Yesterday I caught the sole of my foot on a rivet that was sticking up a bit in a metal carpet strip (between bathroom and bedroom) Ripped a chunk of skin off and it bled a bit but is really uncomfortable to walk on - being the soft pad just behind the toes...

I know keeping off it is probably going to help, but I am walking with a friend this morning! Doh. So what's your recommendation? paw paw cream and bandaid? tea-tree ointment? I have one of those rapid heal patches to put on...just not looking forward to getting in the shower! I know walking on it is going to slow down the healing process.

Or maybe I am just looking for sympathy!:o

I'd try paw paw cream and a band-aid and I would try not to wear open shoes in case something gets in there and infects it.

:hugs::hugs:Foot ouchies are horrible.

:hugs::hugs:ouch! i know tea tree is antibacterial etc but i wouldnt put it on if your going walking, it would probably sting like crazy aswell being an open wound.

Aw thanks for the :hugs: Freya. Yes it's the 'get air at it' vs infection issue isn't it? Too cold to go barefoot - cept when I actually did it :o:o

Stay off it as much as possible. I wouldn't do any more walking than you absolutely have to. Are you sure it didn't go in deep? If there's any hint of infection or that it went in deep go to your GP ASAP!
