sorry if this seams silly but ive read that babies find it easier to eat solids then to drink and with that in my mind im scared to start solids (around 6months so i have a while yet) because i want to breastfeed for as long as possible.
has any one else felt like this?
what style of feeding did you do?
please tell me she wont wean off then
she doesnt take a dummy or bottle so whats the chance she wont take a spoon. would it suit her to do babyled weaning? is that better to keep the baby on the breast long term
opinions please

hi there!
i haven't started feeding DD [5 and a bit months] solids yet, and i don't plan on doing it.
i'm going to let her do it [baby led weaning basically].
i mean if i eat a banana i'll let her suck on it or give her little tastes and any kind of fruit i give her little bits but not all the time.
i'm going to let her do it.
She has been fully breastfed, and now wont take a bottle or anything but she eats off a spoon, she drinks water from a cup and makes a terrible mess!!!
i suggest the baby led weaning, and let her do it all herself as she is less likely to choke as well if she does it herself!
good luck!

BLW all the way here. There is no chance of over feeding her, it is just so easy. (except the mess ):)
I was very nervous of starting solid feeding. It was because I was at a stage of stability and ease with feeding so the idea of throwing a new thing into the mix was scary. I didn't know how he'd react to the foods, whether he might have an allergy. I was scared he might choke or that his body might not digest it all properly.
As it turned out, all I really needed to fear were the solid poo nappies  :dizzy:
Let your baby go at her own speed and you'll both be fine. it's only the first feed that is scary :) It marks a new stage in both your lives.
I'm worried and scared about it too.. but just because it means my little guy isn't a little bubby anymore :(
lucky he's nowhere near ready for solids yet (and don't think he will be for a while)
Im scared too !! I feel the same... :o
DD turned 6 months yesterday and I've decided I am going to wait till 7 months to give her solids.
Things are going too good atm with BF and I think another month won't hurt.
