When i was a young child i had some development issues and was tested for aspergers syndrome but they came to the conclusion that i didnt have it but could never pin point where my issues came from.
now into my 20's they havent really ever gone away so im beginning to wonder if i need to be re assessed. does anyone know the best way to go about organising assesment for that kind of thing in the melbourne area

TIA - John

I would start with your GP.

He is in the best spot to refer you to anything that might be able to help with that.

Just wanted to let you know that my DP was informally diagnosed as having Asperger's when he was 17, its a scary diagnoses, but its no where near as bad as it first seems! :hugs: PM me if you would like someone to chat to about it and I can give you his email, or vice versa!

Its unlikely that you would meet the DSM-IV criteria now, as problems tend to reduce over time.
But there is a spectrum from geeky to profound autism.
There is a lot of info on the web. Maybe start here:

Did you see the recent Catalyst story on Aspergers?
