this may sound like a dumb question but what do you store your fromula in in your bag for when you go out - are there special containers you can get or is a normal tuppaware container or something that is best
I know that you shouldnt make up the bottles and leave them for hours so I assuming there is something you can buy

Hello
a few years ago i was at a specialst discount baby store and i bought these feeding containers, basically 3 or 5 tier of lil plastic circle containers that interlocked together and the last one would have the lid with like a lil "spout" to pour the formula (already prescooped) into the bottle..
just look around baby shops, not sure about babyco, ill look around for :P

You can buy little formula containers from chemists and supermarkets. They are cheap and designed so that you dont spill formula everywhere when you put it in the bottle. I found the pigeon one to be the best shape for no spills!
That way you just have your bottle full with the right amount of water and your formula in the container and voila... your ready to go!:D

I had used to express bm using the Avent bag system and had a bunch left over. So that's what I used to hold my formula when we were travelling. I figured if they were sterile enough for breastmilk then they were sterile enough for the formula powder. It was less bulky than most of the plastic containers.

I also used a small 500ml thermos to keep the water warm so I didn't have to heat it up anywhere. 500ml held just enough for a day out and was perfect. I got a really good one from a camping shop for about $12 i think from memory.
when i ff feed ds (4 years ago ) you could buy boxes of individual satchets of the formula good for shoving in your bag. a bit dearer but convineant. dont know if they still sell them
I have a Tommee Tippee formula container. It is a round container divided into 3 sections with an opening in the lid to pour the formula powder out. You just turn the lid to pour from the next section.

Avent also has a similar one.

Before I got my Tommee Tippee one I used a small-ish container with a really tight fitting lid and kept the scoop out of one of the formula tins in it. The only problem I found with doing this is if you are going out all day you need to take more formula than you actually need so that you can scoop it out easily...does that makes any sense at all?

yeah i bought a good cheap one. its got three sections and each section holds about 4 scoops each n has a little cap so u just open it and pour the required amount into the bottle. its great.
why spend more on something when u dont have to. especially when it does the same job as the more expensive versions. actually alot of those little cheap shops have a small range of baby stuff in them., well the ones around me here in sydney do and at only $2-3 for most of the stuff they sell, its a real bargain. and alot of the stuff is as good as the other brand names stuff.
i've bought a mesh stroller/pram cover (for keeping out flies and mossies in summer), a "baby on board" sign, a mesh bag for the back of the pram to hold stuff in, the formula container, bottle brushes and heaps of other stuff for just $2 each!!
