Hello all you lovely pregnant women,

As part of the Bach of Science Midwifery Degree at Curtin University WA the students require women who are less than 35 weeks pregnant and who are willing to participate is what is called the "Follow Through Experience".

Basically what it entails is the student midwives attend a min of 2 antenatal appointments labour, birth and min of 2 post natal visits.

All you lovely women can look at it this way...You have your own personal student midwife for the duration of your pregnancy and post natal as well.

All the students have an undeniable passion for midwifery and have a very women centered care approach.

I personally have completed all the follow throughs for this year but there are 20 girls still desperately needing births for this year and early next year...SO if you would be interested in discussing this further you can contact me on nhala12@bigpond.com or email Jennifer Wood, our co-ordinator on j.wood@curtin.edu.au either of us will be willing to go into more detail and hopefully match you with a wonderful midwifery student.

Hope to hear from you soon
:hugs:

Hi Sarah

I'm a Curtin nursing student and I was found by a lady called Catherine who will be with me for my #3 due in Jan. :yelclap:

I have recently spoken to a lady having twins in Jan, she thinks she might like a smw and if she gets back to me and hasn't got anyone yet I will let you know.

I'll also let the lovely ladies at our local school know, they're all having babies all the time.

I think I have some brochures left over from last semester...

Hey jazzak,

C/S doesn't matter it is all part of a birthing process. I have attended 3 C/S now.
Where abouts are you there may be a student in your area who hasn't had a c/s experience yet if you interested.

There is also different types of C/S, active where you get to hold your baby straight away and maternal assisted where you get to deliver your own baby.
These are other options if you are interested.

PM me if you would like a student to follow your journey and assist you with the C/S we are more than happy to.
Cheers
