hey there,
i started reading thru the nwa chat but there were so many entries, i found it hard to get thru, so thought i might as well just ask.
is there anyone in here that is from Newman at all? my dh is working up there and considering residential if housing becomes available, just wondering what its like to live there... We have a two year old.
thanks for any replies

Hi there,
I can send you a pm which I received from a Newman mum as Newman is also on the cards for us allthough we prefer Tom Price. The info she send me was very, very helpfull and definately postive as we have previously got quite some negatives stories about Newman which were turning us off a bit.
We find it very hard to get our foot in the door for a residential job. Guess it comes down to a lot of patience.....
DH is FIFO in Pilbara region already(think I've seen most of you on the FIFO chat tread etc), but with the shortage of housing it's gonna be a big task....
love to hear from you how you are getting on

my dh worked tom price last year. he loved the site there.
looks like we're going to take our time to put our name down for housing up there as apparantly we have to pay our own relocation....yuck.
dh working for hwe. who does ur dh work for?

What a shame you have to pay for your own reloc. HWE not willing to help out ?
DH works for Westrac.
The housing shortage is just amazing, just heard thru someone who works from Para that there are enough houses, but some are not up to standard and it is sometimes as simple as a fence being a few inches too low.....aaaarrrrgggghhhh how frustrating.:hair:
Did you want the info on Newman ?

yeh the info would be good still. u never know what will happen in the future.
Thats what my dh said about the housing (this was when he was in tom price). there are empty houses with pools and stuff but need something silly done to them like a lock on a door or new curtains or whatever... something you can live with or do yourself. very frustrating.
