DD (13 months) got a cold 7 weeks ago and developed diarrhoea. When the cold went away but the stools didn't return to normal, I went to the doctor and he sent away a stool sample. The result came back normal so I didn't think too much of it, assuming it would go away.

I've tried lactose-free formula and also reducing fruit (although she has had some as she has gone off her vegies lately)....and still the problem persists.

Should I take her back to the doctor? Could it be teething or is that an old wives' tale? Any suggestions?

Did the Dr put her on anti-biotics for her cold? What other meds did she have?

If she had anti-biotics or meds I'd put her on a probiotic powder (like Inner Health Plus for kids). Her gut could be all out of balance from them.

You could try using a probiotic (from the fridge at the chemist) in soluble powder form. Perhaps the intestinal flora needs a bit of a boost following the diarrhoea (which strips away a lot of the good bacteria). Otherwise perhaps start looking closer at diet. Just as an example my DS for some reason or another became less tolerant of wheat after his long period of diarrhoea. We found the probiotics made a difference. Ask your chemist.
