Hi guys, gotta make this short n sweet. So sorry for not coming in these past few weeks, Charlotte has me going 24/7 and with a 16 month old tot and 2 others my time is pretty limited these days.
C is now 7 weeks, she wakes on the hour 24 hrs a day to feed, so draining and I just dunno wot to do. Although last night we had a miracle lol, she slept from 10pm - 3am

We won't hold our breath tho lol

Here's a few pics:

Hi girls

How are al the mums and bubs going i hope everyone is well.
Samara and i are doing great Samara is feeding really well its seems thats all she does can't fill her most of the time she is still sleeping 4 hours at a time got to love that.

allalone - 6 hours sleep that great i thought me getting 4 hours was great. what a clever bub u have.

babynumberone - how are u and your little man going i hope all is well i guess we should let everyone know in the August due that we had made a new thead here but i know some of them don't want to leave August due thread it is a bit sad to know that that part of our journey is over.

OopsieDaisy - Charlotte is such a cutie :flowerz:

well girls i am going to leave it here for now take care.
Monique.

Hi All,

Monique - Thanks for creating this thread, glad to hear Samara is doing great, getting regular 4-hour chunks is definitely awesome. I'm lucky to get 4hrs with Chloe, she tends to be quite unsettled!

OopsieDaisy - Charlotte is gorgeous, thanks for sharing pics! Not good to hear she's waking every hour tho you poor thing, you must be pretty tired, I feel bad for complaining now!

Allalone - I agree with Monique, 6-hours is a dream come true! It seems like such a long time ago I had that! :)

I am sure the other girls will start making their way over here soon, it is kinda sad to move away from the When Your Due August threads!

Hi girls,

Im jumping over too. Its sad that the due in phase is over. The other sad moment i had today was packing away squeeks (Rydens) 0000 jumpsuits. My little man is growing. He still fits into all his 0000 outfits just not the jumpsuits.

hi there - I'm here too :hissy:. It's sad to move... although I'll still check the due thread to see if people are posting there too.

I can't believe how time has flown - Chloe will be 5 weeks tomorrow. It's gone so, so fast.

I too have been thinking about stopping putting her in some of her 0000 jumpsuits (with the feet in them) as they are starting to get too short...more :hissy:. Sh'es growing so quickly in both weight and length. Since birth she's put on 1.3kg and 6cm.

I guess it's hard to move on sometimes...for me, I think I'll never have this again as we don't think we'll have anymore children, 99% sure - it's the very logical decision to make. I will miss the pregnancy stuff (can you believe that with all the whinging I did sometimes!!! LOL). And having a newborn baby is just so special......

Anyway, we have so many more wonderful and exciting experiences to share.

As one door closes...another opens...

Anyway, must go and feed Chloe and then get dinner ready.

LYGLC,

I had a laugh when i read your post. Becasue Ryden has put on 1.3kg since birth and also has grown the 6cm. And they were both born on the same day and 1 and half hours apart. How funny is that.

hi girls! im here too! is definitely kinda sad to leave tho.

well DH, amelia and i had a big afternoon out. i decided i should take her to meet my class at school and all my friends (other teachers) while DH was still off work and could help me, so thats what we did! it was freezing and windy and threatening to rain, but it held off and mia was actually pretty good. didnt like the wind much and my kids were a bit excited which made her a little unsettled, but she calmed down soon enough and was an angel the rest of the time.

i am sitting here trying to settle amelia - she is having her unsettled time now so lets hope once she settles she will stay that way for the rest of the night! :fingerscrossed:

Hi Girls,

Haven't been around much the last few days, been reading the posts when i can but haven't had much time to post.

It is sad too knowing that the pregnancy chapter of my life is over too, we are definately stopping at the 3 boys as much as i would of loved a girl my 3 boys are very precious.

My Brother in law and his partner had a baby boy yesterday morning 1 week early 9lb, 4oz, they named him Maxwell David which is a family name on the in law''s side of the family. We went and saw them today which was exciting.

Tomorrow i am making a snake cake well the cake bit, going to ice it on Saturday to take to my MIL's for a fathers day bbq on Saturday night for DS1's 5th birthday which is Tuesday the 9th.

As for Talon i am taking him up to get weighed again in the morning so will be interesting to see how much weight he has put on in 2 weeks. He is a good baby, doesn't cry much, wakes between 2 and 4 hours at night for a feed, the nights where he wakes 2 hourly is tiring. DP goes to work next Wednesday so will be interesting to see how i handle the kids after DP being home for little over 6 weeks, they usually misbehave for the first few days after DP has holidays lol.

Anyway Talon is screaming his head off so i should go comfort him, he isn't hungry cause i just fed and burped him lol so he would just want a cuddle which he wants a fair bit lately.

Have a good night

Bambina - regarding the strawberry birth mark. My dd1 developed one of these at about 6 weeks on her forehead - where it was wasn't too bad (if she had hair it would have covered it, but she was bald until over 1 year old). Her's started out as a tiny pink mark that just got a little bit bigger until it got about 2mm round - that doesn't sound big, but people quite often thought she had a little sore.

I do know of people who have had them surgically removed from their kids. I don't think it's a big deal (from what i've heard), although my daughters one completely went away all by itself by the time she was 2.

Anyway, better go, I will go and feed Chloe becasue I'm just so tired and desperately want to go to bed. I've had another very busy day - although I don't know exactly what i've done!!! Didn't go out anywhere, but tried to do some housework, pop some photo's in album etc. but when I think about it it doesn't seem like I should have been so busy all day. I guess when I spent probably 6 hours a day just feeding/burping/changing nappies, then also have 2 other kids to look after and the house, then it's understandable that the day goes so quickly.

Other kids went to bed a bit earlier tonight and went to sleep very easily so I've had a reasonable easy evening (just feeding, doing dishes and washing). But nice that I have had a bit of quiet.

must go, take care ladies, hope you all get some good sleep tonight.

Hey girls

Hope you are all sleeping well.

Yvonne: I understand what you mean about the day just flying by. I am finding that I only get a handful of things done and I only have the one bub. I admire you girls who have another one, two or more children. I don't know how you do it! DH and I plan to have another two kids and I am already nervous about having to look after a newborn plus one or two other children!

T2+1: Talon sounds like he is doing wonderfully. Hope DS1 has a wonderful 5th birthday on Tuesday.

Jasmine: Zaydn also is a Mr Piggy and has just experienced a growth spurt. So glad the mastitis has cleared up, hopefully the thrush does too asap. I also stink of baby vomit, my dressing gown is horrible but meh what are you gonna do! I guess I can wash it...maybe this weekend.

CC: Sounds like your class enjoyed meeting Mia - how lovely for them! Hope you were able to settle her and that she stayed settled most of the night.

0000 jumpsuits: Yes I have been putting Zaydn's 0000 jumpsuits aside for the next bub. The 000 ones are so big on him but the 0000 are now definetly too small. I can't believe how fast he is growing.

Pregnacy: Even though this isn't my last, I still find it sad that this pregnancy is well and truly over. When I see photos of my bump I get a bit emotional and miss it.

Alina: Sorry can't help you with the pram question. We have a Steelcraft one that took me at least a week to work out how to use. DH had to give me 'Pram 101' at least twice!

Tahnee, Michelle, Allalone and C & G's Mummy: Hello how are you all?

Monique: Both Z and I are well thanks. So glad Samara is doing great. 4 hours is wonderful.

Julie: Where abouts SOR do you live? The mother's group I am planning to go to is for the Thornlie and surrounds area. Your child health nurse should be able to tell you all about any Mother's Groups in your area.
Great photos by the way!

Zaydn has been a little unsettled lately. Think it is just wind though - poor little thing. Brought 'Infants Friend' as it was recommended by my midwife. Will see how it goes.

We have an appointment on Monday for Zaydn's foot (he has clubfoot - left foot only). They said that they will probably make him a little splint/cast thing. Hopefully he won't have to wear it too long...a couple of months I think.

Better go back to bed,

Claire x

hi, will need to be quick - i'm still in my pj's and so is ds! I hope no one pops in unexpectedly!

Chloe was great last night. She had a feed at 11:15 and then slept until 4:30 - I got 4.5 hours sleep in 1 block!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then she went back to sleep at abput 5:30 and slept until 8:15, so I got a little sleep in too. I got over 7 hours sleep!!!!!
Feeling better for it this morning too.

Chloe is 5 weeks old today:yelclap: and :hissy: (LOL)

Claire - hope that Zaydyn's appointment on monday goes well.
As far as having more children, the hardest bit I've found is not being able to sleep during the day (both my older kids stopped having day sleeps when they were just over 2 years old). When it's your first baby you can sleep whenever they sleep.
However, other things are much easier as you've already done them before so it's not so much a learning curve (although every baby is different and you do need to learn new things with each bubba).

Allalone - hope that Yash is much more settled today. It's quite tiring when they aren't happy.... By the way, where did the name Yash come from? (haven't heard it before). It's unusal (to me) but a pretty cool name!

terr2 - good luck with the cake - hope it's turns out fabulous! (you'll have to post pic's when i's finished).

bambina - glad that you are feeling pretty good even though you aren't getting long blocks of sleep yet. yay for mastitis going. Boo for Thrush!

crispy - how nice for you to take Amelia to your school to show the kids - they would have loved it. hope that she has a more settled day today.

campergirl - it is a bit funny about the growth and weight, isn't it!

Anyway, must go and get myself and ds dressed!

have a great day ladies!

Just a quick one for now......

DD1 has been sick since yesterday am, some gastro thing. DH was amazing and stayed home in the am so I could introduce G to my mothers group.

For those girls whose bubbies have a rash on their face does it look anything like this?????

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll162/mishyme/P1030160-Copy.jpg

It shows G rash, but you can't see the "whiteheads" very clearly. It often appears worse than this.

Also just wanted to post a photo of a cake a friend made for Georgia. She makes birthday/wedding cakes from home. I think this is a mudcake, can't wait to eat it, cos I know her cakes taste great as well as look awesome!!!

Lyglc - I'm still in my jammies too, and don't think I've much hope of getting a shower etc b4 DH gets home tonight, LOL!!

Better run, cya later

aiden is being a mega boobie man... gee
I even expressed 2 hrs after a feed to make sure I was making enough I got 110ml...
he was really really unsettled last night and its totally not like him to do the full blown new born cry... took 2 hrs to settle him. sleeping like a baby now

I have just been on the phone to baby zone re my broken pram... they tried to tell me that since they dont sell p and t prams that I had to take it somewhere else to get fixed (p and t are in NZ) blur to her... I ended up crying on the phone and she called me back and said to bring it in... I just think that since I brought it there they should still have to deal with warranty stuff.. far out.

charlottes and gs mum... gee that is aidens rash to a T.... they could be twins seperated at birth... its through his hair too...hope it goes away soon

yvonne:yelclap:yeah for sleep... aiden made it to 6 hrs and I was freaking out abit...

bambina.. welcome to the thrush club... I hope it just says on your nipples.. its nasty when it progresses into your boobies... I have aiden on dectarin... its not recomended in babies cuz your ment to give it with a spoon and some silly lady gave it to her baby with the spoon and the baby went to heaven... sad hey so I just put it on his dummy and he loves it... have u tried the nilstat... its yucky no wonder he is screwwing up his face... is he managing to swish it in his mouth for 45 sec yet :p

Hi ladies,

Sorry but this is going to be a complete whinge post so feel free to skip it if you like.

Yesterday Isabelle was unsettled all day so i thought that she would probably sleep all night. I was wrong! She didn't go to sleep til about 1am. DS then woke up at 6am so there wasn't much sleep for me. To top it off, i woke up this morning with these sharp stabbing pains in my belly. They would come and go but when they were there, they would be that painful I had to stop what i was doing and i would end up in tears:crying:. DF was still asleep but they got so unbearable that i woke him and said we are going to the docs now. The doctor prescribed Buscopan (don't know why he wrote a prescription since you can just buy it over the counter), he said that it looks like i have abdominal colic or a mild tummy flu. When i got home I threw up (sorry if tmi) and felt a little better but then the pains came again. I hope these tablets work because i don't think i could handle much more of this pain. DF has taken the night off work so he can 'look after me''. I hate being looked after but i will probably need it tonight if Isabelle decides she doesn't want to sleep. Anyway thats all from me for now. DF has ordered me to go lay down while DD is asleep. Gotta love him:p

hi girls,

It's been a pretty miserable week for us. DH and Marie have been sick for a while now, and now Oliver and I both have come down with it.

So it's all gunky noses, sore throats, and coughs around here :(

Oliver is sleeping quite well during the day in his basinette but at night he just won't settle unless he is in my arms. So I'm waking up stiff and sore each day.

Sorry more whinging....feel free to skip. Marie has decided now would be a great time to stop her day naps...refusing to go to sleep, and then she is so tired and grumpy in the late afternoon and early evening. When she finally does go to sleep its for maybe 4 or 5 hours, and then she wakes up screaming for us and is inconsolable unless we bring her into our bed. In which case she pretty much takes it over and sleeps on our heads!

Okay some personals...because I have been super slack of late....

tahnee - you poor thing, hope the meds help. And fantastic your partner could stay home and look after you.

c&g's mum - what a great sleep you are getting. Hope your little girl is better soon.

alina - wow, 110mls nice going. My boobie supply is cr@p no matter what medication etc or how often i feed/express...so I'm lucky if I get 10mls out. But I'm still perservering, because at least Oliver is getting something from me. Sucky, about your pram...hope you get it sorted out.

yvonne - I practically seem to live in my pyjamas! Congrats on the good night's sleep!

allalone - I hope Yash is more settled for you today.

Claire - Good luck with Zadyn's appt on Monday. I hope he doesn't have to wear the cast for very long.

CC - Hope Amelia settled down for you and you had a good night. That would of been lovely for your kids to see her. I took Oliver into my work last week, and he slept the entire time, I think everyone wanted to take him home.

Oopsie - Gorgeous pics of Charlotte. You must certainly have your handsfull with 4 beautiful daughters. I'm just adjusting to having 2 kids!

Bambina - Aww you poor thing, mastitis and then thrush. Hope all is better soon for you and bubs. Ooh MCN's love them. I'm a little addicted and everytime I get a new one my DH just rolls his eyes. I'm on a ban now lol!

Stacey - It's so sad putting away their little tiny clothes. Oliver has been out of 0000's for a while now. I also forgot how many clothes bubs seem to go through in a day...so much washing, and I seem to be running out of clothing for him - but then I don't want to buy much more, because of how fast they grow.

Monique - Thanks for starting up this birth group thread. Sleeping 4 hours at a time is great, sounds like everything is going well with Samara :)

Michelle - Hope things are going well with Chloe and she is settling better for you.

T2+1 - Good luck with the baking, you'll have to post a pic. And an even bigger good luck for when your DH heads back to work. I had my first full day on my own this past Wednesday after DH kind of being off for about 3 weeks, and my Mum helping out. It went pretty well, but I felt like I never stopped for a second, by the end of the day I was even more shattered than usual.

 And a big hello to all the other Aug mummies yet to make their way over here.

Managed my housework this morning, as my parents have taken Marie to Ikea, but that's it from me for now...Oliver beginning to stir.

It's the first thing I've made craft wise for months, and even though it only took me 10min, and I could've done a better job if I'd taken my time, I'm actually pretty happy with it.

Charlotte & Georgia's Mummy: Awww that is so cute....It will be Yash's fiirst Father's day as well...DH has offered to take him out for his first stroll...if the weather permits...Sydney weather is bad at the moment.

MariesMummy: Thanks. But Yas is behaving like Oliver...refuses to settle unless in arms...he is sleeping in spurts of 20 minutes both at day and slightly longer ones at night meaning I am in a drugged state today....

The only good news is that my stitches have almost stopped having any pains and I did not even take any pain relief today:)

Hi all:wave:,
I made it here, feel lslightly depressed that we are no longer the due in group.

I have had a major brakethrough today. Although DD was getting about 100mls of milk plus in about 3 minutes from one boob I realised that she was still hungry, one because she threw up a lot, 2 because she was getting wind and not being able to get it up (it was coming out the other end rather painfully) snd 3 because she was being drowned and would then do a huge poo and get unsettled.

Now I give her half the first side (about 2 minute) wind her then put her back on (the flow is less then) let her suck as long as she wants then I change her nappy wind her (she useually has a big chuck) let her sit for ten minutes and give her a minute on the other side. It means during the day she is having 3 1/2 to 5 hour gaps in feeding and is sleeping on her own in her daytime naps, my arms are feeling free and easy!!!!!

Anyway enough of that, sorry to bore you all.

M&O - hope everyone gets better soon. I am waiting to get sick, mum, dad, dh, my grandma and half of my friends have all had a mega bad cold, all taking a week plus of work because of it, but so far I have missed it:fingerscrossed:

To all you ladies supplementing breast with formula- I had to do this with DD1 as stress from moving and being a new mum and organising christenings and our house killed my milk supple. I had to give her a bottle in the middle of the day and before bed at night, but I continued as best I couold with the other feeds until she was 13 months old. So long as your bub is getting enoough food you are doing a great job, and as M&O said any and every bit of breast milk you give them gives them more immunity.

Tahnee11- big hugs for sleepless nights and sore bellies :hugs:

Charlottes and Georgias mummy- That cake is so gorgeous, I want it lol, did it taste as good as it looks???

Well I had better go, DH wants to go to bed. I am so nervous, Elizabeth is in her own room tonight and I am a bit freaked out by that concept, might end up moving her. Another picture from the christening, slightly bigger

Morning ladies,

I had a great nights sleep last night. I guess DD's sleepless night on friday made sure she slept last night. No pains in my belly this morning so i hope that means its going away.

It's DS's 2nd birthday tomorrow so he has to share the day with DF since it's Father's Day too. I bought DF his father's day present but he wanted it on wednesday because it was clothes and he wanted to wear them to work:rolleyes:. That means I have to buy something else so he has something to open tomorrow lol.

uni-mum-2-2 - :smiliedance:for your breakthrough. I'm glad it's working for you.

allalone - Good to hear your stitches are healing well.

Charlotte & Georgia's Mummy - Beautiful Father's Day card

lianas1stbub - When DF took my script into the chemist, the ladies laughed because he didn't need a script. I know you can get it cheaper if you have a healthcare card but they didn't mention any other discount.

M&O - I hope all the sickness leaves your house soon:hugs:. Hopefully Marie starts to sleep better again so you have your bed back.

Hi to everyone else, I hope everyone has a great Father's Day tomorrow just in case I don't get back on the net and enjoy your weekend.

good morning mummies :)

Oh yay, name change!

Well had a slightly better night's sleep. My hubby slept with Oliver for most of the night, and I just got up to feed and change him. We still had Marie in with us for the whole night, but she was a little more settled.

Poor little O, he is so snuffly and gunky, I'm the same but at least I can make myself cough it up or blow it out.

Marie is up this morning with me, and we are currently watching Shrek for about the billionth time!

C&G - That's a beautiful card you have made. I took Marie shopping yesterday for DH and told her to keep it a secret. Yeah right lol...she told him we got him a present and a card...good thing she didnt remember what we actually bought him. She is a little dibber dobber dinosaur some times!

allalone - That's great your stitches are feeling better. I think post natal recovery is sometimes worse than labour...it certainly seems to drag on forever.

unimum - oh :fingerscrossed: you don't come down with the cold. How did Elizabeth go in her own room?

tahnee - so glad that your pains have stopped. I hope that is the last of them for you. Good luck finding something else for your DF for Father's day. And a big happybirthday for your son, are you having a party for him? Its Marie's in a few weeks, and we are just having a few family over, we did a big thing for her 1st but that's mainly because the in-laws were over from the UK.

Aww Marie is singing row-row your boat....so cute, she doesnt really know the correct words and she calls it the robot song!

Anyways, hope you all have a great day. Its beautiful weather here in SA today, so hoping to get out and get some fresh air!

Morning Girls,

How are we all this morning? I have been feeling horrid since yesterday morning, can't stop sneezing, my allergies are playing up big time. I am going to the chemist this morning to find out if there is anthing i can take for it while breastfeeding because i just need to feel a tiny bit better.

Took Talon up to get weighed yesterday, he has put on 600 grams in 2 weeks so he is now 4.85 kg's, they were really pleased with that. They want me to take him to see the GP because his belly button is a bit red and gunky, they said he might need antibiotic cream for it.

I got DS2's snake cake base made yesterday so today i just got to design it and decorate it, the fun part.

To all you girls and your kids that are sick at the moment i hope you start to feel better soon.

C and G's Mummy that cake looks absolutely gorgeous, your friend did a unreal job.

Anyway have to go for now as my kids just went quiet, don't like quiet lol. Hope you all have a great weekend.

I have to share some thing with u girls that have windy unsettled babies

well ray went to the chemist to get some infacol... and the pharamacist said aiden was to little for it .. but they could make something up for him... any way the pharmacist even called me at home to make sure I was happy with the stuff...
its the best I just have to sit aiden up and he does the bigest burps, I dont even have to rub his back... woo hooo so I have a settled sleeping baby

I really recomend it... it is made at blooms chemist and kinda makes lemonade bubbles 1 big burp bubble and relaxes his stomach muscles... so less cramps

c and gs mum... how r georgias pimples... I had to pic a really painfull looking one, I thought if I had a pimple like that in my face it would hurt

well we are off to get our hands and feet cast thingys done cya latter

Missed yesterday as I was so flat out, and than I was sooo exhausted......

Went to GP for my 6wk check up. All seems well, he gave me prescription for panadeine forte for the pain in my body- isn't sure what it is, so he send me for some blood tests, and I will go back to see him on tues. He also checked Bianca's eye and rash. He also wants to see her again on tuesday, to do a proper 6 wk check up- I didn't know they do one on bubs, as she sees the nurse regularly- he told me to massage the eye and see what happens, and that the rash is probably hormonal-and it looks excactly the same as the one on the photoe whoever posted it-sorry forgot already-or it could be a bit of exzema, as it has dry patches too.

So that was my busy morning, as Bianca got very upset with the doc checking her eye, than his computer was playing up- so we spend 1 hour in his room:(.

So I had to go to shops to get my meds.....and decided that Binaca needs a good rest in the pram, so I stayed in the shopping centre for the day- and spend way too much:p fo my budget.......

Than I went to get my eyebrows waxed, and as soon as I got there Bianca got really unsettled- so we solved it- I lied down on the bench, boob out, Bianca attached feeding, while my friend did the eyebrows......that's a first for me:laughing:.

Anyways- so after this humangous effort- I was so exhausted last nigh, but will have to do house work today, as we have in-laws comming for dinner- so I have to tidy the house, and get few things for nibbles- lucky Dh is cooking the dinner- he loves doing it- he loves the compliments- so if anyone is comming over- he always cooks to look good!!!!:chef:

Ok so this post is all about me,me,me, how selfish-lol-but there was just so much for me to catch up on, I got a bit lost, eventhough I read all.

Julie- just wanted to say- it seems that Bianca has the same problem as yor bub- so I will try your method. Bianca also chokes on the milk, and after feed pukes like there is no tomorrow, and than has a lot of wind pushing few hours later...... so I will try it to slow down the flow. Thanks for the tip.

Anyway- better go and have a shower, so I can start on the housework- was just waiting for the panadeine fort to work, so I can actually do stuff relatively pain free.

Also- any of you, who are still planning more bubs- I know it sounds really crazy, as I just had a bub, and love her so much:cloud9:, but I actually started to go through the name book yesterday, trying to pick names for our next bub- crazy isn't it. Hav I gone completely mad??????

Good Morning Girls!

Hope you all had a great sleep! I did! My wonderful DH looked after Zaydn all night..all I had to do was feed him twice. DH burped him, resettled him, changed his nappies and changed his clothes when they needed to be. Gotta love him :valentine:

Yvonne: Hope Chloe slept well again for you last night. 5 weeks...it goes so fast doesn't it? Z is 4 weeks tomorrow!

C & G's Mummy: Is Charlotte feeling better? That cake is divine, your friend did an amazing job! And the card is very sweet, well done. I have been making thank you cards from Zaydn's birth. They are fairly basic but look pretty good. I love homemade cards and I love making them for people.

Alina: Infant's friend is an oral liquid that helps relieve colic and wind
www.infantsfriend.com.au (http://www.infantsfriend.com.au)
Sounds like the stuff they made you at the chemist is wonderful! I don't think we have Blooms Chemist in W.A unfortunately.

Julie: That's great you had a breakthrough. I love it when that happens - I had one the other day in regards to feeding Z. I thought I was so smart! It just goes to show that every baby is different and it is just a matter of trying to work them out!
How did Elizabeth go in her own room?

Tahnee: Glad to hear you had a great night's sleep! Huge happy birthday to your little man. Are you having a party or get together for him?

M & O: Hope you and Oliver start to feel better soon. Do you call Oliver Ollie for short? It is a gorgeous name, reminds me of a little boy I used to look after. Love the fact that Marie calls row, row, row your boat the Robot Song. That's classic!

T2+1: That's no good about your allergies. Hopefully you find something at the chemist. Make sure you take some photos of the snake cake and post them!

Ellie: What a big day for you and B! about the baby names book because I have started doing exactly the same! I love the "Choosing Baby Names" thread on Bubhub!
Hope the panadeine forte works for you.

Well we are celebrating fathers day today as DH is working on Sunday. I'm now just waiting for him and Zaydy to wake up so I can give him his presents! We are going to have a relaxing day and go out to dinner tonight (Hogs Breath Cafe - his choice).
Here is a pic I took of Z yesterday. He is becoming so much more alert and showing an interest in things...

WOW Clair, he is gorgeous.

So I've done heaps of house work-thank god for the panadeine fort-and now I am forcing myself to rest a bit while Bianca is asleep, as all of the work has been done with her being very unsettled and sleeping only about 30 mins lots and than being unsettled again. But I got doen basic stuff like vacuum, washing, dishes, and tidy up......which took a while.... and now I am dead again.

Well while talking about names- does anyone know of any very pretty form of the name Margaret????

Anyways- I will go and sit on the couch for a bit- it's such a gorgeous day here today- all of my windows are wide open- getting the gorgeous air in the house.

Hi everyone,

Since i had to go shopping today, DF's sister is babysitting DS for the day:smiliedance:. It was alot easier to go shopping with a newborn than a toddler. If i had to feed her, i would just feed her in the sling so I didn't have anyone looking which was great. I also managed to spend heaps of money on DF for father's day, i bought him some dress shirts for work. He has gone to work now, he is d'jing a wedding so he finishes at 10.30pm which is good because I have made a reservation at a hotel for a buffet breakfast for Us and the kids at 9am.

ellie13 - I hope you are having a nice relaxing afternoon. It's a beautiful day here as well. Hopefully the day will be just as nice tomorrow.

M&O & babynumberone - We were going to have a party for DS but since it's fathers day, no-one seems to want to come even for just a couple of hours:(. DF's mum, sister and niece are coming and hopefully my mum will come with the kids because i would really like DS to have a play. One of DF's work buddies is going to lend us one of his jumping castles that he hires out so that will be good. I also bought DS an icecream cake, i figured he might enjoy that more (and less mess:p) than normal cake.

babynumberone - Have a great dinner tonight. I looove hog's breath, their steaks are the best.

lianas1stbub - DF wants to get the hand/feet casts done too. I think I might have to start organising it if he doesn't start soon

Terrible2+1cutie - I hope you get better soon

Hi girls,

I've finally found some time to get back on here. I really seem to struggle with finding time for things these days.

I have read all your posts but won't reply to all of them as I would only be repeating what others have said. Good to hear that people are mostly getting some good sleeps and :fingerscrossed: that those who aren't soon will be.

About the pimple like rash that some babys have, my ds had it really bad when he was born. The chn actually got us to take him to the paed it was so bad, but he said it was quite safe. It took a few weeks for it to go.

Things are going well for us. Emily was 7 weeks last wednesday and we took her for her chn check. she has gained about 2kg since her birth and is now 9lb 4oz (she was 4lb 11oz at birth). I have put all of her 000000 clothes away and most of her 00000's as well. She is such a little chubber now compared to when she was born. It is so wonderful to see.

I organised fathers day stuff last week sometime as Dh went away for work last monday and will be gone for 3 weeks. I miss him terribly but am doing ok. We gave a framed picture of the three kids and a hand print from each of them. I'm sure he'll love it.

ANyway I have to go and feed Emily so i will leave it here and try to get back on a bit later

happy father day to all the daddy's for tomorrow.

hi ladies.

I too, will not repeat all the personals as I agree with what everyone else has said!!!!!

Today has been pretty good. Had a busy morning, but this afternoon dh took dd1 and ds to a birthday party at the local pool. I got an hours sleep while they were out! YAY!

After waking up felt really good, have been on a bit of a cleaning frenzy in dd1's bedroom - it was such a mess and now it looks like it's fit for a princess!

Sometimes, if I'm refreshed and get in the mood I'm doing a bit of nesting now! feel better for this kind opf stuff more than i did when pregnant!

Marissa - hope that everything goes really well for you while dh is away.

Anyway, still got housework to do and I think Chloe may be wanting a feed so must go.

Chat later, Yvonne.

well back again,

Have been waiting for chloe to settle after her feed and now I think she is asleep.

Wasn't quite sure how the night was going to go as she only had 6 feeds yesterday instead of 7, so thought she may want to make up that feed during the night (have 2 night feeds instead of 1). But what a good girl she is!!!!! She woke for her middle of the night feed just after 3am, just as normal.

I'm so glad, having 2 nights feeds I find really hard, plus dd1 has not been feeling too good during the night and has been in bed with us (she has also been crying, but gave her medicine and she has slept fine now), plus ds has woken twice - but dh has mostly been the one dealing with him - I still wouldn't jump into bed with him yet as he kicks alot and I wouldn't want him to kick my tummy.

My tummy still hurts a little when being pressed on, but I think a kick would not be fun at all.

Yesterday i wore jeans again (non-maternity ones). Was a bit if a tight fit around the tummy but still pleased that i could manage it, but I think they put a bit of pressue on my scar as it's a bit sore now....

anyway, why am i still typing here when she has gone to sleep!!!!

Hope that all the dad's (especially the first time one's) have a wonderufl father's day.
(I'm guessing it will be quiet on here today....)

Morning ladies,

There probably wont be many posts today but i had to come on and vent. DF is still sleeping but he sent me a text message while at work last night and said he didn't want to go out to breakfast this morning which i had made a reservation for. So i'm a bit disappointed about that. I know its his day but it seems whenever I try and organise something, he just can't be bothered:(. I might as well go start some washing since we aren't doing anything. It's DS's birthday but i can't give him any presents until DF wakes up and who knows when that will be. What a crappy day so far. Sorry for the whinge, i probably sound a bit selfish.

Anyway, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the daddies and I hope everyone has a great day.

I'm guessing as well that it is going to be quiet on here today. I hope you are al enjoying your special family time. I look forward to having a make up father's day for DH when he gets back.
I was going to go to church this morning but have decided that it is just too hard with dh being away. I would probably have spent the whole time running after the kids anyway so I think i will give it a miss until dh gets back.

I told myself that i was going to spring clean this weekend, but so far haven't done anything. I will get into it after this though...

as you can probably guess i am procrastinating big time... we are moving towns in 5 weeks so I do really want to spring clean and sort out what needs to be thrown, donated, or packed, but starting is so difficult when i know that i cant just get into it until it is done. Instead i wil have to stop constantly to parent my children. And once i start i will have to deal with the piles of things everywhere and try to keep the kids from going through them and 'resorting' them for me.

But it won't get done unless i do it so i'd better stop procrastinating, send the kids outside to play and get into it.

I hope you are all having a lovely day.

hi ladies - had a nice, but sooo busy day!

Yesterday we did some father's day stuff for dh as we knew that today would be mostly spent with my dad and his dad.

Today, had church in the morning then went to in laws for lunch - realised at church that I didn't have enough nappies or wipes for the day oin the nappy bag so had to go and buy some - never done this before even with the first 2 kids - I guess I was a bit sleep deprived today.

After lunch at inlaws went to my parents for tea.

Then came home. Older kids in bed. cjloe is a bit unsettled at the moment. Need to get some housework done - I have washing done from yesterday that hasn't evenm been hung out! Plus so many dirty dishes on the sink.

Better go, hope all the dad's had great father's days and happy birthday to Tahnee's ds!

What an amazing experience for you fire-fly......I'm so glad you got the birth experience you wanted and truly deserved!!!

Well DD1 is over her tummy bug. She slept almost all day fri.....Georgia was awake more than DD1 fri!!

Thankfully Georgia hasn't picked up the bug, nor have DH or I. We've had a relatively busy weekend. Watched a neice play and win her netball grandfinal, then went shopping yesterday while DH went to watch a nephew play in a footy final.

Georgia has been feeding and sleeping beautifully.....going from 10ish generally through to anytime from 3am onwards. Yesterday she didn't wake until 6!!! It makes it sooooo much easier to cope and do every day things!

uni-mum - maybe your DD is going through a growth spurt and trying to increase your milk supply??? Hope things are going ok for you, and you're not too tired!

Liana - I hope the hassles with your FIL didn't ruin your DH's first father's day.

Tahnee - hope your DS had a nice birthday, and that your fathers day turned out ok, even though you missed out on your breakfast.

Just a question to those of you who give your babies EBM. When/how old was your baby when you started this?

I didn't try and get DD1 to take a bottle until it was too late, and she wasn't interested (about 6 1/2 months) and I thought I would like Georgia to take a bottle of EBM so that I can go out if I want without the girls (that was before I had her....now i don't want to leave her with anyone! I don't want to share my baby!!) but I don't know how early I need to start this to be successful.

So any tips/helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

Better run, DD1 is climbing all over me, looking for a cuddle - it makes typing VERY hard!

Sean is such a wonderful little guy, he is sleeping pretty well and I am up to him maybe twice at night about 12:30am & 4:30am. I am amazed at how much I have fallen for this little guy. I mean i adore my girls but sean is already so different to his sisters.

i hope you are all well and your little darlings are going well too. I have promised myself today i would have my house in order so i better take off.

Hi,

We ended up having a pretty good day yesterday. We covered the loungeroom floor with balloons so when DS woke up from his morning nap, he was so excited to see so many balloons. We also bought him an icecream cake (freddo one) and he loved it. By the end of the day I started getting really annoyed with DF's sister. Everytime DD cried she would come and take her off me like i didn't know what i was doing, i was getting so mad that by 5pm I just took DD into the room and slammed the door. She left then, i didn't mean to slam the door but i can only take her in small doses. She also started putting some of DS's new toys together which I bought him so that ticked me off too.

I just went down to the chemist to buy DD some infants friend because she is very windy and I think thats why she is so unsettled lately. I hope it works.

2girlssofar - Sean sounds like a nighttime sleeping angel :cloud9:

Charlotte & Georgia's Mummy - I'm glad DD1 is better and no one else is sick, hopefully it will stay like that for a while.

rissa79 - I hope you got back to sleep ok this morning

lyglc - Housework at 9pm!!! I only did that when i was pregnant lol. Now i'm usually trying to catch some sleep at that time

Hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday- and that all the daddies really enjoyed themselves!!!!

Tahnee- I know what you mean- I had the same issue with couple of people in my time as a mum (won't name them though- too scared-lol) and yep it took every ounce of my patience to just not scream out _ THIS IS MY CHILD- I KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!!!-:hissy:

Anyways I hope you'll feel better today, and that you get to have some lovely stress free time with DS and DD. The balloon idea sounds lovely- he would of been so excited.

Paula-each and every one of our children is very special- it's just that when they are tiny little bubbas- they are so cute and we can't help ourselves. I just keep staring at Bianca- and sometimes I feel sad for DD1- as I don't stare at her that much anymore :D- oh well- babies do that to ya.

Firefly- great birth story- glad you got the birth that you so wanted.... sounds very positive.

C&G mummie- hope Charlotte's feeling btter soon.:fingerscrossed: Georgia keeps away from the bug.

Marissa- hopefully you got to sleep ok after your post.

Yvonne and Alina, monique and everyone else- how are ya????/ Hope you are all well.

Us- well we had a nice fathers day. Dinner on sat went well, and we went to dinner with Dh's family again yesterday- cause Dh's niece is moving to Qld today, so it was farewell dinner. It was nice, I wasn't meant to go as it was meant to be at 7pm, and DD had to go to bed, cause it's school today- but than they rang that they moved it to 5pm, so we could go- which was nice.

Sad news- my friend did pass away on Saturday from breast cancer-so there will be a funeral on Saturday, very sad this is.

Otherwise, all is good. Bianca has her settled and unsettled times, sleeping pretty good. She does wake up every 3 hours or so for feed at night, but I just give her BB and she feeds and goes straight back to sleep, so that is good.

Anyways- I am trying to use wet chucks cloths atm for cleaning her bottom, as I was going through the nappie wipes like carzy-$$$$$- as she poos soooo much- so far I actually find them better for cleaning her bottom, than the wipes u buy- they seem to clean the bottom better, with less of them- hope it stays that way.

Ok I am stopping to make sence:rolleyes:..... u can tell I am tired, for some reason, eventhough I did have a good night sleep. DD came into bed with me and Bianca- and I fell asleep, and forgot, and when I woke up, I got a bit of a scare- who is this next to me- it took me a minute to realise it was DD.

Might try and catch up in here a bit later.

U all girls have a great day.:flowerz:

Hi mummies,

Still not feeling the best here all around. But we did have a nice father's day lunch over at my parents house, was nice to get out. And we even got there relatively on time lol. Don't you just love being on baby time!

ellie - I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. :hugs:
You could try cloth wipes for Bianca's bum. I know it sounds a little gross at first...but will save you a whole lot of money in the long run. We just have a squirt bottle of water next to the change table and a whole stack of cloth wipes and then they get put in a nappy bucket and washed at a later time.

tahnee - what a fabulous idea with the balloons. Marie loves balloons, will have to try that for her in a couple of weeks.

2girls - Good luck with the housework, I managed to get a little of mine done this morning, but geez its hard with more than one kidlet!

c&g - Glad charlotte is feeling better and that its not spread to the rest of you. Great sleeping for Georgia as well, it certainly does make functioning a little easier. We have more issues with Marie sleeping at the moment than Oliver!

claire - Yup, we do call Oliver, Ollie sometimes. We have of course already had all the jokes from family members "Ollie, Ollie, Ollie" and "Please sir can I have some more" or "He is going to drive you round the twist". But, I knew we'd get that before we named him, so hasn't phased me.

Marissa - That's great news Emily is doing so well.

Firefly - Fantastic birth story and loved the pics, it all looks so calm and wonderful.

Arg..that's all for now. Oliver starting to wake up. Here's hoping I can get Marie to actually go for her nap today :fingerscrossed:

ellie13 - :hugs: I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.

okay gals, 2 cents from me as bub is crying for another feed....

Allalone- great to hear Yash is doing well.

Jasmine- DH just baught a roll of chucks in Bunnings for $10, and will get more rolls tomorrow. Yay I have my wok cut out, cutting them all to size-lol.

Great to hear that u get to introduce bub to greatgrandparents- yep time is precious- and life is too short. Which I am reminded of very much atm as a I know a lot of people atm who have cancer or other very nasty illnesses.

M&o mum- I have thought about that- cloth wipes, but I don't use cloth nappies, so really I don't actually have a bucket to soak them in......I think I will just stay on the chucks for the time being and see how we go.... but thank you so much for your suggestion.

Tahnee- yeay for so much fun in the morning!!

lianas1stbub - Isabelle screws her face up at the infants friend too lol. She has done 2 massive poos since she has had it and she has also slept really well. Does that mean its working:confused:. I don't know too much about wind because DS never really had it. I guess I will give it a few more days and see whether i notice a change in her.

allalone - Good to hear bubs is going well.

ellie13 - Hope you are having a good day

BambinaCattiva - I definitely agree with trying to keep in touch with the grand parents as much as possible. I chat to my great grandma on the phone now and then because she lives about 8 hrs away from us. Hopefully we can afford to go see her at xmas because she is Isabelle and Dylan's great great grandma. We have 5 generations at the moment.

Sorry guys for not being on here for a while. Im not going to read over the last pages so I'll just pick up from here.

Well my life is officially shyte! When we got out of hospital I thought I had the perfect baby. Boy was I wrong!! Piper is a very unhappy bub. She is never content. You need to hold her ALL the time. She wakes up crying and will cry and fuss till she falls asleep again. She cries and screams thru her feeds and pulls of the breast. She also hasnt started smiling or cooing yet she doesnt try and talk and she will be 7 weeks his wednesday. I just dunno what to do. It is so unfair on DD1 who needs me too. I feel like a horrible mother for not being able to give her 1 on 1 time or even read her a story cos Pip is fussing. Also DD1 is teething her molars and it has given her diarreoh (13 nappies toady and counting) so she wants me. I have her 6 week check tomorrow so I'll see what the paediatrician says. Originally I put her behaviour to colic but now its way over the top.

Sorry to whinge after being MIA for so long. Thanks girls. I hope you are all enjoying your bubbas.

Hi Girls,

Had our first orthopaedic appointment at Perth's main children's hospital today. When I had my 20 week scan they diagnosed Zaydn with talipes (clubfoot) in his left foot. But we were told by many health professionals "it is probably a mild case - a little bit of physio and he will be fine."
Well we found out today, it requires a lot more than a bit of physio.
He now has a full leg plaster cast. Each week it needs to be taken off and the progress needs to be assessed and another cast put on. When they are happy with the position of the foot they he will no longer need the casts. They can never really tell how long it will take - all she could say was a couple of months at least. After the casts he is fitted with a special boot/splint thing that has to be worn 24 hours a day. Eventually this will then only be worn at night.
I feel so...emotionally fragile (I don't know how to describe it). I didn't expect the treatment to be like this. I feel so sorry for the little man. He isn't allowed to have baths or showers anymore, he is only allowed to be washed over with a wash cloth. He loves his showers with his daddy, they calm him down at the end of the day. And he uses his legs so much to help with his wind issues, now he can't use his left one at all :(
I feel so sad for him....and I feel bad about that because I know that there are so many other children out there who are so much worse off. I feel selfish for being so upset....
I guess being so tired isn't helping either (Z has been feeding 2 hourly for the past two days).

Sorry, I was planning to do personals but don't feel up for it anymore. Also sorry this post is all about me - I just don't have anyone else to 'talk' to - all my friends and family are at work.

:hugs: For you Lisa - hopefully the dr can help you out

:hugs: For you too Claire - I can't even imagine how you're feeling. It must be awful, esp considering you were of the belief that it would be an easy thing to deal with. There's a big difference between a bit of physio and plaster casts for months. Feel free to keep venting here.

Well after gushing about my little guy this morning - today has been a shocker!!!

All he has done is cry all day and will not settle unless he is on me or in my arms. :hair: He is currently in his cot crying as I have to get the dinner ready and the girls need to be bathed.

So as for my cleaning I got absolutely nothing done at all :banghead:

Claire - :hugs: these are for you. I am sorry that Zaydn has to go through all of that. I guess you have to look at it as you are doing the best thing for him and long term it will help him. Still makes you feel helpless and frustrated I can imagine. You are certainly not selfish for being upset about it it is perfectly natural.

Cheezelz - I am sorry that Piper is not settled for you. Perhaps a good check up by the paed would help?? Is she getting enough milk?? That is all I can really think of if she is not settling, that or reflux/colic?? I know what you mean about feeling bad for your other kids but they are really resilient little tykes and in the long run they will not remember that you had to spend a little bit longer with the baby and didn't give them a lot of attention at the beginning. ( I hope I explained that well enough).

liana - Sean is a little fart machine as well.

Fathersday - we had a lovely day, we went to my sisters for lunch with my parents and sisters and everyone's husbands and kids. DH's parents are o/seas at the moment visiting his sister who lives in Manchester so it was nice to see my family at least.

Ok enough from me I think Sean has stopped crying and now I will begin dinner.

See ya

well it has taken me all day to catch up on all the goss on here since thursday night. my internet wasnt working on friday for some unknown reason and then i have been very busy with truckloads of visitors on saturday and fathers day on sunday. anyway, i am back.

i took amelia to the baby health clinic today and she has put on 550g in 12 days! i knew she was a hungry bub! the formula / EBM combo is working well for us. i feel guilty about not breast feeding with my BBs and also not exclusively BFing as it was always my intention just to BF but i have felt so much happier and am enjoying being with mia so much more now that she is not constantly attached to me! the LC at the clinic today reassured me and made me feel less guilty too. she said it is important for amelia that she has a happy mum and doesnt feel the negativity every feed time.

claire - im sorry to hear about the club foot and all the treatment. mia has a clicky left hip and the GP is gonna check it again this week and maybe send her for an ultrasound. he said the treatment is pretty simple like using double nappies to support the hip etc, so i hope it doesnt blow out of proportion too. i hope it corrects very quickly for you.

lisa - i really hope that piper becomes less dependent really soon. i dont have much advice cos i dont have another child, but i think what the others have said are good ideas.

well i cant do any more personals as there are just too many to catch up on since thursday!

im off to have a mummy nap

oh and i added some photos of amelia in her fathers day outfit!

CC - Good to hear your visit to the clinic went well and bubs is growing.

2girlssofar - My little girl was really good this morning too but now she iss really unsettled and i have to get dinner together in about 5min:(

BambinaCattiva - When my sister had a girl, they had a 5 generation photo done of the women but my grandma and greatgrandma live in nsw and my mum and i are in qld so its a bit hard to get us all together at the same time unfortunately. My little girl is definitely a boobie monster but she has been one since birth so i guess she's not really little anymore , she has outgrown her newborn nappies and 0000bonds wondersuits now.

hopefully we can give you girls heaps of support here-:shakehands:

Hi everyone,
I just came on to quickly give big hugs to:

Claire: It can be stressful when things arn't going to plan. hang in there and whinge all you want:hugs::hugs:

Cheezles: Hopefully your doctor can sort things out for you, my neice was like this waking upp all the time and constantly crying and whinging. and she is three now and still wakes up constantly at night.

Elizabeth is doing ok, not really sure whats going on, everytime I think I am getting her she changes. She really hates to be left on her own, but if you piick her up she is pretty content. She is still feeding well so thats grat and she is getting bigger.

Anyway gotta go

Hi All,

I've been reading but haven't been able to post for a little while as Chloe has been a real handful again :hissy:.

Cheezelz - Sorry to hear about Piper. Chloe has been fussing quite a bit and can take a few hours sometimes to go down and sleep which is frustrating so I feel your pain. I hope things improve for you and that Piper starts settling.

Lianas1stbub - Chloe does 'adult' farts, sometimes I have to question if its her or DH

BabyNumberOne - BIG :hugs:, sorry to hear about Zaydn's troubles

CrispyChicken - Congrats on Amelia's weight-gain sounds like she's doing really well, sorry to hear about her hip, hopefully its found to be nothing too serious.

Me - I'm a little freaked out right now, the other day I felt a small lump on my breast and thought perhaps it was a blocked milk duct, didn't feel it again after expressing milk for my DD so didn't have another thought. Tonight however I've felt the same lump which is quite small (perhaps 1cm in size) and I'm really worried. I will need to get this checked however wondering if this is normal? I've massaged it a fair bit and its not going away :( Will need to get my GP to look at this,

I'm worried now. :(

Anyhow going to watch some TV (Chloe is due up any minute now).

hey girls

I got to sleepin till 830 woooo hooo but we did have 2 night feeds and I had to get up afew time to visit the loo due to food poisioning blur felt like I was reliving my contractions but not as bad...

I got a bunch of flowers of ray last night, so he was in my good books for about 1 hr... I have been crying alot latley and very snappy

claire... can they make zayden a splint thingy that u can remove... are u going to a kids hospy its worth asking or for a plaster that u can get wett (maybe call the physio dept)
aiden is having a follow up US after his artery problem... Im thinking he is ok but I should kinda prepare myself for something..

mishey... love your avaitor pic... chloe totally doesnt look like a prem baby... wow she is a cutie well done
about your lump... treat it as a blocked duct (see ABA) I think u warm before a feed and ice after... I thought I had one but turned out to be just sun burn.

cheezles... hope piper settles for u soon, aiden goes abit crazy at night, I express milk in the morning and give it to him at about 8ish after his feed, this seems to settle him as I feel he just cant get enough from my boobes... he pulls off grunts etc in frustration and as soon as I top him up with ebm he is a little angle... I also find that he is wanting to be a party boy during the day...

cc... hope mias clicky hips sorts it self out... I think in the olden days they used to do a big hip brace.. now they just double nappy... wow

Morning ladies,

lianas1stbub - Woohoo for your sleep in. I remember when i had DS that i used to get really emotional and snappy. I had mastitus too so that made it even worse. I have coped pretty good this time round, i think that has a lot to do with my bf, it seems to be a bit easier with DD than with DS. That was nice of ray to buy you some flowers.

BambinaCattiva - My mum found out that my 9yr old brother stole some lollies from the supermarket after she got through the checkouts. She made him go and hand it back to the manager lady, i think he was really embarrassed then. To our knowledge he hasn't done it again.

misheycat - Hopefully that lump is nothing to worry about but I would get the doc to check it out just for your peace of mind.

uni-mum-2-2 - Isabelle prefers to be held too. She seems to only last a few minutes on the floor before she gets unsettled.

me - I had a good nights sleep last night, I have been co-sleeping with Isabelle at night but last night I put her in her bassinet at 8.30pm and she didn't wake til 1.30am for a feed:smiliedance:.

hi girls!

tahnee - thats a great sleep! hope she keeps it up for you.

alina - hope your tummy settles down and you have fun at your clinic. so nice of ray to buy you flowers. it was my DH's first day back at work yesterday and he came home with good intentions to give me a break for a bit, but when it came time to feed amelia and bath her, he was playing on the computer and couldnt/wouldnt get off. i find it really hard to bath her on my own so i waited til he was finished with a half-fed, semi-screaming baby so we could do it together... then he wondered why she took two hours to settle to sleep :hair:! about the hip thing - the GP did say she may need a brace but i think they try the double nappy first...

bambina - thanks for your reassurance. amelia has always been a good feeder and her weight hasnt been the problem. its more trying to get her settled after a feed. seems she is just a hungry baby and wants more milkies! i agree and think making your daughter go and take them back or admit what she has done to the shop owner / manager and maybe making her pay for them out of her pocket money is a good idea.

mishey - i really feel for you. amelia is only really unsettled at night, so i can imagine how frustrated you are having it all day long! hope the lump is just a blocked duct.

unimum - must be hard to get things done when elizabeth wants to be held all the time. do you have a baby carrier / pouch thingy? maybe you could carry her round in that so you have your hands free.

ellie - great typing one-handed!

2girls - sounds like you had a nice fathers day. sorry to hear that sean is being unsettled. maybe try the baby carrier / pouch i suggested to unimum.

me - well it was DH's first day back at work yesterday. he really hates it there which made leaving us girls here even harder. his job has been very unstable for the past few months. they are basically operating without any cash and sometimes his pay is up to a week or more late! it has been very stressful and he also cops all the abuse from the clients over the phone as he is the one who has to answer it. he has been looking for a new job for a while now, but wanted to wait til i had the baby so he got his paternity leave. so anyway, last night we decided he is going to resign today. he just called me to say he did it and they want him to stay for the next 3 weeks and then they are going to pay out his owed annual leave (he has about 5 weeks worth). he is also allowed to look for a new job from work over the next 3 weeks. so it seems it is working out pretty well, providing he can find a job in the next 8 weeks before we run out of money!

amelia is having her first playdate today! there is a teacher from work who lives around the corner from me and she had a little girl in july. they are coming over for a visit today. it will be so nice for the girls and nice for us mums to catch up!

well i better go and tidy up this house before our guests arrive. have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Girls,

Thank you all so very, very much for your :hugs: and kind words about Zaydn's treatment.

DH was working afternoon shift yesterday so I went around to my sister and brother in law's house as I didn't want to be alone. Z is such a tough cookie. The cast doesn't seem to bother him that much which I am really glad about. It does make it a lot harder to do simple things like change his nappy but we will get used to it.

Alina: Z gets fitted with a splint only after his foot has been corrected with the casts - so in a couple months time. DH and I are just hoping it is sooner rather than later. I can only imagine how horrible a cast would be in summer time. I willl check about a waterproof cast, hower I doubt I will have much luck.
Hope Aiden's artery problem is all cleared up now.

Tahnee: How is Infant's Friend working for you? I give Z a couple of drops before all his day feeds and he appears much more settled and doesn't take long to burp at all.

Jasmine: I got caught stealing a chocolate bar when I was a kid, my father made me go back to the shop and apologise to the owner and pay for the chocolate with my own money. It worked for me - I have never stolen since! I think I may have also got grounded but I was older than your daughter.

Michelle: Try not to worry - hard I know. Good idea seeing the GP, they will be able to clear it up for you. Let us know how you go.

Julie: Zaydn is the same - loves to be cuddled and held. Which can mean that some days nothing gets done at all but oh well! How is your older daughter coping with Elizabeth (your avatar is gorgeous btw)!

CC: Hope Mia's clicky hip sorts itself out. Zaydn is going for an ultrasound on his hips in 3 weeks - just to rule out any problems there. I'm fairly sure his hips are ok though. Well done with Mia's progress, she is doing great!

Hello to everyone else! Hope you all had a great sleep and thanks again for your support yesterday - I don't know what I'd do without BubHub!

Love Claire x

I just noticed a white paste on Pipers tongue last night!! OMG she has thrush. DH gave her a bottle on Saturday night because I had gone out drinking with the girls. I can remember him saying that there were no sterilised bottles so he used a clean on from the sink. Im not sure if that did it or it was an unclean dummy but its there. I rang the parent hellpline and they told me what to do. Thankfully I havent felt any pain in my nipples so thats a promising sign that it hasnt passed to me. I dont think that explains her fussiness though cos she has been fussy for the past 3 weeks. or getting worse over the past 3 weeks. I put it down to colic but she sleeps very well at night. She has her last feed at 8.30 and sleeps 9-3am. Then feeds again and sleeps 4am-7.30am. Its then all day that she doesnt fed unless being held....I have her in the sling and Im carrying her around the house asleep at the moment.

:hugs:Lisa...sounds like you're having a really tough time of it at the moment, and I know how frustrating it is when you feel like you're not able to be there for your other daughter.
Try to take advantage of offers for help as much as possible (Hubby, family, friends, whatever) -offload DD2 for cuddles so that you can not only give your DD1 some one-on-one time, but also take some time out for yourself...it is really draining when a baby is so unsettled
Don't feel disheartened that she hasn't started smiling, cooing etc, yet - they all develop at their own pace, and our little one hasn't done any of these things yet, either...they're quite close in age.

Ive lost the plot cos I still cant figure out who you were!! :detective:
Last night she smiled at DH so maybe she is as feed up with me as I am with her. He also started talking to him.:crying: Maybe she feels my tension.
When DH gets home from work he takes Piper from me but I feel bad cos DD1 (Brie) loves him to death and wants his attention. Hopefully soon we'll get into some routine of sleep and eating.

I read in a formula book yesterday that babies born via c/s dont get some bateria in their guts that aid with digestion that bubs born vaginally get. Maybe that could be causing colic symptoms. She does find it hard to poo at times. She hasnt been for 3 days at the moment. I wont worry till its 5 days.
I know that my DD's wont remember who I spent more time with at this age but I feel horrible when DD1 wants me to read a story or hold her and I cant and she cries or gets sooky or hits the lounge in frustration.

Im glad to read that everyone else is enjoying their babies and they are all being normal and good for you. Give them a pat on the back for me xoxoxo

I am half an half enjoying Talon at the moment Cheezelz if that makes sense, i enjoy him lots during the day when he sleeps and eats with a little playtime but at night he wakes and just wants to be held (don't enjoy those moments ) cause nighttime is for sleeping. Poor DP hasn't been coming to bed till 4 am last few nights cause Talon won't settle so he stays up only bringing him to me for a feed just so i can get some sleep but he goes back to work tomorrow .

Just got home from my 6 week check up 2 weeks early (4 weeks) as my OB is going away and wanted to see me before he went, everything is going fine, he cut one stitch out that appeared to be poking out a bit.

Its DS1's 5th birthday today, can't believe he is 5 already. He is however at daycare today as i figured he would enjoy it more spending his birthday with his friends so i made a cake and took it along for him. We had the family thing with a snake cake on Saturday night (which i will post pics of as soon as i get it off the camera). For the last few days cause he got some presents early all i can hear him saying to his brother "Its not your birthday, its my birthday" cause DS2 wants to play with everything too.

Oh yeah my allergies turned into a flu too, i have felt like death the last few days but trying to rest and drink lots of fluids to get better by tomorrow to make looking after 3 kids easier. I am actually quite scared at the thought of looking after 3 kids tomorrow for the first time by myself. But i will manage some how.

Anyway i should go and feed Talon and then havea rest before picking the kids up.

Have a great day.

hi everyone!

Not sure if I posted yesterday or not - it's a bit of a blur - did read but I don't think i had the time to post?

Life has become so busy lately. Didn't seem so busy when I first came home from the hospital, but now I feel like I'm not getting all the things done that need to be.
Most nights I'm still up doing housework around 10pm as otherwise it just isn't gettting done. As it is the washing seems to be out of control! And I have to go and do another load soon as Chloe pooed on my dressing gown this morning and I need it for getting up during the night, otherwise I'll freeze.

Cheezlez - sounds like it's a really tough time for you at the moment - Hope you can get some answers about Pipers unsettledness. It must be so hard for you.
Also hope that the thrush doesn't move to other body bits.
Chloe hasn't satrted to smile yet. My mum tries and tries, but I will be a bit annoyed if someone else gets the first smile......
Can you spend some one on one time with Brie when Dh gets home and looks after Piper, even if it is just a coupe of minutes reading her a story or something else that doesn't take much time. It's really hard when the second child comes along for the parents and older child...

Claire - Hope that the casts don't take too long for little Zaydn. I've known a little girl who had to have a casts around her pelvis - her hips were out I think, and she coped amazing well.
Please feel free to come on here as much as you need to talk about how you are feeling.
I know that I didn't get the chance to reply yesterday about Zaydn, but I was certainly thinking of you guys:hugs:

fire fly - don't you just hate it when that happens!!!

terr 2 + 1 - hope that Talon starts to settle more easily during the night. I know for me that's by far heaps harder to deal with, especially when your body is screaming out for sleep!
Happy birthday to DS!. My dd1 turned 5 in August and I too can't believe how quickly the time has gone.

crispy - hope that you are finding it okay with dh back at work. Also hope that he finds a great job really quickly. Great that his current employer is happy for him tp be looking for work.

tahnee - what great sleep Isabelle had - hopefully you have felt better for it today.

Alina - nice to get flowers! I haven't cried much lately, but I have been snappy - I guess it's just being sleep deprived for me.
Hope the back pain goes away soon. If you still have it when you have your 6 week checkup youshould mention it. Also hope everything is fine with Aiden regarding the cord.

Bambina - hope that the check up goes well tomorrow.
Unfortunately i was one of those kids who used to steal things at the supermarket:p (when I was maybe about 3-4 yearws old). My mum had to get into the habit of emptying my pockets and checking that I hadn't decided that there was something that had taken my fancy before she went through the register!
My dd1 has "taken" a few things before - not sure if she knew it was stealing as such, but just saw things that she thought were beautiful and so wanted them. Although once she took a makeup compact - not sure she even knew what that was!. She hasn't done it forwell over a year now, but I too, used to make her take it back and say sorry. Even when she was quite little ,probably around 3-4 years old too (perhaps it's hereditary :p) she felt embarrassed taking it back. I didn't want her to neccessarily be embarrassed but I did want her to realise there were consequences for her actions.

misheycat - sorry to hear that your Chloe has been a handful - not fun!
hope the lump is nothing to be concerned about, but if it continues to be there, please see a doctor - even if it is only a blocked duct you have to be careful they don't abcess.
By the way, your Chloe looks similar to mine - I have shown my dh your avatar pictures and even he said he thinks they look similar.

julie - great that Elizabeth is doing well. Can be tiring though when they just want to be held. Hopefully this will only be for a short time and soson she'll being doing something different.

Well, Chloe has just woken, making noises that says she definately wants some attention.

To everyone else - a big hello - hope that you are all doing well and your bubs too.

Take care ladies, Yvonne.

Ellie, I know exactly how you are feeling - we had this for Lachlan.

It was such a shock. I was home alone (plus my parents were away) and I just cried and cried thinking my beautiful baby boy could be sick. It was a horrible time - we too had to go to have the test done the next day (done at monash at the genetic health section). Lachlan had to have the sweat test (guessing Bianca has to have this too) and both DH and i had blood tests to see who was carrying the chromosome for it.

As it turned out, Lachlan is just a carrier (got it from DH who also found out he's a carrier for it).
They test the parents for the 5 main genotypes for the condition - apprently there are hundreds, but 5 main ones, which would have been one of the ones picked up in Bianca.
Both you and dh have to be carriers of the gene for Bianca to have a 25% chance of having the condition as it's a recessive gene.
The sweat test isn't too bad - it doesn't hurt them at all, but I know I was upset at the whole thing because of what it could have meant.

We got the results within less than 2 days and they were the longest 2 days of my life - thank God, he is only a carrier.

A couple of things though from research I found out is one of the main things is that children with cf have alot of trouble putting on weight as they have issues with their digestive tract (it doesn't absorb nutrients). The fact that Bianca is a healthy baby putting on weight nicely, would be a REALLY positive sign that she is okay (and just a carrier too).

We are prepared to get the call again this time (as far as we know Grace isn't a carrier, but the newbron screening doesn't always pcik it up - we will get her blood tested when she is older). It's quite possible that Chloe could also be a carrier.

Please feel free to call me in the morning - i will be up from about 7am, will be out from about 8:30 - 9:30 with kinder drop off, but apart from that I'm more than happy to answer anything that I know, or if you just want a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen!

You and your precious family will certainly be in my prayers.

Love Yvonne

Morning ladies,

DS woke up this morning with a really stinky nappy:barf:, so i ended up just putting him in the shower with me, then I got out and DF got in so everyone is awake and ready for the day. I feel so refreshed and Isabelle is being a happy lil girl this morning blowing rasberries lol, she has also been smiling for the last few days and I know it's not wind:cloud9:

ellie13 - Good luck today and I hope everything turns out ok:hugs:

lgylc - I know what you mean about the neverending washing, there is always something that needs to be washed:rolleyes:

Terrible2+1cutie - Happy Birthday to your son, I hope he has a great day.

cheezelz - I hope the thrush goes away soon and :fingerscrossed: it doesn't pass onto you.

babynumberone - Infant's friend seems to be working for Isabelle. She seems much more content after feeds now but she still hates the taste. How does Zaydn find the taste?

cc - I'm glad things are starting to work out for DH's work. I hope he finds a new job soon.

Everyone else - Hi, how are you all going?

hi girls!

i am soooo trashed this morning. amelia took ages to go back to sleep after her middle of the night feed. i ended up bringing her to bed with me and i think i fell asleep before she did! i woke up a bit later and she was asleep so i put her back in the bassinette then as i didnt want to suffocate her.

well today i am off to the GP to get my BP checked as well as mia's clicky hip. the GP said he will decide today if he thinks she needs an ultrasound. i kinda hope he sends her for one and then that it turns out to be nothing and then i can rest assured she is ok.

the GP is near my mum's house so i thought i would drop over afterwards. this will be the first time mia has visited grandma! mum has the day off work so im hoping she can watch amelia for a while so i can have a sleep!

well ive gotta go have a shower while the little princess is sleeping!

just want to say, ellie i am thinking of you and praying that bianca gets the all clear! i have a boy with CF in my class at school. does bianca seem very congested? that is another main symptom of CF. The boy in my class has to have physio every morning before school to help break up the mucous. sorry i dont mean to scare you, but he is generally a healthy boy and lives a normal life. big hugs for you for the next 2 days.

MY BOY IS SMILING LIKE CRAZY!!!!! Every time I talk to him he breaks out in a little grin. It is really lovely....

He had a shocker during the day again yesterday however today he slept for about 1 1/2 hours in his cot and is now up ready for a feed. :fingerscrossed: he will settle again for me today.

So Bianca had the sweat test done- and like a real champ she slept through it all which made it a lot more pleasant and less stressful. Now we just wait- should have the results tomorrow between 2-3pm........:crying::hissy: longest 24 hours I tell you.

Yvonne- I gathered as much- she is thriving, and I did lick her yesterday:o to see if she tasted salty- and she didn't so I do agree with you that I think she is just a carrier.

CC- thanks for the encourigement- great to know- and good luck with your GP today.

Everyone else- huge thank you for your thoughts... I will try and let you know ho it went.

I just typed a message i fingered and I lost it err....ok so lets try again

well im officially buggered, I think my motherly survival instincts have been over taken by sleep deprivation.... I just want a night off

went to the dr this morning as I am getting so many different ideas of what is wrong woth my boobies ... still getting the sharp pain etc... so he took a swab and even got me to express some milk for a culture...

aiden is still beautiful... starting to be abit more interactive with his surroundings, still not sure if his smiles are real or not

ellie... good luck with biancas results. you must be going through a really tough time. Im still to find out if aiden is ok (just have a kidney scan to go to)... we all just want our babies to be happy and healthy. all the kids I have cared for (very very few) have been tops... but a bit cheaky
p.s how did they make bianca sweat... not like she can run around the block

2 girls.. so cool to hear your bubba is smiling... how amazing u must have been all tinglie

tahnee... I gave aiden some of the concoction that I think is like infants friend... he still screws up his face... its really sucks as I can get all the kid at work to take their meds but my child...

well im going to try really hard to have a mummy nap

see ya

Ellie I feel terrible for complaining about how unsettled Piper has been & your dealing with bigger things. It does make me feel more appreciative that Piper is just a whinger & not really sick.
Before I had children I used to ask expectant mothers what sex baby they wished for. When they answered that they didnt care as long as it was healthy I always thought yeah right Im sure your really wanting a boy/girl. Now that I have children I truly understand their answers and know that I am blessed to have 2 healthy girls.
One of my good friends and her brother both have cf. They are 28 & 30 year old and doing great. Havent been sick for a few years. I used to always get ****ty with her cos she could eat anything she wanted while I had to limit my cheesebuger and sour cream intake.

Well we went to the paed yesterday and isnt it just Murphy's Law for the most of us that when you have a sick kid and take them to the doctors they are angels whilst your there. More annoying is when they are totally better the next day before any medicine is started. Piper woke today in a great mood and is feeding like a champ. No refusal at BF and no screaming at me. Paed also said that I jumped the gun with the thrush so ive stopped the drops. He did say that she could have slight silent reflux (thanks to everyone else that came to that conclusion too). I have ben given a script for Losec but we'll wait and see if she goes back to her old ways before starting that. He also pointed out that she has a hernia under her belly button which makes it stick out.

gonna post this and feed Pip....be back in a bit.

Liana - I keep forgetting to reply to you about G's hormone rash. It's still there, most days it is starting to look like it's clearing up, but some days it's still looking pretty bad. All we can do is wait for it to disappear I guess.

Cheezlezs - glad to hear things are improving with Pip.......hopefully you're over the worst of it now. Don't feel guilty for moaning about your situation, we all deserve and need a good moan every now and then. Even if your situation isn't as bad as someone elses, you're still entitled to feel bad about it! Just my opinion though, please don't shoot me for it.

I'm a bit excited girls as we bought a treadmill off of ebay (well I bought it mainly for me to use, but I'm sure DH will use it too) and DH is picking it up tonight. It's second hand, but was $2500 5yrs ago, so it should be good. This is supposed to help me loose my baby weight, although I've given myself till G is 4 weeks old before I get too serious, and until after xmas/new year before I start to restrict myself foodwise (ie start to cut out all the junk!)

Any ways, better go, Bold and the Beautiful is starting....will check in later

Ok I'm just going to quickly do a me post before i read what's been going on as often after reading everything I've run out of time.

Emily had her immunisations today as she is now 8 weeks. I hate getting it done as she just screamed but i would hate for her to get one of the illness that they immunise against even more. She has been pretty unhappy since getting them and had her first dose of panadol to try and ease her pain. Everytime i touch her legs she crys (it is soo awful). She is sleeping now but keeps crying out.

We had her paed appt yesterday and she is looking really good. Her development is still a bit behind other 8 weeks old babies but that is to be expected since she was 5 weeks prem and really should have only been 3 weeks old. She is not 5 weeks behind though so thats good. She is gaining about 375g a week at the moment and is really starting to chub up. She now weighs 4370g, which is over double her birth weight. Yesterday after i had fed her she looked up into my eyes, gave me a big smile and then chuckled. It was the most precious and wonderful moment. My heart just swelled:cloud9:.

Anyway thats my me post. I will go back now while the other kids are happy watching playschool and read what i've missed.

Hello girls

Marissa: Really glad Emily is doing well with her weight gain and development. Hope she is feeling a bit better after her needles.

Ellie: Good to hear you are doing okay. Hope that you are okay tomorrow. I will be thinking of you.

C & G's Mum: Zaydn has got the same rash I think. Like you said, not much you can do about it, just wait til it goes away. The treadmill sounds great! My bestfriend is a personal trainer and has offered me unlimited free sessions with her - I will take her up on the offer soon, just can't be bothered at the moment! Love the photos of Georgia by the way - I love the stripes look!

Lisa: :fingerscrossed: Piper keeps up her new habits of feeding well and being settled!

Alina: I was very much sleep deprived last week - it's the worse! Everything seems so much harder than it is. Is Aiden still being a boobie monster?

2 Girls: How gorgeous about the smiling! Can't wait til my little one does the huge smiles that people can't say "oh that's not a smile - he just has wind!"

Jasmine: How did Charlie go with his appointments today?

CC: What did the GP say about Mia's hip? And how is your blood pressure?

Tahnee: It's weird I think Zaydn actually likes the taste of infant's friend. If he is crying and I put some drops in his mouth he stops crying straight away and just licks his little lips! So cute about Isabelle blowing rasberries and smiling!

Yvonne: Hey, how has your day been?

Hayley: Love the photos in the photo thread - Ethan is a cutie pie!

T2+1: How are you feeling? Also how have you been going without DP? Hope you have been going okay and that your boys have been good for you!

Big hello to everyone else and their beautiful bubs!

We have had a fairly good day today. I have noticed that Z has lost most of his hair on the front of his head - it's quite funny! Anyone else's bubs losing any hair?

I have booked Zaydn into an osteopath next week which can hopefully sort out his wind issues. I wasn't going to worry about it, but since he will be in a cast for awhile I don't want him to have to deal with wind as well as deal with the discomfort of the cast.

Went to the child health clinic yesterday and Z now weighs 5kg (probably a bit less without the cast). So does that mean I should start buying the next nappy size up instead of the newborn size?

Alright I better get go,

Love Claire x

Hi Girls,

Well i survived Day 1 without DP it was actually fairly easy and come today i was looking forward to spend some time apart seen as we have been living in each others pockets for the last 6 weeks. Then DP came home from work tonight with the flu, and seen as i have been sick myself and almost over it wasn't very sympathetic, all i could think about was i didn't want to get it again and i definately didn't want the boys to get sick.

On the bright side Talon woke at 9, 12, 4 and 7 for a feed last night which i thought was great, after every feed i would put him in the cot wide awake, turn the musical mobile on and walk away and listen to him happy as through the monitor until he fell asleep so i got plenty of sleep. I think with DP being back at work will be easier to get into a routine that i like.

Ellie - i hope Bianca's results come back clear, i will be thinking of you and your family.

Anyway might go get some sleep before Talon wakes up for a feed. hope you girls have a great night.

I agree with you. Everyones problems are relative to their own lives. Even if they seem to be less or more problematic than another persons life your the one that is dealing with it. IYKWIM?
Good Luck with the exercise. Id never thought about buying a tredmill off eBay and Im an eBay junkie.

Came down with mastitis this week - holy hell - what a ball breaker. Got antibiotics on monday night so i am feeling a bit better today. It kills to feed but i am working thru it.

I hope you feel better soon. I had mastitis with DD1 and I felt like Id been hit by a truck. I remeber the night I woke with it. We were living in Renmark for my DH work. I woke in a sweat although I was shivering. I was screaming at DH that the heater wasnt on but he told me that it was and that I had a fever but I was so sick I was just yelling abuse at him. I was apparently delirious with fever. I went to bed with pj's, 2 jumpers, 3 trackies, socks and uggies on and was still freezing. We went to the country hospital in the morning and he gave me penicillin and told me not to feed from that boob cos the milk was infected!! I know now that I was told a load of cr@p. So I had to go thru days of expressing and topping up with formula. Geez I wish all doctors learnt as the same school.

As I was saying before in regards to Pip. She has a herniated belly button. It makes it look like an outie. Paed said it should correct itself by the time she is 3. If not it could increase in size to about a golf ball size. If it starts to get bigger he will put a stitch in the back to correct it.
She weighs 4.2kg so has gained 1.2kg since birth. And is now 57cm long.

hi ladies, have to be so quick - I'm competely stuffed! sooo tired, and should go to bed, Chloe has just settled. Who knows, if she takes a while to settle after her middle of the night feed might come back on here then!

Hair falling out - I think Chloe is starting to - at the front too. Did this with my other 2 kids as well. my dd1 was bald for ages and didn't get her first haircut until she was 3!

Last year bought a treadmill off ebay - really good, excpet that it died earlier this year, my dad thought he could fix it, but we can't find out who to get parts from, so I think it'll go out at the next hard rubbish:no:

Went for a walk today - so nice - beautiful day, great to get ou in the sunshine and get some exercise. First proper walk I've been on for months. Really want to start to get back into shape.

Anyway, better go get some sleep.

Morning Girls,

Well its just me and Talon today, i had the 3 boys out of house by 8.15 this morning to drop them at daycare which is only 5 minutes away. i reckon its easier to get organised when DP is at work lol even though it is only Day 2. Even Talon slept for 5 hours or so at a time last night, i fed him at 6.30, 11, 4 and 8 and he fell straight back to sleep while listening to his mobile after it was great. I had the best sleep. DS1 and DS2 even let me sleep in till 7 this morning cause they got up turned the tv down and watched there cartoons.

Might have a day of pottering around the house today, trying not to overdo myself like i did yesterday.

Ellie - that is fantastic news!!!!:yelclap:

I am going to have a whinge sorry ladies:

the last 4 days(not nights) have been absolute cr*p...... Sean does not sleep during the day for longer than 20minutes :hair:. He is fed, he is not in pain, he has a clean nappy, he is not too hot or too cold. HE IS SO TIRED but will not sleep. It is killing me - I am not dealing well with it at all. If I pick him up and nurse him then he would sleep for hours. I cannot do this with 2 other kids that need me not just for practical things but they need some attention too... they have been so good and understanding but I am starting to feel terrible about it.

As I type this Sean (who just had a big feed by the way) is crying and whinging and has been since about 10:00am this morning. Today in total he has slept for 1 1/2 hours. And I have dealt with it by getting pi#$ed off. Great way of dealing with things paula:hissy:

I am so down I just had to vent.

sorry everyone......

11-09-2008, 17:29
Vent away Paula... I;m about to aswell

I am being so slack today. I had this huge list of things to do but haven't done anything. my house is a mess and the kids are bored, but i am just SOOOOOO TIRED.

Emily did not respond well to her needles. She started vomiting last night and has had a high temp. When i put her to bed she often wakes up not long after screaming. Last night i lost count how many times i got up to her. It must be so terrible and hard for her as i am hardly coping and i'm not even feeling the pain or illness.

She is asleep now in my mum's arms and was due for a feed a couple of hours ago but I just cant bring myself to disturb her (also i just don't want to....i need a break). my other kids are being good but are trashing the place and I cant be bothered doing anything about it....

on that note I will get over myself and get on with the job. Being slack is only making it harder for me later on.

Paula - :hugs: for you. You must be feeling exhausted.....I think what Jasmine says makes alot of sense.

Marissa - I'm the same as you - often have a huge list of things to do. Early in the morning I think it's really achievable, but by dinner time I haven't done much, but I've still been busy all day. Then when I do get a chance to do them, I feel too tired and simply don't want to!

Maybe it's a 3 child thing. I too, have been feeling like I haven't been giving my 2 other children the attention I should. I'm just tired, have so much to do...
I wonder how Monique is going - she now has 6 kids - she must be a supermum!

The thing I want to most that I cant have are sleeps during the day.....I so wish that I could go down for a nap whenever Chloe was asleep, but having 2 older kids that don't have day sleeps makes that pretty much impossible.
Although on Monday's it's the only day I have just me and Chloe between 9-3. And then I don't feel anywhere near as tired - but I did make myself have a sleep last monday because I knew I would regret it if I didn't. i think that because I've just had the weekend (and have had a bit of a break) and then only having Chloe is sooooo much easier than all 3 kids it's just no where near as tiring.
I think that MIL is coming tomorrow - if she's here I might ask her to take out the older kids for a while, or even just have a nap at home while they are here.
If not, I'll wait until saturday and then hopefully get a sleep then.

I've got a bit of a cold at the moment, it's very typical that in the evenings and first thing in the morning I feel pretty awful.
When i cough it really hurts in my chest and glands are so sore.Plus my nose is like a tap! I've felt reasonably okay during the day, but now don't feel too good at all.
And now I really do need to do stuff, and don't want to!

Chloe is 6 weeks old tomorrow. This time 6 weeks ago I was getting the last minute things done at home before getting ready to go to hospital the next morning. The time has flown - I don't think I've ever had 6 weeks go so fast in my life before.

Anyway, must make myself go and do these things I need to do. Chloe will need another feed soon and then I'm going to bed. Then I will make myself go to bed straight after her feed!

Take care ladies, Yvonne

I spoke to my friend about my funny milk... I expressed after a feed so it was verry fatty.. most of the milk is thick only a slight bit water now that it has been in the fridge... so Im thinking it was to thick to fit through the holes and just got stuck... I shook the clotted bits they broke up and went back to milk... hmmm am I making any sence... im going to chuck it just incase.

Your milk sounds perfectly normal to me. After you have expressed if you leave the milk to stand it will seperate after a few hours. The fat rises to the top and can look chunky or lumpy. Just give it a good shake before you heat it and the fatty lumps will easily melt and remix with the watery milk part.
The first milk that comes out of your boob when you feed will be very watery. This milk is to quench a thirst. You will notice in summer that bub will have shorter feeds of this milk when they are only thirsty but not hungry. After the bub has been feeding for a while the milk turns thick and fatty. This milk is for the proper feed and fills the stomach better. Its this milk that babies need to gain weight and thats why you need to empty a side before using the other boob.. If you expressed at the end of a feed you would be expressing the fattier, thicker milk.

Hope this makes sense.

Hello girls.

Well i have been reading, but not posting, thats very slack of me. The latest on Ryden is that he has put on another 450gm this week. Thats 4 weeks in a row he has put on between 450 and 490gm. (little Piggy.) THe biggest acheivment is that tonight i feed him, then he only drank 60mls of his bottle instead of the full 150ml and was out cold. Which means hopefully my milk supply is getting more and more. Up untill tonight he would drink from me for an hour and still take a full 150ml bottle. Also he has been breast feed all day from 8 am this morning with no formula top up. So hopefully in the next few day he can come off the formula (except for his night feed) and be mostly boobie feed. The MHN dosnt want me to take him fully of the formula yet so we can keep an eye on his weight. And if he dosnt go formula, and im still keen to feed him during the night then we will ditch the formula in a couple off weeks.

hopefully this will continue, and it is not a once off. Let hope the boobies keep working,

Stacey

Stacey - often I read and not post as these days I seem to be quite busy! Funny about that:p.

Great news about Ryden's weight gain. Sounds like what you are doign is going well. Also, great that your milk supply is increasing.

Can you believe our bubba's are 6 weeks old tomorrow??? It's gone so quickly.....

Hi Girls,

I've been pretty tied up with Chloe over the last few days and have been reading also but too tired to post so campergirl don't worry your not the only one :)

Lianas1stbub - Cheezelz explanation was perfect but I agree my breast milk in the fridge does the same thing with the fatty portion on top until I shake it then heat for Chloe.

2girlssofar - Sorry to hear about Sean, Chloe has similar bouts of unsettledness 5-6hrs of awake time with several feeds, changes and lots of cuddle times in there. Hope things get better for you both! :hugs:

Ellie13 - l wanted to say I'm so glad to hear your good news about Bianca :yelclap:, I was sad to hear your initial news but so happy for you that it worked out all for the best, poor thing must of been an agonising 24-hrs!

Lyglc - Regarding your comment the other day I had another looksie at your photos of your Chloe and I agree our bubs do look similar, so we did well naming them! :)

Campergirl - Congrats on Ryden's weight progress and also your supply increasing!

Big Hi to everyone else I may have missed.

Me - Get ready for some :ecomcity:...

Well my lump finally seems to have vanished so I'm feeling a lot better, must of been a persistent blocked duct :p, trust me to freak out.

Chloe has been a bit all over the place, still has biggish chunks of unsettled time but then will sleep for 3-4 hrs (once even slept a good 5-hrs) afterwards, so it kinda balances itself out. Part of me suspects she might have reflux or a mild case, she spends so much time grunting and pulling her legs up to her belly and cries in pain occasionally, she also tends to vomit a bit, infants friend doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot for her.

Also going to start my health kick & exercising tomorrow, I bought a treadmill the week before I discovered I was pregnant (ironic really) and I haven't used this pretty much for 8-months so will make an effort to do 30minutes at least and I'm going to start dieting as I gained a MASSIVE amount of weight when pregnant and have been a bit depressed about this.

Anyhow sounds like Chloe is stirring for her next feed, better go.

Michelle

Misheycat - I'll have to get a more recent photo of Chloe up too with her eyes open. I do have some on the camera but dont know how to download only a few shots onto the computer rather than putting every shot that is on there on the computer again and therefore doubling up alot of the photo's.

So glad to hear that the lump has gone away:yelclap:. You must be feeling relieved.

I wish my treadmill worked. I guess though with the weather being a bit nicer now I'll have to make the most of it and go for walks outside. I couldn't use the treadmill when the kids were awake anyway because theywould try to get on it too.
I really want to lose weight. I had got back to nearly my pre-pregnancy weight, but now it seems I've put on a couple of kg's. Need to get motivated and also stop snacking all the time.
I had only put on a reasonably small amount of weight when pregnant, but had put on a fair bit while ttc so I would like to lose all that too.
I know when bf it's important not to lose too much too quickly. I have heard that the toxins your body gets rid of when losing weight can go into the breastmilk so it's no good for baby. I guess slow and steady is the best way to go, although for me I'm a bit better at a all or nothing approach. Guess I just need to eat healthy and start exercising - now Chloe's 6 weeks old i can start to do some exercising.

But I don't think I'll be doing any exercise today, feel awful, my chest is so sore and every time I cough it's really bad. Feel like my glands are really sore too and also my back. Can't complain too much though as it's the first bad cold I've had this year (I think)

Anyway, should get back to bed, chloe has gone to sleep I think and I certainly need me rest at the moment.

Hope all of you are sound asleep........

lgylc - I have found that I have put on 1kg or 2 as well. I really want to buy a treadmill so I can get back into shape but we just don't have the money atm. I guess I better get some motivation and get out walking:p. I hope you get better soon too.

misheycat - I hope Chloe settles in to more of a routine for you. I find that Isabelle grunts a lot too and pulls her legs up like she is in pain sometimes. On occasion I think the infant's friend is working but then other times I know it's not. It didn't even occur to me that it could be reflux because DS never had any of these things so it's all a bit new to me.

campergirl - Good to hear that your milk supply is increasing.

rissa79 - I hope Emily is feeling better today and you were able to get a good night's sleep last night. My housework just seems to keep piling up as well. I was up at 5 this morning and just couldn't get back to sleep so I have a load washing on already, hopefully I don't slack off today and I get it done.

2girlssofar - :hugs::hugs: Isabelle is similar to Sean, she sleeps fine at night but during the day she can be a nightmare. At the moment, she is lightly sleeping in her bouncer with me bouncing it and the vibration on. If I go out in the car, she will sleep while we are moving but as soon as we stop she starts whinging again. For the last 3 days she has had a really cranky period from 2pm - 6pm where she just doesn't want to be settled, it gets really frustrating. I hope Sean starts to settle for you soon so you can relax a bit.

Ok, thats it from me for now, DS is whinging for me to get him out of his highchair. I like it when he's in there because I don't have to worry about where he is when I put DD down. Yesterday out of no where, DS turned around while I was feeding Isabelle and slapped her on the face:eek:. It was so unexpected luckily she's ok. I said to Isabellle that she'll get him back when she gets older:p

Just a quick one, as I have to get DD ready for school and than I am going out wit BF for a coffee.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and thinking of us- it was a much better nights sleep. DH cracked a $60 bottle of wine that he has been storing, and after I fed Bianca I even had a glass.........we are so releived. To think of all the things she would have to go through in her life just make me shudder.

We just wait to see now, who is the carrier- I hope it is only one of us, as that would put us down to having next child with CF to 1 in 500. If it is both of us than it is 1 in 4 and wqe would have to have a good talk about how we are going to have more kids. But ATM we are just so happy, can't even describe it.

Paula- I agree with the sling- when Bianca has a very unsettled day- that is the only place she will sleep- in my arms or in the sling, nowhere else, it is hard, but at least I have 2 hands to do things- she is in a sling as we speak, and I am getting DD ready for school.

Everyone else- huge hello- hope you all have a GREAT DAY.

This has been quite tricky for me trying to work out a good way to lose weight. A couple years before falling pregnant I lost 20kgs by doing a shake diet (with minimal exercise) but I can't go on this again due to feeding Chloe expressed BF. So think this time I need to just watch what I eat and exercise, minimise the junkfood, snack on fruit instead of chips and chocolate and try and cut out juices/softdrink and OD on water and HOPEFULLY this will do the trick. :fingerscrossed:

Lyglc - Hope you are feeling better soon! :hugs:

Tahnee11 - Hope Isabelle improves for you during the day, not sure why our bubs are so naughty! Occasionally Chloe does this a night too which is VERY annoying.

Ellie13 - Good luck with the test results for CF, hopefully its just one of you and it won't u affect having more kids! Glad you both had a stress-free night.

Slings - I've noticed lots of people have these, initially I wasn't comfortable with the idea of using one but more and more people tend to have them and the idea that I can still do stuff whilst Chloe is wanting to be held is appealing. DH bought a Fisher Price Baby Carrier that he uses sometimes but it's not really for me as it feels a bit awkward. Is there a particular brand or type of sling that you girls use?

I had the baby carrier with DS but this time I bought a Peanut Shell Baby Sling from Babies Galore and i love it. I use this when i go shopping and Isabelle just sleeps. I have heard the baba sling ones are really good too.

I have been reading but not responding...

Ellie13: Congrats!! I can imagine your relief on getting the results.

babynumberone: Might seem like a stupid question but at what age can you start using the sling? My bub is 2 weeks today and I am not sure if he is too small to be put in sling and carried around.

2girlssofar: I can imagine your frustration. Yash has been behaving like that during the day and it was driving me nuts. alos, turning me into a paranoid mum thinking something is not right with him. I am thankful that my mum is here to stay with me and she calms me down. Hopefully sean is settled by now:hugs:

michelle - I had a similar thing. After dd1 was born and I stopped breastfeeding I decided that i really needed to lose weight and lost about 20kg/s (sureslim). It was relatively easy to lose and I didn't do any huge amounts of exercise just walking - it was all food controlled. Had lots of protein and vegies and minimised carbs. It was quite boring though as far as your food...
Today I decided that I'm going to start one day at a time.
So I'm going to try to eat more protein (keeps you feeling fuller for longer) and less carbs. I'm only going to have fruit or veg for snacks today and drink heaps of water.
That's today's plan. If I think it's just one day at a time it makes it easier than saying for the next 3 months I wont have any nice snacks!.

Don't feel up to walking today (because of my cold) but I will try to get some light exercise in over the weekend.

One motivation that I had after dd1 was born was that I always tried to have her looking really pretty - nice clothes etc. I didn't want to be a fat, ugly mum, who had a gorgeous daughter. I didn't like the clothes I wore because I tried to have clothes that hid my body more. So I decided that I wanted to be a "yummy mummy ". Anyway, lost the weight - felt fantatsic, but then I got pregnant with ds - I was so hungry his whole pregnancy and I couldn't stand eating vegetables. So I put in heaps of weight with his pregnancy. Afterwards lost a fair bit of what I put on, but then the year while ttc #3 I put it all back on - It was mostly emotional eating I think.

Anyway, now that I have another little daughter who will wear pretty clothes, that will give me the motivation I hope so that I too can wear pretty clothes again. My wardrobe is so limited in what i can wear at the moment and I certainly want to lose weight before it gets warmer.

Mayve I should go into the weightloss threads and do a diary or just see what's going on in there to give me some extra motivation.

Anyway, must go, I do want to get some things done today.

Hope you are all having a great day!

hey
I have been trying to get on here all morning but I keep getting side tracked by my little boobie monster
and now my batteries are getting low errrrr

I really wanted to catch up on the gossip and have a chat... but I cant, Im stuck on the couch until aiden wakes up... he wont sleep for more than 30 min anywhere else

well atleast he went 6 hrs between a feed last night, I feel im in a better head space today (does that even make sence)...

EBM... I have a feeling that the big clot of milk may have been caused by me not cleaning the valve properly...
what I have expressed is mostly the hind milk as when it seperates there is hardly any watery wilk at the bottom
thanks for your advice... i really apreciate it... u girls are to helpful:p

ill pop in for a better catch up latter

Hi girls,

I'm another who can be accused of reading but not writing!!! I guess my stalking days aren't over yet, LOL!!!!

Ellie Great news about Bianca!

Bambina I can understand how you must feel........not much fun at all!

hi to everyone else, I agree with all the , other comments made so far so won't repeat them.

Me - G fed at 10:30 last night and then slept until 6am this morning. I'm loving that she sleeps so well overnight. I'm sure it's got to do with feeding her frequently during the day (still 2 1/2 - 3 hours) so am loathe to change it and let her feed on demand in case it ends. I think it's also got to do with how much awake time she has too. G had quite a bit yesterday as she had 2 very unsettled periods that lasted a few hours. Today, she's slept most of the day, so I'll wake her and play soon. We'll see how she goes overnight!!

I finally managed to write my birth story. If you can be bothered to read my waffle here's the link....
http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?p=3036673#post3036673

I got to the end and went WOW! It goes for ages, but really isn't all that exciting. I guess I put way too much detail in there!!

Gotta run, we've got friends coming for dinner. C & G have been well behaved today and I've managed to clean the house, but need to vacuum still.

Cya later girls!

Well had a very nice day- BF couldn't come for the coffee, as she had some gastro, but 2 mums from DD's class came- so we had fun, fun, fun.

Bianca is such an angel:cloud9:- u still can't wipe the smile off my face after the great news yesterday.

Anyways-

Alina- I really hope it clears up for you soon- poor thing- one thing after another.

Monique- sounds like she is doing really well- great to hear.

C&G mum- great story, sounds like you had a positive experience, great to hear. And it sounds like u really do have magic milk- how do you do it.

Yvonne- I hope you'll feel better soon and that your cold goes away really fast.

Bambina- that's a shame that he doesn't like the sling- I found them great!!! And yep- DH's can drive you rather crazy :hissy: sometimes- u gotta love them.....

Slings- I have baby moe sling, and it's great. I used it since pretty much new born too. I use it mainly around the house when Bianca is unsettled and wants to be held all the time. I wouldn't be without it anymore.

Weight loss- well I would love to loose 15kg at maybe, but I am no going on any diets. When I BF I am so hungry.......and I really don't want to risk restricting the supply just because I want to look hot...
And I am also not really sure if it is worth it, as we would like to start trying for another bub after Binaca's 1 st birthday, so my body will get fat again anyway:rolleyes:.....hmmm maybe I will leave the dieting untill fter I am finished having kids. I am only really about 5-10kg's over my ideal weight anyway ATM, and hope I'll loose it naturally.

Ok I will leave it there for the time being..... a huge:wave: to everyone I ahve missed and hope you all have a great night.

monique - happy birthday for tomorrow - hope you have a fantastic day!

alina - 6 hours - that's great! lucky you!
Bummer about the staf infecton. It's funny you saying about being on fluclox. I used to work in a pharmaceutical lab (finished there last year when got made redundant) and fluclox is one of the drugs I used to test - brings back memories!

C&G - Georgia went even longer than Aiden - you girls are very lucky.
Chloe is just waking for the one feed each night around 3 am so I'm finding that pretty good. she generally settles pretty easily too.
I will try a day of feeding maybe every 2.5 hours and see if she sleeps through!
Good on you for writing your birth story!

Ellie- so pleased that you are still so happy. I feel your relief (after going through the same thing with Lachlan).

well as for me.... I'm feeling a bit better, this evening I don't feel as bad as last night so I'm hoping that i'm improving. Pretty stuffed up in my head, but oh well!

Been a good girl today - only snacks I had were fruit, drank over 2 litres of water, and then just 3 meals. Hopefully i will stay motivated longer than 1 day:laughing:

Tomorrow we are taking Chloe for some pixifoto's - now they are digital it's really good as you can see them straight away and know they look okay.

Have a bit of a busy weekend, but still hoping to get at least one nap, preferably one each day, but we'll see.....

Anyway, better get going. I think I'll wake Chloe for a feed in a minute because I want to go to bed!.....and it's probably close to an hour after I start to when she'll be settled asleep in bed, and then I can go to bed too.

Sleep well ladies.

Anyway, she doesn't want to go to sleep so she's in my arms as a type this, just looking up at me. Please go to sleep...oh a yawn, I have hope!

I have not much to say at all....just thought I'd pop on here and pass some time.

Happy Birthday Monique!!!!!

Lygylc - I really think it's the feeds during the day that make a difference. G slept most of the day yesterday, so i thought I'd have a bad night with her awake. She only had 1 side at her feeds at 2:30, 5, 7:30 and 10 so thought fo sure she'd wake earlier, but she slept until 4:20 and had a massive feed - 15min one side and 5-10 on the other!!!! I generally give her 7 or 8 feeds a day, so after last night I think I might start to let her go a little longer. She's still asleep as we speak almost 4 1/2 hours after her last feed!!

I think we're going to the zoo today, it's going to be a glorious day, so we thought we'd make the most of it!

gotta run, DH is making pancakes for breakfast and I think mine is ready.....I love saturdays!

I'm here! I'm not dead!

But my computer was for a few days...

There is waaayyy too much to catch up on so I will have to pick it up from here.

I stayed over at mum's last night and it was so great to have her and my sister look after Amelia so I could catch up on some sleep. I recommend it to anyone else who has family close by!

DH has given Amelia the flu... grrr... She has had a very unsettled stomache. I don't know if it's because she is sick or if it's from the formula I am giving her. I have already switched brands so I'll have to keep an eye on it. I am still expressing and giving her what I get in a bottle too and I am finally starting to enjoy her a lot more! I was so worried that I was feeling so negative towards her all the time. I'm so relieved to be feeling better, although I do feel a bit guilty that I'm not BFing anymore as I know how good it is for her.

On a different note, my mum's fiance's daughter (my future step-sister) is coming to stay with mum on Tuesday for 10 days. I have never met her before so I'm not sure whether to be excited or nervous! At least if she is nice we can spend some time together and I will have some adult company.

My two cousins and one of their daughters are coming down from Newcastle for lunch tomorrow. It will be nice for them to meet Amelia and to catch up with them.

What is everyone else up to lately? Anything planned for the weekend?

Hi everyone,
I have missed the last couple of days so I will try to catch up and do some personals and I appoligise if I am a bit behind in the times.

Ellie: SO glad to hear bubs is good, I hope only you or DH is the carrier.

Monique: happy birthday, I hope oit is today

Bambina: I had dd christened 2 weeks a =go. DH is an atheiast (sp) and I am catholic so she was christened a catholic. When DH and I first got togethor I told DH our children wold be catholic lol. A naming day ceremony is useally performed by a celebrant and is the same as a wedding in the sense that you say some stuff and sign something (purely decorational) and then have a big party lol.

Weight loss: I have already lost 14 of the 20 kgs I put on just by drinking only water and eating no takeout and only a tiny bit of chocolate. I am going to start weight watchers soon (when I find the energy to think about myself) and I am going back to gym in 4 weeks yeah. Until then I am hoping to get dh to drive me to Jacobs ladder (it is a huge staircase in Perth near kings park, it is a couple of hundred steps and tones you up really well) and sit there while i walk up and down it 5 or six times 3 nights a week. I really want ot lose the last 6kg as soon as possible (safely and smartly) so I can byuy new clothes for summer.

Hi ladies,

I'm so happy with Isabelle's night sleeping at the moment. For the last week, she has been asleep by 9pm, she then wakes at 1.30am for a quick feed and nappy change and then she sleeps again til 7am. DF's sister took DS for the day today so it has been so quiet at home with just Isabelle, I got so much done. She slept heaps as well, she has had 3 sleeps today(sleeping right now actually lol) and all were for at least 2hours:smiliedance:. I just hope that this doesn't mean that she is going to be up all night. She's waking up now and she looks so cute:cloud9:. I better go, sorry for lack of personals, I was going to do them but I don't think Isabelle will wait:p

Well what a busy day today- I haven't stopped since this morning, and I am exhausted. went to my friends funeral today- so that was nice and emotional.:crying: She will be really missed, and I mean really, she touched so many peoples lives, I recon there were at least 200-300 people there.

Anyways- well Bianca again thought that it was great to have a play time fom 4am till nerly 6am- after a 11pm and 1am feed....she was so cute, at least I get all those smiles and her talking all to myself:D, but it does leave me a bit tired:sleeping:.

Tahnee- great to hear that you are having good nights-well done- how do you do it???

Uni-mum- great weight loss- wish I could do it so easy.

Alina- welcome to crash our get together- when are you comming to melbourne- we could organise to see you- would love to meet you.

CC- great to hear things are working out with formula- and don't fel guilty- happy mum=happy bub, and that is the main thing.

Jasmine-:hugs: hope you'll feel better soon, hope Dh will help out a bit more for you.
I don't expect or want my DH to help at all-so I don't ever get dissapoined- only plesantly suprised when he actually does something to help. He is such a sweet heart....

Monique- great birthday present.

C&Gmum- hope you had a great time at the zoo.

Yvonne- you poor thing- hope you had a chance to catch up on some sleep.

Morning Girls,

What a beautiful day today is the sun is shining, the birds are singing and my 2 eldest boys haven't had a argument yet.

I went to bed at 8 oclock last night, fed Talon at 10, 12.30, and then again at 5.15 and he went straight back to sleep while lying in his cot listening to his mobile after every feed and i feel great today for having so much sleep. Think i might spend the day baking as just brought the new 4 Ingredients Cook book so dying to try the new recipes.

Hmmm just realized that Tara hasn't been on in a while, wonder how she is and how her Gall Bladder Op went might send a SMS soon.

Just had a look at all the photos in the photo section and you girls all have such beautiful babies, i have to get off my backside and update photos of Talon.

Weightloss - I need to lose lots of weight too, i am already 7 kg's under my pre pregnancy weight by doing nothing. I think cause i was so sick when i was pregnant plus me breastfeeding its just dripping off.

Monique - happybirthday for yesterday, i hope you had a great day. What a nice birthday present you got with Samara smiling, that would of been gorgeous.

I would of liked to have my boys Christened but DP isn't religious in any way and refuses to step foot in a church and i was brought up in the church. In the end we had a semi religious thing so as not to be over bearing on those that don't believe in our backyard with family and friends and our local Baptist Church Paster came and did it. We haven't done anything for Talon yet but with Blaze and Bailey it was lovely and even those without beliefs commented on how nice it was.

Anyway i am off for now to try and get some baking done while Talon is sleeping.

Oh yeah the count down is on 2 and a half weeks till my parents get home from there round Australia trip and see Talon for the first time. Yay.

Hi all

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! We have been having a quiet weekend - it has been great!

T2+1:That cookbook sounds great. Let me know if the recipes are any good - I may have to buy it! How exciting about your parents - the time will fly and they will be back before you know it!

Ellie: Thanks for your comments in the photo thread. The guitar outfit was from 'Cotton On Kids.' I love that shop, they have some gorgeous and very funny clthes for bubs!

Yvonne: :yelclap: for Chloe - what a sweetheart! I bet you feel refreshed today after such a great sleep! How did the pixie photos go?

Tahnee: Glad Isabelle is sleeping so well for you!

Julie: My DH climbs Jacob's ladder quite often. I have never done it personally, but I am told it is a good work out!

Alina: Hope you are still enjoying having your mum around. I love having my mum around. My mother in law...well that is a different story! She is only okay in small (very small) doses!

CC: Hope Mis is feeling better? Enjoy your day with your extended family today.

Jasmine: Hope you had a better night sleep last night? The baby moe is great (like I said before) - 7 different ways to carry newborn-toddler.
We aren't religious so Z won't be baptised. However I did look into having a naming ceremony for him. They are gorgeous, basically you can design them yourself. You can have them at home, in a park, on the beach - anywhere. The celebrant can say some lovely words and "introduce" bub to family and friends. Instead of having godparents you choose guardians. You can release balloons or butterflies or something cute like that. Afterwards you can have a little party with a cake or something! Ohh talking about it makes me want to have one for Zaydn! But I don't think we will....hmmm might have to speak to DH!

C&G's Mum: Did you end up going to the zoo yesterday?

Monique: I hope you are having an extra special weekend! Huge congratulations on becoming an Aunty!

Okay better go. We are visiting my aunty today and then going to a bridal show. We are renewing our vows next year and I get to have the 'typical' wedding ceremony and reception because we didn't have it for when we got married this year (had it at the registry office when a I was 6 months pregnant - with no guests). I don't even know if that makes sense! Anyways, hope you all enjoy the day,

Claire x

I never actually thought of doing that. DF and I are engaged and have been for a while but we just haven't had the money to have the wedding we want. DF suggested just go to the registry office but I don't want to miss out on the dress, the church etc. I never thought to go the the registry office and then have an actual wedding later on. I think I will have to talk to DF about this because I would really like to have the same last name as our kids.

Hi there everyone

We have had an incredibly busy few days so sorry for not posts.

I had an amazing CHN visit us on Friday and give me some tips with Sean and his day time sleeps. Well ever since implementing these he has been a dream during the day AND guess what????? Last night he slept from 8:00pm - 3:30am !!!!!!!:yelclap: :yelclap: Mind you I was up every 30 minutes with Hannah..

My poor darling girl, DH has taken her to the hospital as she has had high fevers for 5 days (cannot get her temp under 39) she is listless and not eating or really drinking. Our local doctor is worried it might be influenza so I am waiting at home for some news as I refused to take Sean to the hosp. :fingerscrossed: she is okay as she looked so sad when the drove away. She wanted her mummy and I had to try and keep Sean away from her which was not easy.

My DH had his little procedure on Friday to ensure there are no more little kidlets!!! I thought I would feel a little sad but I can honestly say that I am perfectly happy with 3 kids and no more.

Anyway Grace and I just made a butterfly leadlight and she is keen to put it on her window so I had better go.

Sorry no personals today but will do some later or tomorrow.

Hi girls,

had another great night with G....she fed at 10ish then went through until 5:50. Yay for LOOOOOOOOONG sleeps. She was rather unsettled from 7ish til about 9 though, so that's not so much fun.

We did make it to the zoo yesterday, C had her face painted like a butterfly and was soo in love with herself afterwards......we couldn't keep her away from a mirror. It took the lady about 5 min to paint her face, so I need to practice now, cos C wants me to do butterflys and all I can manage at the moment are flowers!! Here's a few photos...

Ellie - glad you enjoyed the funeral and had a chance to say goodbye to your friend.(if you can say that about a funeral?)

Glad your getting long sleeps too Yvonne!!

Have fun with your future step sister CC, hope it turns out like you hope!

Hi everyone,

I feel so useless as I am not up at the hospital with Hannah :(.

She has had chest x-rays, blood tests and mucous tests. Apparently their are some shadows on her chest but it isn't pneumonia, she does have a chest infection though so they have put her on antibiotics. She is also dehydrated so has a drip for that as well. Her temp has not dropped below 39 all day even with the drugs they are giving her so they want her in overnight. I feel so sad as I cannot be there with her :crying:. I know DH will look after her but I'm her mummy and I know she will be wanting her mummy..

Ok enough of that I am sitting waiting for my phone call from DH.

Hi everyone.

Well as I said earlier, Chloe slept through last night. I probably only got the same amount of sleep as normal though because she was up an hour earlier, but at least the sleep I had was in one longer block rather than 2 lots.

I should have felt great today, but was still so tired as I have had weeks of not getting enough sleep. I did get a sleep this afternoon though for about 1.5 hours so that was nice.

feeling not too bad at the moment.

2girls - hope that dd is going okay. I can completley understand how you feel, I think as a mum, when you child is sick (especially when that sick) you just want to be with them and protect them - not saying the dad's aren't as good as doing it, but I think it's very instinctive to want to be there. It's a bit like a mother hen, putting all her chicks underneath to protect them...
Hope your other kids stay nice and healthy and that dd recovers very quickly.

Alina - I have sent you a pm regarding catching up. I hope that you are feeling better soon. As well as all the heath issues you've been having, you are also a new mum and that's relly hard in itself!

C & G mummy - charlotte looks gorgeous! yay for Georgia sleeping really well too. Chloe tends to be quite unsettled in the evenings too and just wants to be cuddled - can be so tiring after the day.

Bambina - hi - how are you?

tahnee - maybe a wedding soon?.....

Claire - hope that bridal show went well and you got lots of great ideas!

terr 2 + 1 - great that you got lots of sleep. that cook book sounds interesting - it's nice to have quick easy recipe's - let us know if they taste good as I'd be interested - are they meals or cakes or what kind of food?

ellie - hope that you have another good night with Bianca.

crispy - hope that Amelia gets better really quickly - it's so horrible seeing a baby unwell.

uni-mum- well done on the weight loss! You sound very motivated!

A big hello to everyone else - hope you have all had a lovely weekend.

Paula-:hugs::hugs: just for you,how torn you must be, wanting to be there but not being able to...... I hope she gets better soon and that it is not anything serious.

Yvonne- great to hear that Chloes sleep continues to be great:yelclap:

ALINA- at least you know that what is happening is normal....life does change heaps once you have a little one..... and in lot of ways you didn't even think or expect it to change.

C&Gmum- those pics are adorable- I love doing faicepainting and so wish I could do anything remotely as pretty as that.

Jasmine- How are ya? Hope you're having a great day and DH is helping.

Tahnee- it is a good idea isn't it.....hope you can get your dream wedding eventually.

Claire- have fun at the expo- hope you get some great ideas.

Everyone else- huge hello!!!

Me- so I worked out that Bianca is using my nipples as a dummy big time, and they are starting to be quite sore and not so well for the wear......and we tried and tried but she won't take a dummy......hmmmmm...... sending DH to pharmacy today to buy a different brand and see if that makes any difference.

I just hope that I won't later curse myself for making her have the dummy, when she gets bigger and I will try to teach her not to have it...:( Oh well, see what happens.

Hi everyone,

Well my day has been pretty boring. DF had to work last night so I knew he would probably sleep all day today. However, because I knew he would sleep all day, I told him yesterday that I would take the kids out for the day just so I can get out of the house. DF said that he would be up at 11am and then we would go out for a picnic. So because he said that, i'm still sitting around waiting for him to wake up. I'm so cranky now because I cancelled my plans for nothing.:banghead:. It's now too late to actually get the kids ready for anything so i'm a bit peeved.

ellie13 - I find Isabelle is doing the same with my nipples and she just won't take to a dummy either. I have tried 2 different types so far and she doesn't like them so I think I will just have to put up with it

lyglc - I hope Chloe slept thru last night so you feel more refreshed today.

2girlssofar - I hope Hannah is feeling better today and well enough to come home. It must be hard not being able to be with her:hugs:

lianas1stbub - I have 2 of those dvds but I still haven't sat down to watch it yet, I probably should lol

Hi there girls

How is everyone?

Tahnee: Hope you are able to go ahead with the picnic or at least spend some family quality time together. Maybe you should get Dylan to "accidently" wake up daddy :p
Weddings are great, hey! You will be able to have your kids as a page boy and flower girl - that would be adorable!

Ellie: We have found Z likes the cherry shaped dummies best. However, in saying that, he has recently started to spit the dummy out after about five minutes of sucking or stick his tongue out when we're trying to put it in his mouth! I hope you find one that B likes. I'm sure you will have no problem getting rid of it when she no longer needs it. At work (child care centre) the 'dummy fairy' used to visit all the time and take away dummies from the toddlers when parents no longer wanted their child to have one.

Yvonne: How are you today?

Paula: How is Hannah today? I really hope she is feeling better and able to come home to be with you :hugs:

When you are feeling up for it and Hannah is better, would you mind letting me know the tips the CHN gave you for Sean's daytime sleeps. I am having a bit of trouble trying to get Zaydn to sleep any longer than an hour during the day (unless he is very close to me).

Alina: How are you feeling? I hope the infection is clearing up. We watched that DVD too - I thought it was quite good.

C&G's Mummy: Charlotte looks gorgeous - no wonder she couldn't stop looking at herself!

Jasmine: I love Charlie's cloth bum! It looks like you are really enjoying the MCNs! We have Bambino Mios for Zaydn but I have to admit he has only worn one once. As bad as this sounds, I just haven't been bothered putting him in them but I really should make an effort especially since we have spent so much on disposables!

Big  to everyone else!

The bridal fair was great, lots of great ideas! And it was held where we are going to have our ceremony and reception (Willow Pond in Canningvale). We have also decided to have a naming ceremony for Zaydn during our ceremony. So the day will be about him as much as it is about us.

Went to hospital this morning to get Z's leg cast re-done. His foot looks so different, it has really improved! His doctor is really impressed with the progress. We were able to bath him which was lovely. His cast for this week is red (was blue last week)! He has been a little unsettled since but that is understandable.

Better go -

Love Claire x

P.S: I'm loving the photos in the photo thread. All the bubs are such cuties - we are all so lucky :cloud9:

tahnee11

babynumberone - I figure it's too late for a picnic now so i'm just going to let him sleep and when he wakes, he will be doing a lot of 'looking after the kids time:laughing:'. I can't wait til we get married, I can just see Dylan walking down the aisle as page boy:cloud9:. We will get there eventually, we just need to save a bit financially. Glad to hear you were able to give Z a bath and that his foot is improving, thats great news:thumbsup:

Oh bugger, gotta go do the school run...just wanted to pop in quickly and announce that I bought a Bubba Moe & I'm loving it!!

:smiliedance: You won't regret it!

Here is a pic of Zaydn in mine.

What colour did you get? Mine is black with white stripes. I brought mine secondhand (the lady I brought it from recieved it as a gift and didn't like it, only used it twice) so I didn't get a choice with the colour. But I probably would have gone for a basic colour like black anyway.

Well Bianca is, sort of, taking the dummy now:smiliedance:- and not the new one we got today- but while Dh went out and get one, she succombed to the one I had at home. She settles so much faster with it. It got to the point that my nipples are too sore to touch, so I figured, they need a break. Also B started to chuck a lot lately, and I figured it must be from all the sucking she was doing. So we will see how we go, hopefully we have crossed the line now, and she got the idea.

And she looks so cute with it :cloud9:.....

Anyways...

Claire- he looks very comfy in that sling, and what a great photoe- I love it. How is Z doing tonight with his fancy new cast???

Jasmine-:yelclap: on buying the sling- I love mine- you won't regeret it, I promise.

Tahnee- wello I hope Dh has redeemed himself and gave you a break in the avo. I basically stopped giving B the option of the nipple, cause it was so sore, so if I have fed her and I assumed that she was full (as you can tell by the way they suck on you BBS) I just closed the shop-:D

Well a huge hello to everyone I have missed and hope you all have a great night.

Hi girls...

Sorry I have not read the thread at all so I apologise for the lack of personals.

All is going well here. Ashton is 8.5 weeks old and doing well. Smiles here, there and everywhere... just gorgeous !!

Kaelan (DS1) is still playing up a bit... but I kinda expected it. The first few weeks were definately rough... but it's all falling into place now.

Anyways... just thought I'd drop in quickly to say hello. I'll endeavour to read back through the thread when I can find two minutes to scratch myself.

Hope everyone is going well.

Morning Girls,

:smiliedance:Talon only woke once last night for the second night in a row, it sure makes a difference to your day to day operations having so much sleep at night.

I thought i was getting Mastitis yesterday as my boob was sore and i was feeling generally unwell so i went to the doctor and he said he thinks i might just have a blocked milk duct, but he gave me some tablets to take if i feel it is getting worse.

I got a message from Tara last night too. It said.

"Things have been pretty rough the last few weeks unfortunately. No Operation yet. most likely next month depending what the surgeon says"

Bambina - The 4 ingredients cook book has everything doesn't it , i have both of them now but i don't cook as much out of them as i should but i am going to start cause everything in them are soooo easy. I cooked a peanut butter biscuit recipe out of the first one the other day and my boys absolutely loved them and they only took 2 seconds to make.

Ellie- Yay on getting Bianca to take the dummy. I have only had to use the dummy on Talon once in 5 weeks but at least i know he will take it for when i need it in a hurry.

Babynumberone - Zaydn looks adorable in his pouch

Paula - I hope everything is going ok with Hannah, it must be hard for you knowing that you have to take a step back and let DH look after her.

Anyway i should go as Talon just started having a little whinge. Have a good day girls.

Hi girls :flowerz:

Just a quick one as I am off to meet my step-sister-to-be who is visiting from the USA for the first time today. Im nervous and exctied. I hope she is nice...

Amelia smiled back at me yesterday! :cloud9: She has smiled for ages, but not meaningful smiles, just for no reason kind of smiles. So when I smiled at her and she smiled straight back at me it was so heartwarming!

Tried to book her into daycare for next year and the place was full! I had to go on a waiting list. I dont know what im gonna do with her when i have to go back to work...

Anyway, I have to fly. Have a great day everyone!

Rydens Mummy
16-09-2008, 10:49
Hi girls,

Im glad everything is going so well, and hope all those that are unwell get well soon.

Ryden had his 6 week check with the doctor yesterday and all is well. He is pleased at his weight gains over the last few weeks. He was alittle concerned at the start. He also reminded me about immunisations in 2 weeks. I already feel sad for him. I use to take my friends kids to get there needle and i didnt worry me at all. But whe Ryden got his needle after he was born, i nearly cried for him.

I have a really weird question. Since i have been both breast and bottle feeding Ry, some time with a formula top up if i thought he was hungry after a breast feed. How do i know he is full after being on the boob. I ask becasue he is a little piggy and will take more until he chucks it up. SO i can feed him for an hour on the boob, i suspect he is full, but i can also offer him a bottle and he would take it. (then vomit it up a little later) I Have just feed him half hour ago (Breast) , and put him down for asleep, he grizzled for a little while. Now is asleep.

Any thing i should look put for when feeding him, that are signs of him being full.

I just feel that he is having far too much to drink in one feed.

HI ladies,
Hope everyone is going well and getting some decent sllep.

I have a quick question to ask ; to all those that exclusivly breastfeeding (feel free to answer if your not though) has anybody had their period yet? if so how many week s after bubs was born. I am getting really sore breasts, but no lumps (so not mastitus) and my stomach is a bit bloated, so dh thinks I am getting my period, blah!!

What size clothes is everyones bubs in? Elizabeth is almost out of 000 her length is causing the problems

Claire: I have to ask this because we are in the area, but are you looking for a band to play at your wedding? I am in a band that plays at a lot of weddings, and we are pretty cheap. If you are interested our website is www.smoothmusic.net (http://www.smoothmusic.net). I don't now when it was last updated as The person who does that is about to go away for three months but it can give you an idea of what it is all about. Anyway enough of that, won't bug you again about it, feel like a pushy sales person otherwise:)

Anyway I had better go, gotta do housework and some uni stuff while I am feeling slightly motivate.

HI ladies,
Hope everyone is going well and getting some decent sllep.

Elizabeth is almost out of 000 her length is causing the problems

.

I exclusively BF DS and I didn't get my periods til he was 6months old, I hope that is the same again this time. Everyone is different though so it is hard to tell. DD is out of her 000 bonds wondersuits but is still fitting everything else. She has a big belly so her tights/pants will probably start being too tight soon as well.

campergirl - Sorry I can't help you with the feeding question. DD just feeds and feeds. I am interested to know if there is signs of them being full though

stacey - ive been thinking amelia is drinking too much too. sometimes after her bottle she just wont settle, even with a dummy and then she starts frantically sucking on her hands as if she hasnt even been fed! so i end up giving her more and then she settles. she does sick up sometimes, though and is putting on lots of weight so i just dont know if im feeding her too much. i usually wait for as long as i can for her to settle before i give her more because i want to make sure its hunger and not that she has wind or just wants to suck but that means i have to hold her (and stay up if its in the middle of the night!) until i can tell. if you get some answers, i would be interested to know how to tell faster!

hi ladies, sorry I've been so busy over the weekend and today so haven't had much time for bubhub.

Chloe is generally doing really well, apart from being quite unsettled in the evenings.

Last night she had another long sleep, last feed was 10pm and then had next feed at 5am.

Although went to my parents today and had a 1.5 hour sleep there as I was just so tired. I'm finding that I still need to catch up on sleep whnever I can as I seem to be getting about 6 hours sleep per night on average. I really need at least 7 hours, would love maybe 10!

Anyway, must go and help dh with Chloe. Srry for no personals, but I am thinking about you all. But just want to say icugal, nice to hear from you...

Take care, and maybe sometime I'll have the time to do a bigger post.

Hi Girls,

I am feeling a little better today, i started the tablets last night cause i was just soooo sore and really feeling very unwell. As far as bleeding is concerned I am still having after birth blood loss and Talon is 5 weeks old now. It comes and goes but when it comes it gushes and is bright red. I asked my Gyno about it last week and he said you can generally bleed up till 6 weeks. I guess i will reaccess the situation in a week or so to whether i should get it checked out. I remember after DS1 i had to get a tablet to stop me from bleeding cause after 4 months was still having a bleed. I do know my AF returned to normal after all my bleeding was sorted after all my kids and i exclusively breastfed DS1 and 90% breastfed DS2.

As with the size clothing Talon is wearing he still wears mainly size 000 but he is almost to big for them so won't be long before he is in 00.

CC i hope you had fun meeting your step sister today and that it was a great experience for you.

I generally feed Talon till his sucking slows right down, when i take him off his belly is that full that he just can't swallow the little bit of milk in his mouth so he spits it out. It is real cute.

Anyway girls just got home from my in laws for dinner so i am going to go sit and eat ice cream while watching packed to the rafters and all saints. Have a good night.

Hi girls- will be really quick as I feel I should spend some time with DH-lol- watching tv???

Anyway- great to hear everyone is doing quite well, and reaklly nice to hear from Penny.

Took Bianca to GP today, as her eye got worse- it still hasn't cleared up at all, and it has been 4wks- so she gave her more antibiotic drops, as it is infected, and took some culture to send off to a lab for analysis- so have to wait till Fri- if the eye isn't any better on friday she will be ringing the Royla Childrens Hospital for specialist advice-hmmmmmmm..... and tomorrow the poor poppet will ahve her needles, so she is really in the wars.....

Anyways- I will go, as I am exhausted- but hopefully I will be able to catch up tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great nite.

forgot to reply to the feeding question, With Elizabeth I have to stop her feeding and put a dummy in her mouth. If she takes it she has finished. Also when she stops feeding (still attached though) I take her off even though the minute I move her she tries to suck more.

Anyway don't know if that helps but though tI would add my two cents worth :)

Ellie- Hope Bianca'a eyes get better, I feel so lucky that Elizabeth is healthy.

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG

G fed (one side only) at 10:15 last night, then I HAD to wake her at 6:45am this morning to feed her as my bb's were exploding!!!!!!

I am soooooooooooo in love with G, she's such a good girl, makes up for her naughty/cheeky/trying/normal big sister. LOL

I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts, cos I'm sure sooner or later G will decide she's making it too easy for me and change it all up!

Hope you all have a good day. We've got C's swimming, then I'm taking her to get a haircut.

Better run and get a shower while I can, Cya

Hope everyone had a great sleep. We did, but the wretched alarm woke me up every 4 hours to give Bianca her eye drops- and....Bianca fed in between those hours......so I had a lot of broken sleep:laughing:

Anyways- C&Gmum- wow- that is a long sleep- well done- hope it lasts for a while.

Jasmine-:hugs: I am so grateful that I don't really have to go to work. Not that we are rich, we are actually not well off at all, but we have really made sure that we don't have much to pay- we are renting, and and basically downsized from what most people have- and this means I can stay at home with the kids, which I am so grateful for:bee:....I really couldn't face going to work, so I really feel for you:hugs:. My work actually rang me yesterday if I want to work 2 days a week, I said not at the moment, as she is only 7 wks- they forgot how old she is, thay thought she was much older.

Anyways I better go, as Bianca woke up and wants a feed.

Hope you all have a great day.

Morning Girls,

Thought I'd do a post since I have been MIA for a few weeks now... I actually have a spare 5 minutes to myself.

The past few weeks have been pretty horrid, Little E and I have just spent the past 5 days in hospital so it has been fun times... NOT! We are both exhausted from the whole experience. He has not been sleeping during the day and has been basically awake from 7am until 10.30pm most days, except for the occasional cat nap of between 30 mins to 1 hour usually once a day if I am lucky. He may have a 2 hour sleep once a week or so. This has been pretty much over the past 4-5 weeks. As a result I am exhausted as I was only getting around 4 hours sleep a night if that.

I have also lost heaps of weight (which I am not too unhappy about), the Dr's and nurses are though. Breastfeeding has been excruciating and I have lost count of the number of people that have looked at my (.)(.), I feel like I may as well have them permanently on show! Dr thought I might have mastitis so I tried ab's, didn't work. The MACH nurse thought I had thrush, the daktarin gel made my nipples burn so I had to stop that, now I am trying nilstat drops.... who knows if that will work.

Little E has been on Losec for reflux which he got a rash from so I discontinued it and the rash is clearing up... he still has a bit of the newborn rash but the angry rash has started to clear up. He is still :barf:unfortunately as well as showing all the other great other signs of reflux so we are off to the Dr this afternoon to see what we can do.

I'll leave it there, thanks girls for thinking of me.

Tara

Hi Girls - I am just posting so that you don't forget i exist. All is going ok here. Emily is growing really well and someone the other day even copmmented that they theought she was big for an 8 week old baby (funny since she was only meant to be 3 weeks at that stage). She has been feeding every two hours during the day the last few day s and even though she was going about 5 hours at night, has gone back to 3hourly. Last night she decided that she wanted to play between 1am and 3:30am. I wasn't too impressed. I was even less impressed though when dd1 decided at 4:30 that it was morning. so i think i totalled about 3.5 hours of staggered sleep last night.

SOP on that note I am going to lie down and pretend to watch curious george with ds and dd1 while dd2 is sleeping.

sorry for no personals...i will try to get on here later and answer the posts. I have read them just don't have enough time.

Hello everyone

i had an absolutely HORRIBLE night last night! my 2.5 year old is getting worse and worse at night times, he is just refusing to go to sleep. After we put him in bed, he will whinge and scream and keeps coming out of his bedroom and DH has gotten into the habit of going in and laying down with him until he falls asleep just to shut him up. So told him last night he couldnt do that anymore as it is becoming a nasty habit. So, last night i was still struggling to get him to sleep at midnight. then he woke up at 2.45am and must have gone into the lounge room and gone to sleep on the couch, because i found him there at 6.30 this morning!
So between Ethans 3 hourly feeds and being up with nicholas all night, i have had a grand total of about 3 hours sleep! :hair: and i am buggered!!!

On a positive note, E is self settling now, which makes things so much more easier! took a couple of days to get him there but i was persistant and looks like it has paid off. Am wanting to start him on the "Save our Sleep" (tizzie hall) routine. is anyone else using this??

rissa ~ sounds like your kids are playing sleep games like mine at the moment!!! grrr!
tara ~ sounds like you are having a rough time of it. hope b/f becomes more enjoyable for you. DS1 had reflux when he was a bub and was put on zantac, which seemed to do the trick, i know how horrible it is having ur baby screaming with pain and vomiting everywhere! :hugs:
ellie ~ bugger about the alarm waking you up all night!
C&G ~ thats fantastic that G slept that long!!! Yeah, i'll bet you felt like dolly parton in the morning!!
jasmine ~ yeah those lactation cookies definitely work. Ive got a whole heap in the freezer that i made when i was pg, and i cant eat them because ive got too much milk already and if i eat them i get really engorged for days after!
julie ~ E is in 000 but they are getting too short on him. Im exclusive b/f and i think maybe my period might arrive in a few weeks, i have noticed that ive been getting a bit of ovulation type cervical mucous. hope not tho!!

anyway im going to have to leave it there. need to go have some lunch before the rascals wake up, and then ive got to go and do the food shopping.. oh joy!!

Hi girls and bubs,

Im feeling a little down at the moment. I have noticed over the last week that i have been giving Ryden more formula and less boobie. And i really want to boost my supply and ditch most if not all of the formula. Have you got any ideas on how i can go about this. DO i just offer him the boob every hour for the next couple od days and see if this works. And if i do this do i offer a top up or go cold turkey.

Well got to run Ryden has just woken, better offer him some boobie milk.

Be back on later

must be very quick, but fire fly, is your 2.5 year old sitll having a day sleep?. Both my older 2 kids dropped their day sleeps by that age - it's a killer when you'd love to catch up on some sleep during the day, but I found is even worse trying to get a toddler to go to sleep at night when they weren't tired.

Just an idea.

Anyway, as for me, I've been "miss domestic" today. Done 2 loads of washing (although need to hang out 1 load still, but the other's dry), been baking - banana cake, weetbix slice and gingerbread, general house stuff.
PLUS, I made the side drapes for Chloe's room - yay- I'm so excited it looks quite pretty now and much moe girly. I also had some left over material so I made a cushion cover to go on the chair in her room to out of the same fabric.

Now all I need is for Chloe to go into her room! She's currenty at the front of the house with us, and probably will be until she's too big for the cradle.

Anyway, must go and get kids into bed.

Hope that you are all going okay.

Hiya Everyone

Yvonne: I just don't know how you do it! You seem to get so much done and you have two little ones plus a little baby! I cleaned the house for the first time yesterday and that was me done for the day!

Stacey: To boost your supply bf more often and maybe express after each feed. Some herbs (such as fenugreek) are said to increase supply. Also you could try the lactation boosting cookies.

Hayley: That is great about Ethan self-settling - what a clever bub! We are so far from that with Zaydn - I guess we will get there eventually! I have looked into Tizzie's stuff, it sounds pretty good. I am going to wait til Z is around 3 months before we start on a routine - I'm looking forward to it though!
Hope you have a much better sleep tonight.

Marissa: Glad to hear Emily is doing well. Hope you have a good sleep tonight.

Tara: You poor thing, no wonder you are exhausted. And poor little E with reflux. I'm not sure if you would be interested but a visit to the osteopath or chiro may help with his issues. Whatever you choose to do, I hope everything sorts itself out soon :hugs:

Ellie: How is B's eye going? Are the drops working? I hope so!

C&G's Mummy: Wow, what an amazing sleep - you lucky thing! I bet you feel great!

Jasmine: When are you going back to work? I bet it will be hard but you gotta do what you gotta do, hey? One thing I have learnt through working in childcare is that every family is different and they have to do whatever works best for them. Glad the centre will use your MCNs and EBM (so they should)!

Penny: Great to hear from you!

Julie: Thanks heaps for letting me know about your band. Our ceremony is November next year so when we are looking into music options I will definitely look into your band.

CC: The smiles are gorgeous aren't they! How was meeting your step sister to be?

T2+1, Tahnee and everybody else: Hi! Hope you are all doing well and bubs are behaving :)

Clothes: Zaydn is in 000 however it is still a little too big especially the length - all the pants are too long.

Immunisations: Anybody not getting their bub immunised? Or am I the only one?

Took Z to an osteopath today and he has a chiro appointment tomorrow. Hopefully his wind issues will be sorted out very soon (he has a very hard time burping and groans and grunts so much he has earned the nickname Grunter)!

We (Zaydn and myself) are going down south on the weekend to stay with my sister and her husband as DH will be busy all weekend. He is doing a 24 hour relay race (Relay for Life) to raise money for the Cancer Council.

Gotta go, Z is waking up.

Well, Ryden has finally settled,

I have gone cold turkey with the formula, (for now), he is a little unsettled but hopefully only a day or two and my milk supply will be up, and he should be back to his happy little self. He is just getting to use to the bottle and the less effort it takes to drink, and now is frustrated that he has to put al ittle more effort for his feeds of the boob.

I hope it works out, as Ryden and I are off to Perth in a few weeks, and i would like to BF him over there and especially on the 4 hour plane trip.

Well might head to bed for an hor or so. untill the next boobie feed

Hi girls,
Thanks for the messages.

Well I took little E to the Dr's and he is now on Zantac and actually has execma and not the newborn rash the nurses keep telling me about so that is another added complication. any pointers for treating that girls?

Babynumberone - I would take him to the chiro if I could find one that worked with babies, I have asked around and nobody knows of anyone, i am still looking though.

Now that he has changed meds hopefully the :barf:will settle down or else he is going to stop putting on weight as fast as he should be. hopefully the washing might also settle down, I have resorted to putting a towel under his head after having to dry his sheet and matress protector for the 6th time yesterday afternoon! Not to mention my clothes, I have to change them at least twice a day.... luckily he is such a cutie and is giving me big smiles despite the discomfort he is in.

Better go and change little E again as he has just :barf:all over his clothes I just changed 10 minutes ago.... good thing he has so many clothes! Night all.

Hi everyone, Isabelle has her 6 week checkup tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to seeing how much she weighs because she is such a chubba. I hope i'm not feeding her too much:(

Tarabell - I know what you mean about changing bubs all the time because of:barf:. I have been in the routine of always having a cloth nappy on hand. I also use them in her bassinet or wherever she is laying so i don't have to change everything all the time.

BambinaCattiva - At the moment Isabelle's bassinet is in our room but occasionally she co-sleeps with me. I co-slept with DS when he was a bubs and it is definitely something I miss.

campergirl - :fingerscrossed: Ryden will love the BF so you don't have to worry about formula.

babynumberone - I hope you have a great weekend at your sisters and good luck to your DH.

Lyglc - I think I need to be 'miss domestic' today:laughing:. I sorted all the washing out yesterday to be washed but for some reason I got slack and it's still sitting in piles. DF also has a sales rep coming to our place today to talk about some products for DF's business so I better start cleaning soon...

fire~fly - I hope nicholas starts sleeping better soon, I know how tiring it is to get up to 2 kids through the night. My DS just turned 2 so I hope he doesn't start doing that. At the moment he is pretty good, I put him to bed at around 7pm, turn the radio on for him and the light off and that seems to work for him. Some nights he will wake up during the night but he just wants a drink of water, so now I have his sippy cup next to his bed for him.

Rissa79 - Isabelle decided she wanted play time at 1am this morning too lol. Good thing I taped the finale of So you think you can dance because I had something to watch.

Tarabell - Lots of :hugs: to you. You are going though so much right now, stay strong and I really hope things start to improve for you soon.

ellie13 - I hope you got a better sleep last night.

Charlotte & Georgia's Mummy - Good to hear Georgia is sleeping so well.

Terrible2+1cutie - Hi, how are you feeling today?

cc - Isabelle sucks on her hands too after a feed. Last night she just kept wanting to feed but I had to stop her because she would also keep spitting it back up and she won't take a dummy.

Hi ladies, I htink I have a couple of free minutes so I'll see how much I'm able to write!

dd1 and ds are going to mil's for the night tonight. It's worked out really well because I have 2 partied on the weekend for ds ( a family party and a friends party). I need to go and do some shopping so I might try to do that tonight after she has picked up the older kids. It's easy enough to take Chloe with me and of course she is still staying home tonight.

I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a sleepin in the the mornin as I'll give Chloe her first feed for the day and then go back to bed for a little while. I think mil will bring the kids home later in the afternoon tomorrow so I might even get another nap in the afternoon if I'm lucky.

It will be a very busy weekend with the 2 parties plus it's also dh birthday too!

As far as immunisation - Chloe is going to have her first lot in a couple of weeks. I know that there are slight risks involved, but I've seen footage on a child with tetanus and it's horrific - when you think that could have been prevented by immunisations it seems so sad. I know that people have their reasons for not immunising (have a few friends who have chosen not to) but for me, I think if you can immunise against a disease then it's much better.

Chloe is still in her cradle in the lounge room, right next to our room. As our house is zoned, the kids rooms are at the other end of the house so I would prefer for her to be close to us for as long as possible. The odler 2 kids ent into their cot at about 12 weeks, when they were too big for the bassinet they were sleeping in. However, the cradle we have got is a bit bigger so she may be able to stay in ti longer. But saying that, where she curretnly is, is where we put the Christmas tree so she will probably be moved into her room before Christmas.

Claire - hope you have a great weekend and that Zaydn is a perfect baby for you. Also hope that osteo and chiro do the trick!

Stacey - good luck with the 100% bf. Hope that your milk supply increases really quicky. I agree that it's so much easier to only bf than have to do bottles too.

Jasmine - your mcn looks so professional! I've had Chloe in them (just started putting her back in them after her horrible nappy rash has now cleared up). I do have problms with them leaking though. i put boosters in them and they still leak, but the nappy seems to be full - she does seem to wee alot - even the disposables are very heavy with wee when I use them.
I really want to use cloth, and sometimes I've resorted to just using the traditional ones as they at least don't leak with a cover on - perhaps I need to just out a cover over the mcn's but that seems a bit silly when they are AIO's.

tara - how that the Zantac does the trick - reflux is certainly no fun for the baby (or mum!)
It's horrible seeing them in pain.
Chloe is a little bit chucky - just little mouthfuls of it usually, but I still have a clothe nappy under her head in he cradle, otherwise I would be needing to change the sheet all the time too. I've also started putting bibs on her while feeding and for a little while later to catch it a bit. She's not projectile vomiting - dd1 did that and it would go everywhere and sometime I would have to shower to clean myself - the acidic smell of vomit is not my preferred scent!
As far as Eczema - I guess it depends how bad it is, but for my ds I just smother him in sorbelene - if the skin stays moist it clears up much more quickly.

tahnee - sometimes I find it good when someone is coming over - it makes me clean up a bit. Most of the time our house is messy at the moment - just doing washing and normal stuff is busy enough. I guess when I spend about 6 hours a day feeding/burping/nappying that I have a little less time than I used to!
Every now and again I get very motivated (like yesterday) and gets heaps done. I wish I had more days like that!

A big hello to everyone else!

Anyway, must get going and do a few things to get the kids ready for their sleepover. Chloe is also stiring so I'm guessing she'll want a feed pretty soon.

Chat later ladies.

Yvonne.

tara - one more thing about the eczema - don't bath ds in the johnson and johnson washes or anything else like that. As much as it smells so good it can aggrevate it. With ds, as soon as we stopped doig this, and put the sorbelene on, it made a huge difference.

Tarabell
18-09-2008, 16:04
BambinaCattiva - Little E throws up enough breastmilk so perhaps I should just leave it on him instead of squirting him... hmm, maybe not. It is amazing the amount of things breastmilk can be used for though.

Lyglc - I am bathing little E in QV wash and smothering him in soborlene each time I change him, except during the night as I like to just feed, change and put back to bed although lately it has been feed, change nappy, change his clothes, clean up :barf:, change my clothes, change his bed clothes and put back to bed! By the time I get back to bed he is almost due for another feed.

Little E has slept well today, I put him down at 10.30am and he slept for nearly four hours, I even managed to get out to the shops and do the grocery shopping whilst DH was at home. He got up for a feed, change, :barf: and then his daddy put him back to bed. That was an hour or so ago so he is doing better today. I have given him some panadol too to help with the pain until the Zantac kicks in, seems to be helping. Poor little mite I hate seeing him in pain.

Hi girls,

just a quick one, as I can't remember what everyone else has said to do personals.....

G sleeps in a bassinette in her room, the other end of the house to us, next to C's bedroom.

Quick question for Claire and anyone else who this applies to.......without causing any problems or arguements, I was just wondering if you would mind sharing why you are not having Z immunised?? If you don't want to that's cool, I was just curious as to your reasons.
I'm not wanting to judge anyone, just looking for more info for my own peace of mind. Feel free to ignore me :).

Hi girls,
Went and spent the morning at my friends house today and she gave me some good ideas to try with nicholas' night battles. :fingerscrossed: something works.
Tara ~ i have eczema on my scalp so have to use a special shampoo (since childhood) and ds1 has it on his cheeks but it only flares up if we use things like aeroguard or sunscreen with fragrances etc (those ones that change colour after you rub them in are the worst!!! Hamiltons sunscreen doesnt get any reactions from ds if you need to get one in summer) otherwise his cheeks are perfectly clear and normal. I saw an ad in a baby mag for a new eczema cream called " ATOPICLAIR" free from steroids and can be used on newborns, maybe ask at the chemist?? hope the zantac works for little E too. DS1 was on it until he was on solids. Next time i see my chiro, i will ask if he knows anyone that does babys in canberra.

jasmine ~ that nappy looks fantastic!!! is it an all in one? or a cover? E is in a bassinette in our room about 1metre from my side of the bed.

stacey~ i would defintely try the lactation boosting cookies to boost your milk. or even just add some brewers yeast to something that you are eating. oh and eating oats helps too.

claire ~ im still deciding about getting E immunised. he hasnt had any needles so far, but hubby particularly wants him done, and i have so much info banging around in my head, im just not sure at the moment. hes 6.5 weeks now so i guess ive gotta decide soon hey!

lyglc ~ yeah nicholas is still having a sleep in the day for about 2 hrs. im willing to give anything a try at the moment!

anyway i have to go, E just woke up!

Hello

C&Gs Mummy: I don't mind you asking at all :)
I was all for vaccinations until I met my DH. DH suffered from convulsions after his first vaccination as a baby. As did quite a few members of his family including an aunty that ended up with mild brain damage. Because of this family history I have researched immunisations a great deal. Here are the reasons why we are choosing not to vaccinate Z -

1. Vaccines have never been tested

2. Vaccines contain toxic additives and heavy metals

3. Vaccines are contaminated with human and animal viruses and bacteria

4. Vaccines can cause serious immediate side effects (such as convulsions and brain damage)

5. Vaccines can cause serious long-term side effects (such as asthma and autism among many others)

6. Vaccines do not necessarily protect against infectious diseases

7. Doctors are currently receiving several payments from the government to push vaccines

8. Some childhood illnesses have beneficial aspects and therefore, prevention may not necessarily be in the best interests of the child (Measles, for example, has been used in Scandinavian countries to successfully treat such autoimmune conditions as eczema and many studies have been performed which show that children who do not contract measles naturally as a child are more likely to suffer from certain cancers later in life).

If you are interested in finding out more about these points as well as others PM your email address and I will email you an article written by the Australian Vaccination Network. I can't provide the link here as it is from another parenting site. The article is extremely well researched and contains info that will probably suprise/shock you. It explains the reasons I have given in detail. If anyone else wants to read the article, feel free to PM your email address and I will forward it to you.

Instead of orthodox vaccinations we are using homoeoprophylaxis. Basically it involves giving your baby/child homeopathic oral preparations (all natural) which assist in building their immunity against common childhood diseases and other preventable diseases.

So that is that in a nut shell! I better go I have :ecomcity: way too much!

Hi Girls,

Well i am really tired after spending today which was daycare day doing the housework. Its much harder staying focused with your house work when you have to stop and start all the time to feed and change nappies so i don't think i got as much as intended done.

I am sorry you are going through such a hard time at the moment Tara, i hope things pick up for you and bubs soon. I am thinking of you.

Well i am lucky both my 5 year old and my almost 4 year old sleep for at least a hour during the day. My 5 year old is soooo easy to get to have a sleep, i am glad they both still have a sleep for my own sanity, this is when i have a hour lie down. I want to cut his sleep out soon though in preperation for when he starts prep next year.

Talon sleeps in the cot in his room, i paid $90 for a bassinette and he won't sleep in it and screams when i put him in there. It has been soooo easy getting him to sleep in the cot, i usually just put him in the cot, turn the mobile on and walk away and he puts himself to sleep. Even in the bouncer or on the floor he just plays until he is tired and falls asleep, i have never had to nurse him to sleep. Actually i have never had to nurse any of my kids to sleep.

I plan on getting Talon immunised to, i have friends that don't immunise from playgroup though, i guess it comes down to your own personel decision.

Anyway i should go to bed as have playgroup in the morning so don't want to be tired for that and Talon is snoring his little cute head off and DP has been in bed for a hour.

Talk to you all in the morning and oh yeah my boobs are heaps better now.

Hi Kayla - welcome!

Claire - I've PM'd you my email address......thanks!

T2+1 - well done for doing your housework, you've done better than me, I haven't done any housework for days. I'm so jealous that you still get your kids to have a nap. C won't and is sooooo feral in the afternoons. And she's waking up early in the am so that doesn't help with her attitude either! have fun at playgroup

Bambina - your MCN looks great, well done!

Me - had a pretty good night. Although G was a little grizzly and didn't really sleep at all from about 7 til i got her down for bed at 11:20. Poor little princess was sooooooo tired but just wouldn't/couldn't get to sleep. So after a feed at 10, and a top up at 11, when I finally got her to sleep at 11:20 and got to bed she didn't wake up until 7:20am this morning.

I'm soo lucky that at the moment she's sleeping beautifully o/night. I feel guilty for saying it here, but it seems to be the only news I have. Apart from C misbehaving every night at bedtime at the moment, crying and fighting and screaming at us, then waking early and being tired and having tanty's and crying on and off all day. It's just as well G is such a good baby, cos I don't know how I would cope otherwise.

Although I am waiting for the **** to hit the fan so to speak, and for G to stop feeding and sleeping so well, and everything to just go really wrong.

better run, G's having nappy free time and C has freeaked out cos G did a poo and C is about to try and put a nappy on her:hair:

Hi all,

I hope everyone had a good night. Well Ryden actually nearly slept right through last night for the first time. He was feed and put to bed at 8pm, and sleot right through untill 430am. I had been BF when ever he wanted it yesterday and i still give in and gave him a bottle before bed. (im sill waiting for my milk supply to com in, and i couldnt put him to bed hungry). I fed him for about 45 min then topped him up with a bottle. The down side was, i stayed up until after midnight waiting for him to wake and he didnt.

I have been taking fenugreek and brewers yest since yesterday afternoon, and there already seems to be a big increase in my milk supply. Its just a mater of getting Ryden to suck properly.

Well better go Ry is stiring and he hasnt been feed since 5am.

Stacey

I tried to express last night and go next to nill milk out. I havnt expressed for a week and i use to get at least 60-70mls.

omg omg omg
I havent been on here for nearly one whole week.... I have kinda been but every time i attempt to something comes up

well I have soooooooooo much to catch up on and so much to say... I really dont know where to start.... HI how r u

my mum has been up for the week, she has pretty much done a complete spring clean on my house and garden, my house now looks like something out of better homes and garden.

I feel like a female spider (but im not going to eat my hubby) does anyone else feel hmmm like a weird feeling towards their hubby when they are BFeeding... I read that when u breast feed u release hormones .... oxytocin and progesterone... they make u feel really protective towards your baby etc... well I think they make me feel too over protective and I cant even stand the sight of my DH err... (their was a little section about this in practical parenting)

aiden is still being a little angel... he is smiling also ohhhhhhhhh such a butterful moment, he really loves his musical mobile

WIND... aiden has been having terible wind.. when I tap on his bellie is sounds so hollow... then he farts like crazy... I think I have tried everything to help him... but im sure their is somthing else out their that I havent... pls help (have tried massage, infants friend, bum up in the air position)

Immunisations... Im still abit 50/50, during my time as a paed nurse I have seen some terrible things happen to kids and babies that have and havent been immunised... I think its a hard choice to make... what if u immunise and your child gets crooke.. but then if u dont and they get pertussis its to hard... then u immunise say against the chicken pox and your kid still gets it (I really think chicken pox is part of growing up... what happened to chicken pox parties):p

just thought i would add.... when getting your child immunised make sure they have the correct storage fridge (alarm, temp control and no ones lunch in it) no point in giving an immunisation that is off, if u know what i mean...
also if u are worried about your child being in pain ask for a dose of sucrose (I mentioned this ages ago) it is amazing. puts babies in a lala la land sugar fix thingy... ill post a link if anyone is interested in it

Claire.. I am actually really interested in reading that article if your would be so nice to pm it to me that would be nice

Uni mum... I was having a period like feeling the other day... I usually kinda feel when I am ovulation and I got the pain in my left side then a little bit of blood the next day... and I am boobie feeding????

ellie... how are B's eyes how did the appointment go... have they taken any swabs to make sure they are treating the right bug???

tara... how r u going, I have also had some boobie problems so I totally know what u are thinking about, showing your hooters to every tom **** and harry ... its especially annoying when they all say ouch... I have had nipple thush (the dectarin made my nipples tingle) and also staff in my milk errrrrrrrr so I have been having fun... about excema... I find sorbaline works a treat (we use it for wet dressings at work) there is also a new cream with no steriods in it... if u are interested I can find the name for u (I have never used it)

stacy... how is your milk supply going? have u tried expressing... I ate lots of oats... porriage anzac bickies and my boobies went massive

bambie... how creative are u... are u sure u made them:p

well... I think thats enough typing for now, my fingers are getting annoyed as my nails are too long

see ya from alina and aiden:cloud9:

p.s thanks for the person that commented on my boobie adventure... Its so important to have supportive people around. I told my hubby off for telling me to quit the other night... gee I have got this far, my nipple is finally growing back and I have 2 tabs to go of my abs:smiliedance:

Hi there everyone,

I haven't been on since last weekend I am sorry. Little Hannah has been in hospital all week and is still there!!!

She has influenza b & slight pneumonia. The marks on her lungs have cleared thanks to the antibiotics however she has been on an IV drip and oxygen since last sunday. THey won't let her home until she can go one full night without the need for oxygen. She has been and still is a very sick little girl.

Sorry for no personals, will get up to date once I have my girl home. Sean is doing really well and is only waking once during the night. Daytime sleeps are still not great but not too bad really.

take care one and all

hi everyone,

Paula - so sorry to hear about little Hannah - I really hope that she is much better really soon and will be home in no time at all. It must be very hard for you, her and all the family.

Liana - great to hear that Aiden is going well and that he was really good for the ultrasound.
Hope the results are really good - please let us know how you go.
Lucky you having a nice clean house!

tara - hope that you have a much better nights sleep tonight. Hope E sleeps well and that you have nice dreams.

Jasmine- I have older kids trying to be "helpful" with Chloe! It's nice they try, but often makes things worse.

Stacey - good luck with Ryden sucking better and great that your supply is increasing. yay for good sleeping!

Michelle - Lucky you! Sounds like Georgia is just being a perfect baby! try to think positive and that she will continue to sleep well. There's no reason for why she shold stop now that she seems to be in a bit of a routine.

Kayla - welcome - nice to have you join us.

As far as the mcn. I'm using generally magicalls AIO, but I do boost them, have hemp, micorfibre boosters. I also have some handmade ones (bought off ebay) that i use and a few other brands that I haven't started to use yet as the legs seem too big and they will just leak out of them. usually when they have leaked they are really saturated, including the boosters too.

Well as for me:
Mil had the kids overnight. So I fed Chloe last night at 9:40pm, she woke at 4:00 am for a feed, and then went back to sleep and slept until 9:45am! So I had heaps of sleep last night. Probably the most sleep I've had in about 6 months. I have felt completely normal today - it's been so lovely.
Got such a busy weekend coming up so it is great timing.

Had a really nice day today, went shopping got some really good bargains for Chloe. Toys r us had a sale on clothes and got 2 tops, a l/s bodysuit and a pair of socks for $13.50 in total! They are really nice too.
Then got the food shopping done for ds's birthday party, organised the party games and have done the party bags.
got a call form mil that kids wanted to stay at there house for dinner so DH, Chloe and I went out for dinner - really nice. First time Chloe has been to a restaurant (since being born!) and she slept pretty much the whole time - she was so good. We had a really pleasant time.

Anyway, that's it for me i think. I don't know if I'll get on here again this weekend as tomorrow I have heaps of stuff to do around the house to get it ready for the party, have dancing for dd1, haircut for ds, and then his mc Donalds party late afternoon for his friends. Then Sunday is dh's birthday (they are a day apart, ds birthday is monday), we have a family party for ds in the afternoon and sometime during the day have to make some time to also celebrate dh's birthday.
So busy, busy, busy!

Anyway, must go as Chloe is still squawking! She has been fed, but is having a few issues going to sleep! I'm trying to decide if i'll go to bed or stay up and give her another feed at about 11pm.

Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend

well, after my nice meal last night, I ended up very sick! :barf:plus the other end too. It was awful, poor Chloe needed a feed and I had to stop numerous times to go to the bathroom:no:.

Today I don't feel so sick, but have had a bit of an upset stomach still. Ds's party is this afternoon. DH went to the chemist and talked to them,. I've got something similar to imodium which they said if I only take a few it should be okay. So I've taken 2, will take another one after the next feed (to try to get as least as possible in my milk). Apparently they looked up the royal's children site and it said that the amount the will go into the milk is so minor that it shouldn't cause any problems.
After his party though I will not take any more - just enough to get me through it. It's a mc donald's too so it's not as convenient as if it was at home and a loo really close by.
I would be so sad to miss his party, so as long as no more episodes I will go I think.
I'll just try to steer a bit clear of everyone.
Although i do think it was food poisoning so it's not like it's a virus that is contagious, but I will be extra careful with my hygiene!

Anyway, that's my exciting news...not!

Paula i am sorry to hear Hannah is still so sick, the poor little mite. Hope she starts to feel better soon, thinking of you.

Yvonne sorry to hear you were so sick after your lovely meal last night, would be dissapointing to finish off a great night like that. Hope you feel better soon.

Well i am sitting here, my 2 oldest boys just woke up from there nap, they both slept for almost 2 hours today, yay. Talon is asleep at my feet on his belly after yet another backfired tummy time. I put him on his tummy almost daily and within seconds he falls asleep, i think he likes it on his tummy, he also does a burp within seconds of being put on his belly.

I got to skype with my parents earlier who are on there way back from there around australia trip they are currently in Brisbane with my Brother and Sister in law and there 11 week old, so i got to see my little neice on the webcam for the very first time apart from photographs, but webcam is soooo much better. Was exciting. Not long now till my parents get back, its hard to believe they are only 7 hours away at the moment, still won't be back for another week or two yet cause they have a few stops at relatives on the way home.

Anyway i should go do something, its just a quiet weekend for us as DP is working all weekend so i shoujld do some quiet housework while he is sleeping for nightshifts.

Have a great weekend girls.

Hi Girls,

Well its been a bit over a week since the last time I posted on here, have been reading but very slack. Plus Chloe has been a handful - speaking of which I can see she has her eyes open (she's next to me in her bouncer) and she's only been asleep for an hour, grrr hopefully she'll be quiet so I can post.

**VENT ALERT**

This week she has been chucking up her feeds quite a bit which has had me worried, she's been displaying a lot of signs of reflux from the RISA (Reflux Infants Support Association) website and I suspect she is suffering from a mild case of this. My DH has disputed me a lot on this saying we were overfeeding her (we had upped her feeds from 120ml to 150 sometimes 180 as she was demanding feeds) and this has been very frustrating. We are currently feeding her a mixture of EBM and Formula (S26 Gold) at the moment, however I'm contemplating Formula feeding her full-time as my milk is starting to reduce a fair bit, getting the guilts about this though, especially after reading all the pro breastfeeding/anti bottlefeeding threads :(

My concern was that she had mega spews (almost seems like her entire feed) including out of her nostrils a few times, she sound congested most of the time when she breathes, very sensitive to noise, she's been unsettled a lot and crying, tends to squirm/grunts a lot after being fed, seems uncomfortable :(

DH has a slightly different method of burping her to me which doesn't involve putting too much pressure on her tummy and I have tried this over the last 24-hrs which has seemed to have stopped her mega streaming spews which is great, but he has kinda made me feel less of a mother by saying I'm wrong about the reflux and reading too much online making me a worry-wart.

We've also dropped her feeds back to 120ml again though this doesn't seem to satisfy her and she's waking more frequently and harder to settle to sleep which is frustrating. We have her 6-week checkup with our GP on Monday so will ask him then for advice. She is also getting a bit of a rash on her face, looks like baby acne/milk pimples like others have mentioned will double-check with him on this too.

On a happier note I just bid and won some baby scales off of ebay ($2.75 + $25 postage) pretty happy with that, hopefully their not dodgy! Family & friends keep asking about Chloe's weight and I have no idea how much she is now so thought it will come in handy.

Immunisations - I'm torn what I should do, but I'd prefer to get Chloe immunised than not for some kind of protection, though the risks I read about are scary too.

Some quick personals:

Lyglc - Glad to hear DS' party went well, hopefully you will be back to normal tomorrow, glad you are feeling better. Sorry to hear your Chloe is being unsettled for you too.

BambinaCattiva - I agree with the others, the MCN you made is awesome. We use disposibles but I do love the look of the MCN, I'm just too lazy to use these.

2girlssofar - Sorry to hear about Hannah, hope she gets well soon and is back home with you and your family :hugs:.

C&G's Mummy - Georgia sounds like a dream baby with her sleeping overnight, now hopefully Charlotte improves for you!

Kayla - Hello and welcome!

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE THAT I MAY HAVE MISSED!

Anyhow Chloe is crying AGAIN, better go :banghead:, sorry about my whinging/negative post!

If you are worried about Chloe just talk to your GP when you take her for her 6 week check they will answer any questions you may have. Talon is spewing alot too, doesn't seem unsettled though but he spews not after every feed but after the feed has been sitting his his stomach for a while, its normally within 30 minutes to a hour after and some days he will spew lots and other days he will not spew at all.

Anyway talking about Talon just got him to sleep, he has been unsettled tonight so i am going to go get some sleep, he didn't wake up till 4.30 am last night which was nice.

Morning girls,

Hope everyone managed to get some sleep last night, Little E had wind pains during the night cause bad mummy ate two spoonfuls of bean salad... I feel so bad now! He has been fairly happy though, just groaning a bit.

We are off to Floriade this afternoon to see the flowers and get out in the fresh air as the day is lovely here.

misheycat - I hear you on DH making you feel like less of a mother, I have the same issues at times with my DH. After spending last weekend in hospital he has realised that when little E cries he isn't hungry all the time or has wind, he is in fact umm tired and needs to go to sleep! He also has a way of burping him that seems to work so if I am having no luck I just hand him over to daddy.

Little E has reflux and seems a little better since taking the Zantac, he also has ecezma which sometimes is associated with reflux.

I would speak to the Dr and trust your instinct. E was showing all the classic symptoms of reflux especially when I took him off the meds when he had a reaction to the losec and the symptoms came back with avengance within a couple of days! The paed originally gave me the losec and said, if it works it works, if it doesn't it doesn't... yeah um thanks for that! :banghead:

Terrible2+1cutie - hope you managed to get some sleep and Talon settled down for you.

lianas1stbub - mine live overseas so no chance of them popping in here anytime soon. Not even my family bother to visit and they are 20 minutes away. My uncle has not even met my son yet.

hope everyone has a great rest of the day.

Hi everyone! Sorry I havent been around but i have been very busy galavanting around with my family and new step sister. it has forced me to get more organised earlier in the mornings and actually leave the house! i have surprised myself about how well i have done but i am completely exhausted!

well, i will try to do some personals for whoever i can see on this screen as i havent read any posts for a few days now. sorry to anyone i miss in advance.

tara - hope your little man's pains have settled down and that you had a great time at floriade.

alina - hope the visit from the in laws wasnt too painful

T2+1 - amelia doesnt really spew much (well not large amounts, just little spit ups) but the other night i sat her up to burp her and she chucked up the WHOLE bottle's worth of milk and she was then sucking her hands like crazy like she hadnt been fed so i had to feed her again! i was really worried about her but she hasnt done it again. i figure it was just an air bubble that got caught under all the milk and when she brought it up all the milk came too. mia slept for 6 hours the other night too but then wanted 2 hourly feeds (she normally goes 3-4 hours) after that...

mishey -

We are currently feeding her a mixture of EBM and Formula (S26 Gold) at the moment, however I'm contemplating Formula feeding her full-time as my milk is starting to reduce a fair bit, getting the guilts about this though, especially after reading all the pro breastfeeding/anti bottlefeeding threads :(
I had the exact same problem and felt very guilty too, but it is working so much better for us both - mia is much more settled and i am enjoying my baby like i should instead of resenting her! I also started on the S-26 gold but found it a bit too rich. amelia would spew and got quite constipated on it. i have switched to karicare gold and she is still just a little constipated but not as bad and she doesnt spew anywhere near as much! maybe try a different brand of formula?

lyglc - glad ds had a good time at the party. all the best for your preparations too! hope you get to enjoy the party yourself.

bambina - i have enough clothes for a year too! but i have found i dont have any cool clothes in small sizes as the weather has got very hot very early! glad you can buy some more mcn's though!

oh, one more thing - amelia has thrush on her tongue from when i was on antibiotics and i have been giving her mycostatin for a few days now but it doesnt seem to have had any effect. do i go and get her some more as it is nearly all gone or is there something else i can try?

oh, and another thing... my two BFs who are both on IVF (one just started and the other started last year) are both 4-5 weeks preggers!!! I am crossing everything that they are stickies! I have only just introduced them to one another and they will be due a few days apart!

hi everyone, must be quick as I should go to bed!

Ds's 3rd birthday party (the family party) went very well today - I was a bit disorganised and had to rush to get everything ready. As it was also dh's birthday today, I felt like I shouldn't ask him to do too much and let him have a sleep in too - but this left me running short of time.
Had to decorate the cake in record time as people were nearly due to arrive and I was still in my pj's! (at 1pm that is!)

Anyway, was a really nice afternoon. Only problem was that this evening I've been unwell again - I thought I was all better, but no I've spent half the evening in the loo:no:.

Anyway, seems to have settled down a bit now.

But I have some photo's to share with you all from ds's party,
Sorry to subject you to them:laughing:. I used to always be taking photo's in at work with me, but now I don't work, I'll have to show you ladies instead!

It would happen the day that he's going to have lots of photo's being taken!

(he went to slam a door this morning and dh put his hand up to stop the door from slamming - to prevent any fingers being trapped, and the door bounced back and hit Lachlan on the head - poor love, he was very unhappy, but hopefully he'll stop slamming doors now!)

misheycat: We can feel guilty about formula feeding together. Piper is almost 9 weeks and yesterday I started to exclusively formula feed. I am a tad disheartened because I BF Brie for a full 12 months. Piper is a different baby tho and I have to remind myself that. She has not liked BF ever since my loss (bleeding) stopped. She is so hungry at times so has a few sucks then spits my nipple out, screams, arches her back. She will scream when Im squirting milk in her mouth. I just didnt understand what was happening so I did a little experiment the other day.

Piper woke at 7am so from then till 12pm I tried to BF her. Poor thing was getting so frustrated with my boob. She only took a few sucks at a time then gave up. She fed every 45mon-1hr.
At 12pm I gave her formula. She guzzled 100mls.
At 3pm I tried the BF again and she refused after a few minutes.
5pm gave a formula which she guzzled again.
8pm expressed & offered the EBM in her usual bottle but she refused that! Then I offered a formula and she took it.
That convinced me that she doesnt like my milk. She slept last night for 8hrs and I think that is because she is content on formula too.
I know I gave it a good go. As her paediatrician said to me the other day 'some mums dislike BF just as some babies do' On the great side I can now start proper dieting and weight watchers and DH & I get my boobs back. I know BF would be better but I have to look for any benefits so I dont cry with guilt. DH reminded me that its not about me and its about what Piper needs and it seems she needs formula.
I hope that the transition is easy for you :fingerscrossed:

My uncle has not even met my son yet.
My brother, dad, FIL, SIL & MIL havent met Piper! Long story but here Im hoping that they never will :goodvibes:

As for me Ive had about enough. Im very tired and stressed with having 2 kids. I knew it would be hard but not this hard. Dealing with Pipers feeding has been tiring too. It also takes time away from Brie and I can see that she is suffering. DH & I have decided to put Brie in daycare for a 2nd day a week. She loves it there and almost never wants to come home when we pick her up. We are just lucky that we can afford the decision. I cant give her the attention or playtime that she needs to develope at the moment. I do feel guilty cos I am SAHM and should be able to deal with my own kids.

cheezelz - my mother, brother and father have not met E either and won't as long as I have any say in it.... evil people they are. My MIL and BIL haven't either, but they live OS so have an excuse.
Don't beat yourself up about FF, you gave it a good shot... :hugs:

Lyglc - glad the party went well... :)

CrispyChicken - thanks, Floriade was good... Little E was quiet the whole time, it was our first big public outing other than to the shops.

Better get this little man back to bed, he is milk drunk after mummy having the lactation cookies last night... OMG do they work, I felt like I was going to explode this morning. I just need to eat them in the morning for the afternoon when my supply is low.

Have a great day girls,

Morning girls,

Sorry, I'm another one guilty of stalking I suppose. I seem to never find the time to post after catching up on all the posts. Even now, as I'm typing, O is waking up again, and M is demanding another drink.

Still BF and FF here too. I definitely feel guilty sometimes about having to FF aswell but we all have to do whatever we can to ensure our babies are happy and thriving.

Lisa, like you, I knew it was going to be hard, but I didn't realise how hard with 2 of them. As I'm doing both kind of feeding with Oliver, it just seems to take so much time away from her...and Marie is taking every opportunity to be as naughty as possible. She won't listen to anything that is being said to her...and I'm getting very frustrated and stressed with the whole situation.

Yvonne, the cake looks fabulous, glad the party for Lachlan went well. It's Marie's birthday on Friday, so I'm going to attempt to make her a cake too. She has asked for a chocolate one.

Arg, sorry that's about it from me. There is only so long ABC tv will keep Marie entertained.

Kristy :)

Good Morning ladies!
Hope you all had a nice
How was everyone's weekend? Ours was great - we stayed down south with my sister, mum and BIL. Visited a winery (no tastings for me), cheese factory, chocolate factory (lots of tasting on my behalf :D) and an animal farm. My mum and sister looked after Zaydn most of the time so I had a real good break - I feel great now and they loved spending time with him. He was really good considering he has a very blocked/snotty nose. He also has a huge blister on the top of his thigh where the cast rubs - it looks very painful. Will have to ask the hospital staff what we can do to prevent it from happening again.

Tara: Fantastic news about the cookies - so glad they are working for you!

Lisa: Sounds like you gave it a really good go - good on ya. Hope you start to feel better soon and that Brie going to daycare twice a week helps you out.

Yvonne: Love the photos here and on the photo thread. You have a gorgeous family! Looks like Lachlan's party went really well. Hope you are feeling better now.

CC: :yelclap: for your best friends - congratulations to them!

Michelle: Hope the GP at your checkup will be able to help you out with Chloe's possible reflux. Poor little bub.

Alina: So glad Aiden was a good boy for his scan. Hope the results are fine and he gets the 'all clear. BTW did you read that article?

Paula: Poor Hannah - how is she doing now? How are you coping? Big :hugs: for you and your family.

T2+1: How sweet seeing your lil niece on the webcam - cute!

Tahnee, Hayley, Stacey, Jasmine, C&G's Mummy & anyone else I have missed:  how are you all?

We have such a busy week this week - Zaydn has an appointment at the hospital, osteopath appointment, chiro appointment and 6 week check up at the child health clinic. We both have our 6 week check up with our GP, I have my last midwife appointment and DH and I have an appointment with an accountant

Gotta go, Zaydn is getting a new cast at 10am.

hi ladies.

I'm home with just Chloe today. Even though it's ds's 3rd birthday - he's gone off to childcare - he was wanting to go and have a birthday cake ther with his little friends.
My mum and dad came and pick up Grace and Lachlan - they have taken him to childcare as I don't trust my tummy yet and I'm not going anywhere today! The also asked if I would like them to look after Grace so that is really appreciated.

i will go back to bed in a minute as I got to bed very late last night and since there's only me and Chloe here I can do that. The house is still a mess form the party yesterday, but it can always be cleaned up later.

To those of you formula feeding your babies - please try not to feel guilty. You are all doing the best you can - just like all of us, and if this is what works best for you and your baby, then that's just the way it is. If you and your baby are happier then that's is what's best (imo).

Claire - glad to hear you had a nice weekend. Poor little Z having a blister - hopefully when they do the new cast today it will stop rubbing. Wow, you certainly have a busy week planned.

M & O - when #2 comes along it certainly isn't easy. (I've actually found having #3 easier than #2). For me though, it did get easier it time as you get into a bit more of a routine. With doing both types of feeding it does take a huge amount of time (had to do that with dd1).
Are you able to do things with Marie when you are feedling Oliver, eg sing some songs, read a story. Then she is able to get some attention when you are feeding him. I used to find going for a wallk to the park good too, as bubs would fall asleep in the pram, so I could spend some time playing with the older child once we got there. Can also spend time chatting with them along the way.
As far as children not listening - I seem to have 2 of them doing this quite frequently at the moment:hair:. I guess I just need to remember that although i feel like Chloe has been here for ages, for them it's still a big adjustment - I think it took about 4 months for dd1 to get completely used to ds being around. But now they do love each so much and love playing with each other (most of the time!)

cheezelz - hope that having Brie at childcare an extra day helps. My ds loves childcare too. It may also be really good for her, so that she has some time away from Piper and she can feel "normal" (the way it was before Piper came along). It may give her a bit more time to get used to having Piper. DON't feel guilty. You aren't doing anything wrong. Just because you are a SAHM doesn't mean that you don't need a break! You may just find that you enjoy the time you spend with her more, because you get a chance to be a bit refreshed.

As far as relatives not meeting your baby. My SIL hasn't met Chloe yet. They live about 40 minutes away. My brother and nephew came to visit us in the hospital, but she stayed at home, and then yesterday she didn't come to ds's party - her best friend was having a party so she went to that instead. She hasn't called me to congratulate us either.
She did write the card for when Chloe was born and I have spoken to her once when I rang their house to talk to my brother and she seemed all chatty and friendly (like she always is). I'm just really surprised - I don't understand why she doesn't seem at all interested.
I might talk to one of my sisters who's probably better friends with her than me and find out if I've done something to upset her as I don't understand why she doesn't want to meet my beautiful little girl:no:

Anyway, I really should take the opportunity to go back to bed.

Will check in later to see how you all are.

I cant begin to explain how relieved I feel from your reassurance girls. I supose its harder for me to believe DH when he tells me Im doing the right thing. Having other mums tell me that Im doing well and that dont judge me makes me feel that I am ok & doing what is best.
I have given it a good go trying to BF Piper. As I said before I BF Brie for 12 months. I was very proud that I was able to. I think the hardest part for me to make the transition to FF is that I kinda looked down on mums who FF their bubs. Now I have a whole new respect for those who have their bubs best interests at heart and have had to make to move over. I just cant believe the difference in her in just 2 days. She slept 8hrs last night and has had naps between each feed which she didnt on the breast. She is also pooing more easily and frequently than whilst BF. Can you tell Im still trying to convince myself that Im doing the right thing? Would you believe that after 2 days of not BF I have only had to express once to relieve pressure. That could also mean that my supply wasnt huge and that could have added to the problems.

Regarding putting Brie in childcare twice a week I think that she will love it. Half the time we go to pick her up and she runs away from us. Im hoping that her attention seeking tantrums will calm down and her speach will improve.

Im going to have an early lunch. Im not sure what to do will al this free time now that Pip actually sleeps during the day :smiliedance:

:smiliedance:ITS FINALLY MUMMY TIME:yelclap:

hey everyone I have been attempting to write on here all morning... but as soon as aiden is asleep he pretty much wakes up, I think he is finally asleep for real this time. err he is stiring.

I think I survived the out laws visit... had a few near misses with the 3yrold cousin... err im not going to start cuz I wont stop! atleast ray did attemt to make sure I was ok... though when I asked him to get some panadol for aiden he went and got the tablets...oh dear:o

2 girls... how is hanna doing

yvonne... hope u are finally feeling better, I find immodium makes things worse as it keeps the tummy bugs inside... though its good for a quick fix if u need to get out of yucky situaltions. we had a stash at work as well as naprogesic and the pharmacist used to do drug audits and wonder where they all went.

bambi... I have heard of some of the old school paeds using maxalon for milk supply.... though alot of new school ones steer clr of as it should not be given to kids under the age of 12... it can cause a distonic reaction where the kids get excessive saliva... there eyes look up and their jaw kinda locks in... its pretty scary to see but their are drugs to reverse it (I have only seen it once on a 6yrold) be interesting to know how much goes throught to your milk... hmm u got me thinking too much.

mishey... aiden has also been vomiting alot more lately, especially in the morning when my milk supply is at its max... he also has had some acidy smelling once... so im beginning to think I am over feeding him/ reflux

Tara... how was floriade... last yr we went at the end and their where hardly any flowers left... the new musem (SP) was pretty cool though... how is E's eczema... I realised that aiden also has abit on his cheek and the sorbaline has pretty much clred it up

crispy... yeah to your IVF friends... I have been treating aiden with dectarin gel for thrush for 3 weeks... but I think we keep giving it to each other... bugger hey... the dektarin gel is not recomended in babies as some silly lady gave it with a spoon and her poor baby went to heaven... its more of a gel so it coates their mouth (and tastes yummy)

cheezles... hope everything sorts its self out soon... u just have to do wat u think is best... happy baby = happy mummy

baby no one... I just ate some chocolate and bree cheeze thanks alot  I was thinking what is the difference between camembert and bree???? havent had a chance to read the articl... another thing I have been meaning to do... Im still 50/50 but heading towards immunisation as I have seen alot of babies with whooping cough and a few with meningoccal (but the immunisation only covers one type)... and the only reactions I have seen from immunisations is a fever... but I might change my mind after I read the article... its too hard!
about his cast rubbing... they can put a dressing called (I think) coloplast its kinda like a thick fake skin... we use it for alot of things be worth asking for.... the blister must hurt

well enough I have heaps to do... have just washed a whole lot of summer suits for aiden as he is finally fitting into them (he we be to big for them tomorrow)

Hi All,

Tarabell - Its funny how our DH's work out these tricks, mine is so proud :P The burping method isn't fool-proof but it definitely helped!

CrispyChicken - I think with Chloe chucking after feeds another thing I found frustrating is when I did feed her breastmilk she'd spit it up anyway and it took me ages to pump this for her. She did the same with formula, not sure if changing formula will make any difference, however I have contemplated doing this as a test.

Lyglc - Your kids are gorgeous!!! Hopefully you start feeling better soon.

Cheezelz & Everyone else - Thanks for the encouraging words.

Lisa I'm sorry to hear about your BF troubles but really happy you have found FF is working for you too. Also impressed that Piper slept for 8-hrs, actually after Chloe's restless day yesterday she slept for about the same time as well which has never happened before, not for that long anyhow! I hope things pick up for you now you've found FF works!

Your DH sounds like mine regarding FF, he's been really supportive about my decision to stick to just formula, plus yesterday my mum and my MIL both gave me some encouraging words about doing what is best for Chloe and this has helped.

Hi to anyone else I missed!

Anyhow better go feed Chloe she's just woken up and we have our checkup with the GP soon.

Hi, back again.

Didn't get my nap before because Chloe decided to wake up and want a feed.

I'm going to go for one really soon though but want to stay up a few more minutes.

In 11 minutes it will be 3 years since my darling little boy was born. Right now, 3 years ago I was about to push him out!

I can't believe how quickly time goes, but at the same time I can't imagine life without him now (although I kind of feel that way with Chloe already).

Before we know it, our new little ones will be having their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th birthdays. The time goes so very, very quickly (although there are times that seem to drag, especially if you are up in the night with them!)

Try to cherish and enjoy all the moments as they just go by so fast.

Chat later.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted in awhile. We have something on everyday this week. I had a 6week checkup for bubs today and then I have my gyno appointment on thursday to check up on how well im healing which i will be getting a papsmear at as well . Tomorrow I have to do a good clean of the house because the owner wants an appraisel done on wednesday:eek:(I really hope he doesn't sell because we don't want to move). DF has to DJ a formal on tuesday night so he'll be getting things ready for that on tuesday so i guess i will be doing most of the cleaning :(. Then on Friday, DF has a meeting with the accountant for the business but i'm thinking he might reschedule for next monday because he wont have any time to get his paperwork together by then.

I found out that Isabelle weighs 6.5kg and she is only 6 weeks old!! She is in the highest percentile for all her measurements but the doc isn't worried because she seems pretty healthy. She has this rash on the back of her neck and the doc said it was just a 'fat rash'. I have had a lot of trouble settling Isabelle lately, she will fall asleep but then wake up in 5 mins whingy as ever. I just bought one of those swings off ebay so hopefully DF can pick it up tonight and I can see if Isabelle will settle easier.

Sorry but no personals, my 5mins that Isabelle gave me are up . I hope everyone is having a great day.

Morning girls,

Well managed about 2 hours sleep on my own last night. DH looked after Oliver while I went to sleep early...that is he watched him sleep lol! But as usual by about 2am we had both kids in the bed with us.

Yvonne - Hope you are feeling better today. I've just bought a 2 seater pram, so :fingerscrossed: should be able to get out for a walk with them both when the weather is a bit nicer. As for doing things with Marie while I'm feeding Oliver, well I've definitely tried reading, singing etc...but her attention span seems to last about 2 minutes before she is demanding her mummy get on the floor and start playing something else with her. I am hoping things start to get better, its not that she doesn't adore Oliver, she does, always wanting to give him hugs and cuddles.

Michelle - How did your checkup with the GP go? Sounds like Chloe gave you a lovely long sleep yesterday!

Tahnee - How did the swing work out? Did it help settle Isabelle? I also think Oliver has the same sort of rash on the back of his neck. Nothing wrong with a roly poly bubba...its cute :)

Alina - Lol, on the panadol tablets sounds like one of those stories you read in the Mere Male section of one of the women's mags! Glad you survived the outlaws! I'm lucky mine live in the UK!

Lisa - How has the FF gone so far? I hope you had another settled night with Piper.

Claire - What a great weekend! Chocolate tasting mmmmmm. Sorry to hear about Zadyn's blister, I hope they can give you something to help out.

Tarabell - Fantastic the lactation cookies worked for you. I've been making them too, but have substituted slivered almonds, apricots and raisins in for the chocolate chips.

Hi to anyone I've missed, hope you and your bubbies have a great day!

Kristy :)

lucky kristy... your hubby survived 2 hrs, mine lasted 5 seconds before I was called to say he was hungry.... gee mere male... I would take up 2 pages in the new idea.

here are a few more I could add

bringing dirty clothes into hospy for me to wear (i had sent them home the previous day)
getting panadol tabs for aiden to take
still needing a step by step guide on how to change a nappy (god love him... he still thinks he could break aiden)
ohh a video of him untangling the p and t stroller... yesterday the front tire fell off :p

yvonne... happy b day to lachlan... everytime i reach another week milestone I think off u.

tahnee... what does a fat rash look like... what a chubba bubba. aiden has 3 little chins and I reckon he would be about 5kg today... have the child health nurse coming today so ill find out soon

well aiden and i are having breaky in bed... its raining here today so why not

Morning,

M&O - The sellers didn't contact us so we weren't able to pick the swing up yesterday, hopefully they will contact us today. Luckily Isabelle was pretty good yesterday.

lianas1stbub - The 'fat rash' is this red mark at the base of her neck on the back. It's under her hair and it sort of looks like a birth mark.

morning girls,

i have to be real quick as mia is about to wake up, but just wanted to say i got the dreaded phone call last night to say that amelia's heel prick test in the hospital picked something up . The paed wouldnt tell me anything except that she needs more blood tests and i have to go see him on thursday. well when DH got home i was a mess and he was not happy with what the paed told me (or didnt tell me, actually) so he rang him back this morning and made him tell him what the problem is. ellie, i now know what you went through a few weeks ago because as it turns out, either me or DH are a carrier for cystic fibrosis and amelia will either be a carrier or actually have the disease. the paed told us not to read on the internet about it lol and moved our appointment forward to this afternoon. i already know a lot about CF as a boy in my class has it and i have had to know how to care for him and what to look out for. i am praying desperately that she is just a carrier...

sorry, gotta go

23-09-2008, 10:38
crispy - I went through the same thing with Lachlan - it's just awful waiting......
I really hope that it turns out well for Amelia, just like it did for Bianca and Lachlan.

I think from what you said that she has been growing well - so that's a really positive sign. Also people with cystic fibrosis are excessively salty - which is why they do a sweat test to diagnose the condition. I know I licked Lachlan after we got the call and he tasted normal to me. I know Ellie did the same thing with Bianca.

Ellie is away in Qld at the moment so i don't think she's coming onto bubhub at the moment.

Please free free to pm me if you have any questions.

Also, do you know when the test is being done? Hopefully it'll be really soon and you will get the results usually the next day.

Will be thinking and praying for you.

Alina: How was the baby nurse appointment? How much does your little man weigh? Zaydn was weighed at hospital yesterday - he is now 5330grams. He is putting on about 50grams per day (average is 30grams apparently).

Stork marks: Z has stork marks on the nape of his neck. I told my young nieces that it is where the stork carried him when he was delivered to us

Tahnee: Sounds like a really busy week for you! Hopefully the weekend is nice and relaxing! Isabelle sounds gorgeous - I love chubby bubbies - they look so healthy! Zaydn is also on the chubby side and my midwife is really happy with his weight. Indicates that they are feeding well, hey!

Yvonne: How was Lachlan's birthday yesterday?

Big  to everyone I have missed - I am running out of time as Zaydn has an osteopath appointmnet soon!

Got the new cast applied (dark purple this time) and got special tape put on to stop anymore blisters (the stuff you suggested Alina). Z's foot is looking better and better each week

Have really noticed a difference with Zaydn's wind issues since seeing the osteo and chiro. He doesn't have trouble burping anymore, he doesn't grunt and groan anymore after a feed and is much more settled.

On that note, we are going to be late!

Hope you are all having a great day,

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't been around. Thank you for the well wishes for Hannah. Unfortunately she is still in hospital with a secondary lung infection so won't be home until at least the weekend. My poor little darling I have been so worried about her. DH has been with her at the hospital the entire time and has been such a trooper.

I was incredibly stressed yesterday and I think my milk flow decreased. I have rested today and drunk lots of water and even ate proper food so am pretty sure Sean is getting enough. He is sleeping so well of a night time. Day time is not great still but I can deal with it.

CC - i am thinking of you and I hope amelia's tests come back with good news for you.

claire - I am glad to hear Z's foot is getting better all the time.

just popping in to say that the paed appointment went as well as can be expected. he explained everything really well but basically we didnt find out anything new, just that amelia has to have a sweat test at the childrens hospy and if that comes back positive all 3 of us have to have genetic testing to see what genes have caused the CF to appear (apparently there are about 100 different genes that contribute). if they are 2 different genes, she will have a milder case of CF than if it is 2 of the same gene. if it comes back negative then she is just a carrier but they will still do tests on me and DH to see if we both have CF genes or if its just one of us. if its just one of us our future children can only be carriers but if we both have it then they could have CF. anyway i dont know when the appt is for the sweat test yet as it was after hours and we couldnt book but the results should be back in 24 hrs from the test. the paed checked her clicky hip and agreed she definitely needs an U/S so that is booked for thurs. he said he didnt agree with the GP about double nappying as he said if its bad enough to double nappy you might as well fix it properly and have a brace for 6 weeks. the good thing is she is growing fine and putting on weight and looks to be healthy so he thinks we have a good chance she is only a carrier of CF. oh and it turns out she doesnt have thrush, just 'white tongue' which is a build up of milk.

sorry for my :ecomcity:. its a bit mixed up and confusing lol. thanks for reading :)

must be quick - gotta go to bed!

crispy - hope that you can get the sweat test done asap - just so you know it doesn't hurt the baby at all. Good luck for the ultrasound for Amelia's hip too.

2girls - so sorry to hear that Hannah is still is hospital. Hope she is home really soon. Sounds like your dh is doing a great job!

Alina - bummer about the health nurse appointment. I have written thankyou cards to my ob after each birth. I know he likes to get the photo's of the babies so perhaps pop one in for him/her.

Claire - sounds like the psteo and chiro have been great for Zaydn. Really good news that the casts are working too.
Lachlan has a nice b'day yesterday. It was pretty low key after the weekend when he had 2 parties!

icugal - lovely to hear from you.

Anyway, must go to bed.

A big hello to everyone else - hope that everyone is enjoying their babies and hope you all get some good sleep tonight.

Oh by the way, I think that Chloe is finally starting to smile - she has done maybe 4 or 5 kind of smiles today - not any in respoinse to me or anyone else, just kind of little smiles to herself. It's more than what she's done before so hopefully it's the beginning of big gummy smiles!

crispy - why is it that she has to be 6 weeks? How awful that you have to wait.

As already said - please feel free to chat to us about it as much as you need to!

hey girls

hope u all had a nice day

I saw my ob for the last time, though I hope to see him again in the future... have 4 more seats in our car to fill
everything went well:cool: but after all that spring cleaning I did this am, he didnt even go there! ripped off NOT.
he did say that I could dtd now if i hadnt already.. he did mention that I also maybe abit dry down there due to some hormone secreted when breast feeding... so he suggested i purchase some ky... hmmmm fun times

weighed aiden at the local chemist... he is now 4.7kg so thats 600g in 2 weeks... so much for nipple sheilds decreasing your milk supply, since I have been using them he has been putting on more weight... I am not using it as much on my R boobie... they are both still really tender... cant even let my towel brush on them... does anyone else have this problem

claire... zayden looks like he is enjoying his shower, he also look like he has great head control... yeah for his weight gain too... have u been eating alot of chocolate

yvonne... aiden is 6 weeks old now... i was hanging on to every minute he was 5 weeks old, I was asked in david jones how old he was and I asked for the time before I gave an answer....

got to cook dinner
chat to u latter

Evening girls,

Terrible night here last night and this evening is looking like it might be the same! it took us 6 hours to get Little E to sleep last night and then he would only go to sleep when I went to bed. He is still everyday to some extent which is heartbreaking for both of us. I think God must have a sense of humor because my main concern before having him was how I'd deal with the vomiting as I don't deal with other people's well at all.... well I have a reflux baby now and have to deal with projectile vomiting on a daily basis. He actually threw up all over DH last night so it was about time he copped it as it is usually me.

Had his 6-8 wk check this morning, he is just under 5kgs at nearly 9 weeks so he is getting chubby. We have his immunisations on Friday which I am not looking forward to at all.

I have my 6 week check with the Ob on Friday (at 9 weeks) and had my appointment with the surgeon for my gall bladder operation on Monday... I am booked in to have it on the 7 November, didn't want to rush into it. In fact, I don't want to have it done full stop but I guess I have to.

Alina - I hear you about the towel on the boobies, the same thing happens to me... I am tired of the cracks, it hurts like #!#!#. When I was in hospital last week I was told that I'd just have to get used to the fact that I have sensitive nipples and to put up with the pain or bottle feed.... :banghead:

Anyway, I might leave it there... I am so sleep deprived I don't know what I am writing half the time.

Have a good night,

Tara

Apparently each hospital has their own way of doing things and this is the children's hospital's policy (the closest hospy to me that performs these tests). Also, the cuff that sends the electrolosis to make her sweat can leave a burn mark on the baby's skin if they are less than 6 weeks.

crispy - hope that the time doesn't drag too much for you while you wait. I know I said it before, but please feel free to pm me if you want to chat to someone who has gone through it before.

tarabell - what happens with breastfeeding when you go into hospital. Just wondering as I have been told that i need to have surgery (not urgent though) and wondered how it works if breastfeeding. I'm guessing I will have to wait until I have stopped bf, and as I'm hoping to feed for 12 months again, it will be a fair way off.

Anyway, must go to bed, I'm really tired, have a friend and her kids coming around tomorrow. Was going to get the house all tidies and cleaned tonight, but now I'm too tired so will have to be up early tomorrow.

hope you all get some good sleep tonight.

Yvonne.

CC - thinking of you :hugs:

Alina - I refused to have the operation unless I can have little E in hospital with me. I will have a maternity room, DH and Little E will stay with me overnight and apart from the first feed after the operation which I have to discard and DH will give him some EBM which I have a nice supply in the freezer of (thanks lactation cookies) I will be able to bf him as normal. That's the plan anyway, I am not putting him on a bottle despite what the paed told me and I am determined to continue bf until Little E doesn't want to anymore... well maybe if he reaches 27 I might have to draw the line there...

Better get back to my sleeping boys.
