Confused

Hi,

I am a long time lurker and first time poster. My husband and I have just started to TTC our first child.

This month the day before my oeriod was due I got some brown spotting and the following day the same thing and then today nothing. I did a test yesterday (first day of missed period) and it was negative. Is it possible my hormone levels arent high enough for it to detect yet? I was thinking of going for a blood test.

I also have sore breasts and I have felt sick in the stomach (like I want to throw up but cant) for the last week - this gets unbearable when I am cooking meat.

I had been on the pill for a number of years but have had a regular cycle since coming off it.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

hmmm...you could be still adjusting to coming off the pill or you could be pregnant. I would test in a few days.

I thought I would post so I could let you know about my experience. I came off the pill then had a 34 day cycle, a 31 day cycle and a 46 day cycle.
I thought I could be pregnant last cycle because I was nauseous and vague (but I wasn't and probably just had a bug that has similar symptoms). This is the first cycle where I have ever had the spotting that you have referred to, and a couple of days later turned into full af.

It just strikes me as odd that it has come exactly when AF is due but is only brown spotting and it didnt stick around long.

Maybe I will test at the end of the week.

Heidilee, the same thing happened to me, got some spotting the day before AF was due then nothing. Turned out i was pregnant and it was implantation bleeding. Quite late to have this as it ususlly occurs 10-12 DPO!! I eventually m/c- not sure if it was due to late implantation or not but to cut a long story short i didnt get a BFP till about three days after AF was due.

I will try and wait till Thurs (4 days after AF was due) or Fri to do another test and see what happens. I cant help but think its just my body playing tricks on me - although the fact that something came but not actual AF gives me a little hope.

Did you use First response pregnancy tests.
I had that and I wasn't as far as I thought I was wait a few days and then do another test.

i would wait a week and then test again if it is neg get a bt. i had this happen when i came off the pill i had 2 cycles then nothing i would spot occasionally but nothing, turns out i wasn't pregnant just had a 127 day cycle but that's because i have pcos, anyway if you came off the pill any less then 6 months ago it could be your body adjusting. Did you spot at the time of your period though or random times? I just think this is wierd cause it was right before my period so it could be implantation bleeding or breakthrough bleeding.

It could also be the pill (post pill amenorrhea) although I dont think you spot anything with that. Guess I will find out when I test in a couple of days. I dont have my hopes up.

at first when af was due and then after about 2 months just randomly. i definitely think if af hasn't showed up by next week go get a bt hopefully tis a nice bfp for you :)

Just to update everyone I did another test this morning (confirm brand) and there was a light :bfp:

I am still in shock. Will go and get a blood test tonight to confirm - part of me just doesnt think it can be true when its only our first month TTC.

Good Luck to u & ur partner HeidiLee, it would be wonderful news for you if you get a confirmation BT result :)

If it comes back negative, don't totally give up on the chance. It is possible that HCG levels are too low to detect in early days pf pregnancy. However just keep in mind that until AF does appear, it's not completely over.

I don't like to keep my hopes up as I have been trying so long.. however a little bit of hope helps u get thru the day. Daydream, fantasize... but keep ur feet firmly planted on the earth until u do get ur positive result. Then jump for joy & live on cloud 9 for the next several months hehehe :bee:

Just to update everyone - blood tests show a healthy pregnancy developing with good hCG levels. Due 4 May 2009.
