Hi everyone,
My DS is almost 9mths old and normally has a tin of heinz food for lunch, but this doesnt seem to be enough anymore. The tin is normally of fruit or apple & oatmeal, I have tried giving him a milk araroot biscuit after but he isnt to keen on biscuits.
Does any one have any idea's on what else to give him for lunch. He started on solids around 4mths, and eats finger food as well as mashed food.

Hi,
My DD was never a big eater but if she ever wanted more than I originally gave her I would give her carrot or celery (not so successful) sticks, cheese or cheese sticks (the single wrapped ones - a bit plastic-y but some brands are okay), banana, watermelon, rockmelon, honey dew, apple (all chopped in chunks big enough for her to hold and eat herself) or Sao or Salada biscuits (maybe not if your DS isn't keen on biccies). I figured that kids can never really have too much fruit or veg! I guess it also depends on how many teeth your DS has. My DD had a mouthful of chompers pretty early so had no trouble with the harder foods.
That is all I can think of at the moment as it was a while ago. If I can remember anymore successful ones I will post them.
Good luck.

slices of ham torn into smaller pieces. Chopped up tomato (take out the juicy bits to minimise mess). Grilled cheese sandwiches. My dd loves bacon, its nearly the only meat she'll eat, I slice it into smaller strips and buy the least fatty I can get.
Make a foldover pizza - cheese, bits of tomato and ham, maybe a little tomato sauce on a fahita or burrito shell, throw it in the microwave, fold flat and let it cool before slicing into manageable pieces.
Leftovers from your dinner the night before - make extra potatoes or rice or spagetti. My dd loves mashed potatoes with cottage cheese. Mix the rice into a jar of heinz or mashed vegetables.
Nathan now eats sandwiches for lunch most days his favourite is avocardo.
A great cookbook for is the Australian Womans Weekly Babies and Toddlers cookbook.

Charli (10 months) loves her cheese on toast cut into fingers, french toast (soak bread in egg/milk & fry) or vegemite toast or sandwiches. She also munches on Cruskits with vegemite.
I usually give her finger food as well as a jar of food. That way she gets to feed herself while I shovel in food as well.

there is also these two....
DP - dear partner
DH - dear husband
The "D" can also be "Darling".
So Darling Son or Darling Daughter.
Anyone else have any other interpretations?
Hi Michelle
My DS is also nearly 9 months and the Heinz apple and oatmeal is also a favourite of his and something he often has for lunch. It hasn't quite been enough to satisfy him for a while now so I usually also give him half a mashed up banana or I mix in some stewed apple (microwaved or steamed) with the jar to bulk it up a bit. This is then usually enough to satisfy him. I have also been buying tinned mango cheeks lately that are nice and mushy which I give him with a weetbix and a little bit of full cream cows milk which he really seems to like. Hope that helps :)

I've made a sticky thread with all the abbreviations in it for everyone!

Both my kids loved cream cheese and avacado sandwich together, also kiwi fruit cut into little cubes.
