Hi there,
I wondered if anyone out there had successful experiences with conceiving when husband or partner's sperm count is close to zero? We are about to undergo ICSI and the last biopsy showed only one usable sperm (& a lot of immature sperms). Sperm maturation arrest appears to be the diagnosis, with little evidence as to what caused it.
We are currently detoxing (no coffee, alcohol, processed foods etc etc) for the next 4 months to try to up this count as we only intend to have one go at IVF/ICSI. He is also having acupuncture, taking chinese herbs and using homeopathy and naturopathy (bach flowers etc). We are also taking vitamins A, B C, D, E, and zinc. As you can see, we are leaving no stone unturned and want to go into this knowing we did all we could without becoming bankrupt! If anyone has any amazing miracle stories, I'd love to hear them. Thanks for listening. Julia:)

PM me if you would like to hear our miracle story.

PS I must clarify that my story is a pre- IVF ICSI miracle baby and the circumstances that led to my little miracle being born.

Hi Julia,

My husband also had a zero sperm count and we went through IVF/ICSI. Before we started our IVF treatment DH took Zinc and a multi vitamin and cut out all caffeine, alcohol and was wearing boxes.

With everything you have said in your post I think that you are on the right track. I just wanted to give you hope that there is still hope when you have a zero sperm count. I am currently 34w preg and IVF/ICSI worked on our first attempt.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

Hi girls,
Thanks for replying. It is such a confusing place to be isn't it? I am particularly encouraged by Kerri's story - first attempt - as we are only going to be able to do the one. I will be 38 by the time we try too, so that is scary in itself!
Sounds like we are doing all we can though, and at the end of the day, that's all we can do. We want to be able to say we did all we could, with no regrets or 'what ifs'.
Best of luck Kerri for a safe delivery. All of you enjoy your beautiful babies - hopefully we will have one oneday to love as well.
:)
Best wishes, Julia
