checklist/tips
1. Stow bathtub toys in a brightly coloured plastic storage container that can be put away when not in use.
2. Opt for armchairs and sofas with washable covers that can withstand the wear and tear of sticky fingers and muddy shoes.
3. Make sure that your tables have rounded edges that are easier on little bodies should a mishap occur.
4. Rotate your children’s toys periodically to try and keep their novelty.
5. Place a doll house inside your bookcase so the children can play in the same place where the adults gather.
6. Hang a set of hooks at a low level in your entrance hall to encourage your children to hang up their own things.
7. Paint one wall in a living space with blackboard paint so the children can express themselves in chalk. Maybe you’ll have some fun too.
8. Give each of your children separate boxes that help to sort out their mess—and their squabbles, too.
9. Scatter child-sized furniture in adult areas so they feel welcome everywhere in the house—not just in their playroom.
10. Insure the well being of your children by using safety products like socket plugs, guard gates and cabinet door locks.
