i had a scan today to make sure i didnt have twins.. :(

iv found out my baby has no heart beat..

im really not beleiving it.. i havent had bleeding or pain. and the bub measured 12w1d.. and thats exactly wat i am today..????


iv been to emergency dept.
they told me its a missed misscarrage
which means no bleeding and pain..

and i have a appointment tomorro for a internal scan to see a better picture and to see if they can find a heatbeat and if there isnt ill have the procedure done.. hmmmmm

anyone had a scare like this and its turned out fine???

Y did they baby measure the right dates??

I'm really sorry to hear that hun. I don't want to give you false hope but i know with my mum, she thought i was a miscarriage because they told her they couldn't find the heartbeat. But they were wrong and I'm here today. That was 21 years ago though and I'm not sure if things have changed since then in regards to accuaracy and technology. Either way I'm sending lots of love and hugs. xox

I am so sorry for you. I don't know if it will be OK or not tomorrow, I don't know how likely it is to miss a heart beat at 12 weeks with external u/s vs internal, so maybe there's a chance it will be OK? It does seem strange that it had stopped beating the same day you had your scan, although of course it's possible. I wish you all the best.

I had a missed m/c - found out at my NT scan at 12.5 weeks that the baby hadn't made it past 8.5 weeks. So, for me the scan was fairly conclusive. Had had a scan at 7.5 and all was perfect (had seen a heartbeat and dates were spot on etc.). I had had no pain or bleeding (maybe just the slightest shade of pale pink/skin colour cm a few days before the scan).

:fingerscrossed: the internal will be OK. I have heard of others where it was OK. And it does seem odd that the dating was spot on for the time of the scan.

I have had a missed m/c first scan bubs had a heartbeat, not so lucky for the second scan.
My bubs had passed about i think a month earlier. I had a feeling that all was not right. I have heard of a heartbeat being found after doing another u/s. But i had an internal u/s straight after my having a normal u/s and i could see bubs had passed.

I had a missed M/C - had a little spotting at 17wks but scan showed bubs passed at 13wks.

Never had a scan prior (Dr never booked me in for one cos I didn't want the pre natal tests done) to that so never got to hear bubs heart beat or see it wriggling about... :( wish I had....

I'm so sorry for your loss. I was in the March Mummies group with you but I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. Bub didn't make it passed 6 weeks. I know it's devastating. I hope you have loads of support and you're dealing with the shock. Take care.:hugs:

i know exactly how you feel. i had my 12wk NT scan late last year and turned out that bub didnt have a heart beat...i was only 11.4wks on the day of the scan...the exact length that bub was...he/she had died within the previous 24hrs. its the worst feeling in the world cause i too didnt have any cramps, pains for bleeding either. and to make things worse the stupid computers were down at the xray place so they couldnt write out a report and the emergency dept. at the hospital wouldnt do another ultrasound to double check cause it was out of business hours!! what the hell is up with that??? if i wanted another ultrasound i would have had to book it for the following day and then if it was true wait for a weekend to have a d&c on the monday!! so i'll never know if my baby was actually alive or sleeping :o(
