View Full Version : Bonjela
Hi DS is teething and i have started to use Bonjela. Then read somewhere that its not good for bubs cause it contains alcohol, asprin and some other ingrediants that are not to good. Can anyone give me some insight on this?
Bonjela is fine and safe to use.... The amount you would be using is only small and prolonged use really wont do any harm... All of my kiddies lived on it and are healthy thriving children.... With great teeth i might add...... There are other alternatives to bonjela which you can try... Of course you can use teething rings and cold face washers but if bubs is only young then a teething gel is the best way to go.... there are multiple gels out there and all made up in different ways... I now use the herron brand and i find it to be the best.. but everyone is different... the reason it has those ingredients in it is to promote the numbing of the gum and also as a preservative... As i said only tiny amount are being used and it isn't fully absorbed into the system.....
Good luck with the teething.... it's a shocker of a time but it gets better.... Take Care.... x x

There are tons of different teething relief remedies available.
If you are worried about the content of Bonjela you might like to use the Brauers teething relief.

I like the way NCB thinks. I have nothing against Bonjela but I found it inaffetive due to the fact that DS was salivating so much that it never stayed on long enough to take effect. I found the brauers teething relief drops to be fantastic and the only thing that worked for DS. But Bonjela isn't that bad for bub and if its working then keep using it.

:D Thanks!
I did try a few different kind of teething relief. I personally preferred the gels to the liquid, but the liquid can easily be added to water!
I do dislike the droppers though. I always throw them out and keep my dosing syringes. They're MUCH easier IMO.

Dito on the syringes. The droppers never dosed the right amount on the frist sqeeze so the syringes were much easier.

No.. They are pretty useless when working out a dosage. Good for putting droplets of water in things or painting though. :p
Thanks guys, will also try bruars i have the syringe thing from panadol so will use that instead.
Try hylands teething tablets..my ds loves it...as soon as he sees the bottle you think its lollies inside the way he jumps up and his eyes light up... basically the tablet tiny tiny tablets just dissolves quickly in their mouth and its all homeopathic..
