ok, my almost 3 year old dd has for the last couple of months been complaining of a sore belly - around the belly button, she will have days where shes fine and then other times where she will only complaine a few times during the day - usually at meal times, and then you have the days like today, where she has little bursts of energy, but spends most of the day laying around complianing about her belly, most times she gets a slight fever, and eats very little, especially at dinner(which she normally eats fine). we had one day were she was actually sick, with a fever, and i took her to the doc, and all he did was have a half a*sed feel of her belly and say it was just a simple case of gastro, and sent me home after paying the $$$$$ for nothing.(sorry country doc). she has this little pokey out belly button, that if pushed in feels like its grinding - and as no one else in the family has a outtie, i cant determine if its a normal feeling or not! so basically i dont know what to do, is she faking it or is it something serious that i should go see another doctor about???? please help me!!

thanks

I'd be taking her to as many dr's as it takes to find out what is causing the pain. Also the fact that she seems to have very little energy and doesn't eat alot would worry me too.

I would be taking her to another doctor, but before you do, might be a good idea to do a food diary of what she's been eating for say over about a week, and write down all the times she gets a sore belly, and just be prepared.

Keep harassing those doctors !
Maybe it is just a bug but if she keeps complaining etc i would want answers !
Good luck i hope you find some answers & she gets better soon :fingerscrossed:

Mayby it could be an umbilical hernia? Can be quite painful and if it hurts her when she eats then that could explain the pain because its causing pressure on this which results in pain.Hmmm i would take her to another doc if thats possible:confused:

my younger sister had similar problems when she was younger and my mum had same problem with dr's and in the end she was diagnosed with being born with half a bowl.

i would take her to a peadtricain or another dr. i always think if you arent satisfied with the explanation from a dr go elsewhere and see what they say:thumbsup:
