Hi all,

I just thought I would start a thread to complain about the post pregnancy issues that are arising now that my bub has reached the 4 month+ mark............

Issue # 1: Hair loss
could have made a wig with all that I am losing and poor bub ends up with hair everywhere (in her mouth, nappy etc!)

Issue # 2: Greasy Hair

My hair is no longer looking healthy and glossy like the tv commercials and 2 hours after I wash it, it looks like I need to wash it again.

Issue # 3: Skin breakouts

I no longer have beautiful glowing skin - instead I have patchy skin with little breakouts here and there and also very oily too!

Issue # 4: Headaches

Headaches have returned - think this is due to having to go back on the pill again!

Issue # 5: Fluid Retention

Extra dimples in my thighs are appearing from nowhere and I don't seem to pee as much anymore : (

Issue # 6: Poor libido

Haha, yeh right........... when I get spare time I rest or sleep! My partner can't understand why now the bub is out that I am not a horny devil!

Issue # 7: Depressed Shopper Syndrome

Still struggling to lose 7 kgs to go back to original size to be able to fit into current wardrobe and too depressing to go shopping to try on size or two larger clothes so avoid shops altogether!!! Still wearing maternity pants!

Gosh, I think I will get pregnant again so all is well and wonderful!!! :D

Anyone else suffering from the above issues?????

Oh yeah LOL!!

I can relate to 3, 4, 6, & 7 and my Eloise is 14 and a half months old!!

I put on all my weight AFTER she was born - I'm heavier NOW than I was before I even got pregnant!

Hey Lu

GREAT thread. This whole pregnancy thing aint what I expected. I didn't even get to glow during pregnancy- I was sick and looked SO tired, pale and did I mention FAT (put on 25kg  )

Now I am experiencing all the lovely hair issues, the weight (still got 10kgs to go), extra dimples (everywhere) and my skin is dry??!!??

Biggest one that affects me is the weight, I have always been concious of this and this time it just isn't going anywhere AND its flabby. I've been on a healthy eating plan with exercise but there is no way I'll be in any of my old clothes this winter. And like you I just can not bring myself to but bigger clothes- go the trakkies :D

At least bubs and hubby think I am still the best thing since sliced bread :p

Girls,

Having been pregnant twice (now for the third time) I can reassure you that it takes a good year to get your body, hair and skin back, and that's with lots of regular exercise and healthy eating. But when you do get it all back, it's worth it, because you earned it.

Until then, dress cleverly, have regular facials and invest in a good personal trainer (or gym/swim class). You might not be there yet, but at least you'll know you're on your way.

I've resigned myself to the fact that my body is not going to be in shape for a good year. All I can manage at the moment is a regular walk around the park. I'd be interested in other people's thoughts on the lack of libido. Mine's gone AWOL. :(

I think it was the hair loss that bothered me the most!!! I think my son was 4months at the time and my hair was no longer glossy and beautiful.

I loved the attention/concern I received from family, workmates etc. while I was pregnant - now all I get is a lack of interest while I rabbit on about my son's latest bad habit!!!

The weight? Guess it depends on whether you do anything about it. I actually weigh more now than when I was pregnant! I didn't feel energised enough to actually be bothered to go for a walk or go to the gym.

Now my son's 18 months old and we're trying for bub number 2 at the mo, I keep promising myself that I'll work on my weight, etc after the next bub but for now, I'll just do what I can and try to maintain a healthy diet.

Just look after yourself the best you can.

If only there was a way to lose weight while sitting on the couch having a cuppa and enjoying the 30 minutes peace while bub has a nap cycle?!?! THink I might have to get a personal trainer if only I could be bothered .........

My libido has been awol for 12 months now - my poor partner won't want any more kids as he knows he won't be getting any for at least 12 month poor bugger :D !!!

It's funny though how men seem to really like the new curves and extra weight and use any excuse to touch and feel but I don't think I will ever see my boobs as anything apart from a milk bar ever again........ gone are the days they were fun bags!!

I forgot to put in my list another issue in that my mood swings are back! Probably because my hair looks so thin and greasy, my skin is like a teenagers and I am chunky and can't wear anything but my humble trackies and large tshirt!

I sure hope Tayla appreciates all this - luckily she is worth any issue I have! :D

I am the same way...I also am heavier than I was when I was pregnant. It is very frustrating and discouraging. It is hard to get back into the swing of working out and eating healthy when all my attention is focused on my precious son.
