! I'm not sure I'm one of those mums who needs her kids hanging off her 24 hours a day.. EVERYDAY!

Hey all, sorry I can't remember all the personals my memory is shocking at the moment.

Jane you poor thing with mastitis again, I hope it clears up for you soon hun. I was super full the other day it was crazy so I did the block feeding like Alison suggested, it helped settle it down. I have a huge supply too, constantly soaking breast pads, leaking everywhere. I can express heaps after feeding as well. To try and prevent mastitis I massage everynight while in the shower with the hot water flowing onto them, so far it seems to be working. If they are getting sore I put a warm washer on them during the day aswell.

Oh and great work Jasper!:smiliedance:

Bep - bugger about your DH's snip not working, hope it gets sorted quick smart!

Ellie - I am thinking of you hun:hugs:I hope it all turns out okay

Umm can't remember anything else! Mia needs help on the toilet, I will check in after.

Yeah i am going public i really dont have the kind of money to go private. I don't eat any fatty foods i have to keep my oil to a min but i still get the pain just not as bad.... but i am going to the drs today a i was in hospital last week and the er dr wanted me to get the operation soon as i have an infection...

congrats on lasting the night with out dh... well done.

Oh - Kiralee,..your tattoos look great! Where did you get them done? Were they expensive? How long did they take? What did you do with A whilst you were getting yours done?

got them done at a pace called wildfire in port macquarie, mine cost $110 and lukes cost $130, mine took around 15mins and lukes took 30mins... Luke got his tatt first so i looked after aysha then when it was my turn we just swapped.... but i'm getting another tat tomorrow with my frieds as a friendship one and one of them will look after her while i get it done

i had to give aysha a dummy because she is teething so she could chew on it other wise she will constantly cry or want to use me as a dummy.... i really didint want her to have a dummy as she didn't really want one but now she is teething it's a different story

Anyway- got the phone call today that I really hope and pray none of you girls here ever get- u know how they do the screening blood test when bub is born, and if you don't hear from them all is good??? Well we heard from them today-, and Bianca has to go for tests tomorrow to see if she has Cystic Fybrosis(sp?)....as the screening test came back positive for this.....we will know on thursday the result I really, really pray that it will come back as nothing, and I mean really- thursday can't come fast enough ATM, so sorry, but I will leave it there, have to get packed, as we have the appt in the morning, so I better get organised.

Hope you all have a great night.....

:hugs: Hope you hear really really soon! fingers crossed she is all ok.

Also i wanted to celebrate that i have been BFing for 9 weeks now!!! i cant believe i made it this far 3 times longer than i did with william.:smiliedance: Well done Libby, that is fantastic.

DH got his results back from the snip that he had 7 weeks ago, IT DIDN'T WORK!! Im so freaking out now He has to go back in a month and give more "samples" and then they work out what to do next.

Take care!
OH NO!!!
Matt is due for his testing soon... hope his is ok! he won't want to hear about your DH lol.

Oh no SJR! Although i must say i am jealous at the milk suppy. Mine is fine, but i am trying to express some milk off to freeze for Joel, as i am starting up selling tupperware, and need some for him when i have to do parties... but i can only get 100ml MAX at a time, and that is inbetween feeds! lol.

My DH had his out not that long ago. We didn't have private health insurance, but we got it done privately anyway. Was about $3000 out of pocket, so wasn't too bad. He is so relieved now! after 4+ years of pains with no one diagnosing it! took him to turn yellow to get it all done!

Don't worry about the dummy.. they arent' the worst things in the world. Ryan had one on and off when he was little. Didn't take to it too strongly, and it was easy to get off him in the end.

Ellie - Hope your news is good!:fingerscrossed:

Libby - Well done on the BF

Beth - Your DH must be superman! The same things happened to my dad (about 25 years ago) and he still refers to himself as superman.

Tracey - Bridie has just begun this catnapping caper too, she eats, plays for 1-1/2 hours, cries, we put her to bed and she sleeps for 45mins-1hour then screams again til she's fed. Very frustrating when on Sunday she would sleep for at least 2 hours between feeds. BUT, she's sleeping really well at night...goes down at about 8pm, then dreamfeeds at about 11pm, last night she slept til 5am, straight back to sleep til 7am, so I suppose she's getting enough sleep!

Kiralee - Tattoos look great, DH is trying to talk me out of another one, I found a website that makes ambigrams...you can use a name and have it designed so it spells the same thing upside down and right way up, they look cool! I can't believe Aysha is teething!

SJR - Sorry about the mastitis , but it's great news about Jasper and kinder and toilet training.

Well, had a good week, DH goes back to work tomorrow, but I've got a few things to keep me busy. We're looking forward to the Mornington Market on Sunday...it is great for kid's stuff. Have fun everyone.

Hi guys!

Well Ariana got diagnosed with reflux yesterday by the paed. So shes on thickened formula and on losec too. Shes really gone off my breast milk which is so sad. I really want to keep bf but she doesnt want too. The paed said she might be off it cause of the reflux or the fact she likes the convience of bottles. :( Saw the psychiartist yesterday and she wants to put me on anti depressants but they want to wait til my paed gets back from holidays to start it. Only reason is so they can keep an eye on her in case of reaction to drug. So things are slowly getting on track. I cant believe what bad luck ive been having since giving birth. Its supposed to be the happiest time instead its not. :( Hopefully it will start getting better soon. Im going back to work next month, i cant believe how fast thats gone. Well i'd better get back to my studying! Talk to you soon. :hugs:

No wonder you have mastitis SJR you poor thing. I haven't been expressing - too lazy or too busy (one or the other), but I could only get 90mls and that was in between feeds, not after a feed. Hope your mastitis clears up soon for you darl.

Us - I am bridesmaid for my sister in May and she is putting pressure on me now for my size so she can get dresses!!! What tha..... I am not happy about this, as it is really important for me to breastfeed this time round and I am not going to try to loose weight right now when things are going well for us (for a change). I just know I really have to work at it - to loose weight and I am not going to make my milk dry up in the mean time, esp when I have 8 mths to go! Any advice on what exercise I can do. I am thinking I am only allowed to exercise. No jogging or aerobics.

Well in the last few days we are going great guns. Just hoping it continues. Riley hasn't liked sleeping thru the day but we finally seem to be developing a pattern in the last few days. His first feed starts at 9am of a day and then he will have a very short catnap at 10.30am, feed at 12pm, asleep by 12.30pm (then has 3-4 hours), feed at 4pm (with a catnap in between), 6pm, then last feed at 7.30pm and asleep by 8.30 to 9pm and will wake at 5am for a feed.

Lets just hope that continues. Things are finally coming together. For now...... hehe

I am guessing Riley is about 6.3kgs approx at 11weeks of age, don't get weighed until next tues. But last Tuesday was 6.160kgs. So if he is about 6.3kgs, then he has put on 3kgs since birth and probably even more by next weigh in next Tuesday. So he is a budda baby and done so well compared to my first child. Lachlan (my first son), was only 6kgs at 6mths of age.

Hope your partner lightens up a little I would hate it if James was on at me for how little i had gotten done throughout the day, it is the opposite here actually hes on at me to not do so much, because they really dont know what we go through during the day with the kiddies. Big hugs to you hon

I am the same always tidying up and Wade wonders why I bother, will only be messy again soon! Anyway while I can do it I will, if I didn't have time I wouldn't. Just trying to train Wade to be tidy is a mission. But I keep bribing him with the DTD word and he soon smartens up his act. For example he just finished off he is big toberlone bar in the fridge last night and this morning the empty packet is still in the fridge. What is with that! Forever running after my 3 boys, guess I will be for a long time to come yet too! hehe

Have you ever m/c?

Just that I have a friend who has m/c many many times and had a stillborn and I always wondered if it was because of this cystic fybrosis gene as her daughter has the gene also. Well carries it just like your daughter. Probably no significance, but I have always wondered.

Well we were actually giving her the tablet form before but she didnt like it so i actually bought some syrup(the one your talking about) from a compound chemist that the paed recommended me to. Its bloody expensive too, i almost died when i saw the price of it, it was $45!! Oh well at least its helping her and thats all that matters.

Badgersmum covered it, so I wasn't going to say the same, as we did the same and got the losec compounded into a syrup.

But I just thought I would now mention that it will all up in cost, so for your whole family it is now worth keeping a tally of medical expenses for your tax. You never know you may get to the threshold. Not sure what the figure is anymore. But see we also had a prescription formula for Lachlan, so our medical expenses ended up being huge.

i can usually get 150ml from my left, but only 50ml from my right inbetween feeds. The right doesnt seem to want to work with me!! How do i get it to even up????

i'd like to know that too

Oh yay hun that's such great news... so happy for you.

Are you talking about the threshold for medications? Cause we already passed the threshold for medicares safety net this year, thanks to the Obs bill!!:D

Yes it is PBS for medications not the safety net.

Also our health fund will pay back some on losec so take them your reciept if you've got private cover. Every little bit helps!

Hey Mel, what's that website?

Hey girls just wanted to say that we are still about but just sooo busy with getting ready to move to Dalby next month. I try and pop in to keep up on what's happening but never seem to get time to reply :o I won't attempt any personals as I've missed sooo many pages but just wanted to say hi to everyone and send :hugs:'s out.

As for us, Thomas is going well. We got his kidneys scanned again the other day and it looks like the left one is getting worst. They want to do further testiing to see if maybe he has a blockage or something. :(

So now, I have to find a good paed in either Toowoomba or Brisbane and get him in as soon as possible. Does anyone know any good paed in either place? I need to find one by the 30th september as that is when Thomas is seeing the GP again for his needles and I want to get the referral then.

Just a quick one, as I have to get DD ready for school and than I am going out wit BF for a coffee.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and thinking of us- it was a much better nights sleep. DH cracked a $60 bottle of wine that he has been storing, and after I fed Bianca I even had a glass.........we are so releived. To think of all the things she would have to go through in her life just make me shudder.

We just wait to see now, who is the carrier- I hope it is only one of us, as that would put us down to having next child with CF to 1 in 500. If it is both of us than it is 1 in 4 and wqe would have to have a good talk about how we are going to have more kids. But ATM we are just so happy, can't even describe it.

hOPE EVERYONE HAS A REALLY NICE DAY.

Badger'smum - There are 2 websites...

www.flipscript.com (http://www.flipscript.com) - This one has a generator that will actually show you what the ambigram looks like and you can print it. I plan to resize it on the photocopier and take it to the tattooist to make the stencil.

www.wowtattoos.com (http://www.wowtattoos.com) - you'll have to search for the ambigram generator and they sell the stencils, if they have the name you want, for $9.99 (I think it's US$), otherwise they'll design the name/word/words you want for $19.99 OR in a different font for $79.99.

Now I just have to talk DH into it! He's keen to get one himself but not so keen on me getting it done!

BRIDIE SLEPT FOR 8.5 HOURS LAST NIGHT! YAY! My first proper night's sleep since July! AND she's asleep again now! (although just typung that will probably jinx me and she'll wake up!) so DH has gone to work and I've done the washing, showered, vacuumed, done the dishes and generally tidied up and it's only 5 to 9am! What am I supposed to do for the rest of the day? Bridie and I will probably go for a walk and I'm planning to go to school assembly (at the school I teach at) this afternoon, then have a few drinks at school with the other teachers. It'll be nice to show Bridie off to the kids and parents at assembly. Tomorrow Bridie is going to her first birthday party, my friend Peita's daughter Mackenzie is turning 1! FUN!

Have a good day everyone!

Melmc congrats on the big sleep!! You've done so much this morning already, ive only just got my first load of washing on and done the dishes.

ellie13 so glad about the test results and it was derfinately worth the bottle of champane. Hope you guys can relax a bit more now and have a good weekend.

mummy_to_thomas sorry to hear about Thomas kidneys. Im the same with the forums am always reading but rarely get to reply, Lachlan's in my lap at the moment.

Kiralee love the tattoo's they look amazing. Almost tempted to get one myself. And that sucks about the laptop, would almost be cheaper to buy new one instead of the screen looking at those quotes.

Lachlan slept for 6 hrs last night !! :smiliedance:From 8pm to 2am. I almost feel human today hehe. He now weighs 6.2kg and is 8weeks old. Need to get his needles next week which im not looking forward to.

Gabby is settling in at school but some girls in her class are picking on her :crying: And we're trying to think of an "ST" she can dress up as for the school walkathon, like "silly teenager" or "smelly teacher". Im flat out trying to remember readers and homework let alone dress ups. But we're hopefully getting something tomorro if we get to the shops.

We're off to the assembly at Gab's school shes excited about making an announcement because her class is running assembly.

Will try and add more later, hope everyone has a good day!

Well Max has settled back down, so it was either the dark chocolate I ate or a growth spurt for 2 days of unsettledness...

He now is back to sleeping from 8.30pm untill 3.30am then back to bed from about 4.30am till 6.30am...which means I am getting some lovely rest...

He has also taken to the dummy which is a blessing when grocery shopping and also when all he wants is to suck on me, meaning I can't get anything done in the mornings or dinner prep...my toddler never took to the dummy so I am actually liking the change...and feel ok with it as i only use it when necessary...

We saw the specialist yesterday in regards to his clicky hip, and as it's stable and doesn't dislocate when it clicks we don't need a brace/splint which is also a relief...we are getting the ultrasound on it done at the end of the month just to verify it's just "clicky" and not anything serious. So I am feeling a whole lot better today.

He is now 4.55kg and 6wks old, 56cm long and head circ is 39cm...So I am pretty happy all round!

Well had a very nice day- BF couldn't come for the coffee, as she had some gastro, but 2 mums from DD's class came- so we had fun, fun, fun.

Bianca is such an angel:cloud9:- u still can't wipe the smile off my face after the great news yesterday.

Kangaskippy- Bianca won't have the dummy- nope, I have never seen a baby spit anything that far.... DD1 refused the dummy too, only if it had bonjela on it.... than she would have it.

Amira- good luck with the costume- hope you had fun at the assembly- and your DD made you proud.

Melmc- congratulations on such a great sleep- well done- hope it keeps going every night now for you. And did you have fun visiting school and friends.

SGR- hope you're feeling better- and that antibiotics are working for you-:hugs:

Mum to thomas-huge hugs for you- I don't know anyone in Brisbane-sorry- but I hope you can find someone good quickly.

Ok I will leave it there for the time being..... a huge:wave: to everyone I ahve missed and hope you all have a great night.

Ellie13- thats such fantastic news for Bianca and your family. Goodluck with the tests for you and your DH.

Sorry everyone else, no more personals tonight.
I took Charlie to the CHN today and he now weights 4.7kgs. He has gained 500g in 8 weeks. I now have to get a referral from my GP to see a pead. She thinks he may have failure to thrive. Dont know much about it yet, but i am going to research it to death. She is concerned that he has very small fontanelles. He has done since birth. His weight has dropped from the 95% to the 5% bar in the blue books, and under the 15% on the WHO growth charts.
I am a little down atm. She is also concerned about his ingrown toe nails as she has never seen them in someone so young. They are almost fixed, which means we can avoid surgery, but she is still concerned. He is reaching his milestones perfectly, but something is still amiss. Well i am off to bed now.
Oh, i also have to have my tooth pulled next thursday.

Morning all,

Sorry I haven't been on, I am just enjoying my parents being here. We can't believe that it is almost over  but at least Maddison and I go back with them for a while. I will really miss my dh and I feel guilty for taking Maddison away from him for so long, but it was his idea.

Mum and dad said Maddison looked a lot smaller than she did via the webcam, it just goes to show how deceptive they can be! I bet my sisters twins look so different then also as I have only seen them via the camera. Anyway, they think she has really grown so mum and I got the tape measure out yesterday to see how long she was. We think she is now 60cm long, that means she has grown 3cm in 2 weeks. I actually thought she was now 63cm but it was hard to tell with her wriggling around. We thought she was having a growth spurt but not that much! :) These are some recent pictures.

I just wanted to pop on and let you know we are well here, so sorry for no personals. I do however want to say;

Ellie that is fantastic news you and your dh must be so relieved. I can't imagine how you must have felt when you received the first phone call saying you had to go for further tests. Sending lots of :hugs: your way.

mummy_to_thomas sorry to hear about Thomas' kidneys, I hope it turns out to be nothing but at least if they can identify it now, they can do something to prevent it from getting worse. Sending :hugs: your way.

snapcracklepop I hope it is nothing serious and that Charlie is fine, I don't blame you for wanting to research into it I was the same when they told us Maddison has a heart murmur. Just don't look into it so much that you end up worrying yourself further, sometimes it pays to do a little research and then wait until you get some more information from the paed. I am now waiting until we have Maddison's echo before I do any more research otherwise you can worry too much over nothing if it turns out to be alright. Sending lots of :hugs: your way and I hope he turns out to be fine.

Well I am going to get offline and get organised as mum and I are going to go to the local fresh produce markets this morning. I have never been and we thought it would be nice to have a look around. Going to put Maddison in a thermal nightsuit to keep her nice and warm and then put a full length coat on her.

We bought a lovely new camera and I can now take some really clear photographs of her, I will have to post a few on here and add they to my facebook page later. We also bought a fantastic play gym, it took me forever to track it down and then to actually get it from BigW but we have it and she LOVES it!! :yelclap: Going to take a picture of it and post it on here, if anyone is looking into getting one and hasn't yet it is great.

Speak soon, going to get organised. Have a great weekend all.

Good morning lovlies! It is a beautiful day here!

Ellie - that is just fantastic news! I am so relieved for you, just awesome! Good luck with the test on you and your DH.

Lib - I hope that its nothing serious and that it sorts itself out. Try not to research things on the net, it will just worry and stress you even more.:hugs:Oh and good luck with getting your tooth pulled.

kangaskippy - glad max has settled back down for you. That is good news about his hips, hope the ultrasound goes well.

Amira - Glad to hear Lachlan is sleeping well and that you are too! Sorry to hear Gabby is being picked on, children can be so cruel. Hope you had fun at the assembly.

Mel - yay on Bridies sleep hope she keeps it up for you. Hope you had fun with your teacher friends and I hope Bridie enjoys the birthday party!

Jane - how are you feeling now hun? Hope it is all clearing up for you. How did you go with the MIL? Oh and I love Raff's nickname, so cute. DH calls Ry 'bruiser' lol cos he looks so solid!

Mel - good luck in getting everything sorted for your move. We are moving in 2 weeks and I havent started packing yet! I hope everything is okay with Thomas and that you find a good pead.

Naomi - sorry to hear Ariana has reflux, but I am thrilled to hear she is putting on weight and doing well. I hope you are taking extra special care of yourself and remember we are here if you need to chat.

badgersmum - I love your av too. Just gorgeous! Yay for the hot milk bra too. I have a black and white one. So lovely. I am getting some more soon, when I finally get myself to the shops! I could just order them I suppose...

Sheree - dont let your sis put too much pressure on you about dress sizes. Maybe have a chat to her and explain that she may just have to wait a bit longer. I am just doing yoga, pilates and walking. Same as what I used to do. Just dont overdo it and make sure you are eating well and it shouldnt effect your supply. Glad to hear Riley is doing so well with his sleeps and his weight gain.

Bep - Are you free next friday? Its the only day I am next week, otherwise we will have to make it like three weeks after that due to the move etc. Let me know k.

Okay so we have been super busy. Our house is almost finished! It is all done next week then we have the handover on the 25th. I cant believe we are so close to moving into our house! It looks amazing I just love it! I have heaps of packing to do, havent started a thing yet! Plus I have heaps to organise for the new place. Landscaping is the biggy. Trying to find plants and a design for our tropical garden is driving me nuts!

Mis is doing well, TT is fantastic. We have only had a nappy for nightime for a couple of weeks now. No nappy for nap time and no accidents. We have even been going out in the car, shopping, to playcentres etc and no accidents. Looks like we are finally there! She is still totally loving kindy, constantly talking about it when she isn't there as well, asking to go etc! I am going to put her on the list for a second day now. I am so happy she is loving it.

Ry is doing really well. Such a happy little guy. We are weighing him this weekend, but you can just see how much he has grown. He is sleeping really well at night too, wakes once usually around 2.30ish then not again to betweem 5 and 6, then back down again. He is cluster feeding in the evenings though, but it doesn't bother me.

Oh and I have been breastfeeding for almost 8 weeks! I am so thrilled!! Every week I clock up just makes me so happy!:goodvibes:

Will check in later, have a great day all!

It is lovely here also, we went out to the markets and ended up walking round in a t-shirt it was that warm!!

Having a great time here with mum and dad, we go back on the 22nd and I don't leave there until the 24th Oct. I can't wait to go and see my sister and the twins, they are already 9 months old and I have only seen them via the webcam.

My mil can't wait to see Maddison, it is her first granddaughter and she has been so desperate for one. I keep sending her photographs so it doesn't seem like she has missed out on too much. I have also done a little bit of filming with the camcorder since Maddison has been born.

Well, think we are going to look at some new homes today and show mum and dad more of Canberra and what is available here. They love it and I think even my mum would move here if there wasn't things to tie her to England.

Em how is your house going? How much longer until you can move in?

Got to go, be back later.

WOW! Naomi and Sasha - your photos are so cute! I can't believe how much hair Maddison has and how much Ariana has grown in just 7 weeks! I think Bridie has lost hair or it's got fairer and I just can't see it!

I'm bored sh*^less at home today, everything is done, but we're going out this arvo to a 1st birthday party and then to visit my uncle in hospital. He had a heart attack on thursday night (I'm sure solely due to smoking and not looking after himself!) and he's been transferred to Cabrini from country victoria where he lives.

I had a good time at school yesterday, sat with some parents from my class at assembly and Bridie spewed on the hall floor (she's a MAJOR spewer!), which all the kids thought was HILARIOUS! Had a glass of champers with my teacher friends who cuddled Bridie to death. When I got home the inlaws arrived (it's ok, they're great!) and we all had dinner together until Pa decided he had to wake his grandaughter up - he just loves her!

Bridie slept for 6 hours between feeds last night but went down at about 9pm and only dreamfed at midnight, so really 9 hours of sleep, although she wouldn't have slept that long without a feed. I'd rather feed her at 11pm or midnight and avoid the 2-3am feed I think!

Hope everyone is having a good saturday, it's really warm here in Melbourne, but blowing a gale. Hope it stays nice til at least lunch tomorrow for the market in Mornington. Catch up tomorrow.

Badgersmum - did you look up the ambigrams?

Jenna - wow so much hair, what a cutie. Lachlan was like that, so much hair. It was so long and stood up like a prickle cut all by itself! Glad you are enjoying the time with your family.

Naomi - ohhh she is so cute. Lovely pics of your gorgeous girl.

Mel - yay on Bridie's long sleep. Good going little girl.

Libby - lachlan was a failure to thrive. He use to continuously purk up right up to the next feed. I was only thinking this morning, when hanging out the washing that I really don't go thru many clothes with Riley like I did with Lachlan. He was a 2 hourly feeder and seriuosly use to sick most of it up. Then at 5mths he refused to feed completely - so we had no choice but to tube feed him for 2 mths and then he would throw up even more, it was like a tap you couldn't turn off, just horrible. So even though we tube fed him and had him on continuous feeds all night thru a machine he really still didn't put on much weight. He has always been around the 3rd percentile even though he was born on the 25th percentile. Funny thing is, his brother is on the 80th. I feel for you, as Lachlan was always 60-80grams a week weight gainer and some weeks he would loose weight. Is he feeding well? Does he purk up alot???

Well Riley is back to not much sleep thru the day, but he is given us 10 hours between feeds in the last two nights and the few night before this it was 7-8.5. So very very happy mumma atm.

Lachlan is sick and has a middle ear infection. He was inconsoloble 2 nights ago, we knew it had to be an ear infection as he has had a cold all week too. So now he is on antibiotics, and last night wasn't too bad in the sleep dept. I think he woke twice, which is normal for him even when he is not sick.

Hi hi all

Well sorry for being so quiet but I have been working on this pt area for dh for fathers day and our wedding anniversary, been rendering so not much time inbetween doing that running the house and taking care of the kids. But had a baby shower this afternoon which was lovely to just relax.

Sorry to hear about some of the upset littlies with their shots hope that they are feeling better soon.

SJR hope that the mastitis is getting better for you. Yay on Jasper loving preschool and on his TT, that is awesome. Love the nickname 'cricket' too

Ellie that is FANTASTIC news for your little one. You certainly deserved to crack that bottle of wine. Hope it was gorgeous, must be fantastic to breathe easy now, you poor darling getting a shock and worry like that.

Beth that is a gorgeous pic of your beautiful little ones in your avatar, I was the same as sheree thought it was gorgeous and noticed it but forgot to mention how lovely it is. I bought James the wii fit for him as a pressie from Chrace and I when he was born but havent used it yet so I will get on there and check out what it has to offer, should take advantage of the live in pt here aswell shouldnt I!! hehehe

Naomi hope you are feeling in better spirits. Sucks about having to go back to work too...just do what you can and what needs to be done, the rest can wait. Hugs darl

Sheree I think you should have a chat with your sis too, there is no way you can really give her a size at the moment and being your sis she should understand as long as you give her a reasonable amount of time I cant see the problem. I am hearing you on the tidying too, just as I clean up and tidy something I turn around and it is tipped out or something again...sigh...

Mel that is no good at all about Thomas thinking of you and hope that something can happen for him real soon. Sorry though I am no help as to a good paed. Oh and good luck with the move...it certainly is all happening isnt it!

Nicki that is terrible about the kiddies picking on Gabby, I used to get picked on at school right from kindy all the way til grade 10, and i tell you what no one had better say anything or do anythin to any of my kiddies especially Tahliah....I feel for you...tough one huh. Hope that she had a great assembly though

Anyways- well Bianca again thought that it was great to have a play time fom 4am till nerly 6am- after a 11pm and 1am feed....she was so cute, at least I get all those smiles and her talking all to myself:D, but it does leave me a bit tired:sleeping:.

Libby-:hugs: hope it will get sorted out soon- u must be beside yourself- I really hope it is nothing serious and that just a simple switch of formula or something will do the trick.

Hay hun, i just wanted to say that i totally understand how you feel and you're not alone. Ariana has been struggling to put on weight since birth and has only put on 1.1kg since birth and shes almost 12wks old!! Shes now starting to slowly put it on but i feel like **** about her poor weight gain. I just wanted to say that im here anytime you need to chat, we're all here for you hun!
Thanks so much for that hun. What has your gp/nurse said abouther weight? How concered are they about it? Ariana is absolutely gorgeous btw.

He feeds every 3-5 hours for 30-40 mins. He purks after every feed, its like curdled milk and its warm.
I think my milk is drying up. I tried expressing this morning and i only got 50mls off one side. I was getting 120mls. I am going to make some more of my cookies and see how i go with them. I have a crack on one of my nipples (ouchies) so i am expressing off that one to let it heal. I also brought a nipple sheild to see if that helps.
Maddison is gorgeous. I wont show Charlie the pic as he will suffer from hair envy. He is bald.

libby- thinking of you- it could be your milk- my mum said that with me she had milk, but no nutrients in it- i didn't put on any weight for 4 weeks, so they put me on formula and bingo- chubby bubby after that. hope tha that is all there is too it.

anyways had a great jights sleep bianca only fed once and went straight back to sleep, so i cought up a bit and fel more alert today. sorry i am typing with only one hand as bianca has fallen asleep on my arm. how cute is she- i am soooooo in love.

anyways u all have a great day!!!1

[COLOR=darkorchid]BRIDIE SLEPT FOR 8.5 HOURS LAST NIGHT! YAY! My first proper night's sleep since July! AND she's asleep again now! (although just typung that will probably jinx me and she'll wake up!)

That's fantastic hun! Hope you feel refreshed after the nice long sleep!

Ouch, I hate dentists :( I really hope there's nothing serious with Charlie. When do they think you can see a Pead? Hopefully the weight is not long!

Bep - Are you free next friday? Its the only day I am next week, otherwise we will have to make it like three weeks after that due to the move etc. Let me know k.

Mia is doing well, TT is fantastic.

Every week I clock up just makes me so happy!
Will check in later, have a great day all!

Em:hugs:

Awesome on the BFing hunny! Im free this Friday, I have Gizzy and Kyanna'sMum heading over to my place in the morning for morning tea if you would like to join us?

Aw she so gorgous!! :cloud9:

What new in my world.... um.... Deeky is 12 weeks old now, my baby is growing up. The weather is getting warmer FINALLY up here on the Goldie, Deeky can wear shorter jumpsuits, and man are his legs so chubby, so adorable. I never noticed it when he was in the winter suits. Yesterday was 27 degrees here, loving it!

I went to a Gold Coast Bub Hub girls night last night and really enjoyed myself and the time away from the boys. I hadn't been away from Deek for more than an hour before and it felt weird LOL!

Today is MIL's birthday so we'll be heading over to their place for lunch with the kids.

Have a good sunday ladies!

Well Riley is back to not much sleep thru the day, but he is given us 10 hours between feeds in the last two nights and the few night before this it was 7-8.5. So very very happy mumma atm.

I'm so jealous! Well done, Eme will do 1 5 hour stretch from 6pm and the rest of the time I'm lucky to stretch her 3 hours

Badgersmum - did you look up the ambigrams?
On my way now hopefully..... thanks for the info

I'm wishing I lived near the Gold coast, i'd love to come play....

Libby, I hope the Paed has some good news for you and charlie-boy, hugs to you in the mean time. I'm a google doctor too so I can totally understand you wanting to do that!

I've had a sacha kind of weekend (:p), we've weedee 2 x wheelie bins of weeds, mulched, planted, topsoiled the lawn, pulled up and relaid pavers, hosed and scrubbed outdoor furniture, topped up soil in pot plants and fertilized everything. I am sooooo buggered!!! All with 2.5 hour feeds and very little sleep from little miss. House is trashed from all the dirt little man has walked in!

Speaking of Sacha.... I have a frien who wants her kids name's tattooed on Hebrew too, your friend doesn't happen to live on newcastle fo they?

Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend!

Oh bugger I just got a letdown and no pads in, I hate that!

Good morning all!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Jenna - Glad you had a great time at the market and that you had great weather for it. That is very exciting that you get to meet the twins for the first time! The house is going great, will be all finished end of this week, then there is just the clean they do and a bit of touch up painting and we can move in the following week. Very exciting!

Naomi - great pics of Ariana she is so cute! The sepia looks great.

Mel - Glad to hear you had a great time at school. LOL about Bridies projectile and all the kids thinking it was hilarious! Hope Bridie enjoyed the party.

Sheree - Glad you are getting some good sleep in during the night, hopefully he will start sleeping again during the day for you too. Oh and poor Lachlan hope he gets better soon.

Sasha - yeah it will be so nice to be in our own place again. We sold our old place in Feb this year but it seems like so much longer than that. Can't wait to make a home again IYKWIM. Rentals just dont feel the same for me, I like knowing its mine. We had another big outing yesterday with Mia just in knickers, no accidents even with a 1 hour car ride. So proud!

Ellie - sorry to hear about your friend, sure sounds like she touched alot of people.:hugs: Glad to hear you have had some better sleep since Biancas nighttime play session.

Libby - hope the cookies help with your supply.

Bep - friday sounds great! What time? What can I bring? Can I get you to PM me your address again? Yay, can't wait! Glad to hear you had a great time at the girls night, so wish I could have made it, the next one Ry will be that much older and hopefully will be taking a bottle just in case. Hoep you had a good time at your MIL's birthday lunch.

Badgersmum - yay on the Sasha weekend lol!

Shell - hi hope all is well there.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend.

Was a very productive one here! Got a tonne of things done on saturday so we got to have a lovely lazy day yesterday. We went down to the beachside markets at Coolangatta in the morning and had some morning tea there. Then spent the rest of the day lazing around. Mia has developed a heat rash in the last couple of days, the change in weather seems to have really hit her. It is much better today, just trying to make sure I keep her nice and cool. She is such a sweaty little thing which doesnt help. Yesterday she had it on her face from dozing off in the car with her face up against the car seat strap, nothing a cool flannel couldnt fix but still poor possum. She only has it a little on her back today from sleeping on her back last night.

Ry had gone back to waking every 3 hours for feeds during the night so I am buggered again. Everytime he wakes he gives me huge smiles and gurgles and again when I put him back in his cot, so that makes it easier!

Didnt get around to getting him weighed, will do that tomorrow while Mia is at kindy.

Well I had better be off will check in later.

Take care all, Em :goodvibes:

Morning all,

Everything here is fine, just starting to sort out Maddison's clothes being as she has almost outgrown everything!! She is changing so quickly, we are going to get her weighed and measured again tomorrow.

Beth I have facebook, you can find me as Jenna Tucker, there are loads of us but my picture is of me in my wedding dress. It is great for keeping in touch with friends.

Em glad to hear you had a good weekend, sounds like you got a fair bit done. Glad to hear the house is almost finished, it will be lovely to finally move into your own place. My dh owned a house in England when I met him, but when we moved over here we had to rent. We can't wait to buy somewhere, we would like to build but due to the time it takes we are going to buy a new build.

Got to go and feed the dog because she is whining and then hang the washing out.

Speak soon everyone.

How exciting those with new houses (or..Jenna...on the way to buying one!) I just love new houses, I've been lucky enough to live in 8 brand new ones as my dad is a builder (yes we moved a lot!). I love the smell of new paint, carpet and laminex glue!

Badger'smum - glad you liked the ambigrams. I've decided on just a very ornate B for my tattoo, I just want something small. DH is very keen on the ambigrams though.

Beth - I'm on facebook too, you'll find me under Melanie McGregor, and the photo is the same as my avatar. I just love it for catching up with people I haven't seen in years.

Bridie is growing out of her clothes too, she's definitely out of her 00000 clothes and some of the 0000's are getting short in the legs.

It's blowing an absolute gale here in Melbourne and DH is between night shifts so we're having a very quiet day, with a Frasier marathon on DVD! Bridie is still sleeping really well (touchwood), at least 6 hours after a dream feed at about 11pm. Over night she slept from 8pm, dream feed at 11pm, woke at 5am and back to sleep til 8:30am, and she's asleep again now! She's definitely a good sleeper!

Hope everyone has a good day!

We did, and Bianca is great, just seeing if she takes a dummy as my nipples are so sore now from her using it as a dummy, but nope, she won't have one, so we will try another brand.

Hope everyone will ahve a great day.

Well Bianca is, sort of, taking the dummy now:smiliedance:- and not the new one we got today- but while Dh went out and get one, she succombed to the one I had at home. She settles so much faster with it. It got to the point that my nipples are too sore to touch, so I figured, they need a break. Also B started to chuck a lot lately, and I figured it must be from all the sucking she was doing. So we will see how we go, hopefully we have crossed the line now, and she got the idea.

And she looks so cute with it :cloud9:.....

Ayshas mum- that sling looks interesting- and what a bargain- well done.

Badgers mum- hope you feel better soon. Great that you got onto it so quick.

Sheree- that sounds like a great sleep- I so hope it lasts for you.

Scarlett_Jasper_Rafferty- bubs can be a bit funny sometimes- B is sometimes so easy to settle and sometimes it takes ages... go figure.

badgersmum- hope your infections cleare up really quick- and get it checked to get something for it- don't want it to get worse.

Everyone I have missed- a huge hello and hope you have a greta night.

Georgia and Sophie think she is great so we are totally on :cloud9: and loving our 3 little girls!!!!! Life is busy though especially with kinder runs etc... can't just run out for fresh bread and milk anymore so lunchtime can sometimes be interesting, thank goodness for party pies and chicken nuggets

Hello Everyone,

Well what a terrible day in Melbourne yesterday 4 seasons in one day with really bad wind.

Welcome IbuZiggy and congratulations on your little bub.

Kirralee - that sling looks great. Jessica does not seem to like sitting in her pram so i usually put her into her babycarrier, but i think she is getting a bit heavy for me now, my shoulder is starting to hurt.

Ellie13 - keep persisting with that dummy, to start with Jessica kept spitting hers out too, but lately she has taken to it of a night, it is so much easier to settle her with her dummy. DF did not like the idea of a dummy, but it was my nipple or her fist and i think the dummy was the better option!!!

Badgersmum & SJR - sorry to hear you both have sore boobs, glad you both got into the doctors quickly lots of :hugs: for you both.

Lissa7 - sounds like you are getting plenty of sleep, 9 hrs well done. Hope it continues for you.

Melmc - well done on the sleep also.

Well Jessica had her 8 week check up last week and she is now 5.3kg (birth 3.69) and 60cm long (birth 53cm) so she seems to be going really well in the growth area.
She has been having her last feed at 8pm then going to bed at around 8.30pm and only waking once at 4am for a feed, then she is awake by 8.30am ready to play. This has lasted for over a week now so i am quite happy that she has dropped the 11pm and 1.30am feeds. Although last night i had a terrible nights sleep, awake with sore boobs, a pain in the belly and i was soooo hot from 2am til 5am. Feel ok for now, bit tired though.

Well hope everyone has a lovely day. DF's mum is having an operation today, so will be heading into the city to visit her today.

Take care all.

Well i went to the markets yesterday and their is a lady their that makes slings it's like the hug a bub but different and it only cost $60 which is such a bargin i didn't have the money to buy it yesterday but i told luke about it last night and he went and brought it for me today :smiliedance: i want to put some lace on it to make it a bit more pretty lol.... i feel a bit plain otherwise haha this is what it looks like http://www.hum.congocart.com/category.php?SC=2
Which markets did you get it from. I want one!!!!
How does asyha like it?
Beth- i have facebook too, there is a july 08 bubhub (http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=14809523398)group too join. Come and join us!!
Ibuziggy- welcome to our group, i love the name Ziggy, its actually my drs sons name.

Well i got a referral to a pead from the doctor yesterday, he said that he isnt too worried about it as he is putting on weight, just slowly and he is sleeping well. Charlie had his needles yesterday, he has been ok, just a bit hot. Slept all night. I had the implanon put in while i was there. I was a bit nervous, but i just used some deep breathing ( i hate needles with a huge passion!!!)
My mum has been a bit of a downer of late. With the issue with Charlie not putting on weight she suggested that i stop bfing and give him ff. But i really dont want to. I have worked too hard to have a great bfing relationship with him that i would hate to stop. She told me that i have to think of what is best for Charlie and not what i want. It really hurt me when she said it. I wish she could be more supportive of me and my choices. I spoke to the dr about it and he said that he doesnt want me to stop. I asked him if they was a way to test what is in my breast milk but he said there isnt. I am baking today so i can get enough ebm stored for my mini holiday this weekend. My brother is getting married :smiliedance:!!!
Well i have to get the washing done and hung out so ican start packing.

The wedding is in the Brisbane Botanical Gardens and the reception is in Mt Ommaney. I am so looking forward to seeing my brother and also my little sister lives up there as well. Neither of them have seen Charlie yet, so it will be fun to introduce them to their new nephew. Also my dads sisters and aunty will be there as well, i havent seen them since my nannas funeral 3 years ago.

Hey,

I'm new to the bub hub. I have a beautiful little boy named Ziggy, who was born on the 15th of July. I'm hoping to make friends with other mums - as it's a bit hard hanging out with my friends now.

Welcome IbuZiggy i hope you enjoy it here i'm sure you will

Kirralee - that sling looks great. Jessica does not seem to like sitting in her pram so i usually put her into her babycarrier, but i think she is getting a bit heavy for me now, my shoulder is starting to hurt.

Well hope everyone has a lovely day. DF's mum is having an operation today, so will be heading into the city to visit her today.

That's why we bought that sling.... aysha just wouldn't stay in her pam unless she was dead asleep then even then she would wake up... so i would have to cary her and push the pram at the same time and thats a struggle in itself lol... the sling is great though it hs wide matterial that goes over your shoulders so you can stretch it over and it isn't hard on your back etc

She goes to both westport and lauriton... i have her phone number if you wanted to give her a call or she also sells them at luv baby but their an extra $5.... maybe you could get sal or mil to get you one on the weekend or me i'm going to the lauriton markets to have a look around.

I was thinking of having the implanon but i read that you coul have eptpics and i thought well since i have already had a m/c then it's probably best i dont get it.

Just do what you think is best for charlie lib :hugs:.... i also need to make those cookies today but i might wait till luke gets home so i dont stuff it up  me and cooking not a good mix

Thats what i think i might get. I knew the markets would be on this weekend, i love the laurieton markets.
I guess you cooking is like me fixing my own car, pointless and not the best idea. If i had a chef for a hubby i wouldnt be cooking either.

Charlie loves being in his carrier, but its really bulky and it is starting to hurt my back, so i am going to talk pawl into letting me get one.
Also i have talked him into letting me get phil and ted stroller :smiliedance:. I have always wanted one and now i am going to.

i think i could kill someone with my cooking

i wore the sing for a few hours yesterday and it didn't hurt my back so it would be better than the carrier. I could come up to your place and give you the brocher and give you a go of the sling if you want... i just have to wait for luke to come home from tafe

Vent Alert...

I had a phone call from my mum this morning to tell me some bad family news.

My older brother, his wife and their three boys have been travelling around Australia since July 7th, and are due home soon. Last night their middle son (5yo) was abducted from the caravan park they were staying at and sexually assulted, they did manage to find him before the sexual assult was very serious, and the man has been arrested, but it has shocked my world and their family is devestated. Due to police statements and hospital visits, they can not leave until tomorrow.
I just keep looking at my daughter today and giving her big hugs.

Those with older children, keep them close.

Thanks guys, he seems to be ok for now, but my brother said that he only told the police up to a certain point and cant remember exactly what happened after that. My sil is beside herself.
All they want to do is come home straight away, but they have to make other statements and travel an hour to another hospital as the one in Port Maquarie will not take saliva swabs etc. Not being from NSW, but i thought that was a bigger town.
I agree Beth, i want to chop it off him now... what a sick twisted ****. I am soooo angry.

Yes it was port macquarie, i have never been up that way but i thought it was near some of you ladies. Not sure where the freak was from, but he was packing up ready to leave when the cops came to the park.

I went to get Ariana's 2mth shots done yesterday since she missed them at 8wks old being in hospital and the dr refused due to a temp of 37.1. Im a bit worried shes going to be heaps behind with her vaccines now. Anyway i just went to change and feed her and shes scortching hot. I took her temp and its 38.7!!! She has no signs to why she has a temp which is worrying me. The other kids are fine, so i dont know whats causing it. :( I hope it goes away, i hate when babies are sick!!

She didnt get the immunisations, he said to come back in a few days. :yes:The panadol got it down to 37.7 but shes starting to get warm again. Im also worried too cause my DS gets febrile convulsions when he gets a fever and apparently its genetic so the girls have a higher chance of having them too.

Naomi - Lachlan is also prone to convulsions, and they are not nice! I have learnt however it is not the height of temperature it is the sudden peak of temp, so keep a real close eye on it! Keep her nice and cool. But like Beth said, maybe you should go and get her checked out for peace of mind. Poor little pet and poor mummy too!

Hi girls- will be really quick as I feel I should spend some time with DH-lol- watching tv???

Tlsmum-wow- that is so scary- hope they are all ok, and your nephew is ok too- my thoughts and prayers are with them and you.

Took Bianca to GP today, as her eye got worse- it still hasn't cleared up at all, and it has been 4wks- so she gave her more antibiotic drops, as it is infected, and took some culture to send off to a lab for analysis- so have to wait till Fri- if the eye isn't any better on friday she will be ringing the Royla Childrens Hospital for specialist advice-hmmmmmmm..... and tomorrow the poor poppet will ahve her needles, so she is really in the wars.....

Anyways- I will go, as I am exhausted- but hopefully I will be able to catch up tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great nite.

Yeah i soon worked this one out too. I always thought that it was the higher it got the higher the chance of a convulsion but i soon learnt that it is from the jump of temp. They are freaky things, jaydens had 3 and each of them were scary. :(

Oh, sorry hun, I did read that she didn't have them *smacks head* Deacon and Wyatt were hanging off me LOL!

Lol, thats fine hun, i can totally understand where you're coming from. :D

Can anyone tell me how I can change "tiger now out of da belly" I can't find where to change it to something else.

I think from memory you go into user control panel above and its in i think forum profile and you scroll down and change what you want it to say underneath what you've previously written.

Ill keep an eye on Ariana tonight and see how we go. Ive kept her in a singlet and nappy since that first temp done. I just took it before and it was 38. Her feeding has dropped down too, shes too sleepy for both breast and bottle, which is a worry esp with her weight probs we already have.:crying: Anyway we'll see how we go tonight, if shes still the same in the morning ill take her to the drs. Hi all,

Tracey - OMG! That's awful...hope everyone is ok (eventually).
Naomi - Hope Ariana's temp is ok.
Ellie - Hope Bianca's needles are ok, Bridie seemed to cope all right, hope her eye clears up soon too.
Sheree - What an adorable bath picture!

Well, my laptop is being very recalcitrant and won't let me go to the bub hub website (so I'm on my PC), not sure why and neither is DH, might have something to do with updating Internet Explorer.

I'm heading to the PND support centre shortly to have a psychiatric assessment...all part of the process apparently, should be fine, they're all really nice. I'm finding it hard to talk about how I felt before as I'm feeling so much better now, Bridie has just gone to sleep though and I'll have to get her up - BUGGER!

Went to new parents group yesterday for the first time, it was quite good, nice to meet some new people and their babies.

My parents are coming this weekend again as my uncle had a heart attack, he's in Cabrini hospital and had to have a triple bypass...he's lucky it didn't kill him! They're coming from the country to see him.

Hope everyone is well. I'll try to fix my laptop so I'm in more often!

Well morning all

Gee time just flies I was on on saturday last and now it is wednesday already! Just had a flat out weekend and then grocery shop on monday with the two boys and then to ikea yesterday with all three kiddies and a girlfriend so busy busy busy

Firstly OH MY GOD TRACEY. I am the same as Beth speechless....I just wanted to cry, and yes like everyone has said it is a parents worst nightmare, I am not sure what James and i would do should anyone ever lay a hand on any of our kids. My heart goes out to you and your family especially your brother and his wife and OF COURSE your nephew. I hope that they are able to work through this and can come out the other side stronger. I also wanted to say yay on the sleep and Jessicas weight gain. GREAT BIG HUGS to you and thinking of you.

Ibuziggy welcome. I hope you love it on the hub, it is a wonderful source of friendship, support and knowledge. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Lisa I thought that was funny about feeling like a teenager, but I know exactly what you mean as we felt the same the two times we have since Chrace's arrival into the world. I keep worrying though that we may get another blessing, as in fall pregnant, even though I am on the mini pill and have taken it at the same time everyday and am also fully breastfeeding, but we fell pregnant with Tahliah on the pill and Chrace we fell whilst using condoms and I was fully breastfeeding, Landon so far is the only one we have had to try for...which I am grateful for all of them but seriously another one within the next year or two would be too much I think I mean we would deal with it and love it I am sure once the idea settled in but if we could plan it we would wait another year and a half to two years for our last....anyways sorry just putting my thoughts and concerns out there

Libby take care of that sore nipple, they are horrible. I hope that Charlie is doing well too and I would follow your instincts and keep breastfeeding...you are doing the best for him giving him all the goodness of your breastmilk and your doc says not to stop so keep going i reckon. I hope your mum can be more supportive of your decisions. Oh and yay for your brothers wedding I hope you have a fantastic time.

Ellie I am glad that the funeral went as well as a funeral could go. And thanks I did have a great day on saturday.

Kirralee that was lovely of luke to surprise you with the sling. How have you gone with your laptop screen?

Em sounds like you had a lovely weekend but that is no good about missys rash, hope it clears all up for her very soon

Beth you are a crack up...a sasha weekend...bit envious of how much you got done though! hehehehe I did a bit of rendering on saturday but then had a baby shower which was lovely and then on sunday i only managed to trim some bricks in preparation for rendering so needless to say I am out to do that today once the boys go down. I agree with the bub hub mums catch up night I think that they sound great, would love to go along to one too....so nice to feel like a woman and not only a mother and wife. I hope that your toenail and breast are better soon too you poor thing. And hey if you get a chance post a pic of Dans tatt, I am off to sus out these ambigrams you girls keep talking about. And no my girlfriend who wants the tatt in hebrew lives up here, but I dont think that she will actually get it.

Ok well, here all is good, had a lovely weekend with achieving stuff, hanging out with friends and having lots of lovely family time! Monday was a bit of a mission with the grocery shop but got it done and was lovely to come home and have warm weather so I stripped off the two boys and they had a bit of nudie time together, Landon thought it was great. Was nice yesterday too as I headed to ikea with a girlfriend and the kids and we had a great time browsing, and I got a few more things for James' pt area out the back, its coming along slowly, was meant to be his pressie for our wedding anniversary on friday but wont be finished. Oh well he doesnt mind and i am really enjoying doing it. So today he has the car and so we are having a quiet day at home, just got to finish tidying up the house and get the boys to bed and then I will head outside with missy moo to play and get some more rendering done. Really happy aswell as Chrace has started sleeping in in the mornings, I mean he is still asleep now, he is going down at 730 then waking at 330 for a feed and then back to sleep and the last two mornings it has been between 730 and 830 that he is waking up again...great for me, and he is still having a sleep during the day so hoping that this keeps up and I will be able to catch up on all the sleep I have missed in the last 9 weeks!!!

Ok well sorry for the lengthy post but it may be the weekend before I get on again with trying to get outside sorted so it is that bit closer to being finished. Hope all are well and hi to those I have missed.

SJR hope you are feeling better. Kira hope you are well have missed seeing you on here hope Maia is doing great guns. Kara hope you and the boys are well and hope to see you and Sarah and Jane on here soon. Miss you guys

Mel that is great news about Thomas' sleep!!! Yay you must feel like a new woman!

Sheree forgot to say how gorgeous that bath piccie was of your little guy!

Naomi sorry I forgot to check in with you too, hope that Ariana is much much better today, hoping that your luck with everything sure changes soon darl. Thinking of you

Mel good luck with your assessment today. I imagine it would be difficult talking about how you felt as opposed to how you feel now. That is great about the parents group too. Hope that Bridie stays asleep for you when you have to get her up.

Kiralee - The sling looks great, what a bargain too! Glad Aysha likes it!

Ellie - good work on getting Bianca to take the dummy. Ry flat out refuses. Mia used to have one for her sleeps so its a big difference. Hope Biancas eye clears up for you soon, poor poppet.

Lissa - glad to hear Lily is doing well. I still havent had my post natal checkup I seem to have no time at the moment with the house and getting ready to move. Am trying to get in next week so I can get my mum to watch Mia and then I only have to take Ry with me.

IbuZiggy - welcome, love your boys name!

Lib - glad to hear you got a referral. I am sure Charlie will be fine, he will probably catch up and then pass some of the others in weight gain in a few months. Sorry your mum is being a downer re breastfeeding, glad your doctor is supportive though. Keep it up you are doing a great job.

Tracey - OMG I dont know what to say that is just so incredibly awful...:hugs:

Naomi - how is Ariana doing this morning?

Sheree - Aww Riley is just so cute!!

Mel - hope your uncle is okay. No idea about your laptop, hope you fix it soon. Glad to hear you had a good time at the new parents group. Good luck with your assesment today.:hugs:

Sasha - you are always so busy! Send a little of your motivation this was, I need it this week to get this house packed up and everything ready for the big move. Glad to hear you had a good time at Ikea.

Mia's rash has all cleared up, it didnt bother her in the least but didnt look the best. Poor poppet her dad used to get heat rashes when he was a bub too. She had another great day at kindy yesterday and actually had a 2 hour sleep. Her first sleep at kindy, so I am thrilled.

Ry is doing well, has gone back to sleeping longer at night so I am thrilled, I think he was just telling my boobs to make a bit more milk at night, and boy did it work I am overflowing left right and centre!

Well I have a busy day ahead again today, lots of running around with paperwork and cheques for the builders, so best be off and I will try and check in this afternoon.

Have a great day everyone.

Em x:goodvibes::goodvibes:

Oh and Bep I will message you back, sorry I forgot yesterday!:hugs:

Anyways, Bianca's shots are this avo- I am scared....I hate them, I hated them with DD, and I know what is comming-lol.

Anyways- had a good night eventhough I had a lot of broken sleep, as Bianca fed at 2 and 4 and I had to give her her drops at 1 and 5..... but I feel ok nevertheless, as she settled really quick each time, so there wasn't much wake up time.

goodluck at your appointment hun... glad you had a great time at the mothers group...:hugs: about your uncle

Kirralee that was lovely of luke to surprise you with the sling. How have you gone with your laptop screen?

Really happy aswell as Chrace has started sleeping in in the mornings, I mean he is still asleep now, he is going down at 730 then waking at 330 for a feed and then back to sleep and the last two mornings it has been between 730 and 830 that he is waking up again...great for me, and he is still having a sleep during the day so hoping that this keeps up and I will be able to catch up on all the sleep I have missed in the last 9 weeks!!!

i'm still waiting on luke to get the second quote he was getting so i still have a broken screen.

wow you have been a busy girl i dont know how you do it.... i'm so not that energised

i was supposed to be going to the movies with my friend today but luke took the car so i dont get to go now

Ellie good luck this avo with the shots. No tips sorry, all kiddies are different, Tahli loves to help me and Landon is a cruiser and also helps where he can and Chrace has one big sleep during the day which helps me get more done, but mostly we make everything a big game and so for the most part the kiddies can be round and helping out but they are all very content kids who also like to entertain themselves so that helps. And not everyone feels the need to get things achieved all the time, wish I wasnt sometimes but James and I are like that, like to have something to show for our days, whether it be having built a sandcastle with the kids or built a cupboard or something or just getting the washing or cleaning done.

Kirralee hope he gets the quote soon and you can get it fixed. That sucks about not being able to get to go to the movies. Dont always know if it is energy that makes me go, sometimes energy, sometimes motivation, sometimes determination....but I dont always get stuff done....sometimes all day is just playing games and cooking and rough housing with the kids. hope you have a good day even though you dont get to go to the movies, Chrace has just gone down for his big sleep and Tahli and Landon are about to go for rests too as they have had a big play outside with a friend, so Im off to get them down and then get to work outside

Well the assessment was fine, really nice psychiatrist, don't have to go again, she thinks everything is ok. I do worry about what will happen when I stop the medication but that's a few months down the track anyway so no point worrying now! As the psych said I now know what to look for if I'm going down hill and should be able to nip it in the bud rather than suffer like I did before. Thanks everyone for your well wishes xxx

Bridie and I went to Fountain Gate then, and did some shopping. She is finally fitting into some 000 stuff - YAY! She must be growing! So I bought he some new suits, Target is having a kids and babies sale. I find the suits are the best, not separates, no cold backs, ankles or toes! Funny story - DH and I bought Bridie a sunhat from Pumpkin Patch - I pulled the tags off it today when we went for a walk...it's from their range for dolls and teddies! HAHAHAHA! It fits her perfectly...she's such a little tot! Anyway...we went for a walk when we got back from the shops...guess where...the shops! It was only the supermarket nearby, needing to go made me go for a walk.

DH is working an overtime shift today in Morwell at the open cut mine, it's on fire AGAIN. All the coal means it burns for days or weeks $$$$ for us, he gets double time + travel and meals! It's just as well because my maternity leave is over and I'm on unpaid family leave now!

My uncle had his surgery last night...thanks for well wishes for him too! He had a triple bypass and a pacemaker put in. He's only 52! I'm a bit mad at him because he's the only uncle (or aunt) that I have...the other uncle died a year ago, under similar circumstances at a similar age (and they're not even related!). I told him Bridie needs all the great uncles she can get. Lucky she's got some on her daddy's side!

Anyway...I'm rambling - have a good day everyone, the weather here is great today!

Hey girls, a quick pop in from me :D

Naomi, how are things going today? Hope everything is OK, you guys have been through hell.

Sheree: Riley is gorg! :cloud9:

Em: Hope you can still make it Friday :fingerscrossed:

Lib and SJR: How are the bouts of mastitis coming along?

Ellie: How did the immunisations go today?

MelC: Fantastic progress hun, you should be proud and dont feel nervous and stressed about coming off the medication, they wont take you off cold turkey, they slowly reduced my medication over a month or so to wean off it and to make sure I didn't relapse.

Im off to bed  Im such a Nanna these days.

Oh, and it's 10 days till my bday :D Ive put the foot down this year, if people in my family want to see me this year, they can come to me, I always have to travel to see them on my own birthday  Wonder if the inlaws will remember this year, they have forgotten the last two years.

Took lachlan back to the doc today. He has had a cold and a red inflamed ear. Dr wanted to check his right ear again after a few days of antibiotics. Now that the infection has settled he can see a hole in his eardrum. We have now been given a referral to see the specialist in Rocky.

This is going to be fun. 2 kids in a town I know no-one. 3.5 hours away. Not looking forward to the trip.... oh well..... gotta get it sorted.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and well wishes. My brother and his family are back home now and settling back in. I think they are organising for all of them to see a councellor. And they will not have to travel back up there for the court case they have been told that they will arrange to do it over the phone when the time comes.

Kiralee - sorry to hear you went through something similar, my heart goes out to anyone who has had to deal with it.

Hope everyone else is doing well, just wanted to pop in, have not really kept up with everyones posts sorry.

I went to my cousins mothers group yesterday (what a great sunny day by the way) and it was really good to chat to all the other mums and see all the little bubba's they all have 4 month old kiddies. But i did start the lunch off on a bad note, as i walked into the coffee shop (i did not realise it at the time but there was a mother with her 3 children sitting at a table behind the door) anyway as the door shut i heard a child start to scream, me holding jessica in one arm and my bag in the other did not realise what the hell was going on, then it finally clicked over in my head - they poor little bugger had his finger in the back of the door. I quickly grabbed the door, but the damage was done - child screaming, mother rushing over, cafe worker rushing around to get ice, me trying to appologise, but to no avail, she was just ignoring me. As the child kept screaming with ice on his finger i felt soooo bad and guilty (felt like i should crawl back under the rock i had just crawled out from). Then the mother came over 10 minutes later and abused me, as if i didn't feel bad enough and as if i did it on purpose. Bi*ch.
Anyway, sorry again for my rant.

Went to visit my MIL in hospital again last night, she seems to be doing ok. Hopefully she will be able to go home Saturday morning.
Jessica slept in the car on the way home, then i fed her at about 8.45pm and she was asleep by 9pm then she slept through until 5.59am this morning WooooHooo. She then went straight back to sleep and she is still asleep now. Yipppy. Hope this is the start of her sleeping through the night.

Sorry girls no personals, am in desperate need for a bit of shut eye while the boys are down. Just wanted to report though that:

We went to CHN appt today for Lachlan - his 2.5 year check. And he weighs 11.5kgs. Still just a little tyke. He is still following his line along the 3rdish percentile. So really as long as he follows his line and he always has, he is doing ok.

I spoke to her re: lachlan's hole in his eardrum and apparently yes it means it is perferated. We are wondering if he has had this problem for quite some time. Hence his night waking, his obsession with sucking on his bottle to go to sleep and also his ongoing feeding issues. Makes you wonder!!! Anyway hopefully we will see the ear/nose and throat specialist within the month and finally get ontop of it, once and for all.

As for his assessment. She confirmed with me what a good boy he is. In that he will happily play by himself and amuse himself. Lachlan didn't stop babbling the whole time and I was a bit concerned with his speech up till now (as he is hard to understand), but she said that was all work in progress and he is attempting and that is the main thing. So all in all, this is the most satisfying thing as a parent, the confirmation she gave me that he really is a such a good boy, makes you feel so proud.

Hi all,

Just wanted to pop on and see how everyone is, I don't get much time to come on at the moment so I apologise for not doing any personals or knowing what is going on with you all.

I will try to come back online before we go to England on Monday and catch up, but realistically I know that is not going to happen.

We had Maddison weighed and measured on Tuesday, she is 9 weeks old today and now weighs 10lb 7oz and measures in at 58 cm. I can't believe how much she is growing, the nurse told me she is going to be a tall girl and is doing really well. I am really pleased to hear that being as she has her heart murmur and could theoretically suffer.

At 17.00 today we have her echocardiogram so I am a little nervous as to the outcome, we are really hoping that everything is going to be fine and that it is a very small hole. I will try to pop on later to update you all.

Sorry once again for the lack of personals. Going to take the dog out with mum and then my dh and I are going to the hospital.

Speak soon.

Wow you and mIss Mill do look alike don't you....

Glad you mastitis is better. Glad I have never had to experience that. Although Riley's feeding has been shocking today, hopefully he is still draining me.

As for the ear perferation. I wonder why they are still sending us to a specialist then??? I just am not sure they have ever picked up this ear problem because everytime we go the doc re: ear aches, they are always to inflammed and red to see anything. It is only this time, the doc, asked to have lachlan back after a few days of antibiotics to see his ear when it wasn't so red that he saw the hole. Ears are so hard cause they can't tell you what is wrong. We just knew the other nite cause he was so inconsolable. Thru the day you would never know this boy is sick. We have suffered with lots of high temps from ears and tonsils though.

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you have stopped wrapping your baby when they go to sleep? When is it good to start doing that?

Melmc
18-09-2008, 19:20
Giggley - I still wrap Bridie (mainly for warmth) during her day sleeps, but at night she's in a sleeping bag, so as to use it for a long sleep signal. She seems to cope pretty well with either and almost always gets her arms out when I wrap her. She doesn't seem to startle herself when her arms are free. I read a sleep book that advised wrapping until 4 months...not sure why though! Do what works for you!

Well I am not sure about lots of ear infections. Probably three that we know of. But.... we have had alot of unexplained high temperatures that we didn't take him to the doctor for. Ohhh well take him to the specialist and see what he says, hopefully it is only a small hole and will heal itself. I guess I won't know until I see the specialist.

I still wrap Riley, with protest thou.... It is the only way I know to give him the signal it is bed time, and I am sure it helps him sleep thru too! (9-10hrs) I guess each to their own, I think you will know when the time is right to stop wrapping your bubba.

Beth oh my goodness how much is miss Mill like you when you were a baby!!! The pics are just so gorgeous. Makes me want to go through all my old piccies. So happy to hear that the mastitis has left you alone, but no good about your little man not being well...doesnt it suck! Hope you all get to 100% soon

Sheree good luck with your trip to Mackay with the two boys, you will be fine. And hope that it is nothing serious with Lachlans ear and that it will just clear up on its own

Tracey what a stupid woman!!! God people can overreact, I mean she would have totally had the right had you done it on purpose, but like anyone would do that to a child on purpose anyways, she should have known that you were devastated. Dont worry though I have people bail me up about Tahliah hugging and kissing their kids goodbye when leaving a playground or playgym!!! I mean kids she has been playing with and we have always encouraged her to give a hug and a kiss to people, mainly family and friends, to say goodbye...I just think some people are so petty and you cant win

Mel you are doing so great hun, so happy to hear that the specialist was so happy with you. Dont try and worry too much about what is going to happen down the track because then you wont enjoy the time at the moment with Bridie, just cross that bridge when it comes to it but I have to agree with Beth that they wont just cut it cold turkey on you. Nice for your hubby to be working that little bit extra to make some more $$ too, just a shame it comes at the price of not spending as much time with him, but oh well.

Ok well it is James and my 5th wedding anniversary today!! To the day exactly aswell as we got married on a friday. I just cant believe that it has been 5 years, seems like yesterday and then sometimes like a lifetime ago! But no 5 years and 3 children later!! Anyways I worked like a mad woman yesterday outside on the rendering, was amazed actually as Tahli was in kindy so once we got home and Chrace had another feed I put both the boys down thinking Landon would have an hour or two, but no Landon slept for 6 hours!!! And Chrace slept for 6.5!!! Very happy, kept on sneaking into their rooms to check that they were ok though as I worried about Landon after about 3 hours. He woke up happy enough but has a runny nose and a slight cough so I think he slept for so long allowing his body to fight whatever cold he may be getting, but like i said is a happy little chappy still with the runny nose today but nothing else. So needless to say almost all of the rendering is done, only a few fiddly bits today, so heading out to finish that at some stage today again when the boys are down, and I also need to clean the house, find some fab new recipe for dinner tonight and try and wax somewhere during the day as I havent waxed my legs or underarms since the day before we had Chrace so I have been living in long pants and longsleeved shirts to cover my hairyness...sorry TMI hehe...so better get on with it I spose. Hope everyone is well that I have missed and that you all have a great weekend.

Yes my boy is 12 weeks old today and I have been Breastfeeding for 12 weeks YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I am so happy.

I breastfed Lachlan till 8 weeks and then he kicked and screamed at my breast and wouldn't attach, so I expressed till 13 weeks and gave it in. Looking back, I am actually not even sure how I got to 13 weeks, felt like an eternity, whereas this 12 weeks with Riley has been such a breeze. Yay bubba boy.

I really feel I will be able to call the shots this time. So really I can breastfeed for as long as I want this time. My goal is 6-12 mths, hopefully the later side.

Yay for us.....

Omg now this is a first!

Riley was falling alseep on the lounge at around the 2 hour mark from being awake. I went and grabbed the wrap and tried to wrap him, he woke up. I said goodnight and put him in his cot. I haven't heard him cry yet! A few little grunts but he does that in his sleep. Soooo lets hope he has gone to sleep by himself. What a shock if he has. I am sick of nursing him to sleep. So this has been about 20mins now. I guess their is always a first for everything. Just hoping it continues.

Agggh no he is making noises. But no crying. So I will just leave him and see what happens.

Morning lovlies!

Ellie - I hope Biancas needles went well and that she isnt haveing unsettled sleeps anymore. Did you end up getting the showers done?

Kiralee - hope Luke gets the quote for you soon so you can have the screen fixed. What a bugger you missed out on going to the movies with your friend. Do you only have one car?

Mel - glad to hear your assesment went so well! LOL about Bridies hat too cute! Glad you had a good time shopping. Your DH must be very busy! I hope your uncle recovers well from his surgery.

Bep - what a bugger about today! LOL we must be jinxed! I hope Wyatt gets all better soon, poor poppet! How exciting about your birthday, I hope you are going to do something special! I hope your inlaws remember!

Sheree - I hope Lachlans appointment goes well and the whole heals by itself. You certainly will have your hands full when you go to Rocky for the appointment. Glad to hear Lachlans chn appointment went so well! Congrats on hitting 12 weeks of breastfeeding, that is fantastic!! It amazing how different two bubs can be hey! Did Riley end up falling asleep by himself this morning?:fingerscrossed:

Tracey - That is good that they dont have to travel back up for court. I hope the counselling helps them all to deal. Its truly awful. What a nasty lady you had to deal with, just unnecessary for her to get so angry over something that was totally accidental and not your fault! Glad the mother group went well though. Glad to hear that your MIL is doing well. What a massive sleep Jessica had!

Beth - glad to hear that you are rid of the horrid mastitis. I hope Ash's toncilitis clears up soon. Yay about your nursing top and getting austar!

Jenna - glad you are having such a great time with your parents. I bet you must be so excited with your trip getting so close now! Glad to hear she is growing so well. I hope the echocardiogram went well.

Giggley - we are still wrapping Ry. We wrapped Mia only until she was 4 months because she hated it and really started to fight it. Ry still loves it, so as long as he still likes it we will continue.

Sasha - Happy 5th wedding anniversary to you and James! How exciting! Glad to hear your bubs all cooperated for you to get heaps of the rendering done yesterday. Wow the boys certainly did have big sleeps. I hope that Landons runny nose etc clears up for his soon. LOL about the waxing, its just one of those things that gets put off hey! The joys of having too many things and not enough to do it all.

Jane - Happy 5th anniversary to you and Mike for tomorrow! September certainly is a busy time for anniversaries! Oh and yay for Jasper pooping on the loo! Hope he is still doing well with the TT and at preschool.

Sorry if I missed anyone, took me forever to get this far!

Yesterday was flat out but I got everything done that I needed too. Blinds are all sorted for our house, just have to wait for them to be made and installed. All that is left to do on the house is turn the power on and the big clean and touch up. Can't believe we are so close! We are meeting with the neighbours about the fencing tomorrow so hopefully that will be all sorted too. Then the only other main thing we have left to do is the landscaping, we are heading to the nursery tomorrow to try and figure out what plants to use, hopefully someone there can help us out cos I have no idea about plants.

We still have to sort out our clothesline and letterbox but they are easy peasy. Have a lazy morning this morning, since our date with Bep this morning has been postponed. After lunch we have to do some paperwork and xend a zillion faxes.

Anyhoo I better be off, am going to go and sort through all of miss Mia's clothes so I can donate everything she has grown out of. Then on to DH and my wardrobe. I sent through all the toys the other day so that was good.

Plus I had better do some more packing.

Oh and finish of organising DH's pressie for our anniversary on monday.:valentine: Its so weird being our first wedding anniversary when we have been together for 8 years! I just make DH still celebrate both!:p

Will check in later, have a great day all.

Wow, this is a popular month to get married. Congrats to everyone who is having an anniversary.

I am getting a little worried about Ariel. For the last 3 days she hasnt been sleeping during the day. She will wake for a feed around 7am and wont go back to sleep till about 8-9 at night. She has around 2 hrs of cat naps throughout the day, at most. A cat nap would be no more than 15 mins. But she rubs her eyes when she is awake, and her eyelids look really heavy for most of the day. So she is tired. I have tried walking her in the pram, rocking her bassinet, pacing the floor, changing nappies constantly, feeding, driving in car, taking clothes off so she only has a singlet and top on, letting her cry for a small amount in her bassinet....but none of it seems to be working. She is a bit whingy too. There is no temp. She is sleeping through the night, has been for the last 4 nights. Last night was 10 hrs with 1 feed at 3:30am.
I honestly have no idea why she isnt sleeping through-out the day. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm not much help but miss Mia was the same, barely slept a wink during the day but slept through the night. Do you wrap her during the day? Cos that was the only way I could get Mia to sleep suring the day up until she was 4 months. Oh and I used to have to put her down before she got tired. Once she was tired, she would just fight it so much. I used to keep an eye on the clock and only let her be up for an hour max. I could tell just before she started to get tired cos she would get really fidgety and jerk her movements alot more. Now I am rambling but hope that helps somewhat.

Just popping in to say a quick hi to everyone

I can't believe it, Thomas is 16 weeks old today:smiliedance:

I need a little advice, Thomas has only really had one wet nappy today since this morning. He's been drinking heaps like usual and is his usual self but he should have had more wet nappies today.

Do you think there could be a problem or could it just be cause it's warmer now and he's sweating a little?

Sasha, SJR, Em & Mez - Happy Anniversary! Wow what a month!

Jenna - Hope your trip is great!

Sheree - Well done on the BF, it's not as easy as people make it out to be! I hope the no nonsense sleep lasted!

Ellie - Hope Bianca's eye is ok and her immunisations went well. So sorry for cancelling on you!

Em - You must be so excited about the house...when do you move in? I remember moving into a new house without a mailbox and the mailman told us off on the very first day! Grumpy bugger!

Giggley - Bridie had a few unsettled days with just cat naps last weeks and she's 10 weeks old too - maybe just a 120 week phase???

Mel - not sure on the nappies...keep an eye on it I suppose!

Last year when i found out I was pregnant we sold our ute...we've missed it so much. DH has been talking about getting another one, but we really need a backseat. He's too tall for a hilux or any of those dual cab utes so we checked out the holden crewman...should be ours on Monday...somehow he always convinces me, I told him not til I go back to work! Big bugger he is! We also sorted out our tattoos, I'm having a little 'B' on my foor for Bridie, DH is having the family crest. He also wants Bridie's name in ambigram sometime soon. I'll post some pictures when they're done!

Mum and Dad are here to see my uncle in hospital, I just took their dog for a long walk while DH stayed here with Bridie (she's asleep) so nice to have and hour to myself!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Thanks everyone for the congrats was a bit of a flop in the end though, as I got a phone call from nokia (been having problems with my mobile and put it in to have a look at it) and it has some corrosion inside apparently and cannot be fixed and is not covered under warranty which is horrid as it is only 4 months old and is an expensive phone, and then I got a text message, sender unknown, abusing me for not accepting their friendship request on facebook and asking why I would lock my profile, that I need to grow up and that i am very rude!!!! I am assuming it is someone I have been friends with as they have my mobile number, but after texting back to find out who the hell it was they dont want to reply and wont answer their phone when I ring, so I am very peeved, not only because it was on our anniversary but because who in the world would write something like that to someone and would be so petty...for goodness sake I dont think I have been on facebook in months except to lock my profile last week (a friend finally showed me how) only so as to protect images of my kiddies that I have on there....
Anyways I got everything I wanted to get done except for the waxing but once James got home we didnt even eat it all, only had the first course, put the kiddies to bed and when we were going to have the second both decided that we werent all that hungry and went to bed....so all in all a flop, but oh well
Sorry for the rant just annoyed is all

SJR congrats on your wedding anniversary today...happy 5 years, hope you have a better one than what I did

Mel men and their toys huh, will be nice to get it though especially if you have missed your ute. Thats nice that you got to have some you time, think that is what I need at the moment! Hope that the tatts go well, looking forward to seeing pics. Hope that your uncle is ok and that you enjoy your parents stay. Is your hubby back home yet?

Mel I wouldnt be too worried about the wet nappy, i would just keep an eye on it, would be more concerned should it continue that way. Cant believe that Thomas is that old already!

Giggley some babes are more wakeful during the day than others but I agree with Em perhaps try wrapping and get her down before she gets tired, may take a while and a great deal of patience, then again it could be a phase, just got to try and eliminate the possibilites. If all else fails perhaps let her have a little cry (not suggesting leaving her to cry for ages or anything) then try and feed, always worked for me. GL hun

Em what kind of plants or garden are you looking at having? I love gardening, just never have enough time and when I have the time never have enough money...hehehehe Good luck with it all though, having a garden is something that some people overlook but makes such a big difference, not only to the house overall but just to have and look at, I think it is so relaxing.

Sheree yay on the breastfeeding! What an achievement, same to you too Em.

Ok well better get going on the day! And Chrace is summoning me for yet another feed...hungry little fellow. Have a great weekend all

Thanks ladies...

Well I saw DH for about 1hr alone then my brother and SIL came over for dinner (and to chat to DH about some stuff) then DH took off for cowra with his brother...so not exactly a romantic or even special day really...but hey, i suppose after being together for so long it's really just a formality...

He did however remember and bought me home a delicious selection of Lindt chocolate...very very nice...as he isn't usually one for gifts, i feel pretty special..(he'd been in brisbane on business so I thought he would most likely forget anyway)

Max slept from 8pm until 4.30am this morning which was lovely except for the engorged boobies...but man did he have a good feed when he woke up...he's sound alseep again now too...

Not sure what this weekend holds for us, just going to see if the weather stays hot or not...

mummy_to_thomas ~ re: wet nappies, Max has only really had one wet one the last 16hrs and that isn't normal for him either, but as I know he's had alot to drink I am just putting it down to the weather...:goodvibes: I would just keep and eye on your little man and see how he goes...I know I will be...

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you have stopped wrapping your baby when they go to sleep? When is it good to start doing that?

i still wrap aysha when i remember or its cool... but she as been really warm lately a few temps etc so i havent bothered

Hugs

Happy Anniversary

Kiralee - hope Luke gets the quote for you soon so you can have the screen fixed. What a bugger you missed out on going to the movies with your friend. Do you only have one car?

We have 3 cars but only 1 is registered, luke has been working on the other one and its al ready to get registered just him having the time and mney to do it oh and get it painted instead of it sitting in undercoat... as for the other car i tink i'll give it to my brother for when he starts to learn but will have to get it fixed so he can... the joys of project cars

Thanks everyone for the advice about wrapping and also Ariel's sleep patterns. I think she seems to be a bit of a napper. She goes for a light sleep for about 10 mins and then is wide awake and happy, she does it all throughout the day. It will be interesting to see how things go. I am grateful that she sleeps through the night though, she had another 10 hr sleep last night from 9pm-7am with one feed at 3am. She was only up for 15 mins. So I cant complain.
How is everyone finding motherhood? Are we all enjoying it?

Can anyone help.

I am a bit concerned about Riley's feeding lately. He goes to sleep so much on the boob that he is never getting a decent feed. It is like he is using my boob as a dummy for a short nap to revive himself. When he wakes up after 10mins I do try to put him back on. I have even been told by the CHN to now try to give him the 2nd boob, but we never get there. I am just concerned he is doing nothing for my supply atm. He is normally a very regular pooer. Sometimes 6-10 times a day and today he has only pooed onceish. He has cut out the feed at night and sleeping thru, but he is never ravenish (sp?) for that morning feed at 7-8am and rarely wakes up crying in hunger. Just plays in his cot. Last night he went 11 hours between feeds. However the morning feed is the best feed by far as I do get to the 2nd boob (only just). I have only just started attempting the 2nd boob and like I said the first morning feed is my best attempt so far as he doesn't go to sleep on it. But then I wonder if he is thinking he is full for the rest of the day. Don't get me wrong he still feeds, but not for long and still rarely get to the 2nd boob. I don't feel like my supply is very good anymore, but then if he was hungry, he wouldn't be sleeping through and surely would be crying for a feed.... I am so confused, hope I made sense, any help would be appreciated.

I can really relate to this question Sheree - this is what the midwife asked me:
1. is he still putting on weight?
2. is he happy & well within himself?
3. is he overtired?
4. are you pregnant? (apparrently they will reject the boob when you are pregnant as the milk tastes different - although it doesn't sound like that from what you are saying).

Other stuff she told me:
1. They become much more efficient at feeding at this age, so don't need as long.
2. They only need very short feeds at night (if at all), and every 3 hrs during the day.

Hope this helps a little! :)

Ariel is happy throughout the day once she has had her little naps. Its a relief knowing that other little bubbas are similar. In saying that, she has been asleep for half an hr now, thats the longest in 4 days. Hhmmm, I hope she sleeps well tonight.

Touching wood... he's pretty good of a night, last night he slept from 7 to 5am, cannot complain there!
If he does wake, it's usually around 4am for a quick feed and then he's back asleep again :)

I dont wanna jinx it though! I would prefer he didn't sleep much during the day if he sleeps through or just about through during the night

Hi everyone!

Yes, I've been a slack-**** and haven't posted much lately - sorry!! Seems that I never have enough time these days - and I only have one Bub! I have an increasing amount of respect for those of you with 2, 3, 4 and more Bub's!! :yelclap:

I have updated the photo in my Avatar - here's a link to a bigger one below. My beautiful boy playing coy - so cute!! (slightly biased of course!).

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn213/scott_and_fiona/Sam7wks3days16.jpg (http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn213/scott_and_fiona/Sam7wks3days16.jpg)

Giggley & Beth - we're having the same problems here with daytime sleeps. The midwife tells me that they need at least an hour, but that's such a struggle!! Half an hour seems to be it for my boy. Today I am making a big effort to put him back to sleep each time he wakes after only half an hour. Will let you know if it works! If either of you want a copy of the ebook I bought on sleep & settling, just pm me your email address and I'll send it to you. By the way, I've not been as lucky as you two in terms of night sleeps - 4hrs is long for my boy!

Mel - How is Thomas going now? Has he had more wees? I can't offer any help really, but personally I would get it checked if he hasn't improved in that department - just for my own piece of mind!

Kiralee - hope you feel better soon! :hugs:

Otherwise, all is good here. Young Samuel is now 5.08kg and 59cm long. Finally getting some good weight gains (240g last week) as the Maxalon does its' thing. Have kept up the Fenugreek too, but had to drop the (very yummy) BF cookies due to the Brewers Yeast giving Bub reflux... BUMMER! This BF has been quite a roller-coaster ride for me!

My 14yo step-daughter Amber arrives next Saturday for 10 days from NZ to meet her baby brother - everyone concerned is very excited, however I must admit I am a little worried she will be jealous of her Dad's bond with Sam - they were always very close before her Mum moved them OS, so she may feel a bit put out - I hope not!

Anyhow, that's enough waffle from me :ecomcity:. Hope you are all happy & well!! :flowerz:

We went to CHN appt today for Lachlan - his 2.5 year check. And he weighs 11.5kgs. Still just a little tyke. He is still following his line along the 3rdish percentile. So really as long as he follows his line and he always has, he is doing ok.

Emerald is 2 and a half corrected and she is only 10.5 kilos.

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you have stopped wrapping your baby when they go to sleep? When is it good to start doing that?

I still wrap Zack, he keeps waking himself up otherwise.

Ok well it is James and my 5th wedding anniversary today!!

Happy Anniversary for the other day

Yes my boy is 12 weeks old today and I have been Breastfeeding for 12 weeks YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Congrats thats awesome.

I have never breast fed my kids and I will never get to experience that I dont think as I think DF and I have decided not to have any more kids.

Sorry I havent been posting lately, its pure laziness on my part. lol. Zack is going really well, he slept thru for the first time the other night and he is smiling heaps now and trying to laugh, its so cute.
Oad had his court case 2 weeks ago. He was only being charged with 3 offences and a forth wont be done till the end of the year so hes not out of the woods yet. This time he only got a $600 fine so hopefully next time he will get a suspended sentence.
Me and Emerald are sick this week. I hadnt been going to playgroup for a few weeks and when I finally went we caught colds :(
anyway thats about it. Hope everyone has a good sunday.
Love Shell, Emerald and Zack.

Well, my little bundle is asleep (went down at 6.30pm after some serious grizzling ) - I hope he will have at least 4 hrs now.

Didn't do too badly today, but only got him to go back to sleep during one nap. He had 4 sleeps - 1/2 hr, 1+1/2 hr, 3/4 hr & 3/4 hr. That was since 5am... so not really enough, & I'm really hoping he will have a BIG sleep tonight.

Some very big thunderstorms around here tonight, so I best pop off and batten down the hatches! :rain:

Hi all,

Sorry for the lack of personals, I hope you are all well. I have had a great time with my parents, it is just a shame it has come to and end. Luckily we go back with them, even though I am also spending time with my mil. She is meeting us at the airport and can't wait to meet Maddison.

I will try to pop online from there but lots of visiting to do and won't get much chance. Will miss you all but will be in touch for sure on my return.

I am on facebook and will probably get to check that a little more often (slightly easier and quicker!) I am down as Jenna Tucker so feel free to add me. There are a few but my avatar is a wedding photo.

Take care all and I will see you back on here soon. All the best and take care of your littlies. :hugs: to you all.

Hey thanks Shell thanks for the congrats. Good that your DF didnt get charged with more, hopefully he wont with the last one either, but lets hope that he learns from it all too hey as I feel for you. Emerald is a little tacker isnt she, how sweet. That is no good about you all being sick, no good at all, sending lots of healthy vibes.

Jenna have a fantastic time away. Hopefully lots of people will come and see you and Maddison so you dont have to be doing too much to-ing and fro-ing. Will miss you on here and look forward to hearing all about it when you get back. Safe travels.

Fiona i hope that all goes well when Amber arrives. Must be hard to be so far away from her dad I am sure, and difficult for you being a step mum but you will do great I am sure. Hope that little Sammy starts sleeping more for you, perhaps Chrace needs to spend a little time with a couple of the bubs, I am really lucky with him and his sleeping during both the day and night, but feel for all of you having difficulties (wasnt saying I was lucky to rub it in or anything though) Hope that the storm wasnt too bad your end, was quite mild here, we just enjoyed watching the lightning, and that was about as much as we got. Yay on Sams weight gain and his pic is just gorgeous! Really need to pull my finger out and learn all about this photobucket thing.

Yay on breastfeeding for 12 weeks Sheree! What an achievement...keep going you good thing you!

Congrats on 3 months Deeky!

Anyways had a lovely weekend, after our flop of an anniversary friday we had a bunch of sorting in our wardrobe to do on saturday and then a friends daughters 2nd birthday party, which the kiddies had so much fun at, then early dinner, got the boys off to bed and hung out with tahli watching funniest home videos(my thing with her we do on a saturday night) then she had her first camping trip outside in the backyard with daddy, so I got the bed all to myself!! Yesterday I had a lovely morning at the caboolture markets with my nanna who is up from NSW and my mum and then they came back to our place and we hung out for a bit before heading off to a friends place for my BIL's 31st birthday party! And that was lovely for all of us, us getting to chat and spend time with friends and the kiddies got to do the same and run a muck, the only dampener was that James' gran passed away yesterday so now all the arrangements are being made for the funeral in Tassie so we will have to make flights etc soon, hoping he might take Landon with him so I only have 2 littlies to worry about. But it was a blessing, we had been hoping she would pass for a while, but is always horrible when it actually happens, and not to make it about money but it just seems as though you get on top of everything financially and then something comes round and throws a curve ball at you! But I wouldnt let him miss it, just one of those things, but not always easy on one income with a mortgage etc...anyways enough of that.
So a busy weekend was had, but off to take missy moo to kindy now, Landon is in a foul mood today, very unlike him I just think he is massively worn out after the big weekend so needless to say he is going straight back to bed when we get home then I had better make the most of both of the boys being asleep and do the lawns before we cant see the garden beds hehehehe, well that is the plan anyways will let you know if it goes that way.
Alright hope everyone had a great day, thinking of you all

Hi All,

Hope everyone had a great weekend, sorry to hear some of you are sick and great to hear that alot of our bub's are making it to 12 weeks already... gee time flies.

Just wondering if anyone has or has had a Phil & Teds Pram. I am looking at getting another pram as the one i have doesn't fit in my boot very well and was looking at getting the phil&teds sport. If anyone wants to tell me pro's & con's that would be great.

Thank you,

Congrats on the 12 weeks of breastfeeding Sheree, awesome work!

Lib: Glad that your tooth removal wasn't as bad ad you thought and you had a lovely time at the wedding. Dont worry about the GPS and getting lost, I got lost using DH's GPS last month :o

Sasha: Glad you had a nice weekend after a shocking anniversary.

Nothing new to report here, DH has applied for 4 jobs this week, hopefully we'll hear from them this week :fingerscrossed: It's my birthday this Sunday, that would be a great birthday pressie for me, DH getting another job and getting out of the one he's in.

Hi Girls, selfish post ahead LOL.

I am hearing those of you on the daytime sleeps. giggley and m2be I am feeling your pain! Missy moo does NOT like to sleep during the day and is nowhere near sleeping through at night either. She does one long stint from 6pm to midnight, then 3ish and 7ish. I have no solutions. M2be... that book on settling can I take a look? I'll PM you my addy :D, little man is a cutie by the way an dhope it goes smoothly with your stepdaughter.

I heard an awful story the other day, appaently at a shopping centre near me a 3 week old baby was snatched out of his pram while the mum was standing next to it!!! She was flicking through clothes in pumpkin patch. The people were caught but they had taken him to the toilets and shaved the baby's head and changed his clothes. The centre locked all the doors (massive centre) and the police wouldn't let anyone out til they found him. Can you imagine the panic that mother would have gone through? This was 18 months ago, apparently it was in all the papers but I don't remember it.

I'm having some... well the sads really. I feel awfully flat all the time, I have gastro at the moment (darn preschoolers and thier bugs) but its more than that, I've lost my mojo ha ha! TMI but we've been married for 9 years and he's hardly ever had to even ask to DTD but now.... I even pretended to be asleep the other night! And its not him, he's wonderful and would never complain but I'm starting to worry :o. I'm BFing and haven't before, does that affect your hormones in that way???

HRJ - I love tupperware, brings out my obsessive compulsive side! Good luck, and congrats on the EBM, its a good feeling hey?

snapcp - You are so brave I hate the dentist!

Sasha - what's with your "friend"?? I'd ike to know how to lock my page too, I do worry about my gorgeous kiddies pics. Our anniversary this year is gonna be a wash out this year too,I can feel it! Sorry to hear about the funeral, its hard to have to think of money at times like that but its reality isn't it?

Shell - glad the court case went as well as it could.

sorry to those I missed... think I'm gonna :barf:again............

Shell - Glad the court case went ok...good luck for the next one too.

Sasha - Sorry to hear about the death in your family...horrible stuff.

Jane - Good luck with the Tupperware, it always goes down well.

Beth - Happy Birthday and good luck with DH's job hunting.

Badgersmum - OMG! A baby snatched from a pram...how devastating for the mother and to shave his head etc etc...there are some desperate people around!

Well DH got his new car today after lots of discussion with the bank. Apparently they couldn't take my income into account because I'm on family leave, therfore DH's income has to cover the mortgage and car payments. They wouldn't even hear that I'm going back to work in Dec! Anyway...all sorted and he's thrilled. It's a very sexy VZ SS Crewman, with a backseat for Bridie! We have to get another carseat tomorrow so we can all actually go for a ride in it. DH has gone to work so I got to sit in it for about 5 seconds!

Other than that, all is well, Bridie (touchwood) has been sleeping from about 10pm thru til 6am for a week or so now...:fingerscrossed: it continues. She was buggered this arvo after going to the city to the bank and taking more than an hour to get back on the Monash Freeway in the pouring rain.

My uncle (with the heart attack) went home yesterday and seems to be ok, hopefully he'll take it easy and get a bit healthier. I'm going up to visit my parents this weekend, think I'll travel during the AFL grand final, so not interested and the roads will be deserted! YAY!

Mum's group again tomorrow, should be good, anyone else going to one of these? I went to the psychologist for the last time today too...hopefully no more anxiety attacks for me! Feeling good!

Catch you all soon. XXX

Mel - we have a Ssangyong like the Holden Crewman and it is such an awesome car.

I did read everyone's posts, now i can't remember! I am really starting to struggle having two children and our business lately. It really is like having 3 babies. Lachlan has been waking every 2 hours every night lately with his ears and we can't get into see a specialist until November.

Riley thankgod is sleeping through which is heaven but he really is hard to amuse thru the day as he does get cranky and irritable alot! I constantly fight with him to have a sleep. He is just so hard to get to sleep, it is ridiculous. No wonder he sleeps all night!!!

He really loves the bath, we give him a nice long deep bath for atleast 1/2 hour. But he is so tired when he gets out he is hard to massage and dress, he is just sooo over it! Anyone's else's babies really upset after a bath?

He did a huge vomit this morning. First and only thank god. Brought back terrible memories from when Lachlan use to profusely vomit like that, that he was admitted into hospital over a 2mth period. It was like a tap you couldn't turn off (it just kept gushing out), when he was 5mths old (at the time he was being tube fed). Scared the hell out of me his vomit this morning..... ohhh boy I sooo don't want to go there again.

We have just fought with Riley for the past 1.5 hours to go to sleep. I was feeding him for an hour prior to that! So 2.5 hours to go to sleep. Gosh he is a hard nut to crack, but once down he is def down for the count.

Well best get back into this paperwork for our Newsagency. I am struggeling to keep up these days that Wade is going to hire our Juniors over the school holidays so he can come home and look after the boys, so I can get ontop of things again. Sick of chasing my tail though. There is so much to do and I just don't get time through the day. Lachlan is cutting out day sleeps and Riley just won't go to sleep! Agggh the joys of parenthood.......

Sorry I did read everyone's posts, love to you all.

I think it does  Maybe also because the baby is so physically dependant on you. Sometimes it feels like you just don't want anyone else touching you for a while :o I don't really like DH touching my breasts while I am breastfeeding either. Don't be too hard on yourself :hugs:

I hope the gastro doesn't last long :)

Libby - Love the pictures - very cute!!

Jane - GL with your party - I'm sure you'll have a ball.

Well, as for the sleep thing, I've still got a battle on my hands. Although last night (from 4.30pm - 5.30am) he had 10 hrs - just in 4 stretches. Not too bad, 2 lots of 4hrs made me feel a bit better this morning. He's due to wake now (stirring) after a 1hr sleep and has already had a 1/2hr nap earlier. So, I guess you could say things are improving.

Hope you all are enjoying the warmer weather! :sunshine:

Gosh I generally haven't got my child to have any sleep up until 12pm and if I do, it is a 10min catnap. So atleast ur getting sum sleep out of him thru the day. I wish I did, just to get something done. I am lucky however that he sleeps thru. Give your man some time and he will too.

I am a little stressed at the moment. I went to get Ariel weighed and measured today. She has only put on 450g in 7 weeks. The nurse thinks its partly because she isnt sleeping during the day. Ariel isnt feeding too well either, but I think thats because she is overtired and doesnt want to eat. Its hard because she wants to sleep, but its like she cant. I really dont know what to do. Is it too early to do the controlled crying? She is 10.5 weeks.

Giggley - Controlled settling is what is often used at this age, it's worked for Bridie, she's a pretty good sleeper. Here are the steps, but every MCHN has been keen on telling us this.

* Look for tired signs (for Bridie it's usually yawning and or whinging)
* Wrap bub up or whatever you usually do for sleeping.
* Pop them in bed and settle, perhaps with a dummy if you want, but make sure you put your baby in bed awake, or at least semi awake.
* Leave the room with a special saying (eg: I leave Bridie by saying 'Goodnight beautiful girl')
* Leave the room, but go straight back and re-settle if bub cries. Don't pick bub up unless they are really inconsolable. I find I generally only have to replace the dummy. Pat or stroke or ssshhhhh baby to re-settle.
* Keep doing this until they finally fall asleep, but only give it about 1/2 hour.
* If after 1/2 hour they're still awake and screaming, get them up, have a 10-15 minute play and try to get them to sleep again.

This generally works for me! Hope it's helpful.
Controlled crying is a more structured process for babies over 6 months old, this is a bit more gentle I think.
