Just wondering what people have found to be the best form of baby sling? I've really only seen Kapoochies and Baby Bjorns, although I'm sure there are more alternatives. My cousin told me to avoid Kapoochie because her's snapped, but I wanted to check what other people thought before I went and bought one. Thanks!:D

There are far better alternatives to both! They will only hold an infant until about 6 months, depending on weight. They can only be worn on the front, and they DO hurt your back. Check this link out..

A better alternative is an Ergo, Patapum if you want a 'carrier' type, or a Hug a Bub or wrap type sling, or a good old ring sling. Better for the baby and better for your back, the positioning is better than Baby Bjorn type carriers.

Our sling is Kapoochi and I can't fault it. It has been fantastic, esp in the first 12 weeks when DS wouldnt sleep unless he was carried in his sling.

I love our Baby Bjorn - I can put it on and get bubs in it in a second and he LOVES it! Whenever he's crabby or unable to settle, he's straight in it and happy! Its great for getting housework done, or popping down to the shops.

I've also noticed that lots and lots of people have BBs - I guess that's a good sign that its a good product!!

I used a front carrier for DD1 like the kapoochi one but can't remember the name....
I now use a babasling and it is the best thing I have bought!
You can use it from birth upto 4 yrs! and you can use it in 6 different positions.
It doesn't hurt your back or shoulders and most importantly doesnt hurt baby's back like the carriers on the market today.

I've got a hug-a-bub, and it is SO comfortable.

It also holds a little baby's head securely so you can bend and still have both hands free to get to the bottom shelf in the supermarket etc.

I have a back problem, and I find it has been the only one we have tried which I can comfortably wear all day. I was able to travel for 2 weeks in the school holidays with just the hug-a-bub, as we did not have room in the car for my pram, and it was so easy, and very comfortable.

I used a babybjorn for both of my DD's, as they get heavier it does get a bit heavy on the back though. But they are great....

We have a Baby Bjorn and we loved it too. Now my daughter is 5 months old and it is getting a bit heavy now and it hurts on the shoulders and back:( . And she seems to be a bit squashed in it as well, even though she is a long and thin baby.

Recently we flew to Europe and the women next to us had her 8 months old boy in a sling on the back and that looked sooooooo comfy and the little boy really enjoyed it! When she put it on he could not wait to get in again! I asked her which brand that was because I wanted to buy it too. :yelclap:

It was the above mentioned ergo baby carrier and she bought it over the internet in the US for about US$95. But there are also distributors in Australia, here is the link:

The Ergo is brilliant, I have one and I have carried a friends 4 year old in in comfortably. And for what you pay for a Baby Bjorn, the Ergo is not a lot more and you can get another 4 and a half years use out of it. And it can go front and back. Better value for money...
