Is anyone planning to go to the Buddha's Birthday Festival at SouthBank in Brisbane this weekend (actually starts this Friday May 5) ???

If you don't know about it, here's the website with program etc:

Kids should enjoy it!

Maybe I’ll run into a fellow bubhubber + family there!!

Yes, they always have lots for kids. I think I will take Alice to see the Lion Dance on Friday at 2.30.

I also just noticed they are having a multi-faith forum on Saturday at 3pm in the Conservatorium, which would be really interesting...

'Facilitated by the Director of the Griffith University Multi-Faith Centre, Professor Swee-Hin Toh shall discuss with leading spiritual figures, and hope to answer some of our tough modern spiritual questions, as we move into the Global Multicultural Age. Panelists include Imam Tariq – Muslim Faith, Venerable Chueh Shan – Buddhist Faith, Genevieve Caffrey –Christian women for a culture of Peace, Surendra Prasad – Hindu Faith and a representative from the Baha’I Faith. A forum not to be missed.'

Does anyone know anything about the Baha'I faith????

They are also having a multi-faith concert:

We're going! I plan to take DD - I'm really keen to introduce her to Buddhism and thought this might be a good way to do so....she's still little but you're never too young right? ;)

Hi Emmylou :p
Alice is 20 months old and already seems to have a penchant for bell chants and golden buddhas!!!

we are going to the festival later today and again on sunday for the multi-faith concert and fireworks finale.

B-belle - i checked out that link to Baha'ism and it looks really interesting. A religion to unite religions so to speak. thanks for the info. :p

I also found this link relating buddhist teachings and bah'i teachings which was interesting:
