Jackie - Congrats on the scan and seeing your little bubba. It must have been pretty scary in that wait between the 2 scans.
:yelclap: to your dp too. I wish mine was as giving...hardly had any sleep ins this pregnancy.

Beck - Not sure what it means. I go and see the diabetic educator next Wed and have an OB appointment on Thurs morning. A mum from school has the same OB as me, and she had GD with her 3rd (that was born last week). He induced her at 38 weeks. I'm not sure if it was diet controlled or she had to inject herself with insulin. But 38 weeks for me is the 4th of Nov (Melb Cup Day), so he would probably induce me on the 5th and Lara's b'day is on the 6th. So it is quite possible that I could be in hospital for Lara's 2nd b'day :crying: I guess I just have to wait until next week to see what my OB has planned for me. I've got a feeling he'll want to induce early, because he's already commented on the size of the baby.

Georgia - Obviously no bub yet, because I can see the green dot next to your name is on. Good luck again...

Well I am procrastinating. I really should be planning my Maths lesson for tomorrow. I've got half of it planned, but can't be a$$ed at the moment. I better get a move on though, because Eloise has a swimming lesson at 5pm and then we're heading in to the hospital and then we're off to my brother's place to see him for his b'day (it was his 30th on Tues, but the poor guy was too sick to see anyone). Take care...I'm off to plan a Maths lesson (any ideas for a lesson on 3D shapes for preps?)

yeh the week wait was a little stressful....but all is well :) very excited.

Let us know what you have to do sare with the GD? and what are the causes? is it purely just a thing that some women get or due to lack/too much of something?

Will do...one thing my OB said when he called, was reassure me that it was nothing that I had done, it was just something that happened to some women.

Georgia - labour vibes to you! Any time now :smiliedance:
Sad news about your nephew but hope its one of the milder cases.
Congrats for the award though!

I don't snore. I snuffle. And occasionally giggle. So does Abbey. My brother is 25 and still laughs and has conversations in his sleep.

Sal - tell me about this bag collection you have - are they fancy pantsy designer bags or just ones you saw and liked? People thought I was mental about shoes but I only had 30 pair or so, I fall out of love with them so fast. Now I just bum around in sandals and sneakers, ever the stylish woman.
Great news about your ttc plans, you'll succeed in no time!

I'm having issues with my ttc-ing, had 2 attempts and 2 failed implantations. I thought since I'd made an Abbey my body would have worked it out and not do that anymore. Still, I'll get there by sheer determination if I have to!

Sare - bummer about the GD. You weren't craving the bad foods anymore were you?

Jackie - glad the scan showed the good stuff. Been trying the various remedies?

Bec - they are at the dreaming and imagining stage, I'm not looking forward to the start of her fears though. She will want me to check under the bed and that scares me!

Nothing much going on here, just the usual play routine. Abbey has decided she's big enough to get her own food out of the cupboard and smashed a sauce bottle all over the floor and clean washing basket, and she's big enough to put dvds on, including swapping the AV cables. For some reason mummy disagrees.

She's such a comic dill. She keeps fake sneezing and coughing and repeating the last word of my sentences just to try them out. I ask her what she wants to do, expecting her to say painting or play, but she says things like 'go home' (where granddad and didi went) and 'go shop'.

Birthdays are sneaking up on us. Any plans?

 everyone,

Long time between posts from me, I know. I am reading, just don't always have time to post back!

Jackie - Jarvis absolutely loves wearing boots. Boots of all kinds - gumboots, his blundstones, daddy's blundstones, you leave the boots out, he's got them on!

Michelle - ARGH with the whole pantry scenario!! Jarvis has just today smashed a whole jar of honey of my freshly mopped kitchen floor! Not happy! Sorry to hear of your TTC attempts thus far. I'm crossing fingers and toes that all goes to plan the next time. Jarvis has also been repeating me on the phone..it's driving me insane, lol. You know when you are agreeing with the person on the other end. you know, yeah, oh, and so forth. Well, he's copying that! I've started having to remain silent and offer no comment at all, as I'm sick of hearing it being repeated back to me, lol.

Sare - Well, I'm waiting!! I know you were having your ultrasound today *stands here tapping foot on the floor* Hope you loved seeing your little one again....do you think there is any resemblance to the girls? Those chubby cheeks??

Things have been so flat out here over the past few weeks. I've started hiring a cleaner to come in a couple of times a week, so that's going to be great. It will give me more time to spend with the children and will hopefully help with their always erratic behaviour.
Jarvis is really starting to try new words now. I knew the day would come, I guess I didn't think it would be this late though. There are still plenty of times when he is just whinging about stuff, and I usually have no idea what, but he'll either end up showing me, or the boys can somehow understand him, lol. He has taken to the potty quite well too - for my Mum anyway! He does poos and wees on the potty for her, but hasn't yet showed off his talents when I sit him there. I don't know if I really have the time or patience at the moment anyway. I think I'll be TTing him when I'm ready, not when he's ready, lol.

Monet - can you believe she will be 11 weeks on Monday?? OMG, and I thought the pregnancy went fast!! She's doing wonderfully. I can't believe how much she has grown, and how many of her clothes she has already grown out of. I should have known better, being my 4th, not to buy too much little stuff. I lashed out though, as I was getting a pink one :p

I started lite n easy a couple of weeks back. I've only done it for that 1 week so far, as I was too late to order the 2nd week, and I decided I wouldn't order this week. I lost 1.6 kilos in the first week of doing it, and have since lost 3.3 kilos in a fortnight, just doing what I did last time. I'm stoked, but I just want all the weight off now! I've only got size 10 clothes here, and really don't want to buying bigger sizes as I know I won't be needing them. So, I'll just be wearing my maternity clothes for a little longer I think.

What's everyone doing for Father's day? As DH is not going to be here, I'm going out for lunch with my Dad. Leaving the boys at home with Mum :smiliedance:, and will have a nice peaceful lunch. Hope they have good cake, lol.

Enough rambling from me. Oh, before I go, Good luck Georgia if I don't see you on the forum before having your little one. Hope all goes well!

Have a great weekend, Sarah

Hi chicks
Sarah - I was wondering how you were going :wave:I'm glad that Monet is being a little angel and wow, 11 weeks, that has gone quickly. Must be about time you got knocked up Supermum ;) Well done on oyur weightloss though, I can't wait to get bck into my 10's either though will be a few months with the 25 kgs i've put on.
Sare - helllooooooo?!?!?! wellllll?!?

Well, yes, i'm now overdue again :crying: I've had 2 false starts and lots of pre-labour but i really did expect to have my baby by now. Unfortunately, not much else to report sorry!

Hi girls,

Hope you and your families have had a happy Father's Day.

Well, we had our 3d/4d scan earlier today and it was great. We found out what we are having, but we're keeping it a surprise in case any family or friends happened to stumble across it (I know for sure there's a mum from school who recognised me on here...but we've both agreed that what is said on bubhub, stays on bubhub). The baby was so cute, big chubby cheeks and a cute little pout. I will see if I can get some screen shots from the dvd and change my avatar. We don't get the official photos for another week. The only downside was that we found out that the baby has turned again and is breech. Still, there's time for it to move back head down.

I feel like we are finally getting organised for this baby. We picked up the pram today. I sorted through all the 000 clothes and just need to put them away in the baby's room. I might start thinking about packing the baby's bag for hospital soon too.

Georgia - You poor thing. How far over did you go with Sophia?

Sarah - I can't believe that Monet is 11 weeks already. It really doesn't seem like that long ago. Lucky you with the cleaner...but if anyone deserves it, I think you do. I had to laugh at Georgia's comment about time for you to be UTD again.

Jackie - lol...I knew what you meant.

Better go and deal with my . They are driving me nuts at the moment.

Georgia - You poor thing. How far over did you go with Sophia?

It was either 6 days, 10 days or 14 days, depending on which scan you go by but my cervix was long, hard and closed even when they induced me so I could've gone even longer. I have had a lot of pre-labour this time so I feel a lot more confidence about my vbac  I just have to remind myself it's not such a big deal, plenty of women have baby's come out of their vaginas! It's quite easy to blow the whole vbac thing out of proportion.

PMSL I know what you mean, it just gives me strange visuals...like they just pop out and wave to their friends.

Hope to hear you've gone into real labour soon, you must be well and truly over it - at least its not hot weather to make you extra uncomfortable

Kids have strange ways of soothing themselves don't they? Abbey has always found it soothing to touch and stroke me while she goes to sleep, but lately she's turned a bit obsessive. She insists on touching me while we snuggle, hand down the shirt, on my neck, chest..wherever she can get, and she will seek out a skin imperfection and then dig her nails ever so gently into it, pick pick pick. I pull her hand away and say stop but she just does it again until I move out of reach.

Then she will start running her nails down her cheek, continuing even after she's fallen asleep.

If she's in bed with me she will touch and stroke and pick until I physically restrain her hands, and only then can she fall into a deep sleep. On bad nights like last night she will start touching again after the slightest disturbance.

I'm hoping she will grow out of it really soon. She has all these soft toys that would love to be gouged, but they aren't made of skin, so its not the same.

Oh, and if she is awake enough to notice I'm holding her hands still she will start with the feet. Busy monkey toes take over.

Kids are crazy.

Sare - we will just have to guess based on your conversations. I'm thinking you saw pink which would be lovely.

Did everyone have a good fathers day? Owen came over and played with Abbey for a couple hours, so she was happy. She even got upset when he left!

lol

That mummy gouging sounds nice . Sophia sometimes pats herself to sleep, it is quite sweet to watch and if that doesn't work then she grabs my hand and pats it on her too!

Still pregnant obviously! I have an OB appointment today which you have to do when you go post dates to book my repeat c-section  I'm hoping that will scare this baby out.

Hi All...once again I lost the new thread, and have been thinking everyone was really quiet!!

We had the most lovely weekend here...absolutely flat out at the house (this weekend I learnt how to me a tiler- atleast it didn't involve drilling) and Nedd was a gem...because it was great weather he just rambled all over the place (we have 5 acres- I lost him several times which was cause for slight alarm!) DH was in the shed mostly and I was in the house and he was anywhere between. We also set up the portacot in the walk in pantry so I didn't have to take him home for sleeps- so Nedd is officially the first person to sleep in the new house!

But it was just so lovely to see him having a blast in the sunshine, and exploring the block. I know he is going to have a wonderful childhood getting up to all sorts of adventures in the hidden corners of the property.

He has a cold alas which is making his nights a bit yucky- but during the day he is coping fine. :banghead: Not surprising he came down with it last thursday, after going to swimming Wed night and they had a window open blowing a breeze right into the pool where the littlies where swimming- apparentely it was freezing- not that DH mentioned it to me at the time so I could get them to close it!!

Michelle- re the handbags- the stupid thing is that none of them are that flash- mostly just randoms I have picked up over the years, I am not even that into handbags, which makes it even more embarrassing!!

Bummer bout the TTC so far- I am into month 3 too, and becuase Nedd wasn't even planned I somehow thought it'd happen straight up. But I have followed your advice and stocked up on OPK's so day 12 here and waiting for that eggy!!

DH re-affirmed today that he is really keen to keep ploughing ahead. It was lovely- he just said how happy Nedd makes him, he can't wait ti have two to give him double to joy. :valentine:

Oh and Abbey's settling technique sounds rather similar in its obsessiveness to Nedd's headbanging- :fingerscrossed: for both of us it doesn't last too much longer!

Sare- boohoo for GD, hope it doesn't cause too many problems. And so glad to hear your scan went well- I am still putting money on a boy! Did your scan give you any idea on potential size?

Sarah- Glad to hear J is talking more, you'll be wishing him quiet soon enough, and LOL at the boots- Nedd too, he is obsessed with boots of any kind. I think its because DH wears them.

Jackie- I must say that is cute with Keanu and his red tops, does he know it is Red? Nedd doesn't really have any weird obsessions, except for having socks on- they must be on at all times....going to be a problem come summer I'd say!

Georgia- Dying to hear some baby news....He'll come when he is ready, and you are going to be amazing with your VBAC, I just know you will do brilliantly!! :hugs:

OK, best be off get organised, Dad is coming to watch Nedd whilst I go talk to solicitors about this business....thats going to set us back a small fortune just getting it assessed by them- so hopefully they tell me what a great idea it is and how many millions it will make me!!

Take care all

i am feeling exhausted! keanu is great, beahving well...no dramas really! can't complain.

we got a new mattress today...much needed. can't wait til it is delivered.

Sal - we conceived in our 3rd month....keanu wasn't planned either, so i went in thinking the same thing....just be patient. i know it is hard, but it will happen!! :hugs:

and yeh i think he knows it is red.....i mean i dont know what else attracts him to the red tops (he has a few.....and it is always the red ones he asks for) again he was outside and came running in babbling to me, i went out and said what do you want...he went to the closeline, and pointed at the red top...while trying to get off his top as fast as possible. hilarious! cheeky!

Feeling sooo fat/bloated...must be cos it is number 2. I am 8wks2days and already put on 2kg :o doc said it was most likely just bloating...!

anyways am off to bed, sorry for lack of personals.

Too Cute!! :goodvibes:

Nedd was super cute tonight...as he has a cold I have been rubbing his chest and back with vicks- he loves it (you should see him melt when we rub his back, he is constantly coming asking to 'rub back'), anyway he wanted 'cream' on his 'bella' (belly) tonight, so I said he had to get into his PJ's to get cream on, so he toddles off and comes back with a nappy (got the right one too-cloth) and I told him he needed to get his PJ's...so he runs up to his room, but wouldn't let me come too- pushed me back into the lounge and kept turning round to check I wasn't moving...when I tried to follow him he was 'no mumma stay there', like he was a big boy who could do it all on his own, and you know he found his PJ's too!!! (Alas he also pulled almost everything else out of his drawers too) but I was very impressed....so I have now found a new way of getting him into his PJ's- he was dressed ready for bed by 7pm!

He is truly making my heart melt every day at the moment....if only he would actually shut up for 5mins though!! Talk about chatter....he has found his words and he just doesn't stop. Has also learnt to sing- la la la in the car as loud as can be- 'mumma la too, mumma la too!' so we have to sing along together...bye bye radio! :D

Abbey hasn't asserted her clothing independence yet, but is really good at pattern recognition on what we are wearing. She knows stripes, spots, hearts, stars, circles, squares, triangles...and says them all in an adorable babyish pronunciation.
Oh, she's got a whole bunch of colours down too, her favourite is 'yah-woh'.

She has started requesting that we match clothing, today we are both wearing stripes, so I'm thinking clothing independence is just around the corner.

Her most common phrases show me what a sucker I am though. I can't tell you how many times a day she says "i'll get it" (yanking me in the direction of what she wants), "alrighty" (as she helps herself), and "here you go" (as she takes my treasures). Apparently that's what mummy says most!

Sal - what a big boy Nedd is telling you to stay put. I get dragged down there to turn the light on even if it isn't that dark. Such a mummy's girl. Can Nedd reach all his drawers? Abbey's are in a big tallboy (bolted to the wall) so I expect all she could grab are jumpers and pillowcases. BUT, since I'm slack at housework she knows to just tip over the washing basket instead.

Do you have any pics of the property you can show us? And of Nedd exploring?

Jackie - you'll be in the energized part soon enough, and any weight gain during pregnancy doesn't count, so don't worry about that. Better yet, stop weighing yourself!
mmm a new mattress - on my wish list. One without dents would be marvellous!

Georgia - Did the scare work? C'mon baby, we want to meet you!

The only clothing that Lara asserts herself over is her Dorothy PJs, luckily she has 3 different pairs of them. She also hates having a jacket/cardigan put on.

She has worked out what a band-aid is, and being a house of girls (poor dh) we have Disney Princess band-aids. I had to put some on Eloise yesterday because her shoes were rubbing, well the commotion because Eloise had one and Miss Lara didn't was amazing. It wasn't worth the tantrum, so I put one on her wrist. I swear she looks at it every half an hour and says Pinkerpell band-aid (because all Disney Princesses are Tinkerbell to Lara )

Michelle - Abbey sounds like a clever little poppet. The main things that Lara labels regularly are TV characters (bad mummy here...I'll admit to using my tv for some quiet time. In fact I'm doing it right now).

Sal - How clever is Nedd. Those moments are so special and you wish that you had them on video so you could remember them forever.
:fingerscrossed: that it's 3rd time lucky for you guys this month.
The scan we had on Sunday was by Early Image (you know the ones that you don't need a drs referral for and all they do is try to give you the best shots of the baby, so no measurements). I have an appointment with the diabetes nurse tomorrow and then my OB on Thurs, so I'll have a better idea of what's going to happen then.

Jackie - That's so cute Keanu pointing to the red top on the line and then attempting to strip off. They grow up so fast, don't they?

Georgia - Hopefully you've met your little man now. All that pre-labour must mean that its all imminent.

Nothing else happening here...we're off to the hospital again to see my Grandma. Other than that I really need to do some housework, but the more work I do, the more swollen my ankles get, so dh has told me to take it easy. Well I only needed to be told that the once :D Might go and have a look on ebay.

:smiliedance: :goodvibes: CONGRATULATIONS GEORGIA.
CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ALL ABOUT YOUR GORGEOUS LITTLE MAN. DYING TO KNOW WHAT NAME YOU ENDED UP CHOOSING. :goodvibes: :smiliedance:

Sal - you'd better hurry up and get a new internet connection...we'd miss you if you were away for too long. I hope everything goes smoothly finishing up work.

Well I had my appointment today and it was much better than I expected. No weighing :smiliedance: so I still have no idea how much weight I have put on. I have modified my diet since I found out I have GD, so the nurse was really happy with what I have been eating and even said that I could have a few treats (well low fat ice cream and snack right biscuits...I can live with those). I have to take my blood sugar level 3x a day (2hrs after meals) and email her with my results weekly or if I have 3 readings above 7 in a week. All being well I won't need to see her again :fingerscrossed: She did talk about my OB being conservative (which I knew already) so he won't let me go past my due date. That means I now have less than 10 weeks to go.

I have an appointment with my OB tomorrow morning. dh has taken the morning off work to take Eloise to an excursion to the fire station for kinder tomorrow, while I am at the Obs. She is so excited, it's practically all I have heard about today...well that and her upcoming birthday party.

Hope everyone is well...

10-09-2008, 21:49
have you set up the nursery?

Nope...Lara's still in there. We have her bed all set up in Eloise's room and have moved all her clothes in there too (so I really should call it the girl's room). She just doesn't want to give up her cot yet. Why doesn't that surprise me considering how difficult she has been at times. It would help if were home for day sleeps, because I could put her in her bed for those, but we've been at the hospital so much visiting Grandma, that's she's getting her day sleeps in her stroller or the car. Hopefully she will be better once everything stops over the school holidays and we can get a few day sleeps in the bed.

We have a cradle, so will probably have the baby in our room for a while if Lara won't go into a bed before the baby arrives.

Hope you get a good night's sleep Jackie... I have to wait up for a load of washing to finish to put in the dryer. :hissy:

Congratulations Georgia on your beautiful little boy!!!

I should be upstairs brushing my teeth, class starts in 20mins (takes me that long to waddle up all the stairs!) but I wanted to pop in & see if there was any news on the baby front!

Will be back for a decent chat next week...DP hasn't hooked up the broadband in the new house while I've been in Melbourne and I doubt it will get done til next week when I'm back and can activate it!

Hi All

Congrats Georgia - Charlie Russell is a gorgeous name!!

Sare - only 10 weeks - that is gong to fly!! I am about 16 now but I am so much bigger than last time so I am a bit worried about how huge I am going to be!!

Sal - Will miss you - take care and look forward to yo ubeing back on soon - wow it went fast to finishing didn't it? Good luck with TTC!

Well Kayley is starting to get independent when putting clothes on. SHe wont necessarily choose them out of the drawers but will refuse to put some things on. Just got her some new summer clothes at target sale in size 3 - she is getting so big!!

What sort of carseats is everyone in at the moment? I was going to get a safe n sound maxi rider or explorer which are convertible booster seats but as Kayley is about 14.5kg am thinging abou tgoing straight to a regular booster with a harness - but I want one that is not just all foam and still has an anchor strap. Target, KMart and Big W in my area don't seem to have a lot so I have to go searching properly.

Our house is going along. Approx 3 - 4 weeks until we are in hopefully!

Well I better run - take care everyone and have a great weekend in the beautiful weather.

Congratulations again Georgia - so exciting!!

 beck, we are going to get the maxi rider, when the next one is here....it goes up to 26kg, and i just think safer than without a 5 point safety harness. but how many kg does the 5 point harness go up to? that would be my decising factor most likely!

:yelclap: CONGRATS GEORGIA ON THE BIRTH OF YOUR LITTLE MAN - CHARLIE RUSSELL :yelclap:

Hope all is going well!!

Beck - We have 2 maxi riders (1 maxi rider 2, and 1 maxi rider) and a Hipod senator. I like the maxi rider and the hipod senator more than the maxi rider 2 as they aren't as bulky as the maxi rider 2. They all still anchor and all have the 5 point harness, so are all still safe. Mack is 5.5 years, and weighs a little over 20kgs, so he will still be in his for a while yet, while Tallan and Jarvis will be too.

Sare - My girlfriend had GD for all of her 3 pregnancies, and was on insulin really early with her 2nd and 3rd. I can only feel your pain through her, but sounds good that you've made the diet adjustments! Hope you're all good!

I'm waiting for little Monet to wake so I can feed her before she goes down for the night. She's such a beautiful little girl, and is so good for her Mummy.
I'm also waiting for DH to bring DS1 home....I'm not happy. He picked him up from Kinder today at 12noon, then took him to his brother's house and I haven't seen him since!! Grrr Men!! Just don't get the whole idea of children being so tired that they're behaviour turns to cr@p!!

Might go and wake DD so I can go to bed.
Have a nice weekend, Sarah

i am debating wether or not to buy a new liner for our basinet. i can get one made to my liking/what i want for $65. so will be unisex...

http://www.babyzonedirect.com.au/catalogue/c1/c172/p2195
we have this one at the moment.

if its a girl tho it wont suit  ..... i would like something unisex....but this is our last bub and i don't know if i can justify $65 when the one on the basinet is like new anyway.....

argh!

Thanks for the info on the Maxi Riders. That is one of the reasons I am looking at other things is that the Maxi Rider 2 is just so big and bulky! I don't know much about the hi-pods but know they are sold at target - seems to be the main decent booster seat range. The explorer is just like the maxi rider without the armrests and cupbolders and is slightly thinner and taller.

Jackie - the 5 point harness is only used until 18kgs. Since Kayley is already getting close to 15 I am not sure whether it is really worth going the conertible option for us! There is a sale starting today on the other side of the city with 20% off all stock so I might go and have a look there. All I know is she is getting too tall for our existing ones so I better do something soon!

Yay the doggies for last night! Good luck to Collingwood (Can't believe I said that Sare)!

We have DH's hockey grand final today and it is already hot!! We went out for breaky and sat outside and I think I am sunburnt!

Well I better run - take care everyone.

Congrats Georgia! Can't wait to hear all about him.

Abbey is having an exceptionally late nap. We were busy during the day and she just fell asleep in the car, and super rare, she stayed asleep during the transfer to bed too. Oh well, guess we will stay up late and have a pyjama party.

Guess what - my baby can fall asleep on her own now, without me in the room. This is a BIG deal for us. We snuggle for 5 minutes or until she gouges me annoyed, then into bed, on with her blanky, a kiss, and I stand with my back to her, next to the door for a few minutes. Then I move to the other side of the door where she can hear me or see my shadow through the crack. I wait for another 5 minutes just in case she's checking on me, then sneak away. The whole thing takes SOOOOOO much less time than it used to.

Car seat - we have the Maxi Rider AHR. Its the MR2 but with an extra padded headrest bit. I like the fact that the headrest can extend higher than the chair back which means she should be protected just that little bit longer. Oh, its also good for car naps. She doesn't use the arm rests or cupholders really, but she will eventually. Or they'll break off...
She's only 13kg so plenty of time before she needs a real harness.

But her latest trick is to take her arms out while I'm driving at high speeds with no emergency stopping lane. First time we drove along a few kms with me telling her to put her arms back in and being ever so displeased, last time she got a big telling off. Either I'm going to have to do her up extra tight so she can't do that, or buy a protector to stop her.

Jackie - maybe hold off on changing the gender of the bassinette until you find out the gender, lol! If you buy all girl stuff now you're bound to have a boy.

Sarah - wonder if Monet will be so genial as a child and adult? Its interesting how they have certain personalities from day 1.

Beck - shopping in size 3 is different isn't it, its all kid clothes now, from the kid sections...sad. I've been buying Abbey size 3 for summer too. Someone told me she was small for a 2 yo today and I had to laugh. Daft woman.

And shoes...oh shoes. Abbey only has one pair of shoes that fit now, and they don't really, they're just open toed so its not child abuse. So we went today to bigw, target and 2 shoe shops. I don't want Dora shoes, I don't want foam or crocs, and I don't want thongs that fall off. The shoes that were functional just didn't fit. She measures a size 8, but flops around in them, size 7 will fit for a very short time only, and they're all heavier and stiffer than her pre-walker ones and she already turns in one foot way too much....darn shoes! I'm going to check one more store on Monday before going to see the clarks fitters. I didn't really want to spend more than $20 on summer sandals, but I don't want to make her foot problem worse either.

Okay, I've ranted enough.

Hi chicks
Home now - thanks for all the congrats, he is the dearest little baby and I am enjoying motherhood second time round so much and am so much more relaxed and happy than first time.
My tum tum is still a bit sore but other than that, i'm all good and having about another c-sect and the labour was pretty full on. I will post a birth story when I have the time to write it.

Hooley dooley Georgia - you're a better woman than I to go through all that with a smile on your face! I was just  at the 'pushing him back up' bit.

Congrats on your lovely result though, what does Sophia think of him?

GeorgiaAnne
16-09-2008, 07:32
Yeah, the pushing back up thing was absolutely, unbelievably appalling. I had no idea that was something that happened. Might've been nicer to wait 'til the anaes. kicked in?
Sophia is in love and is very sweet with him but doesn't really like it when he cries.

Ugh, bleeding nips! I have an LC coming today so hopefully some relief is near. I would've thought a year of bf might've toughened them up but alas!

Hi girls,

Georgia - I replied in your birth story post, but wow. Sorry you didn't get your VBAC, but it sounds like you gave it a mighty good go. I agree with Michelle  on pushing Charlie back up. Charlie sounds like he is an absolute delight. It's so true that you are much more relaxed about things the 2nd time around.

Michelle - Lara's tried the arms out of the carseat thing too. Little monkey. One time we were driving and she managed to stand up in her carseat  Needless to stay we stopped straight away and she got a very stern talking to.

Beck - We have the maxi-rider 2. Eloise is 4 next week and she's still in the 5 point harness. She'll be in it for a few more months and then we'll change over to the H harness. It is bulky, but it's a great seat. She loves the arm rests and the cup holder (to store her little treasures in ... more often than not flower petals and leaves etc )

Well I'm officially a moody cow at the moment...well with my family anyway. The girls are driving me bonkers and for the first time ever I am not speaking to dh (went to bed angry with him and refused to wake up when he left for work this morning). It all started because he hadn't rang me by 6.45pm to tell me that he would be late home after last week when doing the same thing he had promised me that he would ring. Well it esculated and now I am so pi$$ed off with him...I know it's only started as something minor, but he makes my blood boil at times and until he makes a conscientious effort, then he's going to get the silent treatment :banghead: Enough of my rant.

Better go and get the girls ready for their activities. Hope you are all well...

What an absolute delight of a baby boy you have!! So sweet.
I haven't read your story yet, but I'm not liking the sound of pushing him back up....is that not highly dangerous??

Sare - I'm not speaking kindly to my DH at the moment either. Same thing I think, has issues with listening and doing!!

Congrats Georgia again - the pics are gorgeous - he doesn't really look like a newborn - you did very well with your birth - I don't think I would have been that patient! After a bad experience last time I am seriously considering an epi this time.

Pity about the bleeding and sore boobs - not looking forward to that again!

I am home today as Kayley has tonsilitis and a 40degree temperature - she is sooo clingy!

Sare - I went to a baby sale on Sunday and they didn't sell explorers so I have given up looking for them. I have a Maxirider AHR on order as they were out of stock - yes I ende dup going the most expensive but I really liked the head rest and how it could be extended up if Kayley continues to be tall for her age. Also looked a lot more comfortable to sleep in.

I am just going to get a cheaper booster and a harness for DH's car.

Anyway I have to go and deal with my sick little girl! Take care everyone.

I'm sll around. I'm on everyday and pop in here to have a read, but it has been quiet lately.

Georgia - How are you finding life with 2 kidlets? Has your dh got time off work ... can imagine that it would be difficult to with the restaurant.

Sarah - That's great that the boys love Monet. Being a girl, do they treat her any different than they did Jarvis when he was a baby?

Beck - Sorry to hear that Kayley isn't well. 40 deg temps are scary.

Poor little Eloise broke my heart today. Her birthday is in the holidays, so she took cupcakes to kinder this morning. Later, I was asking her all about what happened at kinder and I asked her who she sat with during snack time (when they would have sang happy birthday) and she said that no one wanted to sit with her :crying:. Now I know my little girl is a bit quiet and shy, but it's not like her not to make friends, she'll fairly social. We made the decision a while ago to change kinders next year as we've now decided to send her to Primary school at the school where I work. She is currently at kinder at a 3 y.o - Yr 12 Christian College and a lot of the kids that go there know each other through the Church. In fact I think that we may be one of the few families in the class that don't go to that Church. The kids (and parents) are fairly clicky, and Eloise has really struggled to make friends. She has made one good friend, but she was away today. So next year she's off to the local kinder that is a foetus for the school where she will be going. Hopefully she will find it easier to make friends there. She already has one friend from our Mother's Group in her class, so that is a good start. (and how pathetic am I?...I'm crying as I type this....stupid pregnancy hormones)

What else ...well Lara has another cold. No where near as bad as the last virus she had, but enough to make her (and me) irritable. She's such a show pony, she's spent the afternoon stomping around with her little backpack and one of Eloise's gumboots on, making sure that everyone around her acknowledges her.

Oh and guess what...after tomorrow, I am back on maternity leave again. 2 months to rest and relax (ha ha ha ha ha ha ... as if that's likely with my 2 treasures).

Oh well that's enough from me. I hope everyone is well...

GeorgiaAnne
18-09-2008, 20:30
Awww Sare, I had a lil tear as well - damn, these post partum hormones! I'm sure Eloise will be fine at the new place, oh the things we will worry about as they grow up. It does break your heart though to think of them being sad.
Lara sounds just like Sophia - anything for a reaction, the sillier the better. Her favourite thing atm is using the breast pads as a hat for the bubba. Though she picked up quite a full one tonight and seemed quite appalled!
She is being great and loves helping with nappy change and loves to pat and cuddle Charlie. I think day care has been good in that respect as she does know how to be around bubbas.
DH is working like a dog as we are setting up a new rest. - quite casual, but it's still a lot of work as well as doing my job and his job. He also takes Sophia to and from day care, gets groceries, makes us dinner, bathes Sophia, puts her to bed and the goes back to work, all bc I cant carry Sophia bc of the c-sect. He's a good boy but hasn't had enough time with Charlie which is a bit sad for him but he's such a great dad with Sophia, it is lovely to watch .

Whenever its really quiet in here I wonder if the month changed and I didn't notice it again.

Abbey has only just gone to bed, she went ballistic a few nights ago and had her first vomit inducing tantrum. It was her own fault, she ramped herself up so much all because I wouldn't let her gouge me. Yeah, mean old mummy. So of course, instead of the sympathy she got for puking when she was sick, she got told off and had to stand around while I cleaned up. Sadly, her bed wasn't fit for sleeping and she spent the past 2 nights in my bed.

Since she got a reward last time she decided to try it again tonight. Boy did she get a surprise. Mummy got mad and told her not to dare. Of course I would have cleaned her up and put her in my bed again, but I'm glad she decided it wasn't worth the risk.

Georgia - wow, where do you find men like that? Actually, my brother is the same, but without the new restaurant. Is this your second or third?
Charlie is so cute. Can I borrow him for a few minutes to get a baby fix?

Sare - poor Eloise! I remember kindy, it was full of mean kids for me too. I bet they ate the cupcakes gladly enough! :shame:
Hope Lara gets over her cold without passing it on, and how cute with the boots.
Yay maternity leave!

Sarah - I don't have a pregnancy or another bubba yet, or a job, but darned if I have much time either. No idea where it goes. Maybe Abbey eats it. It powers her tantrums.

sare - awww makes me want to :crying: as well, that is so sad, and you are allowed to feel sad and have a cry, she is your baby!!!

i was talking to DP about the bullying/and just nastienest in general that goes on at school.....it's amazing what kids can do!!!!

i didn't have it too bad at school, but a lot of the girls always thut they were better than me (mainly cos they were well off)...but looking back now i know they aren't...and the sad thing is they are still like it...and for me i couldn't care a less about them ;) ...

off track lol..hopefully the new kindy will be a little more easier, and i am sure she will make friends. and it will be good since the kids will be going to the same school type thing.

we are well, have had some light bleeding so was a little worried as this is the 3rd time in 3 weeks. Ultrasound showed all is healthy and bub has a heart rate of 154bpm!! no inidcation of why i have had light bleeding, but he said all seems well and healthy - so now i can relax...no more bleeding either which is great. it seems to come and go type thing....and is only light thankgoodness. but yes all is well and i am 10 (basically) weeks, how time has flown. we are going to start on the nursery at 20 weeks.

we have 2 names picked already :D

Phoenix Jordan

Anastasia Rose
(i have a mum in another thread with a bub keanus age with that name - weird thing is DP chose Anastasia, and i chose Rose....then it clicked...oh well, we love the name so are sticking with it)...and the mum said to go for it, its a beautiful name!

so that is all sorted, nice and early. name picking for us is almost impossible. lucky keanu was named ha ha...DP finds it soooo hard to agree/like a name....especially boys names!!

keanu has been FANTASTIC...he always is tho, but he has been a delight...no dramas. i have taken to putting his drink bottle and 2 dummies on a table beside his bed so he can help himself, and it has worked a treat as he can help himself and self settle without my sleep being broken....he has been wonderful!! :)

It's been busy in here today...

Well I'm back on maternity leave again and for working only a day a week I got really spoilt. Morning tea and a gift certificate for a facial from the staff. Choccies (for the hospital bag seeing I can't eat them now), stuff from Dusk and a trinket box from the kids and from the teacher that I work with I got some Innoxa stuff bath foam and lotions for in hospital and some more for when I am at home and a book, teething ring and an all-in-one suit for the baby.

Thanks for the support re Eloise. She hasn't been bullied, she just hasn't made any real friends. I think it hurt me more, because I know what the kids at school are like, anytime someone has a birthday everyone wants to play with them. Anyway, I truly think she will be better off where we will send her next year.

Michelle - at the self-induced vomitting tantrums. Yuck!!! I though Lara was bad with her headbutting tantrums, don't think I could handle the vomit.

Georgia - LOL at Sophia's uses for a breast pad. At least they give us lots of laughs.
Your dh sounds like a great support. I hope the 2nd restaurant goes well for you guys.
Charlie sounds divine...hopefully #3 for us will be like him, I don't think I could handle another Lara (as much as I adore her, she is hard work)

Jackie - Sorry to hear that you are having issues with bleeding...I can't imagine how stressful that must be for you. 10 weeks already....that time has flown.

Nothing else really happening...I've asked dh to take the girls to the movies tomorrow to see Wall-E as I am desperately in need of some rest time. We'll see how the day pans out and if not this weekend, then maybe next.

Hope everyone has a great weekend :flowerz:

It's relieving to know a lot of it is just "temperament" I always thought it was something I had done that had made Sophia such a handful but she truly has been like this from day 1. Like you say, love 'em to bits but very hard work.

Abbey dressed herself tonight. First was the wrapper from my panty liner smushed onto her hoohoo, then came a sheet draped over her shoulder, and a pillowcase on her head. I asked why she was wearing a sheet, she heard 'sheep' and started baa-ing, running down the hall with the sheet trailing behind her.

Somehow, I don't think she's ready to dress herself for public viewing!

Sare - I'm not sure I could follow the diet, even under doctor orders, so hats off to you. Do you have to do a daily finger prick test?

Totally over the moon!! They have to do it. If they don't, it's a waste of a terrific season!! Shattered though, that once again DH will be heading off to the Grand Final and leaving all of us behind!!

I've had some huge news this week. It would seem that my Mum has suffered a heart attack  She asked to be sent for tests recently as she has been feeling pretty cr@ppy health wise. Turns out the results show it was that! She remembers very clearly feeling so unwell one day that she thought was going to die. She put it down to severe indigestion as she wasn't suffering any other tell tale signs of it being anything else. She continued to work, left there, drove herself to her other job, and proceeded to work there for another 5 hours, all whilst having this heart attack  We were, and still are, in total shock! She's just waiting on an appoinment to be made with a cardiologist so as we can find out how bad it was and what needs to happen next. All a bit scary - nothing is emant to happen to us, we only hear about it happening to others, you know?

Some exciting news too! I've been very busy house hunting of late, and I may have just found the ONE! DH is comign home from QLD early this week, so I'm taking him to inspect tomorrow - I've already been through twice, yesterday and today! I'd love to put in an offer, but there's another place DH wants to look at, which is also lovely but just too small I think compared to the other. Only thing is, we haven't yet got pre approval for finance as we didn't think we'd be finding something so soon... So, we can put in an offer 'subject to finance', but it still doesn't guarantee us the house as someone can come along with finance already to go, and sweep it from under us. It's all just giving me one big headache!! Let's hope DH likes it as much as I do!

Oh, and guess what?? My little J man has started using the potty!! He'll do wees and poos on the potty, and gets so very excited about what he's done. It's so cute. We probably make more fuss about it than we should actually, lol. He calls wees, woos, and cracks a major tanty if I try and take him away from the potty before he's done woos, lol.

My adorable little DD is still just totally amazing! She's just got to be the bestest behaved baby in the whole world :cloud9: So so sweet!

The boys are crazy boys at the moment. I don't know if I'm looking forward to the next fortnight with them both at home everyday....may have to set the place up like Kinder I think!!

That's probably all the goss I have at the moment. I can't believe I've been able to sit here for this long, with no interruptions at all!! Happens very rarely these days, lol

Hope all is good with everyone

Michelle - lol at Abbey dressing herself. Lara's more of the strip off type of child :hair: I love how she ran around baa-ing. She sounds like such a charater.

Sarah - :hugs: I hope your mum is ok. It must have been a terrible shock to you all.
:fingerscrossed: for you with the house.
:yelclap: to Jarvis for using the potty. Lara's shown no interest in the toilet, well except for flushing it repeatedly.

A quiet week of baking and cleaning this week for us. It's Eloise's b'day on Saturday, and her party on Fri, silly me decided to have it at home, which means a bit of work, but she'll have a ball. She's having a fairytale party (she's dressing up as Giselle from Enchanted) and we're having a princess (chn's entertainer) come and do storytelling, dancing and face painting with the kids. The only other thing I have planned is a shopping trip with mum to do some Christmas shopping.

 yep the spotting has stopped....it is only now and then, but yeh still worrisome. but the scan showed a wonderfully happy and healthy bubba!!

Michelle - hilarious about Abbey dressing herself....made me laugh!!

Sarah - hope your mum is ok. can imagine the shock...she sounds like a trooper!

AND WOW to Jarvis using the potty, that is awesum....:yelclap: keanu sits on it but not interested to sit on it for a long enuf period to even contemplate a wee let alone a pooh....i actually might try attaching the seat to toilet (the seat comes off the potty and attached to the toilet)....see if that interests him. The ONLY thing he is interested in is un reeling the toilet paper

sare - the b'day party sounds like fun!!
i'm already thinking about keanus 2nd birhday....this year for keanus birthday we are going to have it at the park, a sausage sizzle, some nibbles and a cake..keep it simple lol....but can imagine as he gets older he'll want the whole theme thing...mind you it is fun and great to watch them have a ball...which i am sure she will. Sounds awesum!!! can i come? :p

well i plan on having an early night tonight.... we'll see about that that.

Hi ladies

Its been a while since I posted but I am definitley up to date with all the posts.

All is well here, although 2 weeks ago we did have a horrible scare with Darcy, which all turned out fine in the end, Thank goodness:)
Dont think I have ever been so scared in my whole life.

Speaking of my little angel. Darcy has been so wonderful. She was having problems with constipation in the last few weeks which was pretty awful, but it seems we have that sorted without medication which is great.
Her speech is getting better too and I just love having little mixed up conversations with her.
She also has a wicked sense of humor which is really starting to show. I just love it.

The house is coming along nicely, the painting is almost complete and the tiling is starting this week. The verandah is also getting done. so it all looks on track and its hopefully only 2 months away from being finished.

Work is well....work
Sorry for the lack of personals. I hope everyone had a terrific weekend.
Kisses to all toddlers, newborns and bumps!!

Hi chicks
Mary-Anne - Good to hear from you, that's exciting about your house - just in time for Christmas :)
Jac - Glad all is well with your bubba, it must be scary having a bleed :hugs:
Sare - That party sounds like fun, Eloise must be so excited!
Sarah :hugs: for your mum, that is so scary. I hope that it all stays ok for her, she must be a bit of a trooper.

All is well here, we had a lovely weekend with lots of nice outings and I am nearly pain free which is great - I even shaved my legs y'day which I couldn't do the last few weeks of pg :o

Hello everyone!

Wow I have been thinking about you girls heaps, waiting to get some net time! Well first I was packing to move, then I was away for a week, then when I came back stupid Bigpond took a week to reconnect me, plus I am flat stick at work until the 9th November so I haven't been on here at all (and feel like I'm going crazy without my net time!

But now I'm reconnected at home and have set up a housework routine that allows me half an hour every day of net time, phew. Of course I'm sneaking on here for 10mins of my lunch hour at work now:o

Georgia - wow you sound like a supermummy, feeling good, even defoliating :D glad it's all going good for you. Thanks for missing me - I wondered if anyone would!

Mary-ann, sorry to hear you had a big Darcy scare, sounds awful even without details! Glad the house is coming along though. Must be very exciting.

Jac, so glad the bleeding has stopped! Keanu is just like Ella for TT - she's lucky if her butt hits the toilet long enough for contact, let alone a wee. I'll think about it more in summer when she can run round with no pants on. re birthdays - Ella will have a cake at daycare but that's pretty much it. I wanted to have a mum's group get together for her but DP is against it for some reason??

Sare - I'm sure all Eloise will remember will be the princess party. Poor little chicken, I got teary for her too reading your post!

Sarah - yay you've given me a team to cheer for! I love footy finals, regardless of code or teams :D bring on the beefcake.

Michelle - Lol at Abbey's dressing style, how funny! Sorry to hear the TTC is not going to well, big :fingerscrossed: for your next go.

Hi Rian!!

Whoops that had better do, got some errands to run (hope I can fit some actual eating into my "lunch"!)

Hi girls,

Glad to see you back Bec...I missed you too. It's been mighty quiet and without you and Sal, even more so.
How's life in your new house?

Rian - Lara's like that too. She lashes out when she doesn't get her own way. We've started getting a bit tougher with her and using time out a bit. #3 is definitely our last.

Georgia - I know what you mean about not being able to shave your legs late in pregnancy...it took me a while yesterday and I have a few cuts to mark the event. So glad most of my pregnancy has been in winter :p

Mary-Anne - Sorry to hear that you had a scare with Darcy. Great news about your house. It sounds like you'll be moving in around the time I have the baby.

Jackie - Keanu's party sounds good too. I've been thinking about what to do about Lara (although I can't really set anything in concrete, because her b'day is only a week and a half before the baby is due and I'm likely to be induced a little early ) I think we're just going to invite my g/f and her 3 kids to our local play centre and I'll buy them party food there and then come home and do cake. We'll do something low key with our families too, just not sure what.

Well the Christmas shopping trip was a fizzer...all I came home with was a pain in my pelvis :hissy: I need to write a list and get myself organised.

How's this for pregnancy brain?...I was tslking to dh last night about what week I was and we both thought I was 33 wks. Well stupid me looked at my calendar this morning and I'm only 32 weeks. It goes to show how much more relaxed you are in subsequent pregnancies...dh could tell me how many days I had to go when I was pg with Eloise and now we can't even get the weeks right. :o

Well better get back to my house cleaning...today it's the toilets, bathrooms and study...FUN

GeorgiaAnne
25-09-2008, 12:31
Sare - IKWYM about the weeks thing, if I didn't have the ticker thing, I wouldn't have had a clue! Hope your party planning is going well.
Bec - Welcome back! Are you in your new house now? How's it going?

All is well here, just having lots of quiet days at home with my sweet little bubba I'm really trying to enjoy it as with Sophia I was always looking forward to the next stage rather than enjoying the now YK? He seems to have a tongue tie so we're off to the GP this arvo as I think it may be causing our bf problems, still painful and he "falls off" all the time.

Hope you're all well!:)

Aaaaaghhhh...Eloise is driving me insane. I have totally had it with her today. I swear she is like Jeckell and Hyde, she can be an angel one minute and the next I am absolutely mortified by the attitude that comes from her :hair:

Georgia - Sorry to hear that Charlie has a tongue tie. You're so right about being able to enjoy it more the 2nd time around. I still think of Lara as my baby.

Procrastination must end...I'm off to wash the dishes and do some cake decorating...wish me luck :fingerscrossed:

Haha Sare, I think that Jekyll & Hyde thing is called SELF PRESERVATION, as they know if they were like that all the time there'd be no cuddles and love from Mummy anymore! Ella always seems to know just how far to push it... I guess they call it the Terrible Twos for a reason hey?

Yep in the new house now, typing next to our big feature window which looks out onto the rocky terraced patio/garden thing. This is my favourite room actually, somehow the retro green bamboo wallpaper isn't as annoying as I thought it would be (the brown paisley in the loungeroom is still wince inducing though )

Whoops Ella's brought me a pooey nappy! Bye!

26-09-2008, 08:05
Bec - yay on the new house! When will you redo the walls to something you like better?

Sare - does she laugh maniacally while being evil? That's a sure sign of dual personality, just make sure she never has access to a laboratory!
Abbey is the same, an angel one minute and a demon the next, but like Bec said, they know how to get their snuggle quota in.
You're always so organised for christmas, I don't know how you manage it. I could go buy the presents but I'd either put them somewhere safe and forget where or decide they are cool and open them.

Georgia - How did the gp visit go? Hope it won't require intervention.

Jackie - glad the bleeding has stopped and all is well. You're doing well to get Keanu to make pit stops on his potty, I can't even get Abbey near hers.

She is so ready for tt its not funny. She can be dry for hours, so on warm days she wears knickers and a t-shirt only. She knows she's not supposed to wee in her knickers, so holds it. I offer potty or toilet and she says no and runs away. She will hold it until she gets all wiggly and concerned and running around in circles before going somewhere secret to wee, and I'm not allowed to follow. She won't even sit on her potty for fun.
Its not like I've made it a scary thing, I think its a control issue, because she is crazy. She says so herself.
I ordered a dvd - potty power - it shows other toddlers using the potty and high fiving and has songs etc. Its going to drive me bonkers, but hopefully it will help her accept the potty. It was the dvd with the best reviews, better than that Elmo one, but I had to order it from the US, its not available here.

Where's Kimba? Even her Flickr hasn't been updated for ages.

GeorgiaAnne
26-09-2008, 21:43
Michelle - LOL on the Potty Power - sounds hilarious. Sophia also hides in corners when doing her business but she LOVES sitting on the toilet and always grabs my hand so we can go off and do "poo-wee-wee"
Bec- People pay a lot of money for 70's style wallpaper these days - make it a focus ;)
Sare - I was just having a chuckle to myself about the "bunny ear" incident of your dh last year - wasn't that Eloise's birthday or was it Lara's - they both seem to have major sport events at the same time?

Me: I'm pretty good, just tired and thankful for whatever sleep I get, it always seems enough just to get me through ad Charlie is just lovely and settles well with mummy cuddles :valentine: The tongue tie is a bit frustrating as the Paed wants me to see the LC again just to make sure that it is 100% what the prob is before he cuts it, which is good but the LC is $200 a pop so this whole thing might cost me 600 or 700 dollars for something that should've been picked up by the hosp paed  but if it's the differece bw bfing or not then it's worth it as my toes are still curling.

sare
26-09-2008, 22:23
Georgia - Sorry to hear that you are having a few issues with Charlie. Hopefully they are all sorted soon.
LOL at the bunny ears...that was Lara's b'day. I don't think that he'll ever live that down. And yep, Eloise has the Grand Final around her b'day and Lara has the Melb Cup. I wonder whether #3 will decide to make an appearance around cup day too???

Michelle - TT...ugh....just the thought of it makes me cringe. I so don't want to think about training Lara, but she has a new party trick. Twice today, she immediately took off her dirty nappy and brought it to me. I really don't want to think about tting at the moment.
I'm not sure what happened to Kimba. She is on Facebook. I know she got the job promotion, so hopefully everything is ok with her.

Bec - Love the self-preservation idea. Actually felt a bit better after speaking to some friends today and it seems like typical 4 yr old behaviour...not good for us as parents, but at least she is keeping up with her peers :p
Glad you have settled into your new house. I've said it before I love cottages and your house definitely had that lovely cottagey look to it. I hope you all have some lovely, special times there.

Well I'm off to bed (after I have checked my blood sugar levels) Night all.

Hi girls
Jac - Glad to hear all is good with you and your pg is going well, it's always nice to get past the first trimester.
Sare - How was Eloise's party? The photos are cute :)

All is good here, I went to a hen's lunch today for a good friend which was lovely but I feel so exhausted like I don't have much to give but hey, at least I went!
Sophia's latest obsession is Ollie, that muppet that comes on bw programs on Nick Jr which is fine but then you have to watch the end of other programs. I'm quite bothered by Lazy Town and that man with the moustache who jumps every where - he seems very strange don't you think?

Hi girls, still being a slack slackity poster, we are all a bit quiet these days!

Well my SIL had the twins, 9 wks early so they are both in NICU but well, one is even breathing all by herself! Two girls, AND they took our girl name....:( very very selfish I know on my part, to be sad about that, but I really was quite attached to that name. Oh well back to the drawing board. Anyone else think of some plain, old fashioned girl names (middle name will be Mary)?

Georgia - Glad little Charlie is being good to you. How's Sophia going with big sisterhood? That's funny about Ollie, Ella loves the monkeys on Playhouse Disney more than most of the shows! LOL about the wallpaper, the green bamboo print wallpaper out here in the study/sunroom is SO retro and my very coolest friend absolutely raved about it and begged me to keep it as a feature wall!

I quite like the green, it's the brown paisley in the loungeroom that gets me down:laughing: matched with a tiled fireplace, rose print trim around the skirts, and brown vinyl "mock timber" ceiling!! I'll have to post some photos on Flickr so you can all have a giggle.

Wow Jac, you are close to the nice 12wk mark! Have you already told the world or are there a few people who will be surprised?

Sare - glad you had a good chat with your friends. I keep telling DP that Ella is "just behaving normally for her age"...I'll probably still be excusing her on those grounds when she's 16... My sister actually introduced me to the self preservation idea -she used to say it when people would comment on how cute my nephew was (he didn't sleep through til he was 3). Thanks for the nice house comments. Yes it's major strength is how "homey" it feels. I put my first things in the garden last weekend!:smiliedance:

Michelle - we won't be renovating/redecorating until I'm back at full time work after mat leave - possibly not til mid 2010. Getting everything unpacked where it should be would probably improve the appearance somewhat for now:p Good luck with the potty power...are you driven mad yet?

 girls,

Bec - Congratulations on becoming an aunty to twins, but bummer about them using the name you had planned to use. It was Kate, wasn't it? Would you consider going Caitlin? Hmmm other girls names...I'll tell you what I considered for this one (have decided on Amelia for a girl) Claire, Annabelle, Genevieve, Claudia, Josephine (nn Josie), Madeliene. Try wwwdotnymblerdotcom site, where you type in names that you like and it offers more suggestions.
Glad that you have settled into your house. You're doing better than we are...6 and a bit years here and we still don't have any plants, beside a bit of mondo grass that we planted along the path we made down the dead side of the house.

Georgia - How's Charlie going with his feeding now? What about sleeping? Hope you are getting more sleep.

Jackie - Glad to hear that things are going well for you guys. Won't be long to you get that 2nd trimester energy.

Lara's starting to show signs of wanting to tt now. She takes her nappy off when she dirties it. Yesterday it was when she was still in her cot and she ended up with wee and poo all over her cot (must have been speaking to Jarvis I think ) I really don't want to start her now because it's only around 6 weeks until the baby is due and I really don't want to be dealing with a newborn and the horrors of tting a toddler.

Well, we've had another traumatic couple of days. Dad had what the drs think was a seizure on Monday night and is now in hospital too (the one that my Grandma was in initially). He is having tests and has an MRI booked in for tomorrow. :fingerscrossed: that the results come back all clear. My poor mum, now has her mum in hospital about 1 hr from where she lives and dad in another hospital again about an hour where she lives, but about 30 minutes from the hospital where my grandma is.

My bl00dy sister almost sent me in to early labour yesterday. I took the girls to the shopping centre to see one of the shows that they put over the school holidays. She is off work at the moment with bronchitis, and had called me on my mobile. (Keep in mind that she's all husky voiced because of the bronchitis) She proceeds to tell me that "we've lost dad". We'll my heartt stops as I automatically fears the worst. When I question her, she starts laughing and saying "No we lost dad, he went for a walk and we couldn't find him" :o It was horrible. Glad everyone else got a laugh out of it though.

Well I'd best be off to do something. I've been on here for about an hour now and the girls are starting to become a little more rowdy. Hope everyone else is well.
