I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and have just been discharged from hospital after going into labour. They managed to stop the contractions with nifedopine so they sent me home on Tuesday. I ended up going back into labour that night though so they put me back on nifedopine and kept me in a few more days. Things have settled down a little now, but the Dr has sent me home on the nifedopine (taking 1 every 6 hours). Has anyone else ever taken nifedopine this way before, or know of anyone who has?
This is all very new to me, so any info would be appreciated
Thnx :)

Hi, I was given nifedepine (adalat) to stop or slow my contractions but it didnt work, i only had 4 doses though as my labour was progressing. My daughter was born within 5 hours of first dose, sorry that doesnt help u much, but if its any help it is an old drug with minimal side effects except lowering you blood pressure - thats what this drug was designed for and is still used in some areas for.

Good luvk with your preg :)
