my 8 month old ds hasnt got any teeth came through yet.
My DD is a late teether too! She just started popping them out about three weeks ago (she was just over 9months old then) and she's now got two bottoms and her two tops have just cut in the last week. They were late but they certainly are springing up all over the place rapidly now!
I'm personally okay with my DD being a late teether - she's so much more able to cope with the pain of teething than she would have been a few months ago. At least now she's more mobile so we can use distraction and cuddles to help get her through.

my son was 10months when he got.... 4 teeth at once. my grandparents-in-law told me his teeth will be more healthy because they came though later

My ds didnt get any till he was 10 1/2 months old! He got one bottom tooth and now he has a full set (except 2 yr molars)
I think they do deal with it better when they are older and they tend to get the rest through in a shorter time frame so less whinging!

I think there is just a natural variation, but I believe genetics play a part. My two did not get any teeth until about 10 months old, and my DH was the same. I have to say that the girls were extremely adept at gumming their vegemite sandwiches:laughing:
Back in the 70s, though, MIL had people telling her to take DH and "have his gums cut so the teeth could come through"
